Ahh, I'm back. It's been a crazy day.

Laura, I know it is a big job, but how fun it would be to start with a blank slate. I am sure this time next year you will have a beautiful garden that just flows around your house. And that fence. We can't have fences in my neighborhood, and though it is very pretty here, I would love to be able to have blooming things on a fence. I have trellisy things all over, but still, I love climbing roses, and clematis...all the things that look so good on fences. I'll bet you will have great ideas for yours.

Terry, what great ideas you have, and your building skills are remarkable. I have a really bad back too, from polio, and it is difficult for me to do things at a low level, so the straw bales have always intrigued me. You have made me want to try them. But then I also want to try the hanging veggies....and everything else that will grow. I am also going to have heirloom tomatoes, but they will be in the ground, I think.

Mary, you won't see this till tomorrow, but I know you will shed some tears tonight and probably again in days to come. But I'll be thinking of you, as will a lot of others.

Betty, I am printing out all my articles to put them in my scrapbook. I love it. It will take me awhile, because I realize I am short on paper and long on stories. But I'll get it done. In the meantime I have been working on this couch, and it is tough work. Right now the thing is upside down, and the cats are trying to figure out again what has happened to their house.

Well, I missed the Night Crew, so I'll say good night and good morning all at the same time. Have a good Friday all.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Sharran, cats don't like it when we mess with their stuff do they.....my cat is as bad as my granddaughter when it comes to "don't change anything"! Laura's cats....one hides and the other is in the middle of Everything!!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Koshka (my hidey cat) is actually doing fairly well this time, if anything she's more friendly now.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Cats are funny about things. I was doing some stitching on the arms of the couch. I poked the curved upholstery needle in, and Daisy tried to grab it, every time. I was so afraid I would poke her. She usually is the aloof one, but there was something about that needle that she just had to touch.

And Laura, I bet it is hard on them to move.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Last time I was worried about Koshka, she went and hid for over a week and was licking all the fir off her tail, but I haven't had any issues this time. Even taking them in the car they were fine. Getting Koshka in the carrier was interesting, finally had to shove her in backwards. She hides when we move things around, but other wise she's been if anything more friendly. Nero was right at home being himself; sticking his nose in everything.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

One time a vet told me that when carriers won't work, a pillow case usually will. They don't like it but after a few minutes they go to sleep. I don't much like the thoughts of that, so I haven't tried it. Of course you don't need it now anyway since you have them in your new home. I always wondered if they would smother in a pillow case, but guess not. I still don't like to think of it, and probably would not do it.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

She was fine once I put her in, just didn't want to go in.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

It took both of us to get her in the carrier.......not a happy kitty!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

But no yowling when we were moving her, quite happy to get out though; of course I think I'd feel the same in her position.

Morning...

Mary, do hope you've managed to get a good nights rest..am sure you tossed and turned wondering if your decision was the right one...it was..think at times we keep our pets longer than we should for our sake not theirs...I to will know when it's time to put the old girl down..funny how it happens, as soon as I contemplate doing it, Sailor becomes a pup again...guess she's telling me it's not time yet...

Tubby, how tragic that the 'c' has done damage to your back...now did all those plants have to get done in such a short time span, you couldn't have just done a few each day now could you..pulling a Judy and Liz, 'hands on hip and pointing a motherly finger'..bits at a time..

Same for you Shar...you undertook the couch only hours after you painted..know how it goes though, you so want to have a finished project...this place was more than a dump when I bought it, I've come such a long way but when I look at still what needs to be done I'm overwhelmed..so, one weekend at a time right??? How nice of you to put some of Aunt Bett's stories in the album...was fun painting the inside cover to look like scrapbooking paper...more durable..

Laura...I do started with nothing, it does take a tremendous amount of work but look how proud you'll be to see garden YOU've done and not those that were left for you...sounds as though you've a great plan..

Trisha hope today is a rest day for you..

Stacey, feeling any better today...going to be a lovely weekend here..now why couldn't it be forcasted for next weekend..perhaps it will be much of the same...tomorrow off and on I'll try if the weather co-operated to start picking branches of the lawn, been a hard winter for all my trees...

Looking at the time, must get running, bag full of project material for the little prince costume..not going to any lengths with it, after all, it's makeshift because LeeAnn couldn't figure anything out but a prince her fella will be..

When at Michaels last night they had a sterofoam sword and also a flat crown that could be made into any head size...found some stick on diamond type stones for the crown..this morning I got out some black material and wouldn't you know found some gold curtain fringe ..bringing sewing gear to office but while downstairs I saw my glue gun..might be even easier...

Talk later when I get to the office....

Was laughing, think when I get home night time I'll go straight to bed and set the alarm around the midnight mark and gab with you all..lol

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Sorry I can't stay up at night and gab but I take a pill that knocks me out about 10:30. I looked yesterday and some of my daylillies are coming up and got burnt. Must look today and see if any hostas are comeing up. Temps in the 20s at night. My Naked Ladies got frost on their tushes LOL. Well have to go to town today and get meds, dog food, bird food, and kitty litter. Maybe some food for us. Everybody out at the same time wouldn't you know. All have a good day. HUGS BEV

Morning to all! So sorry about Indy. Maybe this will help (passed on to me by a friend):
A Dog's Purpose (from a 6-year old).

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolf hound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what wa s going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.

The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, 'I know why.' Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation.

He said, 'People are born so that they can learn how to live a good Life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?' The Six-year-old continued, 'Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.'

Live simply.

Love generously.

Care deeply.

