Oops, forgot, the hydrangea is called "Endless Summer"
Got some annuals I am behind on posting at my GPS thread so I am off to do that as I try catching up on things here today!
Everyone, you have such wonderful beauties.
Just one question.. I am thinking either my plant that I call japonica is missnamed or the one listed above is. I will have to post a new pic of mine and compare them, but I am pretty sure something is not the same!
Ok, will do that later. First must catch up on the things I am behind on! See ya in the GPS!
May 2009 in the Garden
Well I am back from the GPS... ...coming from here....
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/982535/#new
And on todays hike I gathered about a dozen pretties....
The aroma of the lily of the valley was heavenly I truly am going to have to pick some to bring into the cafe.
Dark purple iris.. hmm terri, I just mow mine and that is it too, but I have seen such clean iris patches elsewhere and well, grass is the scurge in my beds everywhere here. I think that is becasue we also get so much rain and ponding. The beardeds though are on a raised bed. They would never make it on a level bed in this bog.
Well, terri, whadaya say we sail on over to the new cafe? I hope its open.
Reel in that there fish and we will go see how the plantgeek is doing and all the rest. I think she is on your boat now. Is your hair dry from taking a splash! Glad I could bring you aboard on my little "MINNOW"
If all works well for me, I will be taking more pics and be back here on Monday. Maybe by then my wisteria will be more open! Man look at those buds!
I will do mor tomorrow
Hi Yardqueen, Great to see all your flowers, I'll be back later for a propa look, got to go out!!!
Yardqueen, those are lovely! Your roses are awesone. We spent some time pruning our climber yesterday and tying it up. I only have about 5 roses and am not very good with them at all. Do be sure to visit the new thread about ponds, bogs and water features at
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/989396/
And tell us more about what your water feature has in it!
The hub and I are just taking today easy. We did do a wee little bit of gardening. Mostly he supervised and I planted some tomatoes and I repotted the peppers to larger pots and potted up some baby cherry tomatoes that volunteered in the patch we were planting. So I am going back out there to enjoy the sun!
Have a great day!
Well, we took another hike to our woods and low and behold we found a few scurges.
First starting with this a-hem viney not so lovely to which I think is poison oak. I am not positive on its id so anyone who can verify with me, please let me know. This is I think the first year we are seeing this or either that or I am just noticing it more.
And this scurge to which I know positively is poison ivy. Can you imagine, we have about 10 acres of natural land and about 60-70% of that is covered with this nasty. It grows everywhere up in trees like this monster here and tons of it on the floor of the woods and in the prairie. Our habitat is not very "friendly" with if you are the type that is allergic. They say that poison ivy anymore is considered a "super" weed. It apparently thrives on poor air quaility and so places where there is a lot of air pollution, you can often find poison ivy.
