These liners turn any old barrel into a rain barrel.

Coffee Break #10 - Summer in Spring
Oh, Georgia. Bummer. I want to do a driving tour of waterfalls this summer, but I think Georgia is too far.
I like that Victor! Know where we can get any barrels?
Love limas, especially little ones. Around here they make lima bean pot pie. Never had it, yet.
Glad you are home, Louise, and enjoyed your trek north. Those are beautiful falls!
that liner is great Victor... now if I only had a flat spot... LOL
I like lima beans, son and hubby give me theirs out of the mixed veggies.
What do fiddle heads taste like?
Welcome back Louise, you were right near my parents house in GA, it's in Cornelia.
Was at womens group from church tonight and the lady who hosts it at her house is a gardening fanatic also...I need to bring my camera next time I'm there....her gardens are beautiful.
I love limas ans hate squash, just ask IrisMa. The family used to eat it all the time. Glad you're home safe Louise.
If I didn't say it yet, welcome home, Louise and Hank! Is it like a vacation, where for the last little bit you can't wait to get home, and then the last little bit of being in the NE in the fall you can't wait to head south? Or is there too much too do overall that you don't have time?
From where I'm lookin, they've got it made in the shade! LOL! Nice to have you back!
Welcome home Louise. It seems you brought some sunshine with you. Thanks! ^_^
Welcome home Louise & Hank!
I just got back from a much shorter trip. A real highlight was the Harry Leu Gardens in Orlando. really wonderful. anyone else ever been? The garden tour at Epcot's Annual Flower show was less than I hoped.
One technical point. I'm pretty sure zuccini is a summer squash. So is yellow squash and a few others. They are squash harvested in the summer (As opposed to those harvested in the fall which,of course, are called winter squash.
Glad you're better Harper.
Who is Harry Leu, and what did he do??
We always called zucchini, zucchini, except when we used the Barese name, which I won't attempt to spell. We called yellow squash either summer squash or yellow squash. Glad I'm not in the southern hemisphere. ^_^
I like both of them. In fact I really like them cooked together, the yellow and the zucchini, quickly sauteed before they go soft.
Lima beans and peas go in the dog's food.
Was it something that sounded like : "cuked zeel"?
Zuccini bread is the best! Mmmmmmmmm!
Yep, my kids were just tricked into eating zucchini that way
In the dog food, Dave?!!
Yes, that is it, Dave. I always called it 'crooked seal'.
Yes Loiuse, sauted togther- absolutely wonderful.
Hi all!! I won't bore everyone with individual responses to all of the lovely "welcome home" messages above, but I sure do appreciate every one of them!! You guys really know how to make the heart feel warm and fuzzy. Thank you so much!
Victor - yes, the falls are in Georgia, and well worth the trip to that area of north Ga. and western NC. Harper - our intent was to hit as many waterfalls as we could find in the area, and it was such a lovely way to go!! Route 441 in north Ga. and NC is a great waterfall route.
Flowerjen - have you been to Toccoa or Tallulah Falls??? That's a very pretty area your parents live in!!
Carrie - We feel so fortunate to have such neat locations to spend our year in, so it is somewhat like you mentioned.....Hank is defintely ready to return to each location when the seasons change, and I do love it when we get there, but I'm not as natural a snowbird as he is. I want to take way too much with us each way - including my plant babies. I guess I'd confess to being a cumbersome aspect of our journey, but Hank is so so patient with me. LOL I guess I'd have to agree with Phoebe though....in many ways, we are so forturnate to have it "made in the shade." But - it does take a bit of effort to make it work. Without my computer lists and notes on all of the services to connect/disconnect, I'd be sunk!!! It's actually pretty fortuitous that each of us grew up in these great places and it's so much fun to share that with each other. I must admit though that New England is my emotional home in so many ways, even though I was in my early 30s when I landed here.
Weez - yes, I am happy that the sunshine followed us back!! Enjoy!! LOL
Here's another waterfall we happened across on our morning walk in the Smokies. That's me taking a break to soak up the nature.
Beautiful shot, Louise!
Thanks, Victor........we really loved this spot! This was taken at the end of our 2-mile walk.....so peaceful!! And the dogwoods were fully open throughout the woods.
nice spot Louise!
We actually haven't been to either one. We always drove by Tallulah and we always sung the name ♫Taaalllllullllaaaahhhhh... I know we're weird....
We did find another waterfall park (I think it was in NC) driving down one year on the Blue Ridge parkway....we lost the roll of film of all the pics taken at park....It was beautiful, we have no idea where we were.
Glad you and Hank are home safely, Louise! And the waterfalls are so picturesque---so soothing. Love the sound of falling water-----birds love it, too. Those of you who don't like yellow summer squash should try it in a cold, curried summer soup----I make it with yellow(wax) beans as well.
That sounds good, Robin. I love curry.
I like yellow squash in a salad, and love curry too.
Thanks, Allison. By the way, your red ti seedling looks like it might have made the trip ok. I put wet moss around all the plants and they went the whole 9 days without having to be taken out and watered. Good thing!!!
Jen - make sure you go to Toccoa the next time you are visiting your folks! I don't mean to sound wierd, but it was a spiritual experience it was so lovely.
Thanks, Robin!! I agree about the soothing sound of water. At my sister's I fell in love with the cool fountain my BIL made for my sister out of a simple antique water pump and a wash tub. We still have the antique water pump from our kitchen before we renovated it a bit, so I'm going to try to nudge Hank to help me make one after he has worked like a slave here for the next month or so. LOL Here's a shot of my sister's fountain, which is on the deck just outside their bedroom window.
My mom owns the house there...trying to sell it... Dad passed away in 2004 so we won't be going back that way.
We have friends near Atlanta so maybe if we ever visit them...but I'd need a REALLY good excuse to go to GA...no offense to any Georgians out there.
The sound of water is wonderful. That's why I want to do my fountain project for the front - eventually!
That sounds really really good!
I was referring to the curry soup.
Louise, I love the fountain your BIL made. When Hank is done making yours, could you send him south? The sound of the ocean is the best lullaby I have ever heard, but trickling water is a close second.
I had a trickling fountain in the bedroom - made me pee too much.
Sure, Weez! LOL
Victor - funny you said that....my sister admitted that sometimes it makes her have to go during the night. LOL
I wish they had a separate forum live chat available on here...seems lots of us are on here tonight.
I was just thinking the same thing! They do have it on Tue night.
But I am a forum snob and don't want to talk to anyone from another forum.^_^ just kidding
True - a forum one would be better. With no AUP!
