well then I guess you don't need to worry about food;)LOL
Best/Worse &What did I learnt today/Chat with Friends #101
Good to have a plan though Crissy..some will follow it, some don't think it will ever happen..so guess you just do what you know..and you are correct..
I'M going to STOP talking to family and friends..just talking to Sharon, he adopted daughter is back..so much trauma..mentally she's not all there, they because of phychiatric assessments had her abort a few months ago if you remember..only days after she ran away, then came back..this has been going on every 2 or 3 weeks, lots of theft going on in the home when she visits..Sharon said last theft was $1,000..she must have lived on chips, chocolate bars as she's now over 200 lbs. not much more than 5'1" more than 60 lbs in a few months..she's with Sharon these past few days..not going good..
Aren't I depressing these past 2 days...
Stacey, have you put your sewing aside for writting?
I see Sharon has MSN'd me, would it be terrible if I don't respond to any of them again..just so depressing..
LOL Stacey!!! Got a stove???
I agree with being prepared, but how prepared is enough? I mean, a self-composting toilet, Really???? Let's just park the 4-wheeler in the hallway. Someone could spend a fortune planning for something that may or may not happen, and food only lasts so long anyway.
Betty the only two people I talk to in my family is my mom and dad, that's it. Don't need the drama from suit happy people or strung out idiots. Maybe that's mean, but oh well.
all of these friends/family members have overwhelming difficulties right now it's just coming all together..don't know which way to go to help..I'm sure I'll figure it out..can't just expect friendship you also have to be willing to be a friend...so, best I put everything aside and be that friend...
Hello,
My goodness Betty, I am so very sorry to hear all thats going on. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear friend, people come to talk to you because YOU are a good friend...Even, people of good nature has some bad times, and your friends know they can come to you. You are too, are and Earthly Angel to many.
Liz, I am So Proud and Happy for you and Ashley! Wonderful that things are working out for the very best.

Carol so nice to get things cleanined up. Rained here for days. So in between I am getting out side. It's so awsom to smell soil after a good rain!
Shar wonderful to see Ethan on his John Deer tractor! So glad you got a good visit in. And the flowers are growing beautifully.
See the Roses reminds me of your story, and I am still smiling at at how you got your first speeding ticket! hehehe, Ahh, Yes The House Where the Flowers Grow. I believe is the Title, will have to go reread one of my favorites Stories...
Speaking of stories, Stacey!! Hello Sweetie, how are you? I see you have been doing some writing, How wonderful! Sounds like a good way to make some extra cash....
Wonderfhug, Waving across the waters here. ..I hope you are doing well, sounded from posts past, that you have quite the household going. LOL, never a dull moment huh...
You asked about a magical moment. My Steve is so very busy, even when he is home. The man is a workacholic. We talk, always making plans of what we would like to do and actually complete together...Remember when we, Betty, Liz and I made the living Bird Feeders...Well mine sat in the yard for weeks, Steve and I went looking for the pole and the brases that would hold it We walked around and decided where it would stand. I kept asking him to help me set it up, and it kept getting pushed back, so I stopped asking. One day i was having a really bad day at work, didn't want to be there and I called Steve asked him what he was up to for the day...He said ah just cleaning out the shed, getting the hoses ready for a big job...I was excited that he was cleaning the shed, lol...it was and always is a great organized mess.
Later that day I came home and he was still at the job at hand. I went to say hello, when he saw me, he stood grinning ear to ear. Wanted to know what I thought. I smiled back and said looking good, thought he was talking about the shed. He said no...Babe look in the yard. And there it was beautiful and un-planted, filled with seed! When Steve does things like that just shows me how much he loves me. Not to mention he has the best smile when he is happy with the outcome...LOL, and it still un-living...(my turn)
I have been waiting for about three years for screen doors to be placed or the side entrance. The other day, we talked about it and because...He is actually insaneley busy right now, He gave me the go ahead to have them installed ( they have to be customized) and he will write a check!! Woohooo,Now thats pure magic!
Was good to see you too Bev! How's your gardens growing?
Waving hello to Mary and Debbie, been enjoying reading the night shift...
I'll tell you I have been trying to keep up again. My computer is taking on some serious homework these days.
Julia's, Has to do a presentation with four other people, so she had been doing lots of research and writing...
Breenie and Jacob have been jumping in in between and I have been working...Created a new business card for Steve, as well as some
other proposals and invoices...
Sorry this is so long, lol can you tell I haven't been around? LOL Hey miss blabbermouth is back...I have missed you!
Time for some pictures to show ya what I have been up to in between the rains, lol besides household stuff.
