That is very pretty! I don't have many irises...
May 2009 in the Garden
Love your Irises too!
Well, yardqueen, I am calling it a night, catch more of yours and everyone elses tomorrow!
Blossom, I'm done too! I get really sleepy when I post pics!
BB where did you get the camera, can you return it? Sorry you are not pleased with the way it handles, sounds like a lot of extra work and you already have enough of that.
I got the thing through the phone company. First I had a RAZOR phone. It was great for pics, but crappy at burning up batteries and this was the third time I had to replace that one. Well the darned warantee expired so I could not get a Razor and had to settle on this el cheapo to get me to the "free" upgrade that my contract says I am eligible for in July.. does not it figure the warantee would be up and the thing would go down and does not it figure we would need the dang phone because we are having emergencies? Grrrr.. the junk they make today. Well anyway, I am gonna have to suffer this beast until July. Hoping that the upgrade has the video capacity too. I really use the camera a lot. Say none the less for the phone being that it is our lifeline. Jeez. Makes me sick so much time replacing stuff that breaks or does not function well and they told me they were having issues with the darned batteries overheating to which the thing gets so hot, that the one time, I swore it almost burnt my hand.
Then they screw ya into signing a longer contract and you are about ready to tell them to shove it. Trouble is is they have us all over a barrel because the other services has dead zones and we cannot afford to have the dead zones so we have to go with them to be able to talk anywhere in the country and it is a pain in the royal bottom with this replacing faulty stuff and being trapped because the other services have more dead zones where you cannot calll. Grrrrr.
You just cannot win these days. Then the service.. OMG, if I here the very words about how sorry they are... Makes you just want to scream.
You just end up taking the good with the bad trying to get the best you can afford with everything. We have had several different systems already and Jeezy Petes.. aint a one of them perfect that is for sure.
Oh what an awful barrel they have you over. It will soon be July and you can upgrade then I hope with the contract renewal. Try to simmer down until then and all will be fine.
I got a newsletter today that had articles on poison ivy, sumac and oak...says dont push your luck even if you are immune..the oils can rub off on someone else that is not so lucky.
Are any of you lucky to be immune? So far both the hubby and I are and we have been known to mow it, walk through it probably but not intentionally pick it and so far we have been lucky not to garner the itch... How about yous?
Lord knows the monstor size plants we have of the oak and ivy here.. sheesh!
Well heres the article...

BB that camera must just be exasperating, I can feel your pain. I so look forward to your photos and with this thing just can't appreciate the whole effect. Don't fret too much the season will still be going strong in July when the contract is renewed. Have you posted over on the camera thread perhaps there is a program that will easier convert to a larger photo?
BTW I don't get poison ivy, as kids we used to play in sumac and my mother was so concerned she got us the shot for it and boy I got it big time and then never again and that was 55 years ago!
No, have not tried that thread. I did get them a wee tad larger.. but the resolution sucks. Dagnab it, I am soooo spoiled on that other camera. This is going to be a painful month and some weeks.
Well, this pic is not tooo awful.. least the color is exact. Iris -
We get lot of ticks here. Infact I just had one crawling on me and it was huge. Thank goodness he was not attached. He is now in the septic system... crushed and flushed! LOL!
I love snowballs! Don't think they grow down here. I see pictures and they look like HAPPY plants!
It's great to see everyone's flowers, they all look fantastic!
Yardqueen, I love your Hibiscus! What are your daytime temps like now? It seems it wasn't that long ago you were taking things in and out because of frost.. extreme weather conditions you have? Our growing and flowering time seems slower but longer. We don't get the heat here that you have in Texas!!
Blossom, I like the look of your panicur in the praire, I haven't heard of that one. Snowballs heading your way!
Candee, Beautiful beautiful Peonies!! Love the clematis in bloom by the lamppost.
Thanks all, May has been a packed month for flowers, it's fab to see them all so far.
Candee, Blossom, and Yardqueen - what a nice array of flowers. I just put in the rest of my vegetables, and a bunch of dahlia tubers that I got from a very generous DGer from the Dahlia forum - he was giving out a flatrate box of tubers to the first responders - I was number 22 and I got a box!!! was so excited to get them.
Soils that is cool! There are lots of generous DGers here! I am sooo happy for you.
Well, I have been dodging, what else but more rain drops. I have about 9 or 10 pics I took today... mostly iris and a few misc. plants.
Here is my blue flag. Its not a very pretty pic as the flower itself was windwhipped so its missing a petal. Then of course my miserable camera.. the color is off and not clear. But I tried! LOL!
WOW, what gorgeous pictures! No irises in this area, but I had them in Ca. LOVE them.
I love the Batik, look tie dyed and smells like GRAPE.
