This I thought would totally not be of interest to the boys, only to find out they just loved their 1 1/2 hr. wait until the tour..infact, had to drag them out of the bldg.

Debbie - When did DM pass? I must have missed something. We still have boxes from my DM that we haven't gone through....and you would laugh at some of the crazy things I just haven't thrown away yet....

Liz - they just laid off 900 at my company yesterday ...as well as dropping the 401k match....not a great day....maybe a good time to start looking around.....

Well you all know my struggles with DS. Just not motivated...embarrassed to tell you his grades....

I just went online to check his act score....and I was pleasantly surprised.....he is a Junior and this is his first time to take the ACT...and he made a 19! A 20 in Math and a 22 in Science...but english / reading was low....

You might say - well that's just average...but I was expecting more like a 16 so I was so happy. If he retakes it and makes a 20 ....he will qualify for LA's TOPS program....which pays for college.....

Happy day! I'm so proud....now just have to figure out how to motivate him to get better grades!

Mary, my Mom passed away on June 20th. There are threads (now up to 23) on the entire process of what our family went through with my step father, and then my dear Mom. It was quite an ordeal that lasted almost 3 years.

I now have a box with "Elvis" in it. My mom loved Elvis, so those will stay with me. I have kept several Christmas shirts, that I will attempt to make a quilt of sorts with...I have no idea how...but will try something. They are on "knit" material, but I wonder if I attach it to a cotton fabric, I can make something.

Mom also collected snowmen....and I mean...snowmen! They were up in her house year round. So, that is another of my "sorts" I must do. We are moving her "hutch" over this weekend, and I will be able to put my favorites in there. Along with her tea & coffee cup collection.

I understand Debbie - my DM passed Nov '04 after a year and a half with Pancreatic Cancer...

We are still going through some of her things.....

It's a good part of the healing process....although I know I'll never be the same person I was before...

Meant to say Mary, I had such a crush a a boy when I was 15, he must have been 17, name Vic LeBlanc...a familiar name in this part of the country...

You know, most likely one would have to say, 'how could this much be happening in Betty's world'..as soon as I got home I walked over to Bernice and Cliff's..always a kind word and always up, we say a 'prayer' together as they are active if not the moving members of the church..prayers meetings at their home...

Bernice was cooking mac/cheese for tonight's prayer meeting..didn't want to stay long, just wanted to touch base..she looked tired tonight..we had a little gab..Michelle, whom you might remember praying for a few years ago, hubby on drugs..went to steal 'copper wire' and electrocuted himself...then before Christmas I told you about Michelle because her daughter was looking for her father, found him, they re-acquainted and married almost weeks after meeting again? Well out he went 3 weeks ago, very controlling, difficult etc. etc. so that was terribly upsetting..Michelle is my friend who does staging..good news though, she's moving into a house 'rent to own' about 5 up the street, so she'll be close and I can help keep an eye on her..she's gorgeous, she's so talented, she's artistic, downfall, believes she cannot make it on her own without a man...drats and more drats..she's going from one bad situation to another simply because she feels she's let her family (children) down having no father for them...


Imagine...I'm sure within the next while, we'll all start to see sunshine in our lives...

Tired, dropped of the screen for big window to have one made and one re-screened, went to Fabricland, bought curtain rod and new curtains for dining room and now I'm too pooped to pooop so if I get into painting clothes I can lay on the couch until my class arrives..

Betty you hang in there girl, I'm still sending T&P to you all the time.

Judy, sorry sweetie I couldn't talk when you called, room full of students..

Janice whom works for the Ontario Provincial Police started painting again tonight..she is one of the loveliest ladies, so full of life..said she was worried about our friends in common..the friends who had the Sunday episode..so she stayed longer than the others just to gab...Rita did not come tonight as she felt she needed to keep an eye on DH..would have been worried the entire class...maybe next week..

omg, be glad when this week is over..Vera came in quite upset, her cousin who is a teacher went to Nicaraugua (?) think Judy that's the name right? know I mentioned it when talking to you, anyway, a group of teachers went there to build a Christian based school... it was an extremely hot day so all went swimming, her cousin lost his life... his friends reported to his wife that all were enjoying a swim and in came a giant size wave, watching from shore they described it as almost like a hand shape wave reached out and pulled him in ...he was 38 with 6 children....the family is of course devastated... been waiting for the body to be returned but so much red tape...not sure when he will be returned here for burial.....another terrible situation...

Can only add prayers for all in need..

Sometimes we see sunshine and sometime darkness in our lives...It's been darkness most days...

At the funeral home today one of the women came to talk with me, she said if a person has but a couple of true friends then they have indeed been blessed in life...I told her that the Lord has showered me with many such friends, earthly angels walk with me daily...for this I am truly thankful...
I am thankful as well that you share your lives with me and that I know I can come here and someone will always have a kind word, a prayer, an uplifting comment...you are all so dear to me, each and every one of you...

Calling it a night, tomorrow is a long day...classes in Barrie in the evening so off I go..

Betty, you are always here for all of us.....you have had more than your share of bad news this week and it is important to us that we are her for You as you always are for us. I know how difficult it is when so many things happen in so short a time span. Please take care and know that it is OK for it to be all about you for a time....we are just happy that we can be here for You.

Oh Tubby, my dad would have loved those kitties.....all he ever wanted was a pet skunk....mom wasn't having any part of that!!! Us kids thought it was a great idea!
However, didn't like the one the dog cornered under our bedroom window!!

Hello. Does anyone here know what kind of insect bites/stings at this time of night? I was just sitting at my picnic table cooking out & something bit the fire out of me.

Mosquitos are making their way around here....

Could be a lot of things, but best guess would be mosquitoes. They're here already, too. And yep, they do bite!

Morning, going to be a sunshine day here, already see the sun coming up, did the walk through the gardens and even the lilac trees are about to have leaves, early for sure...
