Stacey I love your white Bleeding Heart. Mine is all done blooming, so I think I will bring it home from my mom's.
This is Disco Music
Stacey, I may have the wrong names on some of these Iris' they are 2 yellow and bronze that look so much alike, Whisperig Spirit and Bonkers. Oh and i do love Fingerprints and No I did not get your email.
Just had a plane lose one of it's engines....had to dump a full load of fuel and make an emergency landing in Seattle....they had just taken off for Korea. Really didn't need to see that since I just put my son on a plane this morning!!! At least this plane has landed safely and no one was hurt.....but sure is scary!!
I love yellow,I even want a yellow car.
OK-I'll email it again....
Cindy-I set it-let me know if you still don't get it
Oh Stacey how pretty. and guess what? That frog on the right side of your porch. I have the same one, lol. it's at my mom's need to bring her home too.
What lovely blooms--I am surprised at how much you all having blooming as there isn't that much here just yet. Well, okay we had the azaleas and dogwoods so I guess I should complain. Synda, if they need sun I am totally out of luck! thanks for the offer. I have a lot that is heavily shaded.
Stacey I got the email, Thanks
which frog?? The one on the corner in front of the pot??
I see Cindy and Stacey showing off....
Wish tulips would work in Texas... but they wont... darn.
I had 2 wonderful conversations today... Stacey is such a joy to converse with.... THANKS NEICE !!!
And Jaye and I laughed and fussed a while... well, I fussed, she listened.
THANKS JAYE... I needed to hear your laugh.
Jaye... here's the brug I was telling you about.
This is one of the little ones I started from a cutting... actually, took a cutting and cut it up into logs, and 9 of the 12 logs I tried, rooted... She's a Pink Beauty... and has 2 "y's" ... her sister in the other corner of the deck has 3 "y's"... and they're both about 2' tall.
I'm so proud of these two girls....
I called Jaye for the fist time yesterday and had a ball!! Her cajun accent (or is it creole-I don't want to get it wrong) was awesome-I can't wait to hug the guts outta on her!!!
AND... I'm really proud about my clematis... don't know the name of the cultivar... but I planted several of them along the fence 4 years ago when we bought this house... as of last year, I hadn't had much luck with them... just couldn't get them to grow, climb, or bloom very well...
Well, now they're going wild... I put lots of Cotton Burr Compost on them last fall, then sprinkled some cow manure over the compost a couple months ago... they've been in full bloom since early March...
Nelly Mosur
Had to look at the plant files... but yes, looks like you're right... Nelly Moser.
I have an eye for some things;) Like fine men!!LOL Tell Uncle Don he better start practicing, otherwise he might tire out too quickly!!
You gals are bad!! Nice clematis BJ. I haven't had luck with those either but am trying one more time this year. Let's see if I have this right, feet in the shade, heads in the sun. Is that it?
That one I shot the picture of, is in mostly shade (not deep shade, but gets hardly any direct sun)... the ones I have in full sun aren't nearly as big as that one yet.
Don is so out of practice, Fairy Lips... he'll never be able to keep up.
NO, you aren't bad, you are double bad!! That is BAD!!!!!!
Yes-that is right about clematis-for the best results, the bottom needs to be heavily mulched, and they should be in full sun. Plus you should research what group they are classified in for trimming. I try to get group 3 I think-trim em all the way back every spring, but one of mine is a group 2....
Hmmm... funny the one I have in shade is doing so much better... some of them get scats of shade throughout the day as the sun passes by some branches, but they're not nearly as full... and the one I have in full sun you can scarcely see... really scrawny... but doing better than it has in years past.
I don't cut them back at all... goes to show how much I know.
Synda... Don's famous words are "I'll have my girl get with your girl"... he'll never make a decision.
BTW... Tomorrow is Mike's birthday...
It would be so cool if he got phone calls from some of you to wish him happy happy... dmail me if you want his cell number... it's a Dallas number, not an Austrian number... LOL
Nice yards, gardens, and flowers everyone!!!
Bearded Iris are extremely easy to grow, they'll grow pretty much anywhere.
Wow! I planted two brugs a few weeks ago and wondering if they'll make it out there in the heat. Something is eating them too, plus before the rain they were getting pretty sunburned. I was worried about that but have no where to put them where they will be able to show themselves off. They are growing very quickly though.
ya'll, I'm so totally bummed out. my friend's case, the jury came back against her claim. it all turned on one document. it was a short note from her doctor. their copy had one more sentence, which made note that the accident caused her injury, proving her case. without that sentence, it directly refuted her case, noting only prior existing problems. they had a copy of the note from the doctor. but the letter was written to the insurance company, and the defense put it into evidence.....without the last sentence. her attorney didn't notice, until it was closing arguments. he showed his copy to the judge, but he had rested. the judge said he had to use what was submitted into evidence. we still don't know if it was intentional falsification by the defense, or a mistake by the doc.
my friend got so mad, we were trying to calm her down, think I've told y'all before she can't control her emotions anymore. we were to meet at a restaurant for a late lunch/early supper, but then she called and said I should just go on home. Me being the only one that showed up in court every day all day with her. Her family never showed up, nor did any other friend. guess I've now figured out she's alienating other folks besides me. God bless her, I hope never to be in her shoes. It's like, my great aunt alienated all her family after she was widowed by being alternately super whiny and then super mean and nasty. I'm beginning to wonder if she's also getting alzheimers.
may I never have to walk that way, Lord.
that's for letting me ramble. I picked up my new glasses on the way home ! hey, the trees have individual leaves again! LOL
and the Dear Lord opened up a lot of irises in the last few days while I wasn't watching. here's a photo across the tops....front bed
Crissy, try this... and I'm going to repeat it for everyone here... this recipe keeps the bugs from chewing on your leaves... they don't like the taste. I spray everything in every bed... and my fruit trees, and small trees (I'd spray the big ones too, but I can't reach them).
This is the only thing I've found that doesn't hurt the beneficial bugs that I like to keep around...
1/3 cup cheap dish soap (orange scented is best)
1/3 cup ammonia
1/3 cup white vinegar
I combine those in a 1 cup measuring cup, and stir.
Then, I use 1/4 cup in a 2 gal pressure sprayer, and fill with water.
Spray everything... saturate the leaves... even spray under the leaves if you can.
It takes the entire cup of the recipe to do my entire yard... but if you have any left, store it in a jar with a lid at room temp...
It's best to spray early in the morning. AND, you should spray once a month because it will wash off.
Wow, what beautiful flowers you all have. We can't grow lilacs here, it is too warm.
BJ, thanks for the recipe. I will mix a batch up this week. It will stop the grasshoppers, right?
Bon, sorry to hear about the court case. Can you file for an appeal?
Good night everyone.
