Many many more Deborah!!!
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞133
Morning Sistahs !!!
Cindy... I hope you don't give up on those EE... plant them in the ground anyway... mine surprised me this year... thought I lost them, but they're shooting up.
I think I might try some broccoli seeds... I read that if I start them inside this summer, then set them out in September for Nov or Dec harvest, I should be ok... If nothing happens, at least it's no big loss. PLUS, the composted plant is full of nutrients for my compost pile.
Yea, my son is tapping his fingers for that stimulus check too... he really needs to catch up on paying his bills... he got behind on his elect bill a couple months ago, and just can't stay afloat since then.
Once again, I'm going to try to clean the sun porch today... just can't get motivated to get that done... but alas, it has to be done before Mike's friends arrive here Saturday... oh, and I've got to clean the fridge... found some experiments growing in there last night.
Still haven't got the 1/2" foam from the upholstery shop for the boat seats... it just hasn't come in... so those boat seats are just sitting out there on the sun porch, in the way. UGH... I guess when everyone comes for Mem Day, we're just going to have to sit some lawn chairs on the deck of the boat when we go out on the lake.
Better get up and get started... but first... more coffee.
Happy Happy Deborah !!! And, many many more. !!!
BJ, the bulb or whatever EE's have turned to a white mushy gooey yukkie blob. I had dug the ground around it to see what was happening. It started to sprout then just quit. I think it stayed too wet being by the fish pond :(
Yep... I think you lost it then. If you wait till fall, I can send you some that will like all that water... they grow wild here around the lake... I even dig them up out of my flower beds, because they end up in my compost pile, then take root in the beds when I mulch.. UGH.
You know what BJ, all I wanted was 1 big leaf so that I could make a bird bath. I really don't like them but they would look good behind the pond and hide all the ugly stuff that is in the ditch behind the pond. I had posted that link last summer and Phyllis made some and they are so neat. I know where there are some but crud they are like 20 miles away, lol.
Hi LK, what's ya been doing?
Did you all see where I posted that Audrey is back home. She said she is doing OK, but lots of re hab I presume?
I am getting things packed to get ready for my trip to Amarillo Friday.
I hate packing! I always seem to forget something.
LK
Cindy, sweety... 20 miles away is just down the road here in Texas... take a drive and go get you a leaf... it'll be worth it, dear.
Morning Fairy Legs!!! How are you today?
Morning LK... I read on another thread that you said you can't grow ferns at your house because of the heat... Why don't you try some in the shade, even though FOTV said they are for full sun... You might be surprised at the results. I have some that are suppose to be in full sun, but I planted them in a partial shady spot, and they're doing great...
I only have one small part of the yard that has any shade, and that is full of plants already. I wish I had more space, but I don't.
LK
Good Morning!
and singing Happy Birthday dear Sistah Deborah, Happy Birthday to you.
Hope your day is filled with love and hugs and planting too.
...will give you a call sometime today.
OMG, too funny, posted in the wrong thread,lol
BJ, was saying How incredible, I sure can relate to all the work you have put into your home. wow!!
All the love sure shows! OMG now I just can't wait to see it in person...ohwah!
today is a play day, been working inside and out...It's going to rain, so I am playing inside a little creating for the RWB swap, hmmmm.
Also wanted to show you what my Breenie is working on! (posted in wrong thread too)
grab a cup of coffee, and today we are having Ham and cheese omlettes, have lots because i made the lazy kind!
Be back in a bit!
Get busy over a weekend and you all go and get three threads away!!!
Donna, so glad you are back in Ohio and getting ready to settle into a house you like. You really do sound energized and it is good to hear!
Kim you are really making that new house of yours into a home with plants and parties galore. Nice to see someone enjoying the home.
I have been helping a friend who has been having to travel back and forth from Lansing to Ann Arbor for medical treatment so this has taken a lot of my time. In addition, I have 12 b&w quilt blocks to finish (1more and done by Friday), 6 baskets to hold animal toys, tools, etc. to donate to Best Friends for their yearly auction, a baby quilt for here and I would really like to make a new purse for myself. Psah, keeps me tied to the sewing machine but I love it.
My garden looks beautiful! all of the tullips, jonquils, hyacins are up and blooming + two things I don't even know what they are. Maybe I'll post a pic when I get home. The ferns and hostas and brunnera are looking especially good this year! I do have some things growing in
the wrong places, both flowers and weeds, but that is normal. I'll get out this weekend and take care of that little chore.
The things from Stacey's co-op are looking good, those that made it. At least two got eatten by a squirrel I have who loves to dig in my new plants. This time he got them right out of the pot! Weather has been so nice that I will try putting some annuals in this weekend. Geraniums and lantana are doing well in their pots outside.
Glad my Fairy Fingers is back into the land of the living! It's getting closer to my birthday and I have to decide on a sewing machine so she can have mine. Even if she is knee deep in gardening and writing right now.