One of which was the re-arranging of the Shrine...This started all, because I wanted to wash the screens. But look the Eagle Heads found a better place to reside!
OH, Crissy, Always good to have an emergency plan...You keeping a storm shelter and using it, Don't you keep ity equipped with saftey items? just in case...
Then, We had family, night in which...
Cards were played, drawing took place and of course music and danced into the night...
What a fun night, been a very long time for us all to be home.
Then yesterday tended to my trees out front! Poor gentle Giants were suffocating.
Got some ideas this morning to place some plantings around them...
So I gave it soil a cleansing, thus sifting it clean and replacing, lol thats what I call weeding.
OMG Judy you have been busy..funny looking at that beautiful armchair and wallhanging of Blueboy and drats forgot her name..lol..and don't remember where they were in the living room..nice to change everything around isn't it..
I was thinking of getting Michelle who is a 'stager' come over..do something for me..
Is Mr. Busybody coming over to see what work you are doing? I've never had luck with planting under trees...what sorts of plants will you plant?
Fill out those passports Judy, you just have to make the trip this summer, early fall...need my Judy fix..
Won't be long the children will be out of school for another year..Kyle goes to Ottawa in a few weeks, exams will shortly start..is Jacob interested in finding a part time job..know he's young, but that's when you start them...maybe he can work with Steve, learn the trade..
Blanket is awesome..mega work...know we joke around about time frame but when will they visit that you'll have to have it finished for..
Made an error in a booking, clients coming in at 1:30 sooo means a late lunch for Suzanne and I..
Judy, hands on hip...blabbermouth be d..n....I love listening to your comings and goings..missed you..
It's Pinkie with Blueboy, Betty.
Sorry that so many sad events are taking place in your friends' world Betty. Seems as if it happens like that, and with no warning.
Judy, you are really having a good time being involved in family/home things and away from the workforce. I think you have adjusted well.
You all have a good day....
Betty-I don't have a machine and I have really been enjoying the writing-it has been my lifelong dream to be a writer.....and it is helping to get me outta my funk...
Mind not working as it should Shar...it's lunch time in your neck of the woods...is it raining and indoor projects you must do or are you in just for lunch..I mentioned yesterday that the quilting frame "Little Gracie" I was looking at was displayed at the Paducah Quilt Show..did you happen to notice any of them?
Pinkie, should have known that as she's dressed in pink and I've done her in needlepoint, just goes to show you where my mind is...
Keeping busy here...
Marion, don't you have a stream or pond in front of your place, can you submerge a pump that would allow you to water or is the house just too far...only thing with high temps..any word yet on mom???
Carol you must have been frantic knowing they were in Mexico and hearing about the health issues...will they have to be monitored?
How much of the ground work do you think you've left to do..has it been overwhelming or do you just take it in stride...can't believe I've not had to worry about any of mine..Cathy has so kindly done about 90% of it..what remains that I cannot do outside will be done on Mothers Day weekend by the boys..bet they'd rather buy me a gift but no, mom wants 'time and their energy' more than a gift...
Coming close, what are you all planning for Mother's Day..is it a big thing at your home?
I'm glad you found that avenue Stacey..Shar loves her writting as well..
Look forward to reading about that hunk..lol..if I can't have one I'd like to read about one..
Thinking about AnnMarie today..she must be in need of prayers...
Hello everyone.
Betty so to hear there is so much going on in your life right now.
Sending you big (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))).
It is raining here today, just a nice light drizzle rain, but the grass, and flowers love it, so I can't complain too bad!
LK
Not a lot you can do with nursing that injury LindaKay..what are you filling your day with?
Rain, yes, looking out my front window you can see everything turning green and growing so very quickly...I keep thinking about all the flowers soon to bloom..Helen had wanted me to go dig up a Rose of Sharon that was taking over the front of her garden, of course I put it off..shouldn't have..Thursday Suzanne is in Toronto i believe for appts. just might go to the garden gallery and purchase one and plant it in her memory..
I did see your machine at the quilt show, Betty. I saw so many. But I need to rid myself of about 3 or 4 of my own before I start thinking about a new one. I spent a lot of time looking at the long arms, but I know at this point in my life I would not be doing anymore major quilting, so I could not justify such a purchase. Plus I am from the old traditional school, where quilts were hand pieced and hand quilted, the way they were done when they were necessities instead of art forms. But I love the look of the new artistic ones, and have made a few by machine. My treasures, though, are the hand made ones of my ancestors.
