Had some rough family 'drama' which was unnecessary.. but you all ladies, I'm sure got one in the family that don't like to see anyone happy... Writing this openly... I leave her to the Lord.
Hi Audrey! How are you? And how's Lisa?
Lyrica is for diabetic neuropathic pain and also fibromyalgia. Kel is on metformin for about 5 years now, and he's not losing weight, unless on a diet! I used to take that before my heart surgery. Now I'm on insulin.
Thank you Trisha and Judy. I am trying to take better care of myself.. when someone sneezes, I duck for cover!!
Well Judy, the rains have caused more ant mounds here and the realization that I need to haul more dirt on some areas of the property!!
Will check on the link sistah!
Mocha is too cute!! Pretty sure Rob is spoiling her too, huh? Met a Chi breeder this afternoon and he made us laugh over his Chis personalities!! He has 6 in the house and has one that's 15 pounds!!
Bonnie, I need to get my hair cropped too and a visit to Auntie Clairol, again. Lately my grays have declared their stubborn streaks!! Lol!!
Judy!!! Lolol.. I bet you were laughing too saying goodbye to the debris!!
I remember you telling me that Steve ate the ONLY pepper from that one pepper plant!!!
Like the fact that you name your areas anb yes, we all need a little area in our garden just for ourselves.
Well sis..you certainly don't need any minerals with the work you've been doing. Good job!! And I'm sure you weren't out of breath neither, since you quit smoking!!
Time for me to say goodnight!
CODY------------- GO STRAIGHT TO BED :D
I have seen a blue Chi that's around 14 pounds. He's so cute too, but the owners don't want to breed him.
And Cody.. say goodnight!!
Yes Mama Jaye,i'm getting tired anyway.
Good night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!☺
Cody, I expanded Mocha's pic as asked by Kel.. you should hear Lola! She was jealous!! She kept on barking till it's gone!!!
Yep, there are regular Chihuahuas that are more than 10 pounds!!
Good night again, sweetie!
ahhhh, well, except for a major decision to make on the pool, it wasn't a bad day. gorgeous. dizzies came back last night. was walking to my chair with a plate of spaghetti and glass of milk when the floor tipped. you'll would have laughed yourselves silly watching me when the floor tipped and me trying to sit down with a plate of spaghetti and a glass of milk. the plate went on one table, the glass of milk on another, without spilling a drop, and I tumbled across my chair just as the world tipped the other direction. such a totally weird feeling.
dizzies stayed all day. made breakfast, then the guys came, but I couldn't go down the slope with them. went to go outside to garden and the concrete driveway started tipping, so I came back in. Going to call my doc one more time and complain.
Randall drove me to the cheapo haircut place so I wouldn't have to drive. the lady I don't like wasn't there and the young gal did a great job. Randall says the grey/white showing through is just enough to make me look "distinguished." oh yeah, right...can hear bj laughing! she told me they only charge $10 for waxing, and I said, what the heck. so now I'm all pretty.....and Randall says to me, now all you have to do is shave your legs. oh, I can see this now with the dizzies, gonna be some weird looking legs coming up!
I need a strong drink. who's got the Baileys? my truck is turning yellow with pine pollen. it's either Baileys or, nope, I already took the allegra. I wish they made banana pudding flavored Baileys. need some banana pudding, that's the ticket.
up late because UNC-Chapel Hill Tarheels just won semi-finals and is going to the big dance ! weee!! those minerals are working! I"m going to bed. give someone else the Baileys.
Morning Sistahs.
Well, yesterday was exhausting at the flea market. Mike was awestruck at the size of that place... and we walked the whole place. It was a beautiful day, cool breeze, so there was a big crowd...
I didn't find a table that I liked, nor did I find a strawberry pot. But, I did get 2 Orient Pear trees, and a Fig tree. Also got some dip mixes that I've tried before that are too delicious to believe. Mike got 2 marshmallow shooters for his little brother... that's the only thing Thomas wanted from America... go figure. We also determined yesterday that his mom might like a wind chime... they don't have one, and Mike loves the sounds mine make in the breeze. We looked for some, but didn't see any this time... I know I've seen them there before, but just didn't see any.
