Cody I love that and I have nothing in my yard put around the house I do see rose brushes but they didn't cut them done so I hope that they come back I do see some green on some but not the others.
Well so far its has been great but as I work to clean it up it is unbelievable dirty I can't belive people could let it get so bad. There was spilled milk over the chairs and cabinet never wiped and the duck vents in the house are so bad. The one in the kitchen I think that when they sweep the floor they put all the dirt in the vent.
Well It took me and my sister and her daughter 7 hours to clean the kitchen with nothing in the kitchen the grease on top of the cabinet must have been 10 years old and on top of the doors and track of the windows.
But it is done now and I did take a couple of things over Had to take 2 plants just so it looks like its me. I have some kids (OLDER) coming to help power wash and maybe start to prime the 2 bedrooms I decide I don't like the pinkish purple one do we will prime and I think that I will run to HD and check out a few thinks OK girls I am hoping all of you stay safe have very Happy birthday
Oh BJ I did go and vote for you I wish that I put mine upI have nothing Take care all will write when I can
Hugs

Dimmer, baking soda is the best cleaner in the kitchen. I buy it by the two pound box and when Walmart has it in stock, I buy what they have on the shelf. It cuts grease like you wouldn't believe.
I bought a kitchen-aid mixer at a yard sale yesterday, gggggreeeaseyyy! brought it home, got out the baking soda and it looks like new again. I already have one, but I wanted the bowl on this one. This particular bowl with the handle is 49.95 at our Target. More than I could justify paying when I already have a bowl, (it doesn't have the handle) So I bought the mixer just for the bowl. All the beaters were also with it, when I plugged it in, it worked! So I cleaned it up and my DIL will now receive it along with my original bowl, and she has wanted one so long but couldn't afford the price. So for $15.00 we are both happy campers.
Anyway, I wanted to let you know that baking soda will clean anything you have to clean. In my kitchen, I just spritzed some water on what I am going to clean, sprinkle on the soda, let it sit just a little while, and you can see the grease coming to the top. It's amazing stuff.
And easy on your hands and does not scratch any surface. It's not abrasive.
In the bathtubs it works wonders on soap scum and build up.

Morning all.

Yep, Synda... I did read what you wrote... thanks... I had to giggle too... too funny.

OH GAWD. I hope I win !!! It's looking more and more desperate each day...

Kim... I'm so glad you're getting a handle on your house... when will you actually be moving in?

Good idea about the baking soda... I remember now that my grandmother always used it for cleaning... guess I just got spoiled to all the chemical cleaners... and forgot about that. I also remember her making a paste out of baking soda and using that to treat stains on clothes... she'd just rub it in on the stain... let it sit a while, then throw the garment in the washer... I think I remember that it worked really well... been too many years, though... so, I'm just going to have to try it myself to find out.

Happy Birthday!!! Bonnie and Joyce... do something fun and decadent today...

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

OOps... forgot to say... I LOVE the story Dusty... I even love your Uncle Charlie now too... you MUST write all these stories down in a book.
I'm praying that you'll get good news from your Nam Bro in Tenn today...
Trisha... sounds like good news about your family... still keeping them in my prayers though for continued recovery.

Jaye? Where are you?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Happy Birthday Bonnie and Cookie!! May this day be a happy memorable one.. and SUNSHINE to celebrate it in!

Good morning Ladies~~~~~~~~ and Marilyn ^_^ Come on down more often, we sure need some wise advice here.

Trisha, that's certainly a welcome news on your BIL. Hope he progresses further. No more sitting in waiting room at least. Your SIL will have some privacy in a regular room.
Hope you can relax on Easter Sunday.

Dusty, thank you for sharing your wonderful memory of Uncle Charlie. Certainly because of Him, there's a hereafter.. Amen to that.. what a sacrifice!
Have you managed to get in touch with your Nam Brother?. And yes, you need to write a memoir! I will certainly buy one and of course read it.

Oh boy, your new home will certainly keep you busy, Kim. Does your family expect a grand bbq once they're through helping you? I bet, you've already treat them to something sweet.
Kim, like Trisha said, if we're living close by, we could be of help to each other. In the meantime, we can only be with you in spirit.

Synda, I have John F. Kennedy. One of the 3 roses that survive the JB. My JFK, can grow lanky and tall fast, and it looks like a climber against the fence. Will post a pic for you.

Yep Cody, OUR Rose girl. It's a wonder that Rob and Cody both have golden thumbs. So nice to see a young couple who love gardening.

Sorry I went MIA last night. When we returned, we found one of our babies was missing. Spent some time looking for her, up and down the road.. around the area.. calling her name in the woods..
when we got home, I was mentally drained...

BJ, I need some phlox, if you have that to give away!!!! Heavy unexpected downpours early this morning, thank God I changed my mind about sowing some zinnias, if not they'll be washed away.

