Garden photos of '09.....#9
I had even hoped he had written down the wrong variety, wouldnt be surprised if he had.
Ahhhhh well. Pink will look OK not Great but ok.
Oriental Garden supply really wholesales JM's and the other Japanese Gardens plant life but the main thrust of the business are the Maples.
lol...before you do that... Give me some time to look at some id. books on Rocket. Rocket, leaves Usually curl under just a teeny tiny bit on the edges, your do not. But, sun can affect that too and make them flat. Anyhow, I want to compare and see if I can find picture of Rocket in different situations to see if it matches yours.
I wont go balistic until they bloom pink and then I'll pay him a friendly visit and get them changed, trouble is the Blue Angels you gave me are planted behind the Rhodys,I dont want men tramping on my hostas
I'll just have to be patient.
Maenwhile there is joy in my life.
I'm a mother,my Oriental Poppies are sprouting.
I couldnt be happier.
They spent 3 weeks in the freezing garage and I brought them into the bathroon two days ago ,thought they would take a week to sprout but no. There they were.

RC to the rescue. she is good. I know that Ge1836, being an artist, must hate having the wrong color combo. I do too, but more often it is poor planning on my part or an enhanced photo in the garden catalog. Hate that. We recently moved a Rhodie after the deer ate all the buds, save one. Fingers crossed that is a color that you can use, somewhere. Patti
I'm so mad they can take them back and replace them grattis.
He is so diffacult to deal with. Has a history in the Zen Center and doesnt quite have meeting customers needs papamount.
I really must stop befor I obcess and ruin my day of Oriental Poppy birth.
I know what you mean about miss colored plants in catalogues. I cancelled Veronicas Red Fox because the google pictures (10 of em) were too pink.
I can tell in pictures online when a red isnt really red. The color of the leafy parts is too deep earth green. Someone manipulated the digital befor publication. The same for purples, leaves are too bluish.
OP's are sprouting.HOOOOO-RAY
Beautiful shots, Shelly!
JoAnn - Let's see how Zen-centered your nursery guy is when you return his wrongly-named cultivars and a piece of your mind! LOL And congrats on the OP seedlings. That's very exciting. For some reason, I've not done well with those, so I'm impressed!
Our neighbor 2 houses away just emailed us about the fragrance from these........
Orange blossoms! They are sweet! Jo Ann---that nursery guy sounds like the pits! I'll steer my niece away from him. Shelley & Victor--loved the photos---great colors---Anita & Patti also--nice collages. My camera finger is itching, but I guess I'll look before I lie down to take a shot!
We finally have enough of the snow cover gone so that we can see the crocus sprouting, the tulips sprouting, the daffodils sprouting, the allium sprouting and the columbine sprouting! We are sooooooo happy!!
OOOOOO Patti. thats so beautiful.
The OP's arent in the ground yet, a long way before I congradulate myself.
Film at 11
ohhhh Candyce its a great feeling I concur
Thanks Robin and Brook!
Jo Ann..... so the answer is...... well, I'm going to email your picture to a specialist friend of mine! Rocket, when grown in the sun, the leaves do curl under. However, grown in the shade. They're flat. Which is similar to yours. Go figure! A unique vein structure sets 'Vulcan' apart from others. that's what makes it easy to spot. However, 'vulcan tetraploid' does not have that unique structure, I didn't realize that until I read up on it some today, and it looks pretty similar to yours. So.... I'll send it off to a friend. We'll probably have an answer by Tuesday evening. lol.
This is great RC
I'll be waiting- - I'm calmer now.

These next two sort of go together.
I like to stop at this particular spot in my commute because it's a good place about half way in the commute to walk around a bit, it's just about a 1/4 mi. out to this view point.
From the view point looking West, towards Eugene and the coast... eventually.

pretty shot RC
Takes my breath away
WOW
Thanks bunches to both of you!
Jo Ann, it was cold enough that it took my breath away too! lol. You'll see why in the second picture.
Very nice Shelly!
love the colors!
I'm so glad that you're better now Jo Ann. That's excellent news!!! i'm just now loading the video. My computer's pretty slow.
my computer won't let me view it... must not have the right plug in or something
Thanks again! I always love that spot where I can look two different directions and clearly see two very different weather patterns and climates. However, sun went down on me tonight. So no time for extra pictures as i booked it back to my car. It was quite chipper!
mine's tweaking a bit and thinking about it. lol. that's nothing new though.
That song is fantastic Jo Ann!!! thanks for sharing. I love it! I always like 'stand by me' anyhow, but it's even better done like that!
loved the movie too.
GF sent it
Beautiful pictures RC.....love the colors in that second one!!!!!
Gorgeous water shots, Shelly. You live in beautiful area!
very nice. I wonder how many people don't 'see' that on their commute. I remember when I still did medical software training having to commute into Chinatown for a period of time. The morning sun on the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline was so amazing. I often wondered if any others that drove by it every morning still appreciated the site and beauty of it.
OHHH, that is a great spot to stretch your legs. Just beautiful. Can I build a place there?
great pictures shelly - did not notice the witches broom above?
Saw the witches broom! Amazing--but not as amazing as those photos---that kind of beauty always makes my heart ache---must be from a reincarnation!
nice JM
color is in the eye of the beholder - b. kawa looks bright pink not beet red to me
ok the white flowers on a pink flowered bush is the witches broom - saw it did not know what it meant.
