Ya know... if I thought that polymer clay would hold up outside, I would attempt making some of those... they're too cute... and would look great hanging on my fence posts... BUT... polymer clay won't keep it's colors in the sun... DARN.

Coushatta, LA

Thanks Jaye, for the talk i need that laugh.Have a great day and enjoy your day out.Tell Kel i said hi,and be careful.

Coushatta, LA

Kimmie,i will call you in a bit.I need to eat something have not ate nothing today.

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

BJ... Look for some of the airdry clay...It doesn't have to be fired like his terracotta does, and you can paint or stain it, and then shellac it with spray polymer that comes in a can...
Joann fabrics has it for sure, because that is where I found it...less than $8 for a 10 pound box...It is NOT paperclay...

www.amaco.com

It also Can be fired if you wish, but they also recommend sealing it with shellac, because it is porous unless fired...

I thought about doing the same thing with this clay just to see if my hands are going to be able to stand sculpting after a 4 year hiatus...
Gnomes, trolls, gremlins etc. are a specialty of mine... or were... LOL

BJ... I went into the hall closet, and dug out that box to get the info for you...It is only 49* here, even though the sun is shining, so I AIN"T going out to play...I drug the garage garden back out in the sunshine, and that wind was just tooo sharp for my bones...Now that box is sitting here at my feet, and my kitchen is spotless and the dishwasher is running... Hmmmmmmmm!!!

Maybe I will open the box??? Ya think??? ROFLLLLL

Raleigh, NC

thank you Synda, Jaye, BJ, Phyllis.

have been too dizzy lately to try to read, so haven't tried to get on here. but it's a birthday, and the dizzies are at bay for a moment. Randall is in his library cleaning - I've got amaryllis and irises stored in there, and he puts presents in there to hide. Ruth and he just found a Christmas present for me! a toolbox for my truck, so now it's a birthday present. already got planned what will go in the top compartments!

hope all went well with Kim's closing day and she isn't yet in the hospital from all that cleaning she'd planned.

that's enough for now. have a wonderful, blessed Easter all.

Something else for JB's that is practically free....A large jug of liquid handsoap from the $$ store...Put it in a sprayer and spray a heavy soak...Soap kills the grubs and aphids etc.. and snails and slugs...LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Won't that hurt the plants?

LK

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

Nope... soapy water is what I have used for years on Roses for Aphids..., and you are soaking ground, not plants...If you use it on Roses like I do, it needs to be done very early morning, to give them time to dry....

Did you know that good old Dial bath soap kills fleas??

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nope never heard of that one either. So the soap, even on the ground does not hurt the plants, and the soap on the soil make the aphids go away?
