they are all over in my garden... pretty weeds aren't they?
oh sorry didn't mean to rev you up... I grow them from seeds... I don't actually think they are weeds but a lot of people do... because they go to seed and JUMP UP everywhere
a weed is in the eye of the beholder : )
Right, they could come to my garden any time--pansies are just a larger variety of the sme genus.
so nice when a plan works out... there is a clematis I planted under the power pole supports in front of my house... I went to check if it needed a coaxing in the right direction.... and it already latched on to it

Brooke.... the pink/blue plant is pulmonaria. I don't know about the variety. It sort of reminds me or 'Ms. Moon'.
Candyce.... that last picture is soooooo precious. My gosh, she looks like me when I was here age! And playing out in the dirt too!! My hair was not as wavy. What I would've given for her waves!

some pics that I took last weekend.
So, this one comes with a story:
This is probably the first tree/shrub that I ever bought. About 9 years ago, before I started learning anything about plants, I asked a friend that owned a nursery for a recommendation for a small tree or shrub for this particular spot. She said 'oh there's the beautiful yellow magnolia, tulip flowered, that just came out a couple of years ago that would be perfect.' well, I saved my money and bought a pretty large one (for me anyhow) sine I knew it would take some time to bloom. It bloom for the first time 2 years ago... 1 bloom! Last years late snow wiped out lots of lovely buds on it. ( I think that this has happened several times) This is is the first year that mother nature has finally allowed the blooms to open. Good thing that I wasn't expecting a yellow magnolia huh?!?! lol. The funny thing is that a star magnolia is actually a much better height for that spot and I like them better anyhow! Honestly... several years ago I really suspected with fair certainty that it was a star magnolia, so it actually was not a big surprise. but still funny to think about.
