Whew it looks like i missed some chatting today.. Been a productive day and I DID get the yard mowed.. lol I found 3 fire ant piles.. oo how i cant wait to leave them nasty buggers behind.... Finished up teh mound of laundry to be washed , folded and packed into space bags. I have no idea how Max slept as soundly as he did but he said he didnt hear a sound.. I started my to do list and wow looking at it now Im really glad I have until mid may before we planne dto go although I would still like to go ooner I think I will get things on that big list done more appropriately.. Things to mail out , certification paperwork from the barbers board, transferring nursery info as shut down, Bellas ast set of puppy shots (figure get them here cheaper at her regular vet and its done for w while) just stuff you know.. I figure I can get it done without stressing to badly .. lol

LK had no idea either you were so close to the border,, I have heard about the violence on the other side and wondered how far it extended..

Trisha .. lol I know that sound.. Will stop most anyone hearing a shotgun rack even if they arent used to hearing it. Its just one of those sounds.. Personally we have a 38 and a 22.. Max bought the 22 from a nieghbor in a bind and I was furious because we had agreed to get a shotgun.. the 38 was a gift from my mom for Maxs birthday but we consider it ours.. Both of us want to get our conceled carry permit and have been hunters up until we moved here so I have no fears with using just about any gun. Hehe I alos keep a ball bat by the door and a cast iron skillet in the kitchen on top of the stove..

Love mondograss.. especially the black mondo but it grows to slow from what I heard about it here, maybe to hot ..

Well I better get to bed..

Hey Jaye,i bought 3 camellias 5 gallons for 18.00 at Doug Youngs Nursery. The only thing is don't know the names of them. They Don't keep up with the names of them.I will take a picture of them tomorrow and post it.

Good night!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Raleigh, NC

well, I'm impressed. I can't use a gun. I was security, but unarmed. have a theory that menopausal woman should not be given gun because we very likely to use it. often. actually, Im a bit afraid of them. can you imagine how I feel to have a daughter armed? not that happy. but a bit more happy to think she's well trained. she's a great shot. I think she learned to thumb her nose at her dad, who shot preOlympic trials and didn't ever take her to shoot when he took her younger brother.

but when I was mugged, the perp kept behind me and said he had a gun and was going to shoot me. I turned over my shoulder and told him he'd have to show me the gun before I'd believe it. the deputy cracked up when he heard that. so did the security guys that hired me! and I found it was second nature in that job to be running towards the trouble, not away. we had several guards to do that, they didnt last.

I thought monkey grass was liriope. thought mondo was different. had some black liriope, but is very very slow growing. yesterday, I found Randall had accidentally covered it with a heavy piece of slate after I trimmed it back for the winter. darn. no sign of it now.

well, I'm going to try to sleep now.

it's not inner ear - I get that often, and I know what that feels like, there's always pressure in my right ear. no pressure. and it's getting better now that I found and am taking allegra every night.

sweet dreams sweet ladies

Morning everyone. Coffee is ready, and hot apple turnovers will be done in a few. If I am not here help yourself, I will be out shoveling dirt!
Kim, I hope you got your truck fixed! Have a safe trip, and we will hear from you on Monday.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good Morning! We have donuts here in the office if anyone would like some.

Just doing my daily check in, I miss chatting with ya'll, but when the weather is so nice like it has been these past few days it's real hard for me to sit on the computer, I want to get dirty lol!

Yesterday evening I noticed some more bulbs coming up, and my iris have these Huge buds on them, and my coreopsis from last year are just starting to pop their heads out of the dirt, spring is coming!! Now if it doesn't freeze again...

I'm going to try to catch up on the threads today, hopefully I won't be too awfully busy, but I have about 5 pending projects I need to work on ug.

Where is everyone today??

Did get my car fixed-$170-so not too bad

Kim-I had that happen on a Grand Prix I had-was pulling into a mall parking lot and BAM-it just quit-and it was the fuel pump-I had just filled the tank, so they had to get all the gas out, then take off the tank, then replace the filter, then put it back on and I was so mad-they only gave me about 1/4 of a tank back!! This was in 97 and it was $500 then, so I think you got a pretty good deal!!

