Stacey, you're a very passionate person, and a good book draw out all the readers' emotions. I'm sure it will move us to tears too...

Glenview, IL

Good MorningSistahs All!

Wow, I am so excited for you Bonnie, going to nationals, how fun, and good for you. Your DH what a sweetheart.

Kim, Concratulations on the Derby win!! Woohoo. Sounds like your BBQ was a grand success, should have crashed it but i was carless on Saturday. I am so happy for your fun time and win.

Stacey, Awwww, isn't it great to get everything on paper. I'd like to read your story, if you don't mind sending it to me...

BJ, Thats going to be a great arbor. LOL, was wishing Mike came to my house and check out the powerwashing. How did he like it?
Was telling Steve I want to get it going and he told me...Power washing is a "manly" job! hahaha, told him to be a man then and get it done!roflol, he just gave me his famous add it to my list looks.

Well, I had a wonderfully busy weekend. Planted and re-potted, Then just sat and watched the birds hop around the new sitting area.
Moved Jumangi in among the roses. So far 2 rosesand I am thinking I would like to add splashes of miniature roses.

Trisha, Sage is very creative! Looks, like she has great teachers...How is your scultures doing, are you still creating the trolls and fairies from the book?

OK waving hello to all...got to go dig, ended up having to hand till, my tiller is out of commission, grrr, man I am so bummed about that.
Going to be another beautiful day.

Judy, my eyes are drawn towards your clay pot man! Whose boots did he rob? You are so creative, and that bandanna.. was that painted around or truly a cloth bandanna.

Might have to hold back some of his favorite cookies, to get that power wash going, Judy!!

You've just reminded me to check on the old tiller...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Judy-I think I am going to wait until it's done to send any more of it out. I have part of it edited, and have part of the ending done, so it's kinds choppy right now. When I's done I will make sure to email it to you.....

Glenview, IL

Thanks Stacey, look forward to reading it whenever your ready.

Jaye, Thanks...Jamanji was amde by Lizrainey and myself...She has a couple of them and i just adored them, so when she visited last year that is one of the yard crafts we did. Liz, also sent the boots, got them from a garage sale, they are cute little alagators! No, the bandana is real, lol swiped it from one of the kids friends, she kept leaving it here so thought i'd put it to good use!
Thenm we made those leaves, roflol this was taken from Betty's idea of rubarb stepping stones, I wanted to make some too, but no rubarb, lol my leaves were made with weed leaves, lol all the sudden can't remember the name, those thistle pain in the buttes!

Oh theres an idea, my Steve is a bronnie nut...so I could maybe bribe him with a fresh batch! lol, will add that to my list.
Hope you get your tiller going? What on your agenda for today?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Liz is one talented lady!
Judy, I just asked Kel to check on the tiller.. and he said, let him 'snore' over it!! Lolol.
Will be sewing an apron for that apron swap.
You started it all Judy. When you told me you'd be sewing an apron for your 'tiny' friend, since then I've been sewing some aprons as gifts too.. but most of them are not tiny!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Thanks for Breakfast Jaye, had to grab and run.....somehow my Sunday Night alarm got turned off...at seven this morning I was so tempted to turn over and go back to sleep when it hit me that I forgot to go over last night and put out my MIL's garbage can...she is out of town until this afternoon.....luckily she only lives about a half mile from us, but this is not the way I like to wake up in the morning.

Brrrr.....it is a bit chilly and the clouds are coming in....we have rain and high winds predicted by early afternoon so doubt I will get anything done outside today.

Stacey, sounds like the book is progressing well, can't wait to read it!

Morning LK, Robyn, Crissy....

Hope Cody gets her power back soon......we are really lucky here....used to always have power outages in this neighborhood....first to go out and last to come back on....then they went to under ground wiring. Since then I think our power has only been out one time, for about 15 minutes.

Jaye you can't imagine how much fun Sage has been having with the clay. She getting much better at following the book instructions. Laura has been giving her tips, showing her how to smooth seams and we are getting ready to show her how to use tinfoil cores so she doesn't have to use so much clay in projects.

Judy you've been busy! Haven't done anything out of the book recently...been reading some new books and making a new set of clay tools. I have one little Gnome that will go in the oven later today but that is about it.