Kristi works at one of the food vendors there... so we got her to work on time around 10am... then we started walking. Had lunch at Kristi's work, then started walking again. Around 3pm, I'd had enough. So, we went back to Kristi's work and sat down with a cold drink... She got off at 5pm. When we got home, my feet hurt, and I was exhausted... was in bed by 8pm, and up at 9 to take an Advil for my achy feet. Then I slept hard. Feel great this morning.
I have to take her back to work this morning, but I'm not staying. Her dad will pick her up this evening.
Cody... Mike took a picture yesterday of a Chi that a lady had in her booth... it's too cute... I'll get that pic from him later today and post it for you... I thought of you and Mocha when I saw it.
Bonnie... those gray hairs are a sign of wisdom, sistah... you've earned them... I've earned mine too, so I'm not about to color them with anything. Every time I get a hair cut, more gray shows.
I'm so sorry about your swimming pool... I know how much you enjoy it.
Jaye... I did get your dmail... good news indeed. Although, the plans are set in stone now... and it's still good news.

Good Morning Sistahs!!! Did you miss me?
I had Kavin all last week and part of the week before and OMG! what a little whirlwind he is! I can't believe that he won't be two until later this month and he is already 36 inches tall and weighs 42 pounds. He helped with the pond.... ;o)
I guess I need to go back and read. I don't know what's going on with my Sissy and the hurricane.
I have missed you all so much!
I hope everyone is feeling well. See you all later!
Morning All,
All of you are busy as ever I see... Well yesterday was 70 here so we did out side work in the yard... I looks nice now.. I hate when my yard is a mess... I will have to work on the flower beds soon... I mowed the little dog lot yesterday and the grass was taller then the little dogs...LOL
I am going to try to get in a little house work today after I water my plants... That takes awhile to do as there are so many... I love this time of year when we have it... It is warm but still nice pretty soon we will get so hot and humid I hate it...LOL
Well I hope you all have a great day and I am going to find me something to eat... Kim, deep breaths...
Love,
TurtleChi Ninja
Well went outside very cold and I am hoping that I dug up all the bulbs that I had planted I got quite a few I am hopping that I got all my day lily's now I am going to take a nap I am tired
I wanted to get them dug up before we get hit with a strom
Where is everyone?????? Yoooo Hoooo, anyone home???
Anyone heard from Stacey????
LK, is in Tuson Az, Marion is at her mothers, BJ is ????, Jaye is ???... YEppers very quite here this weekend. I've been outside plating, planting.
As for Stacey, not a clue.
Well, got the pear trees planted... and the fig...
Then Don calls and asked if I had seen the weather report...
YIKES... it's gonna freeze tomorrow night... a big SHEESH...
Guess I'll spend all day tomorrow covering everything up again.
Here ya go Cody... The Plant Lady at the flea market uses these two to draw in the customers, I guess... They sure were getting a lot of attention.
I don't have a clue either... but I'm present and accounted for..
Now, I'm off to Walmart... out of dish soap, laundry soap, and garbage bags... you know... those things that make the world turn...
BBL
Been out for a bike ride...Beautiful day so of course I forgot my camera.....tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer....
Trying to get Bill to go out to the hospital and visit his BIL without much success.....he has this aversion to hospitals....and to talking to his sister on the phone....or otherwise for that matter...I would like to wring his neck at times!!! I can go without him, but I think his sister would be more interested in seeing or talking to him than to me...
Getting ready to start a Fairie Dish Garden.....Laura and I were looking around at the local lumber yard on Friday. We found these big, 24" or maybe more, round heavy plastic pans...they are like plant saucers except huge and bout 4-5 inches deep......they couldn't find the price on the computer so they gave them to us for 99 cents!!!!! I couldn't believe it !!! So we are going to turn them into Fairie Gardens.....now I get to spend time deciding what to plant, what to make, and where am I going to put it when it is done??? Guess I will worry about that when it is done.
