saw the baby photo, oh how darling.

no time to read. wanted to say hi. On her day off, DD Bevin came by with donuts this morning, planning to spend the day with me cleaning the family room for Ruth Jean's "friend" birthday party Saturday. only she didn't tell me!! I was about to leave for aquatics class. we ate donuts, I went to class, she walked the dog, came back and attacked that horrible mess.

I'm also doing 5 loads of laundry, and I'm so tired and sore! we're wearing dust masks, but the dust got to us both. I took Aleve, she took antihistimin. that girl has worked mom into the ground! It's so embarassing when I realize I can't work like she can anymore. Ruth came home from school and was handed more to do of her personal stuff.

got to get back - break's over. it's out for Mexican food later, we're not done yet. we've found 7 teaspoons, 27 pencils, $15.00+ cash and $75 in lost gift certificates.

It is amzing what we find, when we really clean the house!
I found a lost necklace one time. It had been missing for quite some time! Yep, in the crack of the sofa!

Well, my mom's nerve cut surgery was turned down by insurance, that's over $25,000 for insurance that she pays for every month and they won't pay for a surgery that she had to have because the dr who did the nerve cut is located inside a pain clinic and pays lease to the pain clinic.

Iye yey yey!

I'm going to say gnight, I've had a migrane all day and I'm going to go lay down with a heating pad on my neck.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes. I am now trying to find a way to start giving the B Days away ! lol Debra congratulations on the new grandbaby. I'm so glad everyone is OK. OMG... Deborah... she's adorable... Son and DIL are too, and look very happy.

Trisha... it's awsome... you're getting soooo good at clay.

Cindy... the geeky bird is too cute... keep that up girlfriend...

Bonnie... when you're done, I can use you back here at my house.

Well, no pictures at the museums today... couldn't even take the camera into the King Tut exhibit... so I sent Don back to the car with it. The exhibit was extraordinary... I recommend it to anyone if the exhibit comes near you. Trisha... there were lots of young kids there.

Then we went to the Dallas Book Depository to view the JFK exhibit... believe it or not, I've never seen that, and it's right here. Was the highlight of Mike's day... he said he never knew all that about JFK.

Then, we ate downtown in the historic district, called "The West End". I had the best burger I have ever eaten, chopped sirloin cooked with a mix of soy sauce and balsamic vinegar, then topped with blue cheese and all the regular burger toppings, grilled onions and mushrooms... OMG, it was good.

I think I walked 10 miles today.

Then, on the way home, we passed the Dallas Farmer's Market, and I made Don stop so I could pick up some fresh fruit. Of course, I know it's grown in Chili... not local... but it all looked so much better than at the grocery store. I also left there with armloads of fresh fruit and veggies for about $20... and a flat of eggs. I also got a 6 pk of Celebrity Tomato Plants, and a 6 pk of banana pepper plants. And, that was the highlight of my day.

Got home, and Don went to work on my computer... still working on fixing it, so I'm using his.
He said I have way too many things running on it... in the start up menu. So, before he goes getting rid of stuff, he's backing it up now.

And, that is all we've done today... and I'm tired.

Thats all? Geesh, made me tired just reading it, and all that walking! Sounds like it is time for a hot shower, and some rest! Glad to hear you all had a good time.

Crissy, sorry to read your mum's insurance won't approve of her necessary surgery. As long as it's a doctor that recommends it, what difference where he sets up office! Can't understand insurances..
We know of a lady whose husband passed away a month ago. They had life insurance with AIG and they will only half of the principal amount, saying they don't have any money?????? Come on now..
Since the fiasco, I think her lawyer will have it easy.

BJ, I've always add a touch of soy to my burgers.. give that oomph! Also makes a wonderful steak marinade with aged balsamic vinegar and soy. Not so ancient Chinese secret :D

BJ sounds like a wonderful time!! I would love to see Tut again....and all the rest for the first time.....We moved from TX/OK the year before Kennedy was shot....all of our trips back since then have been with my mom...mostly for funerals...short visits with no time to see anything....my dream is to someday get back there with some time to spend, visit the old home place and just get to see something. I did get to see the Morrow Building the last trip...my little brother was along and doing all the driving and he knew mom would never stop there before....it is a beautiful memorial, but still a difficult place to visit...uuummm uuummm

That is a great combination for a burger....just finished dinner and it makes me hungry again...

that room yesterday! it had been newted. the dust made us both sinus problems today.

haven't time to read, more to clean for party. but did y'all to know: that was a photo of our pool the day we took the pool cover off a month too late. when we winterize, the pump and chlorine systems are shut down. if there's hot weather in early spring, that's what it always looks like. here is same pool after two weeks of running pump and filters. this photo was taken at twilight right out the patio door.