It is a little cloudy here, but we need the rain. I got all my grass cut again yesterday, so it is a good time for the rain to come. I am working on a painting of a calla lily. It is my neighbor's birthday and she likes to get pieces of my work. I keep making changes, though, so it might be midnight before I ever call it done. I got a late start on it because I did so many other things last week, and though I knew for a year when her birthday was, I kept changing my mind what to paint. She will like this though, because it is in her colors. Like you say, writing and painting are my therapies.
Takes the worries away when there isn't a thing I can do about them anyway.
A Rose of Sharon is a good memory garden plant. I have three. One from each of my grandmothers, and one in memory of a friend of long ago.
It is raining here, so I am going to get some sewing done. I need to make an apron, and a baby quilt!
LK
((((((Hugs)))))) Betty....sorry so much is going on at once...seems like it always works that way......seems to always come in threes.....
Raining hard most of the night.....has let up considerably, but still getting showers here and there.
Hard to believe my little boy is 37 today.....dinner tonight...then have to take them to the airport first thing in the morning for their trip to Chicago. Not sure I am happy with them traveling right now with all the flu issues going around...
My goodness Judy! You have been busy! In my storm shelter I had a pillow, a sleeping bag, a light blanket, a light, a radio, and a fan. All of the blankets and pillow has came out since I found it full of red wasps. I put screens around the inside of the vents but they're still getting in, not in the numbers they were, but yikes! I don't want them building a nest in the material.
Betty I give you another big hug too. Wish I were closer to give you a hug in person.
Hello All;
Betty - I am so sad to see all that you are going through right now. Someone said it seems to all hit at once, and that seems to be so true.
Like Sharran said - just keep those hands busy....you can't control the outcome...and you know worrying and stressing is bad for Betty's health....that doesn't help anyone...
You are always there for people....I know they reach out for you in need....but please take care of Betty first and do whatever you need to do to keep the stress level down, even if it means you may need to pass up on some communication...
Hugs
Mary
Blssing on you Betty and for all your der friends. too. Just remember He doesn't give you more than you can handle. Prayers for all. Barb
When it rains, it pours, that's for sure.
Thank you all for your concern..just got back from lunch..sneezing away, have micro furnace on, whenever I get stressed I get a cold..goes hand in hand it seems.
Shar, the quilting frame "Little Gracie" allows you to put your sewing machine on a support system that allows it to quilt, a metal arm goes through grid line to create the pattern..very interesting..but you are right Shar, nothing like a homemade quilt..might be easier to have an old fashioned 'quilting bee'..I also looked at all the new machines, for the amount I'd use the extra's that mine does not have it's just not practical..
I'd love to see the Calla Lily painting Shar...what medium are you painting with..isn't that the truth we all know specific celebrations are coming and yet we wait for the last minute to prepare for it..
What caught you unaware with regards to Ethan's visit..bet he had all kinds of things to share..
Linda Kay, apron and baby quilt..you'd need more than today's rain day to complete those projects I'm sure..when you can, could you please take photo of the mud flaps for me... been listening a lot to about the swine flu (?) some precautions also being made by our government..they weren't going ahead with warning because they knew just how much the impact was when SARS was in Toronto so waited until further data became available...your son is just a few years yonger than my boys...tell him Happy birthday for me...I'd be worrying about the flying as well, very easy to contract bugs via poor air circulation
Thanks Mary, your wisdom is not wasted on me...I'll keep your suggestion in mind...

hehehe, my turn, Betty,
it's Linda kay doing the Baby blanket and apron.
wink and a cheesey smile here.
brb!
I love it Shar, you know me and painting, yes it did bring a smile..thanks for posting it..especially like the background color..she'll be thrilled..when are you taking it over to her?
Ann was up a week Saturday past, she was doing a big canvas of poppies for her neighbor...she was fretting over it..I'm sure her neighbor was thrilled to get it for her bedroom..
Nothing like getting lost in a painting when you are feeling blue is it..
I've painting here and thought I'd work on it these past few days but not interested in doing so..
I go to portrait class on Thursday night, that ought to get me into the mood..want to do Braedon and complete Caleb's portrait..maybe they can give them to their mom's for Mothers' Day..
Ooops, it's ok to catch me Judy, I'm not in my right mind today, I know, some would say I rarely am..lol...but, I went back and edited, now when some person reads they'll say now where did that Judy get the notion Betty responded incorrectly....
got ya...
Have to thank you all for keeping me busy today, myturn to be in a funk..
This is a link to our Bicycle site.....shows some of the mud flaps we have made...

MARY-I NEED YOUR HELP!!!
I need an old phone book so I can look at common first and last names for southern Louisiana-do you have one??
