I'm here

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks LK. I need triple the strength or triple the dose of minerals. Got to get another bottle, that sure has helped me in the energy dept. lately.
It was a cool day in May yesterday with all that rain. But today, I can declare it a bake-in-your-garden day! It can wilt even the sturdiest cactus.. but not as hot as what you're facing there LK.

Staying indoors and will attack some sewing projects or just do nothing!!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hey Synda!! Did Auntie Clairol made her way there yet?

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Send me some heat !!!!!!!! Got down in the 30's last night and only in the 60's today.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh oh.. where is the cheery picture that's always accompanying each of your post Synda? Hope you're okay.

BRB... cat'astrophe out there..

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Nope not yet.......but you know what I talked to cody on the phone and I think she gave me her sinus infection fungus over the phone,My head and cheekbones are killin me.....LOL

You guys are too fast for me... brought this over from the last room...

Good Day everyone!
Donna good luck with the Stop Smoking!!! Laura and Sean are getting ready to give it another try...sure hope they make it this time...I know it will help some of their health issues and definitely help with finances...I know it was the best thing I ever did!!! Will keep you both in our prayers cause I know it is not an easy thing.

Marion, for once I did not take either a book or my computer with me:( Had a particular magazine I was going to pick up...looked through it and there was not a single thing in it worth buying. So we looked at moms Card Making magazine, took pictures of clouds and people watched at the Cell Phone Parking Lot!!!

Donna (my sis) and mom have a lot of things they plan to do...we don't get to see each other a lot...I think since she moved to New York in the early 1980's she has been here maybe 4 or 5 times.

Cindy (((hugs))). Hope things continue to go well with the move. Sounds like Rick is taking it well so far. It will be a good thing if you can part friends.