Speak kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy..

Take naps.

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!

love, julie

Julie, what an absolutely lovely post...any news on Shane? included him in my prayers..

Bev, I don't take sleeping pills and yet it's hard to stay up with those night owls..probably just as hard for them to get up early enough to gab with us..lol...
Isn't it better to get all the shopping and appts done in one day then you've the rest of the week to yourself, well nearly..time for gardening..
Bet it is thrilling to walk around the gardens and see some greenery..did so the other night where the snow had left the front of the house, some greenery, didn't dare disturb all the leaves which cover them, still more snow to come..Powder looks as though she can get into most everything..is she/he an indoor cat only???? How are Scotty and the boys doing....

My brother Bernie is being operated on as we speak..he called me last night! I was at painting and saw there was a message on recorder when I got home..when I listened I could hear music for about 3 minutes and thought I could make out his voice..called early this morning to wish him the best but they had already left..

Each Friday night after work, Bubba would fire up his outdoor grill and cook a venison
steak.. But, all of Bubba's neighbors were Catholic. And since it was Lent, they were
forbidden from eating meat on Friday. The delicious aroma from the grilled venison steaks was causing such a problem for the Catholic faithful that they finally talked to their priest.

The Priest came to visit Bubba, and suggested that he become a Catholic. After
several classes and much study, Bubba attended Mass.. and as the priest sprinkled
holy water over him, he said, 'You were born a Baptist, and raised a Baptist, but
now you are a Catholic.

Bubba's neighbors were greatly relieved, until Friday night arrived, and the
wonderful aroma of grilled venison filled the neighborhood. The Priest was called
immediately by the neighbors, and, as he rushed into Bubba's yard, clutching a
Rosary and prepared to scold him, he stopped and watched in amazement.

There stood Bubba, clutching a small bottle of holy water which he carefully
sprinkled over the grilling meat and chanted: You wuz born a deer, you wuz
raised a deer, but now you is a catfish

Ocean Springs, MS

Oh, I like Bubba! I live in the DEEP South where Catholics and Baptist live side-by-side! I'd love to post this on our school email, but I think it might offend some of our teachers of either faith!
I cooked some blueberry friendship bread Tuesday, and brought it to school Wednesday morning. I always bring some to one of our younger teachers (he graduated with my oldest daughter), and he immediately began eating it. Later in the day, he remembered that he had given up sweets for Lent. I tried to make him think that it was bread, but his conscience wouldn't accept the idea. LOL I'm so bad; almost like Eve tempting Adam with the apple.

ALZHEIMER'S' EYE TEST

Count every ' F ' in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...

(SEE BELOW)

HOW MANY ?
WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- no joke.
READ IT AGAIN !
Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down.

The reasoning behind is further down.
The brain cannot process 'OF'.

Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 'F's' on the first go is a genius.
Three is normal, four is quite rare.

I can't remember if I posted this..Hope not

I lost y'all again! Stacey, sorry you've been sick. I found out yesterday I have staph. On my back. Dr. gave me STRONG antibiotics. UGH! I hate to take them, but I will! They make me sleep. That's never happened before! Maybe that's why I've been feeling punky!
My daughter Lisa came Sun. night and stayed till Wed. night. We had so much fun, just being together! Her jaw is still really sore where they cut the tooth out. She's steadily losing weight since they changed her diabetus meds. Which is good, she's really big! She's feeling better since the tooth is gone. I'm sooo glad!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Another 1/2 hr and I'm homeward bound, going to stop in and see my brother on the way home...make sure he's ok..

glad you are feeling better Stacey, you could be right, might have had something off in your eating..but it wouldn't have lasted that long would it?

This weekend will be gorgeous Stacey..hmmmm...let's home next is same..I'm really getting anxious..will I have to clean ALL the corners before you come or just the worse..lol

Favorite colors...drats I don't know..no particular color..I'm a very easy person to please...don't you be doing anything silly..honest, I've more than enough of everything...

Audrey, how nice for you to have spent time with your daughter..ever finish those quillows? did one go home with her?

Julie, am going to call you 'Eve' tempting them with sweets...bet he enjoyed every mouthful...

Bubba jokes are 'fun'...oh my goodness...remember 'Bubba' on the heat of the night...only star I think I had a crush on..he was to 'die' for...still is...what a HUNK....

Vicki, you've got me laughing...

Kept quiet all morning..imagine that..took more photo copy paper, Suzanne printed off a photo of her grandaughter..remember now, I've never done portraints, played the other day doing Noah and today doing Ariana..learning from both..didn't get the mouth correct..but that's ok..each time I play I learn...lol

Only time I took on a craft that kept me quiet was PaperTole and now sketching...

Hi Gillian..sure hope your family arrived safely...and that you have a wonderful time together.
Say hi to your Dad...

Judy..so glad you are seeing robins.. Can't wait for the first sign of nest building in the Mulberry tree that is close to my front window. They build one there every year.

Sharon..I have never seen a bluebird here..you are lucky ..they are beautiful.

Hi to all

We have robins now.....some I don't think ever leave.

Sharran, I love clay of any kind....I just don't have a kiln and the local studio charges so much to fire things. My MIL has a kiln but not for hi-fire.....and i love Horse Hair Raku! But Polymer is still one of my favorites....it isn't messy, and I do my projects in front of the TV as that is where Bill spends his evening, and I can even take projects with me....like tomorrow when I have to go to Seattle with Bill and spend a boring afternoon babysitting the Club Booth at the bike show they are having up there....