They are beautiful Trisha, wish my hair was longer so I could use the barrett...you must be extremely busy making them, time consuming..is this part of the business you are doing with Laura....speaking of Laura, how is she doing, get to see the Dr. yet..poor girl she certainly has had her her fill with problems lately as well..with the move and now not feeling up to par....
Now Stacey as for your article that you did for the gentleman..did he give you all the storyline and you created the story or did he give you the entire story and you wrote it up? very interesting to say the least...
Fairy, I have just what you need.
Pull up this site....put in a year range, and pick Lousiana.....it gives you the top 100 names of the year you select. I think it starts at 1960 to 2007.
http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/namesbystate.html
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wonderful info Debbie, now how did you come across such a tidbit of information like this??? The amount of knowledge that is found on these threads...simply ask and someone will have it...
Betty, we all have those kind of times. Glad to sit and chat.
Your memorial Rose of Sharon would be lovely. Maybe you and the painting friends can create one in the craft room. Although I am sure you all will share beautiful fun times with Helen or I mean Mona.
Oh Sharon, What a beauty. I love how capture the light on it. Your neighbor will just love it.
...Julia drew a Calla Lily from a memory, For her it's the same with her music, can play by ear..Was trying to find it but she put it away.
If you are interested in seeing it I will ask her for it.
Sharon and Betty, Thank you for the names of the portraits! LOL, I actually never knew...Steve rescued them from fatel purging from an attick job he did. The people were throwing them away and he decided he really likes them...I do too. They, Betty, have always been on that wall...ROFLOL, you probably didn't niotice as the Shrine also doubles as his office, and it was in terrible disarray, now, see it's organized disarray!
Shar, Thank you, yes I am thouroughly enjoy being at home, Transition was a bit rough in the beginning but yay, my being out of doors has really helped tremendously.
Happy Birthday to your son Trisha!
Crissy, Yikes...quite the surprise I am sure. Not fun, You'll have to watch and see where they are getting in...Then poke some steel wool in and around the crevisies....grrr./ But sounds like you got the safety equip together, don't forget water and a jar of penut butter!
Once, we were having an electrical storm/tornado warnings...I thought I better get a saftey box going just in case, well...Julia was a baby so had to have all her stuff, water, food, diapers, make a long story short, ROFLOL, by the time I gathered all the "saftey" items to take down stairs, the storm was over and baby slept through it all!!
Stacey, You know, writing, I think is the greatest escape. I love to write as well. My writing are more of memories though or things I think of at the time...LOL I got to be so inspired to write down what I think, but it sure is fun when I do. But like you all like to write, I enjoy reading and embroidery...Since you like to write I am glad you have found something to put your immagination to work. (lol, though writing requires proper spelling/me not you.)
Linda Kay, Oh gosh, been meaning to say how exciting it is that you are making the baby blanket! Saw that in the forum. Can't wait to see your work of art. There are so many beautiful quilts being made. i am having fun lurking over there. I am thinking when i get done with the ones I am currently working on I will add another...Would love to join in it's a real neat thread.
OK...Sun is shining so I got to go pull some weeds! See you later.
OH Betty, LOL...Mr. Busybody is always seeing what I am doing...hands on the hips, was his wifes turn.It took her forever to park her car because she kepts trying to see all i was doing...haha, you know me, put on a real good show too! Pretended to be struggling just hard at yanking up the spade overely loaded (lol that was for her benefit.) of weeded soil...Heheh, such a brat. Wondering how long it will be before they got some landscape company to come do the similar to their trees...crackin myself up again...better get to work.
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/981055/
There is a fat quarter swap coming up, if anyone is interested?
LK
I am tired!! Spent most of the day working outside, I worked on my planters while the guys did the cleaning (a major job at that) of the back of the yard running down to the lake. I can't believe how much debris was down but not anymore--can yu say gone!!! Yes, Betty, I live on a lake but the Homeowners would not take kindly if I used the water for my plant purposes. Rather small wouldn't you say? LOL
Love the using of the Rose of Sharon for a memory garden. I have several of them but unfortunately they are not getting enough sun to bloom. Won't even discuss what the crepe myrtles are doing---not!!
I do agree with all, staying busy the best one can when stressed is by far better than anything I can think of! Hard to do sometimes but it does work.
Well, need to think about dinner--Kim wants to eat early tonight.
ohhh Marion, forgot that it was a Home Owners Assc...guess you can always fill up your watering can without getting caught..lol..
Nice that you've had help getting things back to order..been a hard winter for everyone I'd say..branch debris all over...crepe myrtles, should know what they are, must go in search of a photo..
Will walk through the gardens when I get home...still trying to figure out what's weed and what's flower..