BJ it sounds like you need to take a rest! Your grape arbor is going to be sooo beautiful, sit back and enjoy it for a bit.

Very calm out right now so guess I should take the dog out for her walk before the weather comes in...she won't be a happy camper once the wind comes in.

Glenview, IL

Oh how neat Jaye!

I did have lots of fun making aprons...Fairly easy and wonderful gifts. I actually now have made some pot holders, with the extra materials..for my sisters birthday, she is a chef so I made them custom to her hands...she loved them!.geesh forgot to take a picture...oh well they were squares lol.
My friend is coming on Wednesday, She is making some pot holders too, so will be a fun thing to do together, well i will be embroidering my my blanket...a couple weeks ago she came and we made a robe for her BF for Church, lol we called it a curtain, but he really like it alot., now he wants us to add a pocket on the inside for his bible...So well see if she brings it back.

Yep, Liz is very talented, I just love some of the neat thinngs she comes up with...LOL, she keeps me busy!
our next thing is the squirrel feeders...got to get on the ball with it or shell beat me...A big giant race, lol.

Sooo funny, tell Kel to have a good snooze over the thought.

Ohh, now I think I might join the RWB swap, missed it last year...
Speaking of which, Cindy, Thank you so much for that web site, decided I will order it!

And Donna, Awsom about getting the house you wanted!! Congratulations.

Oh my gosh, I am quite blabby today!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, it is finished. I helped him stain it to match the deck... even though I didn't feel like it. He put conduit across the top in a grid for the vines to run across... can't see them very well in this pic, but they're pretty cool.

Jaye, he got all over that arbor because he's thinking that maybe he might like to make his own wine someday... we'll see about that. Grapes are also his favorite fruit... that's why he worked so hard on it.

Thumbnail by bjwilson
Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Then, he right to work on mowing the lower level...
I was going to go down and weed eat, but the weed eater is broke... one more thing to put in the shop now.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Judy... I got to tell Don about that... he thinks I should power wash the house... hmmm...
Mike thought it was going to be much cooler to power wash than it really was... once you get started, it's a pretty boring job.

Hello,

Still not feeling to good. Don't know what is wrong. But I had to take a picture of this Iris. It just opened sometime over the weekend. I noticed it when I went to Curves. Shouldn't have done that I was a little too weak.

Anyhooooo here is..............Whispering Spirits

Judy, I want to see how those pot holders turn out. My next project will be table runners. Trying to get an early start for Christmas.

Trisha, you can read that I'm more inclined to turn to the sewing machine. Sage is certainly a pro already! Wish she's near me to show me how. :D
Poor Kel, each time he grabs for the clay, something else requires his attention. Maybe after the trip, he'd set one hour aside just for his hobby.

So, Don's thinking of having his own wine label? Awesome!
This area has lots of grape growers, besides tobacco.. and yet, I do very poorly with grapes. Got to be my soil. Trying to grow Concord and one that starts with "S".. forgotten the name.. then there's another cutting given by my church sister. so sweet and seedless too... if it makes it. Unfortunately, once they fruit, I can't have but maybe a handful. Oh well, the neighbours' kids will get to enjoy them.

So pretty Bonnie.. I bet folks slow down to enjoy the view of beautiful irises blooming in your yard.

Kim, you're gonna have a nice summer picking up veges and fruits. You're becoming a real farmer! I'd love to try growing asparagus.
Tell Moe maybe she could look forward to another honeymoon!! Good news indeed on your nephew getting accepted by the team. They'd teach him self discipline and I'm sure he won't do anything rash to throw his opportunity away.

Aww Cindy.. we all take turns to feel lousy. Hope you get better soon. If you feel much worse tomorrow, please see the doctor.
Are you nauseating.. throwing up.. getting headaches? Will say a prayer for you sistah.

Yeahhhh.. Cody can take a bath today!!!

Raleigh, NC

does anyone know a good variety of asparagus that can take our cool winters? I know the ones we had in WA can take the heat, they were hotter than here, but they also got a wee bit more cold as well. someone said they needed that cold spell, which we don't really get so much here in Raleigh.

