NO...NO...Mama Jaye, iwould like to see my ducks and geese stay alive while they are with me.I would love to have a Peacock, but they are 50.00 just for one, plus they are not that friendly.I would hate to have to kill something so beauitful that would hurt my baby.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Jaye, Jersey Giant is hardy for zones 4-9... and there's lots of 2 year roots out there to purchase... I'm only going to plant 10-12... I think in three years they should produce all we can eat... we love them steamed, pickled, and any other way we can fix em...
I'll be growing them in a raised bed with broccoli plants since they're both perennials...

Raleigh, NC

Praise God! DH and DD just walked through the door. been trying to call them on mobiles. we're getting 3" rain per hour, quarter sized hail, tornado watch is now tornado warning. Funnel clouds sited within 300 ft of our old home and in downtown. Flash flouding. they just went to Michaels for supplies for her school project.

Praise God! Praise God!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Goodness Maid M. You might have to rent Pot-A-Potty till that get fixed.
Crossing all finger and toes... and eyes, that your summer plans will not be dampened!

I didn't know that about peacocks.. vain creatures can be cruel then.
Yep, Cody, forget about the peacocks. Alex comes first.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

BJ, asparagus needs their own beds, they don't like being crowded. Those 10 to 12 that you are going to plant could give you 100's. When I was a kid it grew wild around my swing set. I munched on that stuff all the time. Mom would get mad because when she'd want some for dinner I had already eaten the good ones. Hee! Hee! they should have not put my swing set there. ^_^

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Dry today here Bonnie, but I PTL for some little rain we had yesterday.
Hope you be spared of harsh weather Bonnie, especially tornadoes.

Okay.. will try Jersey Giants BJ.
Cindy, I never had fresh asparagus until I came to the states. What a difference in flavor.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I think it is one of my favorite veggies. I must try again here. That's if I'm still here come fall. Rick and I have been fighting a lot. And I'm getting sick and tired of listening to his smart remarks and sarcasm, constantly yelling at the dogs to Go Away!! Oh I could go on and on. I'm just not happy here anymore.

Raleigh, NC

watching the weather, that's all that's been on the regular channels right now. Randall says he could hardly see to get home.

OK, I'll look for those Jersey Giants too.

the flavor is so different, isn't it, Jaye? like a completely different vegetable.

broccoli is one plant I cannot get to grow here worth a bean. too many cabbage moths. it's one thing to grow nice looking head - it's another to steam it and watch all the worms come out - YEWWW!

Raleigh, NC

oh dear Cindy! that's not much fun to live that way. but we all go through spells...hope that's all it is.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Cindy come live with me.....no earthquakes,no tornadoes,no hurricanes,no volcanoes,just snow in the winter.Just Redneck Country....LOL

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Me too!! I have not spoke to him all day. I've been in the back bedroom sewing and watching tv. Sure will be glad to get away this weekend. Too much togetherness right now. If we had a piece of property and he a big shop then it wouldn't be so bad.

I have 5 broccoli that will be ready for picking sometime towards the end of this month. Haven't checked my brussels sprouts yet. Must go do that now.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Oh Synda after seeing your beautiful porch I would love too! LOL

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

Cindy it's hard i know i live it to. just try relaxe i mumble under my breath shut up just shut up one day he heard me said i didn't hear you tell me to shut up did i? i said yes you did. so he likes to give me silent treatment not talk for days and days. been as long as 2 or 3 weeks to.. peace quiet then..

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Two Cindy's and two Rick's that could be fun..........LOL.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Hey! Hey! I'm not bringing him along, Synda lol.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL...ok I'm easy.....But boy could we have fun.My Rick is sooooooo easy going and he is working 6 days a week so just me and you.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Set on the porch, drink coffee, tea, lemonade,Margaritas,Pina Coladas .........what ever.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

OK be back later...NCIS is coming on the TV and I love that show.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

NCIS!!! Our favorite show!!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

If I tell him to "Shut Up" he says "Up shut yourself it hurts" is that stupid or what. He watches Sci-Fi ALL day long. He says that "Dancing with the Stars" is stupid, he calls it "Dancing with the Faggots" , but none of his shows are stupid. We do like some shows together like CSI. He doesn't like CSI: Miami because he thinks David Curso (spelling) is gay. AARRR!!!

My friends tease me because we met online. They always make jokes. My mom does NOT like him at all because of his smart remarks and sarcasm.