My brother never travels without his Garmin!!! He brought it on our last trip to Oklahoma and I fell in love with it. Made the trip sooo easy!!

~~~~waving to everyone...need to grab another cup of coffee and go see what the plans are for today...or if they are just going to spend the day recovering from last night...I am used to being up late...but they are not.
Catch you later.
Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)
I'll be back later.......maybe,my girlfriend is coming to stay til Thurs.,I haven't seen her in almost a year.
(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)
Who is the proud owner of the beautiful hostas? Jaye are they yours? I finally have some growing and I am so proud of them!! Working on increasing them. Been checking where I planted those Deborah sent to me but I am getting worried. I am thinking they were the greens for the squirrel's dinner one night. Whatever am I going to do with these beasty? I miss Jojo!!!!!! .....and Truest with her steam roller. That would solve all our problems if they would reappear.
In the 70's still here so far and looks like we might, just might get some rain. Sure hope so. Probably well since I have been watering all morning. Got to get my soaker hose in place for the front bed--maybe this weekend.
Well back to my chores--I promised myself I would complete my list or no going to BJ's. Can't have that now can I?
(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)
Checking in so I don't lose the room, back to packing
Coushatta, LA
LOL!!!!!Synda,you are silly.Hope you feel better.
My throat is not hurting as bad since i got put on the second sinus pill.
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)
Goodness.. I'll leave you alone Synda!!! Sure hope your gf will stay, maybe she'll make you feel better :D
That's good to know Cody. Stick to the meds till they're finished. AND stay out of the yard for a couple of days.
Trisha, I sure envy you too. I wish it would be easy for my sisters to visit me here or vice versa.
Maid M.. try sprinkling some cayenne pepper around the hostas, might deter the squirrels.
Yep, I'm proud of my hostas. The only tree that puts out a great canopy has only hostas and one heuchera underneath it.
This is my favorite... Red October. It has red stems.
I don't keep track of names.. this has a bluish margin/border with deeply quilted green leaves.
Another beauty, beautiful center markings.
All these hostas are about 5 years old. In the winter, I don't mulch them at all. Just left the fallen oak leaves on them.
(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)
Oh how nice!! Kim just bought me 3 Red Octobers for MD and they are indeed something different. There seems to be so many that I am constantly learning about and wanting. Now just finding places for them. Kim suggested putting the Red Octobers in black pots and setting in the shade garden. Been thinking I might do it that way. Mine Sum and Substance is really doing nicely--gets the morning sun and afternoon shade so it is a real bright yellow green. My Mouse Ears are by babies though. Have a daily chat with them to let them know how proud of am of them. Yeap, I 'm a little left of center at times. Maybe right who knows.
(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)
That is what I do, just let the leaves do the work for me.
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)
Yep.. I also planted 5 hostas in full sun last year.
No more space under that tree, so I had them around a baby Crepe Myrtle!
AND 3 survive... one is Guacomole.
Imagine that!
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)
Red October in black pots.. that would be pretty. The leaves are more lance shape, they look like mini cast iron plants.
Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)
Just in.. 2;20 and I still havent had a smoke ... uggghhh I really really want one so bad I can taste it and am out of candy... No gum in sight and I have no munchie food.. ANy advice?
Will be back have to run after Tony @ school ....
Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)
Good evening all!
Before I forget, since Hosta is the subject....here is the 2009 Hosta Swap. I did this last year and it was really fun.
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/986080/
I did talk to Kathy yesterday and she is doing okay. She is really busy with Pamela and Missy got fired cause she got pneumonia and missed work. :O( Kathy has guardianship of Pamela now. They have had 23 inches of rain, and she said they JUST got their garden out which I guess is really late for them. She's doing okay, but says she just doesn't have time to be on the computer.
We had a beautiful day here today. 70 and sunny. I got a lot of gardening done, plus made spaghetti for dinner. Now it's time to hit the couch!
( Kim) Zion, IL(Zone 5a)
Donna
Drink Lots and Lots of water they say at least 8 bottles a day or you can take a rubber band and snap it on your wrist that will work for a minute than you'll say that enough
I got home early today and been trying to get caught up but its just not happening I just don't have time when winter comes than I will I just have to deal with it and wait and you all no How I hate to wait I have to have it now
I did make myself a nice dinner Pork chop surprise , 1 pork chop slice onion green pepper and fresh mushroom with spice It was so tender I could cut with a fork I baked that put on the grill. After I found my Fresh mint in there the bird was building a nest that son of a gun
So other than that I am ready for bed
Just checking in hope all is well
Hugs
Flaming Kim
Thanks for the info Cookie.. hostas and Sis Kathy. I am sure she doesn't have much leisure time. Good to know she has custody of Hurricane Pam.
Actually there's no special method Donna. Try what Kim suggests. Might work for you. It's just sheer willpower and how badly you want to quit.
Deborah and Judy are still smoke free. They can give fresh advice on that.
Pretty quiet tonight. Guess most are tired after a Momma's Day weekend.
(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)
OMG!!! I'm so tired. Packed my craft room well almost all of it. Need to go to Wal-mart and get some totes for all my fabric. My cousin is coming to help me and bringing lots of boxes. Think I'll let her pack the kitchen, lol. I hate having to wrap glass stuff. I use all of my dish towels and pot holders to wrap that stuff with.
Was outside checking on all my plants and discovered that I have baby fish. The morning that my momma fish laid eggs I grabbed a bunch of the parrot feather plant and put it in a big tub. I'm so glad I did because that night a racoon ate her. And the little bugger was back again Sunday night and got 16 more fish. Rick didn't cover the pond :(
So I have been cutting black berrys and laying them in his path way. Think I'll stay up and watch for him tonight and fill his little hinny with some pellets.
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)
Awww Cindy.. hope he has his fill and leave those fishies alone.
We got a raccoon that comes every night helping himself to cat food outside. He's not fazed one bit by the cats watching him eat quite a distance away.. smart cats.
