Dad is going to go and live with my youngest Brother in Canon City, Oklahoma next week, so that will give me a break for the summer. Dad is looking forward to go and live with him for awhile! I will drive up to Amarillo Texas next Friday, and meet my brother half way, have a good visit with my oldest son that lives there, then come back home.

If you haven't seen pictures of Riley and her daddy, they're in the old room. You'll be amazed at the likeness.

Bonnie, weren't the hostas covered by the tarp too. Quite brazen of the thieve/thieves. I was invited last year to attend an SA RU by Tropicanna, just couldn't do it. Moreover I'm not one to tag all my plants so tis not fair to the others :D

I truly believe it will get published, as your book is not the cookie cutter sort.. just replace the names, everything else remains the same.

Will be missing church as I'm still coughing, but will do a little shopping, pick up some rugs.. get new shoes for the reunion. Can't go barefoot...

The sunburn I have on my upper back, neck and shoulders is freaking killing me!!! I can't wait til tomorrow when it turns into a tan.....DH of course laughed-he usually has the first burn of the summer from mowing, but he usually doesn't tan as well as I do;)

It's stil raining here. Right now it's pouring buckets. I need to get outside to check on my flowers that aren't planted in pots yet. Hope they are ok.

I need to watch the weather today and see when we are getting more to know if I need to water a few things I transplanted or if they will get a good drink soon enough...

Yes they are, but I need to get outside to get things planted. I just received my lilies last night fedex dropped them off sometime last night. Found them this morning on the washer Rick must have picked them up off of the stairs when he went out for his last smoke last night.

what kind of lilies?? I just planted 12 different varieties yesterday-asiatic and LA-that I'd gotten in a trade and from a friend.

I got 12 Asiatic, 6 Oriental, 6 LA Hybrid, and then there are two Tiger Lily Black beauty coming later. I got them from the co-op from eflowergarden Bert Bleek

And as far as I can figure you should get for $15 on the 1st place win would be around $772.50 ( Rick is good with math) But anyways............. CONGRATS on the win. all the hostas were there after all. in the dark I couldn't tell because the tarp was loose in the back and the plants in the back got wind damaged. without their lush hosta crowns, in the dark I couldn't tell they were still there. have heard that I can plant them and cut off the wind damage, and they'll send out new growth AND babies!

anyone know hostas well enough to know if this is true???

Dang, it's 10:00, and I'm just now with my first cup of coffee... Don and Mike are still asleep. I tried to stay up for them to come home last night. Mike sent me a text message around Midnight to say they were sitting at Dairy Queen to wait out a storm. I did hear Mike come in at 1:30, but I haven't a clue what time Don got home. They first delayed the game for rain, then stopped the ballgame 2ce for the rain, and he called me at 10:30 to say they were still in the 5th inning. Of course, The Rangers are the slowest team in the league anyway, but SHEESH.

Suppose to rain more today... DARN... and Don was planning on building my grape arbor today.

Bonnie... YES... snip off the damage of those hostas, and they'll be fine. They might be slower than other hostas coming back, but next year, they'll be fuller and lusher.

Jaye... You will surely need some shoes here, dear. I'm battling the weeds here, and 'specially the ones that produce stickers. Plus, Don drops a lot of nails when he builds... don't want anyone stepping on any of them. I usually have a pair of flip flops by the door to slip on... unless I'm going out to work, then I wear something more sturdy to support my ankles.

ah me. I've missed y'all. and I'm bummed I won't make the get together Memorial weekend. getting together with DG friends is so special. everyone on the RU thread is talking about how it's like a family reunion.

I am hoping to get back outside-maybe get a good burn on my front to match the other and even me out;) Need to wait about an hour for the sun to move then I am out to get my last bed all weeded. I have some work to do on another one and finish diggin out the one I started last fall still.....

Bonnie, glad to hear all of your plants are there after all. Just took a walk around the yard, the Azalea is blooming, my Hops are going over the patio cover, will have Iris shortly and everything is looking good.....just need to finish planning and get the empty spaces planted......Herbs are looking good and I have Garilc coming out my ears!!

Don't know how happy the Landlords will be, but they don't take care of the front as they should, so I am going to start working on some plantings there.....if they don't like it they can tear it all out when I move......I am so sick of red lava rock. They do hardly any weeding in our front yard as they are supposed to, mostly because I won't let them spray chemicals all over......their guy doesn't Pull any weeds he just walks around spraying things so you have a bunch of dead weeds instead of green ones!

LK hope you have a restful summer and I imagine your dad will enjoy the stay with your brother.

I am still sore from Thursdays bike ride so begged off riding today......want to get a bit of cleaning done, then finish up a Gnome (have been putting of painting Eyeballs) and work on Garden plans for a bit.
