۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞119
Hi Tina. Let's pray that tornado go far into the ocean...
Jaye,you are silly.
Beautiful azaleas Phyllis.
Hey Jaye.. I hear ya. It's raining buckets now.
I will be praying for you all in the bad weather.I know the feeling.
Jaye,i have to go outside for a bit.So let me know something when you can.
Love ya!!!
Thanks Cody.
We might need a pirogue to get out of here Tina. Oooh.. the thunders. My furry babies are staying close to us!
Phyllis, the middle picture taken yesterday, that's the prettiest I think.
A row of pink with white below it.
Somehow I'm getting hungry now. Frayed nerves can do that to me!!
Happy Anniversary Synda!
Wishing you and Rick many, many more!!
this band is coming in now, thunder, lightning and wind,,,what a combination. They are calling for 40mph winds, not gust, sustained 40. Hate those storms in the dark, would rather they be in the daylight so we know what's happening. I better shut down, sure wouldn't want to lose my pc. I always unhook the modem. Everytime I 've lost a computer, it's been through the phone modem.
You all stay safe up there and keep your radio on.
Hi,
Thank you!! Well, I haven't heard anything as of yet. I am guessing she is probably trying to wrap this around her head...LOL, got tired of waiting so tried to call, but got answering machine..yikes hung up... I think i am nervous too! But Yep, Jaye got a nice vintiage cocacloa waiting for the chat!
for now, I will induldge in a miller light.
Oh My Gosh, Jaye and Marion and Everyone in in the dangers of storms, do please be careful, stay in and warm.
Ohhh, BJ!! What Beauty your photos bring...Such vibrant colors!
speaking of hunger, going to make spegetti and meat sauce.
P.S.
Welcome to the Sistah hood Mcrochet! nice to meet you...and do be safe.
OMG, we are headed for a heck of a storm too, they are saying 3-5inches of SNOW!!! head shake ahhh, it's suppose to be spring.
...On another note, Jacob(DS) making a Sprite, and heavens putting mine to shame, LOL.
Well, I know what I want to do with my garden. I want a herb/useful garden by the door area with a seating area next to it. I also want a privacy something to break up my yard from the next door neighbors and block the view of the yard from the street, but it needs to be unattached/movable. I want stepping stones going from there to the front yard with a well covering mix of native, useful and pretty plants around them (just leaving enough area to walk uncovered). Out front I want the planter by the window to be full of ground cover and flowers. I would like to do hanging planter vegetables (peas, beans, tomatoes, etc.) with a large planter at the end of the driveway for larger vegetables and berries (might not be practical with the school right next door, though it might get the kids to eat there veggies). Do something with the area underneath the trees. The problem is how to pull it off and lack of money to pull it off. The ground is full of dips and weeds, so needs to be tilled, deweeded somehow and leveled out. I also have basically no money to put into the project. I am willing to do a small piece at a time, but I still don't have the resources to do much.
I haven't gotten much done on the house for awhile. First there was dog sitting, than since I got back I've been hosed (tired all day, but unable to sleep) and I've been running a very low grade fever, but enough that it's caused my eyes to hurt. It might be my Spring allergies, I might be sick, or ... I'm trying to get more done, but it's slow going.
Judy, I just have to comment on your niece!! Back in Sept, on my DH's birthday, he received a phone call from his daughter whom he hasn't seen since she was 2 years old and she's now 18 1/2!! He's tried and tried to contact her, but the ex moved and refused to let him know where she was even though she made dang sure that she got his support check!
What a wonderful birthday present that was for him!! He cried afterwards, because it was a dream come true. Turns out that his oldest daughter (Devon's half sister) had tracked her down through MySpace and had talked to her on there and then by phone. She was the one who gave DH's phone number to Devon so that she could call him.
They've kept in contact ever since then!
So I sure know how you feel!! Congratulations :)
Chris
Going to get my son his bath,he had a late nap.Get mine while i'm at it.Will be back on later.
