Just popping in...trying not to stand over my pots and pans as I cook. I use to enjoy cooking...now this gardening thing is getting in the way....I've been skipping cooking...or rushing cooking....

So made myself cook this afternoon.....we need a family dinner....I had a ton of parsley...no use having it if I don't use it, eh?

Betty - you are totally exhausting me....I wish I had your energy.....Did I read that you are making an adirondack chair? We keep looking at those....(to buy).....I love how they look....would be great at the pool....

I have a busy day, and Betty...I did it. I went to the service by myself. My eyes still have not returned to normal...but I was glad I went.

Did you get the horrific storm last night? We lost our internet and phones until about 12:00/1:00 today. Back up and running now.

hi all, know you were worried about me. I am okay. just not at home right now and didnt have very good internet on my phone. hard to post on that thing! lol! I finally figured out how to use my cell phone as a modm for the laptop, but the service is akin to dial up! ugh! just thought I'd post nd let you all know that I am alive and somewhat wel,hopefully will be going home in a few weeks. sure missed my DG buddies! will try to catch up someday know I missed alot cause I had to jump thu 5 threads to find you all! lol!

I was up Mary at 4:45 and got quite a bit done before heading to work..did a walk through my garden, in one of them there are patches all over of what could be strong flowers but me guessing they are weeds..will take photo tonight so you can all direct me as to leaving or pulling..

AnnMarie, I'm so glad to see you post..have been very worried about you..just not you to go missing without a warning..sweetie, if you could, can you post Hospital Name/Address, I'd like to send you a card as most likely others would..

Betty, I was so uptight last night, didn't get to bed til 12:30, but once in, I pretty much passed out. This morning feels like "the morning after a day of hell". I hate this numbness.

Now, as for Dr. Hotness....his "assistant" Resident Romeo....keeps Shannon smiling. This Doctor looks like Dean Cain from Superman, when he has his "Clark Kent" look on. OMG! DH went to work and told one of the guys that we had found a doc for Shannons knee....and he says "Oh, Dr. M...my wife had him for two years after a car accident...now she just goes to oogle at him I swear, not a dang thing wrong with the woman!" And, his Resident, Romeo, well, Lets just say Shannon is taking a bit of extra time getting dressed....and wearing makeup...something she very rarely does for doctors. I remember during her surgery....she looks at him and says "nice scrubs"...he turned bright red! LOL

Mary, are you ready for a nap yet? Going to be a long day for you.

Sharran, what are your plans for the day? I want to go outside sooooo bad. Can you believe the "weather liars" said it is going to hit 85 to 90 here today!

Well, I have been cleaning the computer desk since I was sitting here...now I need to go change my shirt. I smell like 409! LOL At least the doc will know i am hygenic! haha

Debbie you are just too cute..we must have the same weatherman..It was gorgeous Saturday (what I could see of it from the basement) and on Sunday, the day I might have spent outside it was cold and dreary..but, work day today (or is it-I seem to be resting my weary bones) it's going to be in the 70's..sunshine galore...

So perfect infact I went and talked to Paul re shorter hours or maybe terminating...know it would have a big impact on my spending $$$ but it would give me time to persue things I want to do and enjoy..we'll see what becomes of it..

How's your gardening coming along?

Mom brought a friend with her and they mainly went to visit retirement places. On Sat though they took me out to dinner and we went to see Monsters VS. Aliens in 3D-that was fun. No sewing this weekend.

I wrote a short story for a freelance job that the man loved and wants me to do more-it was 11 pages and he paid me $40, so that was cool. And I am writing a book.....I've got about 130 pages so far.....I don't think it is for everyone, but I am enjoying myself and love the story. I had a dream that will be the end of the book pretty much, and built it from there.

This is what I wrote on another thread about it:

It is about a girl that is like 20 and she lives with her mom. They move every couple of years as her mom likes to try different cities and business adventures. They end up in the bayou running a fan boat tour business where she meets a hunk. Of course there is never ending drama and a little romance. The girl is very insecure (even though she is pretty) and continually tries to push him away but he is determined...

Oh my Betty! I hope he'll give you exactly what you want. It does seem like a waist when we sit at work piddle footing around because there's nothing to do when we can be at home getting all kinds of stuff done.

