nice pit stop
Garden photos of '09.....#9
sorry the green one
No worries!
Sorry, I just realized that I didn't quite resize those two right. At least I didn't leave them full size I guess.
they fit just fine on my side
OMG Shelly
Wait!!!!!!!! - let me pull in a visual on the pit-stop.
he he
cross posted, they look great on my side too.
The first pitstop is a winner. Light on the trees is just beautiful
lol.... I figured that might get someones attention. However, it's a little true as it is just a one car pull out along the highway, no signs and no markers, that indicate that there's a 50' falls behind that rock! It was just to muddy to climb without boots that day, and I didn't pack those in my car too!
I agree about the light. That crevace is actually along a really shady, dark spot in the highway and enough light was filtering down through there that it was casting out into the highway. I HAD to stop!
How do you live with sooooo much amazment all the time. I would have visual overload and not be able to handle practical matters every day.
lol..... well, you have to know that the sun doesn't show itself for that long during this time of the year. It will be grey most of the day, then sun comes out for 10 min. and you just have to stop and look at everything!!
i'm hoping to be able to get to that falls behind there someday at the precise moment when it actually gets sun for about 5 min. out of the day. I have to be lucky enough to not be at work during that day as well!
Hollyshi- I have even more respect for your photos then
Oh the lovely clay, I know that one. What color of clay is yours. The grey that you can make cement with, or the orange that you can grease berings with?
ROTFLOL..... you're too funny Jo Ann. Thanks, I needed that. Just for kicks now I have to find that picture that I took of the falls last year at about 3 in the afternoon, on a sunny day no less!
that's mostly what I have as well. Everything in the front yard is solid clay with about an inch of top soil. But, at least the back yard is pretty decent stuff.
Here's the falls that is just about a hundred feet behind that rock outcrop in the pick above. the pic has been lightened, a lot, so that it could be seen. Picture was taken in the mid afternoon.
Jo Ann, I forgot to mention that sometime between March and April, the grey days heavily decrease and lend towards either raining all day or sun. I sooooo look forward to that!

beautiful.
I had hoped we got rain all night but I see barely wet mulch on the lazagna bed. I hope it will rain all day today.I really want the lazagna to start working.
well, hopefully that will happen for you! that would be great. we might get sun today!!
its a cloudy next few days, they say rain but I want real rain not just damp ness and clouds.
Dyane I didn't want to mention too much about what I saw at the Christmas Tree Shop....gets me into trouble every time! lol
They do have a lot of bulbs....got some very nice Dahlia's last year from there.
They also have some of the cuttest Easter decorations and it's one of the few places I can find Rhubarb-Strawberry perserves.
Nice pics RC!
Man, do you live in a great place, Shelly! Beautiful shots. Love that green hellebore.
That green hellebore is simply stunning.
Celeste, I came home with Astilbe, Black Eyed Susan, Cranesbill Geraniums, Columbine and Globe Thistle.
The bulbs were: Drumstick Alliums, Sparaxis, Dutch Iris, Ixia, Anemones, Hardy Gladioli.
The Dahlias and Cannas looked great but I have them coming in from a coop. I had to stop somewhere!
great pictures shelly - the waterfall is something!!
You did way more damage than me! lol I only came home with the Poppy Seed Mix and Pink Balloon flowers.
I'd love to hike in your area, Shelly. Anyone care to start a new thread?
