See, darn forgot to let you all know about my experience with my dinner.. was worrying about the OK fires.
Had baked shad for the first time in my life. I heard that shad has lots of bone... familiar with shad roe.. love shad roe even though I had only the canned ones.
For the first time, at the local fish market, there were fresh shad. Had it scaled but I gutted it myself. Left the roe intact.
Seasoned and 'dry' baked it.
But it wasn't an enjoyable meal, for every pinch of flesh, I had to battle bones!!!
So you can say sistahs.. if I want Shad roe.. back to the cans again!