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Hey Kim, glad to see you posting. Just post when you get the chance. That pork chop sure sounded good!
Joyce, tell Kathy we all said hello, and send her some hugs! We miss her.
Cindy, sounds like you are getting all organized for the move! Don't over do it!
Cody, glad to hear your feeling a little better! gets lots of rest.
Jaye, beautiful Hosta you have there. Are they a bulb plant?
Donna, congrats on the no smoking! Just run into the qwicky mart and pick up a few bags of hard candy to keep on hand. That will help, as well as drinking lots of water!
Marion, did you get your septic tank problem taken care of?
Good night all. Sweet dreams!
LK
(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)
Hey girls dang ya make it hard to keep up LOL
getting a lil irritated at work lately I don't recall what I told ya bout the 3 gals at work that seem to dislike me cause I get along wtih pretty much everyone and drivers and other co workers come in our office and visit and we laugh
well they are really really getting on my nerves.
they have had me having a fling wtih one guy upstairs and now they are making it that I am having a fling wtih the shop supervisor who happens to be married with a daughter and is also a preacher.
Yesterday I needed to find some info and it meant going out to the training trailer to look in the book I had bought and was letting the head trainer look through so the shop super was nice enough to come out as the alarm code I was told to use was not working for me so he came and helped me out and since the alarm needed to be reset when I left he stayed to take care of that for me...well while we were in there and I was looking for the info I needed one of the gals from upstairs came out saying she was looking for a training tape she needed for the re certification class Saturday ...she didn't come alone either the person that came with her is another co worker that likes to start trouble.
They were like Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to interrupt...interrupt what?????
They seem to think that anyone that talks to anyone of the opposite sex is having a fling
I found out tonight when I went to Mr. B's office to talk to him about some of the crap that she went and told him she was worried about her code being used for the trailer and then proceeds to say she is worried about something going on
I let him know that I do not and will not put up with that crap I have ben through enough in my life I do not play that kind of game ...I have had a X that went out on me and another situation of a husband puttin more into a friendship then pour marriage and I will not do that to anyone as it really hurts and sucks....I will ...If I have to and can find a cheap one get an attorney and make sure a letter is sent to the admin office in regards to slander, defamation of caricature and harassment.
I do not talk to them in regards to my personal life as they would have it all over the lot and I do not trust them.
I have seen and heard them talk
I will not deny that the shop super and I have talked and talked alot he is a preacher and has a code of ethics so I trust him and have talked to him about issues her at home and the crap at work....but it has been in plan site as my office has a door with a window plus a big window and so does his.
If I knew I could go to another school district near by and get a job doing what I do not or move up the ladder I would go and I would make sure to let the administration know just why I am leaving
I am soo hot about this it is not funny ...I am thinking I am going ot let Mr. B the head guy know that I will be clocking in and out per my time and if they need me to drive a route then they better make sure they have a way to reach me as I do not clock back in in the afternoon till 2:30 and if the route leaves before that oh well it will be late if they don't let me know
grrrr anyone an attorney or have legal advise ?????
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
I would sit down with them, and tell them just what you told us here! plain and simple and to the pint. tell them you don't appreciate the crap they are talking about, and an attorney can settle it in court! Maybe then they will be quiet!
Some people are just so jealous of others, and they are not happy till others are miserable! Make sure the boss knows about what is going on too!
Good luck!
Passing the Bailey's to you, sounds like you need it!
TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)
Phyllis, I agree with LK.
Remind them that besides being unethical, you are pretty sure it is AGAINST company policy. And he is encouraging gossip. Certainly, he is not showing professionalism.
Your work ethics is challenged here.
Seems to me that person who starts the rumour has too much free time. Someone should do a time study on her ;)
Well I'm off to bed.. good night ladies. It will be a better day tomorrow.
(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)
Been a long day....good night Jaye, sleep well.
(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)
well Mr. B after my talk wtih him tonight is not wanting me int he meeting as he could hear and see me getting irritated by it all and the shop super is too but the two of them are going to have a talk with the one gal.
I doubt it stops anything but they will know that I am not there because of my being hot over it
talking to them would only fuel the fire on my part as I am the reason they are acting this way
(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)
Phyllis, don't let them win by finding a new job. You're a better person than them. Confront them with one of the boss' around.
I have been going and going. Here it is 10:17 and I'm still awake, lol. Getting ready to hit the shower and then to beddie bye I go. Need to go to Curves in the morning, I've missed a couple of days. Also have to talk to them about a transfer. Hope I like the Curves in Auburn. Haven't put in a change of address yet but will soon.
TTYITM ^_^
(Phyllis) Flint,, TX(Zone 7b)
well talking would be fine but the problem is the head bosses secretary she thinks her S don't stink and she is all that and a bag of chips too.
see there is the upstairs group and the down stairs group as they put it and talking to them just adds fuel to their fire
the gal that does special ed sent an email to me and CC;d it to everyone else in the office saying that address changes are to go through the school because of their "arc" or something which is part of their IEP or whatever cause I took a message from a mom in regards to where her child was getting dropped off and gave it to the bus driver... before she had all the facts she sent out an email and she has learned since then that the address I gave the driver IS the Correct address that is on the child's ARC and the bus driver has been dropping the child off at a different place....but she has never come to say a thing about it to say sorry my mistake or anything she is dead set on trying to say I have a problem talking to her and that is furthest from the truth