Things were so good when he was working. He has even given up the thought of looking for a piece of property. So I don't know how much longer I can do this.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I have 2 more hours before I can watch that. Love Tony DeNozzio ^_^

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Cindy-I am so sorry, to say that I know how you feel in an understatement, but my situation detail wise is different. I hope that you two can come together and I can hope that if he realizes how hurtful his comments are that he can learn to start thinking before he speaks. Oh, the stories I'm sure we could share......

Hugs sweetie!!! Wish you were coming to TX:)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Just a quick note to let you know I got a dmail from Audrey, ans she ask for me to post, and tell you all she is home, and doing OK.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yep Stacey, I wished I was too. If he would have been working all this time I would have my plane ticket in my hand right now, lol. Just seeing pictures of BJ's is telling me how much fun you all are going to have. Beings we don't have any plans I think I will go stay at my mom's. Rick's stepdaughter wants to come up and bring her boyfriend. Everytime she calls it's a new guy and he is the one. I told Rick the only reason she wants to come is for a free motel room. She did that to us once before. Showed up on Dec 26th didn't leave until Jan 4th. Never cleaned up after herself, the boyfriend did. Found empty pizza boxes under the bed next thing I know there are rats in there. I had put out some dcon and it came in the house up on the bed chewed the pillows then died in between the pillows. I didn't know it until, I needed somthing out of that bedroom. Oh man what a stink!!! Told her that will never happen again.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, Cindy... I'm so sorry you're going through all that with Rick... I've been there with my ex... it's not easy... hope what ever you decide to do will make you happy.

I think I'll heed your advise about the broccoli... I just learned that nobody has much luck with it in Texas... so, I'll just scratch that one... unless I grow it from seed, and just expect one season out of it... some places it's a perennial... but not here.

BUT... I have lots of room on the lower level... eventually will all be tropical gardens... to plant some artichokes... they look tropical, and need lots of room... perennial... and multiply... and last for 3-4 years, producing more each year.
We love those too.

Marilyn Glen st. Mar, FL(Zone 9a)

Oh bless you Cindy. I do know how living like you are living feels. I did it for 10 years, but no more.
The only smart thing I did in that ten years was hang on to my place here.,,struggled at times to hang on to it, but managed. And thank goodness I did, I had a place to go to when I finally got the backbone to leave.
He could say anything to me he wanted to say, no matter how hurtful, but honey let me say what I would want to say, and that was a different story. I would just keep my mouth shut, but one day, from somewhere way down deep, I got the nerve to talk back, and when I did , it was just 'SHUT-UP', but the look on his face was precious to me. the look of disbelief! How dare I tell him to shut-up. After that day, I decided on a plan, and I told my youngest son, only if he would help me, could I leave. And I would need his help to stay gone. Well, that was 3 years ago, and honey, I am still gone!
I love my life now. I have time for my children, grandchildren, and all my friends. Money is not flowing like it used to , but money does not buy peaceful sleep, restful thoughts, nor mental health. Those things are priceless, and I have them now.
I love to do crafts, and I like restoring things, whenever I would mention doing any of these things, the remark would be, why would you want to do that, and then he would put obstacles in the way to where I couldn't do any of that.
Now I do what I want, when I want, how I want, if I want. I love my life now, I am me again, and if you don't have you, you can become a miserable person. Life is to short to be unhappy.
But only you can decide what move is best for you. You live the situation, and you know how it is behind your walls, no one else can know all that. But whatever you would decide, there are people who would support your decision. You have to decide what is best for you. No one takes care of number 1 except number 1 in some cases.
Just my opinion.

Mike and I were just playing photographer tonight ... taking some studio shots of daisies... we made a makeshift studio set up in the hallway... too cool.
Sheesh, remembering all the little tricks from my photography schooling was a task and a half...

Just think positive happy thoughts.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Morning Ladies,

Thanks for letting me vent. Hopefully today will be a better day. I think I can get outside and finish my planting. I've got glads and lilies that have sprouted in the boxes, lol.

BJ, you right broccoli probably would not do to well where you are. They are a cool weather veggie. Either early fall or early spring. I don't think mine are doing to great. I think it's taking them too long to mature because I've found flowers on them. The weather here has not been exactly right either, they are tall and spindly :( At least all my flowers are looking good. The one I received from Deborah have all put out new growth. Except the EE, it didn't survive. Those daisy are pretty. I think I planted some somewhere around here, lol. The one spot that I had chosen for my veggie garden gets too much shade, so now I need to fill it up with shade plants. Sure wished that $250 stimulas check would get here. You can bet I'll be at HD spending it on flowers ^_^

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Deborah!!!!!