Getting closer to our trip to BJ's and I am trying to get everything wrapped up. What with driving I will be gone for a week so have to get organized here.
Heck, Janice... I won't be organized when you get here, so leave it alone... it'll all be there when you return.
I just had to walk outside to see how things in the garden are doing today... and I heard this humming... it was almost a spiritual sound... when I turned around, I saw all my plants (every last one of them) with their heads bowed and praying for some sunshine. Poor babies, they're so depressed.
It's been so dark, damp, dank, and downright dismal here for the last week... if it's not raining, it's muggy or windy. I'm even depressed. At this rate, I'll have nothing in bloom for our Mem Day bash.
The dog next door keeps digging holes by my new grape vines. Every day I'm going in behind him to kick the dirt back in the hole. If this keeps up, I'm going to have to call the animal control people.
I did see some blossoms on my zukes though,
I think I lost 2 of the canalope plants... I only count 7 now... planted 9.
Question... I planted a marigold between each of my tomato plants like someone said to do... guess it's to deter bugs... but, the tomatoes are getting so big, the marigolds can't get any sun... is that the way it's suppose to be?
Guess I better get back to what I was doing...
Happy Birthday Deborah!!!!
Jaye,how are you feeling today?
Beautiful daisies, BJ. Love Mike's choice of that forlorn sunflower. He does has a food eye for subject matter.
BJ, I planted marigolds as a border for my veges one year. Yes, they don't like to be in shade. They'd be puny compared to the ones in full sun. Last year, I planted scabosias in between the veges in the strawbales.. and the bugs were drawn to them, not the veges. This year, the scabosias returned.
Put some cayenne pepper or sprinkle tobacco sauce around the arbor. That might deter any critters from digging.
Cindy, I think most marriages go through that stage. It might be he is going through depression too. You just need to write down what you feel.. everything... and let him read it, uninterrupted. I find verbal 'discussions' can sometimes lead to unwanted anger. Or worse, not getting your point across.
Hi Janice! Yep, we love to gab and post beautiful pictures. I love reading what others have in their gardens or follow one's sistah's journey, either in her garden or her new home!
And just having Stacey return to her old self is like Christmas to us!!
I can't wait to meet you soon!
Synda and Cody.. thank you.. I'm taking it easy today. My body needs a rest from the heat too. Imagine it's only the 80's .. I might be forced to start gardening in the moonlight!!
LK.. I know it's terribly hot where you're at. Sistah, I hope you wear a hot when you're outside.
Kel got a lot of veges for the strawbales, and they're windburned from riding in the back of the truck. He added cantaloupes this year and a pot of Stevia (sp). I tasted one of the leaves, and it tastes so sweet.
Jaye,you are very welcome.You just get lots of rest and take it easy.
Jaye, Thanks for the advice, but Rick and I are not married. I don't want to get married ever again. Twice was enough for me. I don't need a man to do the things I want to do.
Happy Birthday Deborah!!!! Looking forward to seeing you at BJ's!
Happy Birthday Deborah!!!!!
Sorry about your EE’s Cindy….I would love to have some of those here….especially for a bird bath. I am going to try one with my Rhubarb leaves….it will be pretty, but not the same! I also want to do a pumpkin bird bath…
Glad to hear Audrey is doing well, hope she is back with us soon!
Have a safe trip LK.
Judy give Breenie and hug and tell her great work!!!! That is going to be Beautiful!!
Janice, sounds like you are keeping really busy!
Jaye you take it easy we can't have you under the weather.
~~~waving Cody....have a good day!
Got things to do talk to ya later.
Jaye,i really enjoyed our talk.
Well,i'm shutting her down for awhile,so i will catch you gals later.
OK I will be back.need to go to town,to get coffee ,because I only have one man............LOL.
Oh that is funny Synda!
Thank you to all about Breenie...We had a nice talk yesterday, she is feeling a bit overwhelmed with the end of school papers due. She is feeling better now that we talked, and just needed to release her frustrations. whew, glad thats over, always good to get things off your chest...I know she will appreciate your hugs Trisha...She was then in a really happy mood and I said wow, whats up? ...I just loved her response, she said with a smile "it's a new day" thats my girl.
and thank you about her art too, I can't wait to see it complete too, then frame and hang!
OH Happy dance!! Joyce your going to BJ's? farout! Congratulation on another beautiful addition, he is adorable.
Jaye, how are you felling? didn't realize you are not well, get plenty of sleep, drink lots of water, add some lemmons! and Big hugs to you to feel better.
Well, Kim, woohoo, I am going to copy your topsy turvy plant holder, some ones grandaughter made one too, they are pretty cool...haha, now i want one too...Jacob dumpster dived and brought this Steaked watering thing home like two years ago, lol more junk and now thats what I am going to use, Tadah...lol I just love other peoples junk!
ok going to see if I got enough pots, skipping out to the yard.
