Kim, so happy for you. ^_^. The way things are going between Rick and I, I wished that I was in a position to buy a new house. I'm too far away from my family, and too many things are starting to happen to my mom. She will be 82 in June and I can see her slowing down more and more. Now she has a bum knee that's giving her probs she got a shot in it Wed. so I hope that will at least fix it for awhile.

Just taking a break, and holding my place here... I don't care what number I am... just so I'm here.

On the downhill slope now on the paint job, I think... last coat on door, and one of the chairs... 3 more to go.

Good timing for a break BJ just made chocolate chip and I think I will have a cup a tea than a nap got to take them when I can.

had a long talk with Randall as we awoke this morning about my eyes. got some wonderful tender hugs and cuddles. now have had a great workout in the pool.

Linda Kay, I'm understanding completely, been through this already with Mom and Nana. It's much harder on you. you are in my prayers. Mom is nurse and just could not let go, until Nana wasn't Nana anymore. Please make sure you know his wishes, they may be God's will. The nurses at the home always reminded me that old folks have a way of knowing when it's time, almost mystical.

well, I'm with Jaye, gonna go garden. my break time is over. but I'm still trying to figure out if we're going naked, or was it not naked. inquiring minds want to know.

oops! neighbor just called, our pool's foundation ties are bulging after this rain. gotta find me a retaining wall specialist.

Oh that's not good! Hope it's not expensive to fix.

How did we get from frigid cold to hot? Oh dear! I had promised not to complain when warm weather gets here :D So you sistahs know that I was sweating it out in the garden.

Did some clearing on an Asiatic Lily bed.. plenty of new growths.. can't wait for the beautiful scented blooms. I didn't buy anything this year except for the daylilies. May get the obligatory hanging baskets for instant flora.

BJ, answering your question... the sleeping mixes up my day and night. I haven't slept since 1 in the morning!!! Drinking coffee so I'll be back on regular bed time tonight!! Yep, I'm bouncing into walls, rakes, trellises!! But my body needed the rest for sure.

As you know, it takes longer for me to recuperate from any illness. Kel almost had a fit when he found out I've been in the heat for a couple hours.

I good today ,except I only slept frm 5am to 6am and then 10:30 to 12:30.

I wish it was hot here,they are saying we will be down in the 20's Monday and Tuesday with rain and possible snow............yay

Kim, remember how I said there's always something that costs $$ at the last minute?

most utilities require advance notice of a change and a deposit. don't wait around. here, land lines (phones) require 4 weeks notice. the seller will probably order the utilities turned off the day of closing or the day after. it may cost extra if they turn things off, cost less if they just transfer the account.

talk to your agent, he may already know what's in that neighborhood, or he may have it in the paperwork. you can go online and check things out, so you have whatever paperwork they require when you walk through the door, or perhaps you can do it all by phone. If you get lucky and have some of the same utilities now, you may only need to have them change your service address.

I've known sellers to turn off utilities early if there's no chance of property damage - get your agent to talk to the other agent and doublecheck what the seller plans to do.

Well, in my zeal to get one bed cleaned, I think I've sprained my ankle.
C'est la vie, ma soeurs.. and Tylenol to the rescue.. maybe a couple of Benadryl too to help me sleep. Nope, shan't be drowning them with wine, no fear there Bonnie :D

Morning Ladies !

I know most of you are still asleep... but I won't be here the rest of the day, so thought I'd post now.
I hate the way my days are planned for me at the last minute.
Son called last night while I was cooking dinner. Today is his birthday, and he wanted to go to Shreveport to a cattle auction for his birthday... wanted to know if Kristi could stay the weekend with me. WELL... of course I don't mind... DUH!!! Except, there's a catch... she works this weekend at Canton First Monday... so I have to taxi her back and forth.
I'm going to stay there and walk around today... looking for a table to go with the chairs I'm refinishing. I found one at a used furniture store, but they wanted too much for a "no frills" plain ole table. I just want a plain Jane, 4' square, card table size table to refinish... CHEAP... Don said he'd build it for me in all his spare time... but so far, he hasn't found any of that... and prospects for finding any spare time soon isn't looking good.
I'll also be looking for a Strawberry Pot... I've checked at Home Depot, and Lowes, and the garden center down the road... and nobody seems to have them. I remember when I used to see them everywhere... back when I wasn't interested in one.
Mike's never been to a HUGE flea market before... so this should be a real experience for him too.

Almost forgot... I wanted to also report on the minerals.
I bought a bottle at our local Health Food Store for $20 and started taking it again day before yesterday. I also started taking my 1oz of Apple Cider Vinegar because I've had some scary pains in my stomach again in the past week.

Yesterday, I noticed that my hands didn't cramp holding the paint brush like they usually do. I usually have to take frequent breaks to let my hands rest... not yesterday. And this morning, my hands aren't all swollen like they usually are in the mornings. I don't know if it's the minerals or the vinegar helping my hands... but either way... it's great.

I also felt like the energizer bunny yesterday... I couldn't sit still to save my life. Don even commented on my energy.
We'll see if it happens today again... I'm going to need it at the flea market.

court says my daughter can't file for custody until she files for divorce. BUT........... they also said as long as pam lives with me, and her father abandoned her and hasn't paid support, he can not come near her.

Took 2 Lyrica, a Darvocet and extra rubs of Tiger Balm to kill the pain, and gave me uninterrupted sleep.
Will certainly have to use that electronic chair at WM today.

Thank God we're living in this century. Bonnie, a lens implant is a modern miracle. You'd be able to enjoy the vision of your future grandkids, besides your irises!

Jaye, what is Lyrica for? Would it help my back pain? BTW, I've lost about 5 lbs. since I've been on metformin! Not but about 2 1/2 weeks!

this morning started out so gorgeous.

now, not so much. repair engineer just left. he says it would be best if I drain the pool to half. until further notice, can't use it. The verbal estimate is far beyond our ability to pay. the alternative is to remove the pool. boohoohoohoo.

Randall got down on that level looking at the damage (this is a 25 year old railroad tie wall supporting an inground pool on a downhill slope). it's a lot worse than he first thought.

the pool is the only reason we wanted this house. I know of no cheaper homes to buy near the folks, which is the only reason we looked in this part of town. we should have gone to harnett county where I could have had 2 acres of farm field for irises. I just knew it!

oh well. c'est la vie. I'm bummed. so I'm playing on here before I go get this mop cropped.

Have Sage today so just a quick pop in......OHHH BJ, I want to go too!!!
Have the minerals, will try the vinegar too.

A beautiful day here. I have been weeding and raking for two days. Well worth the work. Hostas,ferns and EE's are coming up. I doubt I will be able to walk tomorrow. I am so sore. Can you say out of shape !! lol