Whew, I found the last tiny bread crumb. You guys don't leave much to follow! LOl
Love the azaleas, they are so pretty. I saw some at the home depot today, but they wanted $23.00 per bucket for them! All kinds of pinks, dark, light, and white!
I am off to bed, for a good nights slepp. Y'all take care.
LK

Donna
Morning everyone. Cody, those are beautiful azaleas!
Donna, glad you popped in to say hello! Really glad to hear you got to spend a night with hubby!
Coffee is on, time to wake up.
LK
Morning,
Yesterday it was 81, today it is cold and windy.
Donna good to see you check in. How are things going?
LK, I'll take a cup of coffee, Thanks ^_^ Think I will make some breakfast takealogs this morning. Made some brownies from scratch. Forgot the walnuts :(
Good morning! I slept in this morning and now feel like I need to run around catching up on the daylight I missed. So what do I do first?? I get on DG LOL!!!! Works for me :)
Today..I tackle the walkin closet.. I'm terrible! Like a little kid, I throw stuff in there ..kinda out of sight, out of mind. But now I can just barely step inside..that's it.. and it's a walkin! LOL Good thing DH loves me the way I am :)
When we first met, I told him.. I don't iron, so if you want something ironed, you'll do it yourself or send it to the cleaners. He was fine with that! Then one day, a few years after we married, I wanted to wear a particular blouse to work, but it was wrinkled. So I pulled out the ironing board and ironed it. He stood there with his jaw down around his feet. "I thought you said that you didn't iron???" I just laughed and said "Sweetie, I said I didn't iron, but I never said that I didn't know HOW to iron".
That was how I earned my allowance as a little girl.. for every 12 pieces that I ironed for my mom, I received 50 cents :) I HATE IRONING! But I'm really good at it LOL
Ok, off to clean the closet.. see you later!
Chris
Oh thanks for the information Donna. It will definitely get a "haircut" either today or tomorrow afternoon. Baby sitting the granddaughters tomorrow morning--their spring break. Not complaining as I need some "grandma" time!
Sun is up but with a "nip" in the air for sure. We should have today and tomorrow with sun and nice weather then repeat the process starting Tuesday. More rains coming . Not complaining as we certainly needed the rain but a good slow rain would have been so beneficial--not one that washes. I am at the bottom of a slight sloped street and all the neighbor's debris washes down into my drive. All that to clean up now!
Hope everyone is doing well today and Cindy, shame on you, forgetting the walnuts!! I adore brownies with walnuts--seldom get them as Kim doesn't eat nuts. Strange child.
Linda Kay the coffee is exceptionally good this morning. Really enjoying it, thanks!!
Good Sunday Mornin' Sistahs... hope everyone is well and happy this morning... may your day be productive.
After a week of rain and cold weather, I think it's suppose to warm up now, again... or so the weather man says, anyway.
Mike's been itching to mow, so I'm going to let him do that today... I'm going to do some trimming of flower beds that I don't have edging around... and I might get started on the one bed I have left to resurrect after the walk was finished.
Don is off tomorrow and Tues... and I'm going to insist that we clean off the sun porch... all that vinyl is suppose to be delivered this week, and I want to be ready to start on the boat seats... here's the thing... I'd have already done that... but, he doesn't want to take the Christmas stuff back to the storage room because some mice got into it, and ate some of the decorations. He has plans to close in the ceiling of the carport and store everything up there... but, he hasn't done that, and really doesn't have time right now... and there's other things that need to get done immediately. I think I'll win this argument.
I had the strangest dream last night... I don't usually remember my dreams... except when they're really bothersome. I dreamed that the neighbor put his house up for sale. It's a really nice house, on 3 1/2 lots, on the deep water side of our street. BIG HOUSE... I went over and looked at it, and found that they were selling for a dirt cheap price... it was soooo light and airy... not dark like ours. I begged Don to sell our house and buy that one... and he put his foot down and said NO... then I woke up... DARN...
The strange part was that Don really never puts his foot down with me... guess that's what shocked me awake.