their big issues is they are trying to cover their self's because they sit up stairs in one of their offices and talk for hours at a time...looking at peoples time, talking about the special ed gals issues at home and anyone else they want....because they are not getting a reaction from the rest of us into their game
Heck one guy took yesterday off because they have him so mad at their childish games and the dispatch guy if he doesn't get a trip or two every month he takes days off when he knows we are going to be swamped with trips.
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Phyllis, the base over here is the same way. Everyone has thier own little "click" they belong too, and the gossip that goes up and down the flight line is terrible! You just need to know that what your doing is the right thing to do, and let them have thier own little world. Maybe you need to go to the top of the chain of command, and tell them? Is there a union or somthing you can report it all to?
Good luck, but try not to let it bother you, then they win! Your better than that!
LK
I got this in the mail on Mothers day and I thought that I wood Share it with you all
Rain Day have a great day
WHAT HAPPENS IN HEAVEN
This is one of the nicest e-mails I have seen and is so true:
I dream t that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels. My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, 'This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received.'
I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and scraps from people all over the world.
Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section.
The angel then said to me, 'This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them. 'I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.
Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing. 'This is the Acknowledgment Section,' my angel friend quietly admitte d to me. He seemed embarrassed 'How is it that there is no work going on here?' I asked.
'So sad,' the angel sighed. 'After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments .'
'How does one acknowledge God's blessings?' I asked.
'Simple,' the angel answered. Just say, 'Thank you, Lord.'
'What blessings should they acknowledge?' I asked.
'If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy .'
'And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity.'
'If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day .'
'If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation .... you are ahead of 700 million people in the world.'
'If you20can attend a church without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death you are envied by, and more blessed than, three billion people in the world '
'If your parents are still alive and still married .....you are very rare .'
'If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're unique to all those in doubt and despair.'
Ok, what now? How can I start?
If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.
Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.
ATTN:
Acknowledge Dept.: 'Thank you Lord, for giving me the ability to share this message and for giving me so many wonderful people to share it with.'
If you have read this far, and are thankful for all that you have been blessed with, how can you not send it on???? I thank God for everything, especially all my family and friends!!
Blessings with love
Green cleaning products -- do they work as well? Find out now!
Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)
Good morning girls... sheesh... I missed the room change... kinda thought you were all being too quiet last night. Thanks Cindy for leaving more bread crumbs, I missed out on the first ones.
Phyllis... you've got some good advise here... I do not miss the office drama... so glad I don't have to deal with all that anymore... from the peon standpoint, or the bosses standpoint... it's not comfortable for anyone involved (except the instigators).
The only other advise I can offer is to go face to face with the instigator(s)... and just tell them calmly, and firmly... "if the malicious rumors don't stop right now, I will report you, sue you, and/or see to it that you suffer the reproductions." Then, walk away... don't listen to the lip that comment will probably cause.
Been so busy... trying to catch up with all that got left behind while I was working in the yard. Almost done... but I got a phone call yesterday... Mike has his last AFS Orientation for this semester this weekend. Short notice, and that really messes me up with all I was going to get done this weekend, so I can cook all next week. I still haven't gotten the official email about the orientation... don't even know where it's suppose to be... somewhere in Whitehouse, but don't have an address...
I also have to find a place to stay out there overnight, so I can pick him up the next day to bring him home... sheesh... this is the worse part about hosting.
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)
Good Morning Everyone!! Today is supposed to be dry and sunny, once the fog burns off. Finally!
Miss ya'll but got to get to work. Nice Hosta's, btw :)
(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)
Morning!! someone please send us a little rain, we are starting to really dry out!! Having to water daily to keep things going--worked to hard with my hosta to have them die!!! They are my babies for sure.
Phyllis, seems to me there are a few people who 1. doesn't have enough work to justify their job; 2. need to go to a training class to learn to better utilize their time; 3. They are just plan jealous they don't have the personalities to get along with others. 4. just plain rude!!!! Why is it woman especially (yes, I know I am a woman) can't get along with out vicious rumors and gossip? Need to provide them with a hobby or maybe a Dale Carniege (sp) class would help.
Linda Kay, odd you should ask about the septic tank. NOT GOOD!!!!!!! After coming and thinking everything was fixed and okay, I went out yesterday and smelled --sorry ladies--before I found a large pool of standing water. They dug it out again but due to the type and age of the tank they need to bring in some other type of equipment to get the lid (if that is what it is--they aren't sure) removed. Seems in the early 70's people did put in tanks that were solid--dumb!!! If no lid, they will have to break a hole into the tank. So I am waiting today--yes upset to the N th degree as this could have a huge impact on Memorial Day weekend.
The first time they suspected the downspout was causing a large part of the problem--the builder but the downspout from the roof under the sidewalk and into the tank--again what ever were they thinking? So please, keep your fingers crossed this isn't going to be as bad as I imagine.
Geez blood pressure up just thinking about all the things this can effect right now. HELP!!!!!!!!! Guess I had better go sew or work in the yard to calm down.
Can't do laundry, wash dishes, in fact limit water use to as little as possible until they finish--talk about a challenge.
Cindy, set a pace and please don't over do it dear. We don't want you down!!!!!