So you are telling us pool is open??? Do we bring our own refreshmenets? LOL

Phyllis had the coffee, if that is gone, I have more going here!

Had my weigh in at Curves today.......lost 4.75 inches and 2.40 pounds. Last night I had some chocolate chip cookies that Rick made (more chips than dough) and I told him "i'm going to have to burn 500 calories in the morning...........I burned up 545 yippie.
Well, gotta go get ready to go pick up my mom then head to Vacaville to visit my brother so I will be MIA until tomarrow morning.

My back is giving me fits today....have to go out to Mother Jo's to visit our friend from Church.....she originally was supposed to go home early this week, but I guess she is not doing very well......that family has had so many health problems....

Stacey and Betty have a great visit....we are all quite envious!!

Cloudy today....not overly cool...don't know if we will get rain but at least it is calm....my poor dog can do without the wind for a nice change.

Oh dear Trisha, be careful now. No lifting.. even for 5 pounds. Just the act of bending will put pressure on your back. If you have to bend, lower your knees.

It's sunny and 75* right now... and I just finished getting my veggie patch ready to plant. Sad to say that I had to put the veggies in my secret garden area where the wooden deck will go some day... I just can't get the veggie garden dug this year in time to plant... so, I will plant there next year.

Now, I'm going to go plant my new tomatoes and peppers I got yesterday... and the cherry tomatoes I planted from seed a couple months ago... and maybe some zucchini seeds. I have some bell peppers to plant, but they're not big enough yet.

Betty... you and Stacey have a great time... for all of us.

Trisha... that back is telling you to quit pushing yourself so hard... mine does the same thing, and taking a day off from heavy stuff helps it so much.

Congrats Cindy... sounds like you're doing so good at Curves.

Gotta get busy again before I change my mind and quit for the day... I'm on a roll.

Wanda Welcome to the group.. These ladies are great.. Just ignore me as we are preparing t omove from Fl to Oh in 8 weeks so Im crazy in circles lately.. lol

Well I thought I woul dshare what has been keeping us crazy.. We did a tune up on the old pickup (plugs, wires, cap, rotor).. And Max set me loose with the sander on getting it ready to be primered.. I also got the bumpers and rims painted black and they look so much better.. LOL He knows I cant stand the way it looks so we are going primer gray for the trip home so it isnt so crazy looking going up the road.. .. lol

Welp... Mike and I made my very own veggie garden today... never had one... always grew my tomatoes and peppers in the flower beds... but this year, I wanted them all together... so, I'm using the space where the deck is going to be someday in the secret garden. It's not very big, but enough for what I had to plant.

Then, I put two of my brugs in the ground, and a yellow butterfly ginger. Then I dug up the white butterfly ginger from the front bed, and planted it in the secret garden. Then I dug the oriental lily up in the front bed and moved it to the tropical garden. BTW... who was it I promised some oriental lilies to when they came up this year? I don't remember... I have three pots with 3 each bulbs with sprouts for someone.

Then, we decided to go for a ride on the jet skis... but the batteries were dead... so we took the battery off one of them and have it on the charger for the night.

So, Mike dug the trench, and I finished planting the rest of the monkey grass... well, got to the end of the walk with it... but still have monkey grass left... got lots of places to use it though.

And, now I'm tired and hungry... so Mike and I are going to find something to eat.

I'm beat. the room now looks like a real family room. Bevin even figured out a better way to arrange our furniture for better lighting and such. I've almost caught up all the laundry, cleaned both up and down foyers, and the front stoop, and rearranged my plant shelves that are in one corner of that room. Have had a massive headache from dust, so Randall and Ruth went to buy the snacks and drinks and rent the movies for the party.

have Thalia daffs surrounded by grape hyacinths about to pop open in one of the first garden beds I made.

LK and Doe - most roses I know of need trimming back. But most I'm familiar with need dormancy, too, so I better shut up because LK's would never go dormant, I don't think. we have to force them dormant here.

when pool opens, all are invited for a...n...invigorating dip. Yeh, that's what it is, invigorating.