Well, Mike's up and getting his breakfast... I better get started now if we're going to get anything done.
Good MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMORNING All My Sistaha's
I have been sick and busy My DS was here and we got allot packed him being a professional mover He is on the way today for Oklahoma

Flaming Kim
Oh my Flamingo Kim, things are really moving fast. Hope you are feeling much, much better--bummer being sick at this time. I am so excited for you getting your new home and I did see the pictures. Love the kitchen. Was so busy with the festival, I lost track of my life for a while but that is over for another year and I can return to normal--well as normal as I can be.
Maid Marion
I can't remember Did you get that Calendar so you keep track HAHA
Oh yes I did and it is hanging by my computer already filled in with tons of dates! Yuck! Thank you, thank you and also for the adorable ladybug chimes!! In the last few weeks things started running together for me. Especially when a member had to drop out at the last minute due to illness--major panic as he was in charge of getting all the tents, tables and chairs used in various locations. Thank goodness others stepped in and all went okay. Love the calenders so much--not all the notes filling it up already. Oh well, better to stay active than shrivel up and blow away.
sun is shining! Jaye, you stay clear of those strong winds? Friday night tornado in Fayetteville, last night in Dunn. you ok? we're supposed to get sheering winds today, but not much rain.
SUN IS OUT - what am I doing typing!?
Thanks LK.
Ok, Bonnie... you win... my sun porch is only 70' long... and after tomorrow... I hope we have a wider pathway through it... at least.
Yes, Marion... can't let any moss gather under your feet... it's best to stay busy... so every time you see all those "to do" notes... just say a little prayer to thank God you have the health to do it.
That's what I'm doing today... I'm tackling that "last" bed next to the walk... thanking God that its a beautiful day to do it, and that I have the health to get it done.
Kim... you're so lucky to have your family around to help you with this move... you're gonna be in hog heaven when you finally get in there.
Laura... take your time... don't stress about it all... it'll all get done in due time.
Break time is over... back to work.
OMG......there is this bright stuff outside and the sky is this strange color....I think they call it ...blue? From the old Bill Cosby routine on Seattle "What did we do?"......it is cold though, was down in the thirties last night...may make it to fifty today....
Not doing the bike ride today....trying to get a few things done here before we go out to Orion's.....maybe Laura and I can work on the Studio after that for a bit....sort of "pay for taxi service?"
Everyone's flowers and gardens are so cool !!!! I am sooo ready for warmer weather!!!
Kim so exciting....I know you are ready to be all done and in the new house!!! So happy for you!
Bonnie, if it's that windy and you're going out put a brick in your pocket so you don't blow away!
Jaye, have you started on any clay projects yet?
Well the Dog is telling me I have been here long enough and we need to do our long walk...works out okay, I need to pick up some moss and branches for a photo back drop...TTYL
ok, now I've skimmed through earlier posts.
Judy! I am so excited for you. the same thing happened to the fella where I have my second iris garden planted. His girl contacted him when she was pregnant with her first child at 21. Now he's got 2 grandkids he dotes on. I'm hoping hoping for a happy ending for y'all, too!
no contest BJ, I saw your sunporch, and it's a tie. you had a might big slew of babies out there. just wanted you to know you are NOT alone. LOL
Laura, this is my rosemary, hardy to zone 7, needs lots of sun. you want some cuttings for your herb garden? they are woody, you should be able to root them. say the word and I'll send some cuttings by post. oh ho! I think that pennyroyal I thought died is poking out from under it! now I'll have to move it.... and I'm about to divide some groundcover sedums out for a RU. they take sun to partial sun.
Why do we hate ironing so much?
It's bright, sunny and already 65 degrees!
Does anyone know if Sweet William will grow in red clay dirt?
I want to go plant some seeds!
I have some fabric for photo background that I need to iron...it has been so long I can't find my iron!!! Actually, I have a steamer that uses most of the time, but I need this fabric starched or sized and it is a light cotton canvas type fabric and the steamer isn't the tool for this job:(
Found Rhubarb in the garden this morning!