I want to get an old stump from a broken off tree with the nice jagged top and a good spot on it for a Fairie Door......we have a cycling buddy who is a logger...... I think I am going to take some pictures of the type of thing I am looking for and tell Clyde when he finds some things like these that if he will cut them and haul them down I will gladly pay him or trade bike parts for them.....I don't have any place to cut such things and if I did the only Chainsaw any of the relatives has is an electric......of all the stupid things...where out in the forest are you going to plug in an electric saw???
Yep upper sixties today and in the seventies tomorrow....have Spring Fever really bad!!!
Those two are priceless!!!!! We didn't see anyone on the bike path today with kids in trailers...but three riders did have their dogs in trailers.......one little terrier would run for about half a mile, then he would jump in the trailer and rest awhile, then out and run some more....so cute!!!! and of course I didn't have the camera with me:(
Hope you all have a Happy Palm Sunday!
We went to another church, very country folks, but the LOVE is there!! And the preaching cut into my guts!! Left me emotionally drained and slept all afternoon.....
Of course you're missed Cookie! Kavan is so cute, and all he needs now is a back hoe, and he'll be in business!!!!
BJ, yep, you'll be covering your 'fragiles' up again! I love to have more than one fig tree here, but the ones I want are so hard to find. Hint, hint, Cody ;)
Oooh thank you for the pics of the Chis. They are just the right magnet to draw ladies to her stall!! Can't do that with Lola. She'll chase customers away, cause she's too protective of us!
BJ, Kel wish we could sneak in Lola on the plane!! Those two are inseparable!
Hi Cindy, tell me your brugs are starting to bud too. So what did you plant? How's your mum?
I got so much to clear and move the tropicals out of the nursery, but have to wait till after Wednesday. Predicting a freeze here too.
Trisha, I still don't know how to ride a bike, unless it's stationary!! Nope, hadn't seen Stacey posting anywhere.. truly hope she hasn't turned into a sewing zombie.
Keep us posted as to yours and Laura's faery garden project.. very interesting indeed.
We started last spring, had some logs cut up, collected a few faery/gnome essentials, like the door.. and a unicorn...,but don't have any creative sparks to cause some faery magic.. :*( Maybe this spring.
Hiya Kim.. heed Susan's advice.. take a deep breath. We can feel your excitement, and to have a permanent address.. all yours!!
Again, let us know what you need in your new garden. Certainly want you to plant pieces of us.. right, sistahs?
Time for me to take care of the plants in the gh... you all have a great evening!
OMG!! Guess who have the same birthday??
Bonnie and Cookie!!!
Both on the 11th!
Hi from the southern part of the state. Heading home tomorrow--geez not looking forward to the drive but as I don't have a plane and wouldn't know what to do with it if I did, guess I will just drive. Really hate to leave as Mom has really slowed up since the fall last summer (being 90 might have something to do also). Did get off to a great start this morning. Last night a stray cat wandered into my sister's yard--this morning we had a momma cat and 5 little babies!! Sending one the the first 5 names above. LOL
Chat with everyone when I get back to the lake.
As much as the cat and I would love it.....I don't think exposing a baby kitten to my dog would be the wisest thing to do.....come to think of it, I am not sure how the cat would take to it having been an only at for ten years.......
Those are cute BJ thanks. Are they spoiled or what!!!
Jaye,i know,i know.
I will say it...Go to bed Cody!!
Have a good night sweetie!
OK Mama Trisha,good night.
Morning,
Jaye, the Brugs aren't doing much of anything. A couple of months ago they were covered with aphids. I have been planting my Passion Flowers that I recevied in a co-op. Plus trying to decided on what to do with the side yard that Rick dug up. Part of it is full sun, and then the rest of it is full shade. And I don't have anything for full shade. All of my plants and seeds are for sun :{ I need lots of hostas and maybe some coleus (sp). I have 2 hostas. Suppose to be 82 today then tomarrow down to the 50's and rain. Crazy, Crazy, weather. Mother Nature's hormones are sure mixed up, LOL>
good Morning Glory! how are all my sistahs?
gotta go to class in a minute. will read later. it's been pouring rain this morning.
