ok

:)

Checking to see what I have accomplished - this is not including the seeds I collected.

83 packages "so far" - as you can see some from the Round Robin. I think I am ready to pass out.

Edited - OH OH where are my poppy seed packs - I have some missing!

WOW Sherrie - my back would be killing me!!

Yes Bill - those seeds are definetly heavier than Rocks!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wow that's a lot of planting.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

funny sherrie - rocks do not hurt my back yet anyway - standing still and settings seeds on the other hand is painful

As I was typing my message about waiting for my order from Blustone, I decided to check tracking...it was already delivered...didn't even hear the truck. Woo hoo!

for my blue and yellow garden

Thomaston, CT

I have some Sundrops---they do quite well in the shade, & don't spread---in the sun, they really take off.

Rockport, ME(Zone 5b)

Those are gorgeous pictures. I have some reddish spiky things coming up that might be Sundrops, hope so.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

The blue one with the black eye---gor-geee-ous! I'm not familiar with it---new?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Sundrops spread like crazy and transplanting is extremely easy.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I don't know if it's new.... here's it in white

Yeesh, I found a whole ENVELOPE of seeds that was delivered in Jan. and I tucked it away in plain sight and forgot to REopen it when I was doing seeds! New experiments in seed longevity!

Rockport, ME(Zone 5b)

Oh no....surprise! Are you going to give them a try for this year? I've left seeds in the fridge for a couple of years, and they still have a pretty good germination rate.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Jen thats the love plant, don't have it in white but I have had the blue one for 2 years or so.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

This is not new for me -- I always lose seeds! Most of the ones I found I had been planning to wintersow (I don't do cold stratifying, nicking seedcoat, blah blah blah, WSing does the whole package so well!), but some annuals for which it is not too late (by my calendar) I will still try to do this year. Thanks for asking!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I just have direct sown annuals and herbs left to do.

Thomaston, CT

Like Carrie, I'm pretty much through with planting seeds---just going to do my Morning Glories.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Here's a euphemism I hadn't heard before: "economically self-sowing" - ha ha ha I'll show them "economical self-sowing!"

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

My weeds are very economical.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

When I return home from work--will post photo of my weeds--quite lovely!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL

Rockport, ME(Zone 5b)

Yikes, that's right, I have to find room somewhere for the direct sow seeds (which are still in my fridge). Oh well, motivation to go dump soil on the cardboard that I've used to kill the grass....voila, new garden area.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

There ya go, Drumlin, good thinking.

Just came in from doing some weeding and digging up for Ric and Holly's swap....it's very sticky out there.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Drumlin, at least the cardboard made it on to the weeds! You are 3 steps ahead of me!

Coleus looks luvly!

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Allison! All the beautiful coleus that you gave me at the RU last summer ... and they thrived and grew (unlike MY order from Rosy Dawn, my fault) ... and then I took cuttings in the fall and they were doing fine ... I pinched and rotated and everything was going great ... and then this family of MICE moved in. They ate leftover Christmas candy, they chewed through my underwear (they like 100% cotton!) and they dug holes in the coleus. (I guess they were looking for a place to nest or tender roots to eat -- root-candy, I dunno.) I tried to rescue it but I'm not sure yet. I'm so sad! I was doing so well!!!

I am standing IN my GH. DH is dubbing around as he put just the 2 ends togather. He said he has to see what he has to do.

nice

Thomaston, CT

Your plants look great Allison, Jo Ann, & Sherrie----sorry about the mice, Carrie----I had that happen last year. I wanted to weed today---washout!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

looking good Ge & Sher.... sorry to hear it Carrie

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Carrie, were you wearing the underwear? I hate when that happens!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Sorry to hear about the coleus carrie :(

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, everyone, for your warm wishes. David, thank goodness, I was NOT wearing the underwear, but I could just as easily have been wearing it, you know! It was shredded! And I never dreamed they would nest in a potted plant (especially when they had all that nice clean underwear)! The one good thing to come out of it is a string quartet for middle school kids called Mouse Wars!

Allison, I REALLY hope you are coming to a RU because I've now gotten addicted to coleus myself.

I have a Sensation Lilac that I think will be to big when it is grown up so I don't even think I will plant it. (I've been growing it in a tub sio DH doesn't mow it down again.) It is way too big to mow down now, but I think I should get one that is more dwarf. Does that tempt you?