I adore fresh asparagus, and Kim reminded me of that. asparagus was wild in WA.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm wondering Bonnie, if we can't grow asparagus, why do the box stores here carry them?
I've never attempted growing them.. what do I have to lose but a few bucks and 1/2 hour's of Kel's time!

Danville, VA(Zone 7a)

Hello Ladies,
Well I am back and on my laptop... I still don't know what was wrong with it but I lost all my pictures and I mean pictures... I was so upset over this... But taught me a lesson to copy them faster from now on... I did a virus check and nothing and I did a defrag and a clean sweep thing and it found nothing but it would not let me on my computer so I did a restore to an earlier date and that did not work either... So I had to reformat the hard drive and that is how I lost everything... I could not afford to put it in a shop so I cryed a few tears over my lost pictures... But such is life in my world...LOL
All the pictures are so pretty of the outside things... I have pictures to download from my camera so will send a few down the road.... I have to reinstall allot of things yet... I lost my spell check from the tool bar and I am lost with out it...LOL
Kim when are you working? I am doing paper work up to my eye balls... I have not been the best in keeping records but here to I have learned and I am trying to get it up to par now...
Ok you all are the first I have typed that my puter is up and running... I may not be able to get back on later as lastnight we had tornado warnings and tonight they say we suppose to get bad storms...
I hope everyone stays safe and I will be back in a few out of my shell....
Hugs,
TurtleChi-Ninja ^_^

Cindy-LOVE that iris!!! I went out and made a list off all the iris that actually have green on them-I bought about 15 last year that are just toast......

Cindy-Devil Baby has a bud!!!

Nice to see you Susan!! I lost all my pics last year when my hard drive got fried, now I upload them all into picassa-just in case.....

Glenview, IL

woohoo...Everyone has got some beautiful flowers!

OMG BJ your yard is stunning!! Don did a fantastic job on the Arbor too...
Love your gazebo deck, spectacular...Hey we have the same screenhouse!! Steve calls it the birdhouse, lol.

Jaye, I'll take some pics of the pot holders we come up with. Have you shown your aprons? I'ld like to them, ??? are they half? Are they full? My friend want to get some rooster fabric so think we will have to take a trip to Hancocks.

Kim, you did a great little garden...

Cindy, sorry your not well. I hope you get better pretty fast.

So here is what I did today, now I am just exhausted, think I'll take a rest and dream some more...Then will get the rest in the ground.

Welcome back Susan! We're lucky it didn't cost us a bundle to have ours fixed. So sorry about those photos being lost. Make new memories!!! Or back up your new photos.

Judy, I didn't take pictures of the ones I made. Made a couple with cats, one coffee apron and one for Cody. Cody had posted hers some rooms back. Hers was a rooster print, with fowls backing. They're all full aprons.

My back's giving out from all that standing..

Just read Vitamin E's good for warding off alzheimer. Looks like I'll have to buy a case of it!

it's 36"X45" and costs $6.99

Judy love your sitting place

Also I wonder if I did the Asparagus planted wrong I covered the crown and left all that stringy stuff out I never planted this before

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I will have to find a quilting store next time I am in San Antonio, or maybe on my way to Amarillo this week-end!
Thanks for the info.

Hey Ladies,

Growing asparagus is NOT easy. It takes third crop to be really good eating. They are a spring veggie. They have to be heavily mulched thru the winter. I've tried twice now and no good luck. I would plant them, they would come up the first year, leave them alone, then they would come up the second year, leave them alone, but come the thrid year, NOTHING!!!! So I give up!!

Stacey, hooray for Devil Baby can't wait to see it.

I have been trying to post a picture but it just won't go through.

I found a book I had on Herbal Remedies in Pots. All kinds of plants to plant for different common ailments. I found one for arthritis and menopause so you can bet I will be planting these pots soon. Why I haven't done this sooner is beyond me.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy, you got my attention! I'll love to try alternative healing. So far the minerals perked me up.
Okay.. will be back later.
See me later everyone!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

I'm trying to post a picture of the pots. They are really neat looking.

Here is the front cover and that pot is planted for Tension. You can make teas and salves a really good book.
