BTW, I haven't seen the girls to give them their gifts--both families have been passing in the night with our schedules. They are getting ready for their ballet recital and thus some extra rehearsals--especially the youngest one. She informed me that her dance will be : "shaking my little butt to the Jonas Brothers!" Ouch! to much for this Grandma. I never know what she is coming up with next.

Stacey and Synda I'm in both of those co-ops and you're right some peeps are just down right mean. My Begonias were sent back to Kathy as undeliverable. I had not veven received a dmail that they were being mailed out. Who ever did the glad co-op I was in did a good job even posted all of our dc#s. I was also in the Passifloria co-op 3 of my plants didn't make it, one was dead when I received it, but according to the hostess alot of them didn't have good root balls when she received them so she tried to send out the good one and keep the not so good.

Anyhooo since today is May Day, I want to share with you some May poles I made for my mom's bowling banquet two years ago.

I wished I could put them all together theres 8 of them

Oh Marion, I bet it is going to be cute. My grnaddaughter is in gymnastics and is always doing cartwheels or jumping on things.

Auntie M, I am writing, then when I hit a spot that I am not sure which direction I want to go, I am going back and separating chapters and trying to fix as many things in formatting, spelling and grammar as I can while adding in some suggested phrases from Jaye:) And I changed a lot of the names to make them more realistic for the area.....

This one is about Dancing Around the May Pole.

My Mom said that when she was in school they would make May poles then dance around them on May Day

Oh I remember the May Pole and dancing around them. That was a really big deal when I was growing up. They were tall poles with brightly colored ribbons hanging down and you would go in and out with the others so when you were finished it looked braided on the pole. Oh what fun!!! Hummm, maybe we should revive the tradition! Kids today just don't know what they are missing.

Cindy, my GD doesn't know it yet as she would be uncontrollable, but her dance costume is a ladybug! You bet I will be front row, center. Won't have to figure out who her Grandma is! LOL

Good Morning all well my niece came this morning at 7 and cleaned my house which is great now I can do other things its cold outside and cloudy and I do want to work in the yard.
Hey does anyone no how you wood hand thing on Aluminum siding? or if you can like wind chimes off the gutters and I have a red,white,blue star that I also want to hang on the wall any ideas?
No work today so I have the hole weekend free I think that I will have a few people over for the Kentucky Derby. In the Morning I will go over to the OTB place and place some bets one of the 3 times I do bet. Than good for a hole year.

Kim, do NOT hand anything from the siding unless you can find a stud on the outside wall but then you'll have to go through the sideing, insulation, then into the stud. As for hanging windchimes from gutters get S hooks. Rick is going to get some chain and string it from post to post so I can hang all my chimes and they won't slide back and forth on the gutters

Mike was telling me that they have May Day Festivals in Austria... each community steals a tree from a neighboring community, attaches it to the top of a pole, and they celebrate around the pole... picnic food, music, and lots of entertainment... he said it's a sort of "welcome to spring" thing there.

Marion... I'm using some soft plastic garbage bags, pretty much the same weight as what the upholsterer used, and she said they'll do fine. Of course, I'm covering it with vinyl, so the sun won't be so harsh on it to crack it. I'm sure it would be fine to use something like that on your cushions too under a fabric cover, since it's going on a porch, and not out in the harsh sun.

I think Mike and I will go to Kristi's play tonight... starts at 7pm... and he's really looking forward to it... although we watched the dress rehearsal last night... so we already know what's going to happen.

i never heard most of them its nice to feel light hearted, did i say that don't think i ever have..lol.

I am having computer problems and I am in safe mode as I type... I just wanted to tell you all so you don't think I am hiding in my shell... If I can't find out what is wrong I will have to put in the puter shop.. Hubby has puter but I hate using his... BUT I will if this still is going on... So I miss you all and have a wonderful weekend if I don't get back here...