Synda this is John F. Kennedy. It's very hardy, and with heat and humidity, produces very fragrant blooms.
I had planted roses to 'honor' my 8 siblings, 2 BF and moi.. only 3 made it. The rest fell victim to the JB :*(
Not giving up, treated the yard with Milky Spore, as advised by BJ

Jaye.. I do have some pink phlox... I planted 4 phlox last year in different beds... only one of them survived, and has spread to about large mass, and is now in bloom. I'll go get some of that for you... but you have to take some African Daisy too... it's taken over.

Trisha... sending you some African Daisy too, sistah.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh well.. I got plenty of empty spots... okay send some over, but ONLY if you let me pay the shipping!!!!

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL... good for you, Jaye... I spread some more Milky Spores this year too... 'specially around my compost bin... when I sifted through that this year, it was sooooo full of grubs, almost made me sick. Haven't seen a gofer trail since I spread it last year... so, I know it's working where I put it out then.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

This is Billie that went MIA on us. It's been 2 days now, hope she's okay.

Thumbnail by heavenscape
Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

No thanks... I should be boycotting the post office too, like I am the tobacco industry... but I'll send some to my sistahs anyway...

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Awww... Billie... come home, COME HOME !!!

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

What is Milky Spores and what is it used for????

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning Cindy!! No Curves today??

Okay Sistah... your weed our treasure!! LOL!!

Pic of Scrunchy was taken this morning.. then here comes RIMAU (my oldest cat from Louisiana) showing who's the boss.

Thanks be to Creator...They are all fine and no damage to any of the family...Brother Mike was at work, and they have a 2 story deep basement, so he was safe, but his truck got hit with some debris on the drivers side of the bed...He said nothing a body shop can't fix...

Paulie was at the VA Hospital in Nashville when it hit, and the Shuttle would not bring him back home afterwards...One of the nurses lives in Murfreesboro and offered to bring him back home when she got off duty...Cell phones do not work in most VA's in certain areas, because they have steel reinforced walls, and he forgot to check his voicemail...
He said the devastation they came through on his way home was unreal...He took Dads paper up to him about 15 minutes ago and Carrie had biscuits & gravy on the table for him, so he will call me back in about an hour...

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Amen Dusty!!!
Experts just predicted 2009 will have a 'normal' hurricane season... sheesh.. we have enough right now with all the thunderstorms, tornadoes, blizzards...

Cindy, Milky Spores is used to control JB grubs.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

It's so lonely being the victor!! Rimau is 10 years old.

Thumbnail by heavenscape
Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Whew... thanks for the update Dusty... glad they're ok...

Cindy... google Milky Spores... it's a powder like substance that activates these little live organisms when you water it in to your yard... these organisms burrow down and find grub worms and eat them... then they multiply and go off searching for more grubs.
I had a problem with gophers here when we first moved in, then I learned that gophers burrow underground looking for food, and they eat grub worms... grub worms also are the larvae stage of Japanese beetles (June Bugs)... so, I needed to rid my yard of grub worms to get rid of the gophers and June Bugs... and to keep the grubs from feeding on my grass and plant roots... Milky Spores has made a huge difference here.

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Happy birthday to you ♫♫♫Happy Birthday to you♪♪Happy Birthday dear Bonnie♫♫Happy Birthday to youuuuuuuuu♫♫♪♪♫♫

Thanks for the happies for me too, Sistahs! It snowed the day I was born. Glad it's not going to do that today!

BJ, I'd love some of that, but I'll bring it back with me in May. I don't want you to have to mail it. Deal?

Cookout (barbeque chicken) with M&D and the kids today. :O) Glad the sun is shining.

Love you♥♥♥

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Nope, Cindy... the only place I could find it was online... never have found it locally...
It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny... it keeps on working and those little organisms keep multiplying for up to 12 years... so, depending on the size of your yard, one bag of it might be enough.

I bought one bag last year, and didn't have enough to cover it all... so this year (after finding my compost full of grubs), I bought another bag, and will probably not need any more for many years to come.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Deal, Joyce... you can take back all you want.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Happy Camper! ^_^

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Oh, I'm so happy that you're happy, Joyce. Happy B'day sistah... enjoy your bbq with the family.

Well, Mike's up... Don's on his way home (probably just about crossing the state line about now), and I am still in my pjs... better get dressed and make it look like I did something around here.

Will check in later...

Everyone... HAVE A GREAT DAY !!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Have a good time Cookie!! Enjoy this birthday as though you're turning 21!!!!

There are men whose heads will turn at a pretty skirt, but Kel's head turns at a baby or a furry creature.

Cindy I got mine from Lowe's at the beach. Check with your local Lowe's.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hope this works... adding to BJ's shout..
Come Home Stacey!

Okay.. Marion.. Sis Kathy... Deborah...Susan... Lisa1...Lisa2 ...Tina...Laura.. Tina-Tia... where are you??
