Coffee Break #10 - Summer in Spring

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oooohhhh! Antiques! I love looking at antiques.

We have been affilated with this shop for 3 years in one way or another. Right now we have 2 wagon wheels here for sale.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Thank you Candyce! South Carolina was a great trip, but that's where I got this flu. The first few days I was there, it was c-c-cold! Down to the 40s and super windy. Also, the people I was visiting were sick. In spite of all that, I still had a good time.

Since it's not currently raining hubby is mowing the lawn before it gets totally out of control.

My DH mowed some SiberianPurple ones right over - the bone head....

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

They be fine Sherrie...if anything it will help the clump get bigger. ^_^

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

What is it with men and their mowers?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Boys and their toys!

Yes - More keys = more toys.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

"bone-head"--ha-ha-ha-ha! Dunno why--tickled my funny bone...:-O

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I think my DH would prefer bone-head to weiner brain which is what I call him when he mows down my borders.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow - where do I begin?!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

ummmm, ok, how weird is that?

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

14 live birds? However was THAT accomplished? No. I don't really want to know.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Guess that would make a total of 15 birds?^_^

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh my!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

No, Victor. 14 birds and one bird brain!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Smirk.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Darn! 'Ghost Hunters' is a repeat tonight!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I just said the same thing!!! lol

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I thought you might have!

Thomaston, CT

Yuck---bird doo? How obvious was that? I guess birdbrain is the right description.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

What? You guys don't watch American Idol??? Allison got sent home.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Yes, I watched, and thought she sang better tonight than ever before.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

oh well guess I don't need to watch that one on the DVR... LOL

poor Allison... I was pulling for her... wonder why

:)

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

The judges kept harping on their perception of her shyness and insecurity--I thought she really overcame both this week. I think the judges overly influence the voting with their comments. I have a friend who parrots their comments every week while presenting them as her opinion.Don't think she is alone according to the voting results. I still enjoy the show though.

I actually never liked her until last night. She should do well with time.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

One Wish--Watch your DVR--Paula Abdul does an amazing dance on stage...isnt she 50 ish?

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Yeah, Paula WAS AMAZING!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

She(Paula) looks great guess I need to start dancing some more.

All this rain I keep having to dump water out of all my potted plants.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Just don't do a rain dance!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

LOL!
Yeah. I'm gonna hafta dump water as well out of the containers. It's still drizzly, though, so I can wait a bit.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Do a sun dance, maybe that will help.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Mayish showers will bring more flowers. It's pouring here right now and I'm doing a dance of joy.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Paula is still pretty hot. I never watch AI but I might have to look for that on YouTube now!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Jen, do you keep your outdoor potted plants in saucers? For me, they usually wind up sitting in water for too long, then I worry about mosquitos. I also just bought a ceramic tile drill bit so I can drill drainage holes in my pots that don't have them. I guess they were designed as cache pots originally.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Some of them are, there are a lot of seedlings in flats. I've haven't had this problem before. All this rain is crazy!

I think I broke my paper shredder.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Oh, yeah. The flats. That is a pain in the butt. Once I bring mine outside, I either put them under my deck or somewhere where they won't catch rain. It also shelters them from the harsh sun. I can commiserate! I hate draining rainwater from my flats.

Hope your paper shredder's okay.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I never use saucers for that reason.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Yup. I stopped a few years ago. It was driving me nuts. I like to keep my pots an inch off the deck or soil. I want to get more of those little pot 'toes'.
