Awe, Cody those babies are so cute! So you are going in the bird business huh? I wish you lots of luck with all those babies!
LK
Thanks LK,yes,i'm going to try and sell baby when these get old enough to lay.
I used to go to the Asparagus Festival in Stockton! Did you get to go this year? Have you ever had the Asparagus Ice Cream?
Nice porch Synda! I think we all want it! Rick is a trooper, there's no way Dave would have done that!
Pretty flowers, I want to grow more iris than just the bearded that I already have. I need to find a place to make an iris bed.
I called in sick at work today, don't fee good, slept til noon!
Teenage years are so difficult, especially for girls and all of their hormonal and physical changes. I would definitely check the computer, just in case, but you're probably right with the boy thing, I used to Never tell my mom about boy problems, Never.
No, Crissy I did not get to go. Rick doesn't like it. Drink lots of liquids and rest. That's what I did. I finally feel like sewing so I'm making the apron for the swap. Also making a Memorial candle for Chris. I copied her husband picture and I'm putting it on a candle with her fav fragrance Drakkar. I'm thinking that is what colonge he wore.
Well, Ladies... it's been a busy day here... but I haven't even started cleaning this dirty house... had some errands to do, and other running for my son... then, I realized that today is the 4th anniversary of our buying this house... yep, closed on May 5th, 2005... left the Title office and went directly to Lowes to buy paint, sand paper, and all the stuff to start getting at least one of the bedrooms decent to camp out in while we worked on the rest.
This is a pic of the nightmare we bought 4 years ago... I couldn't find the original first day pic, but this one was taken about a month later after we changed the back door, and built the fence on the right of the pic...
This one is the street side... taken on the day of closing May 5th 2005.
Are you absolutely sure that is the same house? Beautiful results!!! You should be extremely proud and I know you are. Great JoB.
Thanks Marion... I am proud of what we've done... but it seems the more we do, the more we plan to do... we started out on a 5 year plan... it's now moved to a 10 year plan... sheesh.
BJ, absolutely amazing....you Should be proud of yourselves.....!!!!
Absolutely beautiful....baby and blanket....definitely good timing. He is definitely precious!!
OMG... that's two in a row for you here lately, Joyce... you done yet?
LOL
He's so precious !!!
Thanks Trisha... it's been a long hard journey... seems like longer than 4 years... and then, of course... we've gotten off course a few times too, throwing in projects that weren't planned on here and there...
I just hope that we are finished with all the BIG stuff before Don retires...
wish I'd learned to speed read. just finished the last room.
susan - next time find a couple computer places that can extract data. My computer got like that. Randall took it to Intrex and they retrieved all my iris data and photos before they reformated. cost $70. worth to me: priceless. I would have lost my "seating charts" for all irises, thousands of dollars worth.
fairy girl - if any of the ones you bought from me are toast, I will replace for free. I like having satisfyied customers. only caveat is that I dont have all of the same varieties this year. sold out of some and didn't reserve as many as I should have of others. Had no idea black iris and orange iris were so darn popular!
bj - Don and Randall may not be kindred spirits, Randall's terrified of the words "some assembly required", he usually yells "MOMMMMM!" when he sees those words. but he absolutely adores RCT.
trisha girl - Yakima is where we went for asparagus ,too! that's store canned stuff is a joke, nasty. the real freshly steamed is to die for, and healthy! if Cindy says it can be grown in CA, then maybe here too? or are we too wet? I thought it was too hot. oh now I gotta have some. the hops growing up the telephone poles in Yakima always had my attention, too. never saw anything like it, trellises of telephone poles!
Thanks ladies!
Yes, he makes number 11. 5 boys and 6 girls. The last one was just January 30th.
Not sure if we're finished yet. My son is "fixed", but his new wife would like a baby and he has agreed to have reversal surgery. So we'll see!
Here are some names of Asparagus and where they grow:
California U.C. 157 West Coast
Roberts strain of Mary Washington East and Midwest
Rutgers Beacon East and Midwest
Waltham Washingtion East and Midwest
Vicking Northern regions
This is the book I have. I have alot of these little books.

BJ, your house has come a long way, and for the better I may add! Nice job you both have done!
Joyce, congratulations on the newest addition to the family! he is so precious. And that blankie looks very comfy.
LK
Bonnie-I don't even remember which ones I got from you to be honest-I got from you and a trade and 2 co-ops. I do know that 1/2 from the one co-op, (not Dee's) bit the dust.....the only one I know for sure I got from you that didn't make it was one I don't even know if I paid for or if you just gave me-Pink Kitten?? The one I am most sad about is one I got from another place called Lunar Frost-I REALLY wanted that one and neither of them have any green:(
BJ-I can't believe that's the same house!!! HOLY CANOLLI!!!
Congrats Auntie Cookie!!!!!
Dang BJ!!! your place is awesome. No wonder you and Don are thin peeps. Look how busy you stay. You two will live to be 100 if ya keep that kind exercise up. Just beautiful!!
LOL... sheesh, Cindy... it's those hard labor days that make me feel like I could keel over tomorrow... yep, some days it just way too much.
Holy Cannoli? hehehe... yep, it's the same house... know how you can tell?... just look at all those big windows on that sun porch (all 22 of which we have to replace when we remodel back there)... and just look at the lack of windows on the street side of the house... all of which I hope we replace someday.

Correction, Cindy... Don's a thin peep... I'm not.
Cindy... I'm going to grow Jersey Giant... suppose to be hardier than most, and is suppose to be a good one for Texas. But first, I've got to get the bed ready this fall, and let it sit all winter before I plant them... so I won't buy them till next spring.
Uh well then was that your twin sister I saw in the pix with LK. taken when you went to that RU last summer? Your thinner than I am, lol that's for sure!!!!!
Gorgeous house BJ! Worthy to be featured in HBG. You and Don have the discipline to finish a project.
Congrats Cookie. Colby is so precious! You should start a grand baby market business!! Your family is so blessed.
I slept all afternoon. All of a sudden, my body kinda 'drained' out. Sacked out on the recliner, telling myself, just rest for a couple of hours.. and I woke up just now in sweat! Maybe I need to cut back on the minerals.. I've been on the go lately.. my body's not used to being active :D
Cindy, indeed that's so nice of you. I'm thinking of getting her something from a Christian store.. along with a card. I tend to wait a couple of weeks, before I send a condolence card. It must be so hard on her.
BJ, I might do the same thing. Always love asparagus. So do Kel. Made a note to prep a bed in fall. Wonder if Jersey Giant will grow here. Gonna check up on it.
Maid M.. what's the verdict? Hope it's just draining the tank and not replacing it.
Gosh Stacey... back in Singapore, being fair is considered the epitome of beauty. Young girls will try to avoid the sun's rays.
One sister is considered the most beautiful due to her creamy skin.. me and Zi, being the brown ones... Mum would say she'd found us at a bazaar :D
I can tell you plenty of ways to cook a duck or a goose. Cody darling.. will peacocks be next? They will certainly add charm to your lawn.
And all that free fertilizer too.
Okay.. going back to finishing my apron. When you want it to be PERFECT.. God says... "Ha! Ha!"
Don't know the verdict just yet. The rains did start so he called and postpone until tomorrow afternoon--then I forgot tomorrow is installation for the students who made Spanish Honor Society and I promised I would help Kim with the setting up and decorations for the tables. So I might have to cancel until Thursday if it looks like I will be running late. Just holding my breathe as this has been really concerned now. Bummer could really spoil all my plans for the entire summer--hoping it doesn't!!!