I have a ton to do today to prepare for my trip to Betty's this weekend-so just remember that I won't be here til Tues night/Wed am unless I am able to get on at Betty's

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Waiting on the turnovers to turn! But will grab the coffee...
I have a habit of spooning whipped cream over coffee after dinner. But for breakfast, just coffee and 2 tsp. of Sweet and Low will suffice.
No donuts for me, Crissy.. unless it's one of those creme filled ones.

Good day everyone!!
Not bad niece, not much damage there! Yeah, if the fuel pump's placed behind the fuel tank, that would cost a fortune. I take the $170 bill rather than a 700!
When you do see Betty, please give about 30 great hugs for us will ya? That visit will be a nice reunion!

Have a safe trip to the dentist, Kim.

LK, I'd be offering you help in shovelling that dirt. Alas, the man I volunteered says it's too far!!

Cookie, are you into the 2nd phase of the pond yet? "Kubota"ing the ground up?

Look up ladies.. it's Tina in MB grand day today!!!

hApPy BiRtHdAy T I N A

We wish you joy and laughter and it's mandatory there should be no stress in Tina's house today!!

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Morning, or should I say afternoon. You're right Staceypoo, it is quiet on here today. Everybody must be outside. It's a goregous day today in my neck of the woods. The grass has greened up nicely and the weeds like Carolina Geranium and that purple flowered clover stuff needs mowing. I still have two beds left in the back yard to weed out and then mulch. After those two I'll tackle the two front island beds. Then on to the pond gardens. Whew, just typing that out makes my back hurt.

Ashley and Riley are doing fine. Need Riley to eat more than she's doing though. She falls asleep for taking all of her formula. What's happening is she's feeling Ashley's heart beat while sucking the bottle and she drifts off to sleep before drinking enough ounces. Ashley may need to position her away from her body so she'll take more bottle. As soon as she's off the medication for seizures she'll start breast feeding her. That should really put her in dreamland. LOL

I have the can't-help-its today. Can't seem to get motivated to get out of my jammies. Maybe a cup of Cafe Francsis will get my old engine going. My butt has dragged long enough now.

To all my sistahs and nieces, I love y'all.

Did I tell y'all? Lisa went home yesterday! They mush have given her some high-powered antibiotics! She was feeling much better when I talked to her!
I hope to do some work on my quillow today. I need to get it done, I just haven't been able to stay awake!
The staph infection is getting better, it itches, and I scratch it the only way I can, up against a door facing! It's oozing, and I'll be glad when it quits that, I can't bandage it, can't reach it!
I have hyacinths blooming, a tulip in bud, and other lilies coming up! Love it! I think it was Phyllis who sent me all the bulbs. I hope they all come up, I killed my back planting them! I also have buttercups up, but I don't know if they'll bloom this year.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Afternoon everyone. Well, I think I got most of the soil transferred to the garden. And I am off for a hot shower. Cindy, I wish I had your hot tub closer!
I have a beautiful orange rose open today, and buds on my peace rose. Buds on the mandavilla, and on the one and only amaryllis!
Yep, it looks like Spring is right a round the corner!
Cody, those are beautiful blooms! Nice colors!
Deborah, do we have to come and get the pictures ourself? Us Grandma's need our baby picture fix for the day please?

LK, do you trim back your roses every year? Mine had so many leaves budding I didn't have the heart to do it!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I only trim them back a little. I keep them trimmed back through the year, as they bloom, I try to keep a few in the house in a vase for my Dad. He loves the fresh flowers! Mine never die back, there are always leaves on them.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Afternoon everyone, well it's still good morning to you Cindy!
Think I have to stay away from the sweets,b ut I will take doubles on the coffee!

Happy Birthday Tina!!

Hi Wanda, welcome to the group!

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

LK, I do cut the blooms for bouquets. I guess that will be enough, and I dead head them! I've always trimmed roses in the spring before, but these were just loaded with leaves, and I didn't have the heart to do it!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello Wanda, welcome to the group! Please tell us a bit about yourself, when you get the chance. We know where you live, tell us your gardening interest, your hobbies, or crafts you like to do. We also like pictures, so feel free to send some along.