LOL Debbie! It was hot here yesterday. I was going to plant some corms but fizzled even though it was very nice. I decided since it's going to rain later today, maybe storm pretty good, that I'd wait til after the rain when the ground is soft. I didn't want to do anything yesterday, so I didn't :)

I am so tired of being cold.....

Waiting to find our when Laura's Doctors appointment is...needs to have her ankle checked out...she twisted it over a week ago and it is still giving her trouble.

Mother in law just called and wants me to go with her to the Hearing Aid place...she doesn't trust being able to figure out some of the things they are telling her and wants some one with her.

Getting the finish on a set of leather mud guards for a customer, then need to finish up helmet I.D. Plate for one of our local fire fighters. Aside from that just wishing I had some Betty Energy to get some things done around here.

Betty's energy has fizzled this morning I'll tell you..but as always my mind is working overtime and it won't be long I'll have another project ready to complete..

Stacey, do want to read your book..love to read any book that is Bayou based...and of course a 'hunk' in it..
Stacey you were about 3 weeks early, you should see the craft room now!

Trisha sorry to hear about Laura still having problems with her ankle...
Can you post a photo of the mudguards..might be something I could order for the grandchildren, either birthdays or Christmas...

they are all quite excited, I bought them passes for our theme park "Canada's Wonderland" for Christmas and the park opens up this weekend...am sure they will make a trip...

OMG went to lunch, didn't want to take my vehicle because of the ongoing construction out front, so walked in the back of the building and there is a little mall, John's sewing is in it.. dropped in again and looked at the machines..have they gotten even more sophisticated since I bought my 9000..sure wish I had 5 or 6 thousand sitting waiting to be spent .. lol..anyway, as I mentioned before they have a "Little Gracy" quilter..you use your own sewing machine..$1,295. which if it works isn't overly expensive..could do my quilts, mom's, aunt Muriel and Sharon's...but, said the system comes un-assembled..asked where I could go to see it functional, said a few ladies in the area have them BUT not sure they would be willing to show me...SOOOO why would I purchase something that I don't know will work..

Looked on-line..imagine Shar, they were displayed last week in Paducah and also a few weeks earlier in Judy's town, Chicago..missed it...

Just got terrible news..Darlene just called to tell me she was at my house, another painter friend dropped in to say the ambulance was at Helen's, a girl I've painted with for 15 years who lives maybe 6 houses up from me...a friend dropped in to check on her as she hasn't been feeling the best, called ambulance, tried to revive her but couldn't...

She was know to us as "MONA" an endearing term..each and everytime time we'd try to show her how to do something she'd say she couldn't..then we'd do it as she'd moan till we did..poor soul..

Betty, I am so very sorry to hear the loss of Mona. I remember you talking about her during the Holidays when you were doing the Santas and such. Again, very sorry for your loss.

Well Dr. Hotness was looking mighty fine...as usual. But the man dresses like a geek....all he needed was the pocket protector! I have to find a picture of him, I know there is one on-line, I have seen it.

The good news is, Shannon has been released from PT for 3 months...til he sees her again (which she smiles very big and says "oohhh we get to go back!". Depending what he desides at that time, might be another knee surgery! UGH!

Very hot here...and I am exhausted. Been driving and running since 9:30 this morning....and we just got home. We do have Prom shoes...and earrings, and a "headband" of sorts to match the jewelry.

it is not the best picture....but the man is over 6' 2 I would say....not an ounce of fat on him....shoulders to die for....we gotta work on the greased back hair though. Lordy! He used to be the sports doctor for "The Lakers". Has pictures of them all up, along with many other colleges and stars he as helped. He is seriously a very grounded guy...who looks pretty good....much better in person.

Betty so sorry to hear about Helen, I remember you talking about "Mona" (moan-a). Our condolences and prayers for her family, and ((((hugs)))) for you. It is always difficult to lose a friend.

Your Dr's sure are cuties..will have to post a photo of my Dr. well my Dr. when you can get into seeing him..not sure because he's chief of staff if the hospital has a photo listed..will check it out..maybe it's because we're getting older that the doctor's are getting better looking..

Didn't come in the back deck door so didn't see Cathy's note that she let Sailor out and that the high winds caused the big stained glass piece to break..she picked up the pieces for me..

Did my walk around the garden, metal arbor is down, broken door..oh well..things could be worse..think Mona's family would agree!