I took the minerals for two days, and on both days, caffeine or no, got decent sleep. over the weekend, forgot them - no good sleep. so now I'm hooked.
the Southern Ideal Home and Garden show went well. got the names of two companies that willing to do small roof repairs, and a card from a company that rents little stand behind Bobcats. that might just be the ticket to do a LOT of stuff around here in a weekend at a price I can handle. discovered a great little nursery down in Benson, and a fella over Chapel Hill way that will bring you a beehive for your garden!
Have a neon golden yellow little iris blooming down in the rebloomers bed!
Hello!! Went MIA again, had a great weekend, dug weeds, dug some holes, took some pics I'm going to share with you this evening
Hope everyone is doing good, I don't have time to read everything cause I'm at work and all, ya'll know how it is...
Morning Cindy, Bonnie and Crissy,
This is scary, where is everyone.....when you look at the list at the beginning and it takes me about two minutes to catch up on this thread........
Today is supposed to be up in the seventies!!!! Laura and I are going to try to get a few things done here......go for walk in the woods with Sean and Sage to collect some stuff to set up our fairy scene.....then we have to stop by the hospital and then grocery shopping.
Don't know how much I will get on tomorrow......we will be up at the hospital most of the day with my sister in law...she needs someone to keep her company.....it has been really difficult for her staying with my BIL all day alone....don't know if my computer will be allowed or not.
I'm here!
Afternoon ladies. Had a bad storm this morning, and pc's turned off.
Well, Bonnie, hope you don't tread on too much water in your yard, like I do. There goes the opportunity to get rid of ants.. I was gonna do the grit thing.. Always after a rain, more mounds appear..
Cindy, you've just reminded me to cut down my passion flowers. I see a couple clematis coming up, and my joy.. Asiatic lilies. The frangipanis in the gh are not putting out new leaves.. still in slumber. There are 3 brugs, the old varieties, that are coming up, and I'll have to protect them as it's supposed to freeze Wednesday.
Also, surprisingly, my gingers are all shooting up!! Too early.. got to throw some old blankets over them too.
I have 3 Louisiana cypress trees leafing out. My link to a place I dearly love.
Hi Trisha, do you know anything about fiddlehead ferns? I am seeing a lot coming up this year. Heard they're delicious when cooked right.
Thought of harvesting a few, never done it before, so wondering if I should picked them at a certain height.
You'll be of cheer to your SIL, Trisha. Still praying for you and your family.. God certainly will provide you with the energy needed for you to help your loved ones.
Sun's out... yippee.. hope the grounds will dry up fast enough.. like I said, my fur babies are learning to love the rain.
Irish Confidence
On a vacation in Rome, I noticed a marble column in St. Peter's with a golden telephone on it. As a young priest passed by, I asked who the telephone was for. He told me it was a direct line to Heaven, and if I'd like to call, it would be a thousand dollars. I was amazed, but declined the offer.
Throughout Italy, I kept seeing the same golden telephone on a marble column. At each, I asked about it and the answer was always the same: a direct line to Heaven and I could call for a thousand dollars.
On the way homeward, I stopped in Ireland . I decided to attend Mass at a local village church. When I walked in the door I noticed the golden telephone. Underneath it there was a sign stating: "DIRECT LINE TO HEAVEN 25 cents."
"Father," I said, "I have been all over Italy and in all the cathedrals I visited, I've seen telephones exactly like this one. But the price is always a thousand dollars. Why is it that this one is only 25 cents?"
The priest smiled and said, "Ah! But you're in Ireland now! It's a local call."
Oh Jaye, I love that one, may I transfer a copy to B/W thread for Tubby??
Never have done anything with fiddleheads...have heard they are very good, but you should not eat too many of them (Can't remember why.....CRS).
It is sooooo beautiful out today......just so sad it isn't going to last:*(
Sure Trisha, if Tubby's an Irish Catholic, he'd sure to enjoy that one!
Jaye that is so cute.