BJ, i was telling my friend about all the work you've been doing, she thought it was wonderful too.
ok really skipping off now, see ya later.
Yes, I'm going to BJs!! Happy Dance here!
Stacey, when are you and Janice leaving Michigan for BJ's? If you're leaving before I am, you should stop here for a bathroom, drink break. We're only one mile off 75.
Helloooooooooooooooooo..............................
Jaye, I was talking to Sissy/sissy13, my cousin in Oregon. She said she got your Easter card. Thought it was real sweet of you.
She had called me because someone had a Pom for $150, and if I wanted it she was going to get it for me. But I told her no that I may not be staying here much longer and really can't afford one right now. But I will get me one soon!!!! She wants me to move up there. Yea right!!! It rains there too much for my liking. She was saying she's going to make her a rain suit so she can be outside. I told her about my problems with Rick. She said to get out of there if I wasn't happy. I told her I'm giving him until July and if he doesn't go back to work or start "ACTIVELY" looking for I job I'm gone!!!
I'm in a dark deep hole today and don't feel like doing anything. I keep crying for no reason at all. Boy I can't wait until Friday so I can get out of here for a few days, Sure would be nice if I could hit a BIG jackpot. Oh wait need money to win money. Oh well I'll play the penny machines, lol. I'm only going on this trip because I'm taking my mom. She is bowling in a tournament. I had to find someone to take my place. I tried to pick up my ball the other day and it hurt so bad, dang near dropped it on my toe. Had a good workout at Curves this morning, maybe I should go back and work out some more frustrations.
Ok went to town to buy coffee and spent $86......But now I've been to town,got goceries...yuck.Grocery stores are so tricky,the big can of Maxwell House coffee 33 oz. was $10,the little cans 11oz.was on sale for$1.99,so I got 6 little cans of coffee for $12,which would of totaled 2 big can at $10 each.Now have dinner cooking,it's a throw together casserole,homemade noodles,mushrooms,beef and broth,garlic.And homemade biscuits.
Cindy I just realized that I wore a T-shirt my momma bought me,it say "I'm Right He's Wrong....End of Story".You need one of these.
LOL Synda, yes I do.
Oops, posted on the wrong thread.
Joyce-I dunno-Judy is supposed to be coming with us too even though I haven't heard from her about her ticket yet;) She is supposed to take the train to Toledo...
Oh happy days its raining and I get the night off . I need it I did get some sleep today but felt like I was hung over and tired I did take a
Advil PM about 5:30 this Morning when I got home from work and slept till 12:30 I don't think I moved at all.But they called and no work we will try tomorrow night.
I went out and pulled weeds on the side of the house it looks nice than I trimmed some branch off a tree and turned up the dirt and thew out some grass seeds as it started to rain hope that work . Saturday we raked the yard so we will see
Judy you can use as many pot will fit it took me about an hour to do that.
Happy Birthday Deborah hope it a good one.
I have this ceder brush tree in front of my house and it is square it has hosta under it I want to trim but I have no idea how to do it or what I should do or if I should move the plants
OK I guess I should show the Brush. Any help wood do me good
Flaming KIm
Dearest Kim.. I wish I know how to trim a cedar tree! Maybe if you remove some of the lower branches.. might give the hostas some head room.
Judy and Trisha.... as hard as I try to stay healthy.. I can't help it if I'm prone to sinus or respiratory infections. I guess I can consider myself lucky, that that's the least of my problems. Waiting on that day to come when there's a cure for diabetes..
So sorry Cindy. Staying together carries the same challenges as married people do.. except that you don't have the legal papers. But, it would be easier for you to get out of that relationship. For your sake, I hope Rick gets moving.
Synda, weren't you going out just to get coffee?? Lol!! If I were to send Kel for just one item, he'd return with at least 5 more, telling me that he can't pass up on good deals. Of course those good deals end up in the back of the fridge or the canned goods will be something only he'd enjoy!
I did a trade with Nichole who was my craft buddy. Anyhoo..................... she sent me some cool smelling candle scents: Baby Powder, Margarita,Mountain Sage,Mint Leaf and Chamomile and Citronella. Cool just in time for me to make some candles for my bithday camping trip.
I'm going to be doing inventory on my candles and will be putting them on sale. Probably will put them on the Marketplace. So if interested LMK and I will keep you updated. Then when I can afford it, I will be buying wax so I can use up all these scents. I have a game plan, hee hee.
We should set up a person to hold money for us and then send them our spare change,so if and when Cindy is ready,it can be her bail-out fund.......LOL.
This message was edited May 6, 2009 8:10 PM
I nominate Synda as treasurer for that fund.
Oh Synda, you are too funny.
This is my game plan. I want to make up a bunch of candles and make gift baskets of different varities. I thought about ordering some of those garden gloves,and making small herbal pots etc making gardeners baskets. I could do like a lavender for relaxtion, etc.
I can be treasure......I hide money from Rick all the time......and sometimes myself........LOL
