ZUZU that is absolutely georgeous. Wish i could smell it.
It's April - what's springing up for you?
I forgot what these flowers are but they are blooming very nicely this spring. I am SOOOOOO HAPPY to see the sun shine and to see my yard becoming green. Winter was rough here in Michigan and spring has taken it;s time to arrive, but it's FINALLY HERE!!!!!!! I have other stuff blooming too, but these were the first to pop up. I have some blue spruce coming, and some fruit trees should be arriving any day. I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!!!!
Those Lilacs are absoulutely gorgeous!!! I love those and lily of the valley best in spring. Can't wait till mine bloom. They haven't even started leaf buds yet!! I'm JEALOUS!!
Great!
We're due for rain so I wish better weather for you.
I think my babies are going to be very happy at your house, Jo Ann!
I just left a + rateing for Siberian Iris Gardens.
I'm going to take pics of where they are so I dont forget.
ge: I think you've taken color pairing to a whole new level. Your selections are really nice. Can't wait to see and follow the progress.
You and me too.
There is a wide gap between the plan and the real thing.
I have been planting the Iris in the new lazagna garden this morning.
I realize the garden should have been started last fall. Its too new, newspapers still stiff and sod still green.
It's also on a bit of an incline and when I thrust the spade into the clay and sod. I lost my balance and fell backward pounding in a stake just a little bit more.
I have never fallen and as an old geezer I have been scared of it.
I lay there taking inventory to see if anything was broken ( like my two new replaced hips) and satisfied, I rolled over and got to my knees.
I crawled to my hand truck and hoisted myself up. The good thing about the experience is I realize with my 16 pounds lost and more flexability, I might try to get into the jacousi tub in my bath I've never used.
8 plants in the "hard dig" garden and about 40 more to go.
I am not looking forward to it and pray nothing comes until the end of the month.

oh goodness. Be careful. 40 more to go is a lot...
Zuzu wow you dont like the smell of lilacs. In new mexico, when we lived there, we had a whole fence of lilacs. They were gigantic, and I looked forward to it every spring. At least the blooms are short lived.
Jo Ann, be careful! I'm so glad you didn't get badly hurt.
If you don't feel up to planting those JIs I sent out today can sit in water for a few days. Take it easy.
Thanks I think I'll take you up on that idea.
The only thing that will need to be planted is one bare root hellebore. Everything else but the irses are in posts, just keep them watered. Set the iris in water up to the top of the rhizome. Change the water every few days or it will get stinky.
Hellebores go in an easy dig area. theyre no problem.
All i need is a couple of days to get the sore muscles going again.
I'm not into my gardening muscles yet.
Your UPS Tracking info came.Thanks
Thanks Sharran.I'm stiff today and its Eastersunday besides, family coming, wont have to garden much today.
Thanks, Sharon. I still have to cut mine back. It's one of those items that slipped from my mind (along with many others, I'm sure).
ge - hope you're feeling better. Maybe it's a good reason to rest today.
32* and windy. My hands are freezing.
I must be some kind of masokist for trying to move hostas.
I am done.( for now)
I think you're more determined than masochistic. It's only 40 here or I'd be out planting.
Tomorrow should be better weather for moving hostas and I hope you'll feel good enough to get the job done.
I was a bit stiff this AM but moved around and dont mind it so much.
Your right about tomorrow.
and all next week warms in the 50"s cant wait.
There are 2 gold hostas in pictures taken in Sept. I cant find the markers or the plants, just have to wait until they peek up in a few weeks.
Many of the plants dug yesterday had little white teeth but no shoots yet.Planted with a liberal amt of manure and water.
They'll love the good treatment. Use some Sluggo!
Some hostas linger longer than others. Sagae will be a few inches tall this week and others are still not showing anything.
Yep Blue cadets were a huge clump and Big Daddy has a smaller clump for such a bg plant.
August moon was even bigger than Big Daddy. All are definatly dorment.
By the end of the month the dormancy will end and you'll see growth daily. We're still waiting for the first asparagus of the season...impatiently.
I'm impatient about all aspects of gardening.
I think I have a ForestFarm order coming this week.
Not too many plants thanks-to-gawd.
Thighs are still pretty sore from the fall.
Go slowly. We're due for some rain and it's another windy day for us today so I hope you have better weather.
Sunny day here.
