Just came from prayers forum.

Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Also..prayers for Shane and his family and friends.

Betty, was wondering...have you heard from Jesse at all?
If you are lurking, I am thinking about you, hope you are doing well.

Oh my gosh Gillian, it is amazing that last blast, yikes with a vengence.
I hope your family makes it there safely.

Glenview, IL

Ohhh, Stacey, I hope you feel better.
yep get yourself back into bed and sleep.
Drink lots of ? WATER! add some lemmon.

OMG...Betty, I am loosing it myself, think I am alone way to much, starting to crack myself up
over stupids stuff...lolol.
hohum back to laundry...Sock brigade today.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, don't believe Jesse has access to internet service..limited telephone use..she lives too far from Library so can't use their services as well...

Stacey, don't tell me you are coming down with a virus...maybe it's just everything coming to a head after all the difficulties you endured at work..that happens...

Tubby when do you get your bone meds again??? I would imagine you have to really keep secluded during germ season..wouldn't do well to catch anything..are you normally quite healthy? What is your wife up to today? hope she's keeping you in-line..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy that's a chore in itself isn't it..always socks go missing, never to be found, or if they are, they are found just after you've thrown the last one away...don't tell me you are bored already..say it isn't so..lol...I can always give you ideas...

Sitting here looking at the cuttest simple pond container..a one day project honest..ok won't show you..might do one myself come spring though..you'll be sorry you didn't want to do one everyone..lol...

We have a rock radio station, so cute, a few minutes ago in comes 2 young ladies with a square backpack which has a hose..go from business to business giving them free coffee..came at right time..

At lunch I went in search of the Real Canadian Wholesale Club..grocery store .. and was I pleasantly surprised..manage to get a large pkg of club meat for 2.82 and a presealed deli roast beef, ends of rolls about 6 in pkgs for 2.99 then bacon .99 and of course a box of spring bulbs..lol for 1.99..total bill was $9.05

Will go tomorrow after work to pick up groceries, didn't want to purchase them today because i won't be going home till around 11pm and they'd most likely freeze...did have a 4L glass jar of pickles for $8.99..have to find conversion and see if that's a gallon, am sure from the size it's just better than..I will purchase pickle jar and a beet jar and that will do me and Carol for the squirrel feeders..

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

I get bone med's once month..Next is 2nd of April (I think) I'm a hugger & kisser to family.Not as much now.
Just a peck on the cheek..Little kids seem to be the ones I have had my biggest problem with catching a BUG..But how do you say no to those little lips puckered up for a good bye kiss..LOL I tell DW I'm building up my immune system with little germs..LOL
If they are sick the girls don't visit ..Darn Crud has quite few down..Crossing Fingers

Shirley is workong..So she had to put the WHIP up..LOL

I can't do the pond scene..4 four legged animals would be in it all the time..I do have an old fiber glass cable TV dish set up as a pool for them..Of course they think they can go for a swim then come in house.NO NO..LOL When DWs DB comes to visit he has Scamps brother (Golden retriever) And a Yellow Lab..Seem like they always want to go for a dip just before they are ready to leave..LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

I guess anyone who knows Tubby the difficulties you've had of late make sure they don't go near you till it's cleared...

No water in this cute pond..just a sec..see if my labtec can take clear photo for you..I'll have to be on the lookout now for large dishes...

Ocean Springs, MS

Wow, Betty, I never imagined having to worry about food freezing. The temps here are in the 70's, so I have to worry about them spoiling. I always bring an insulated lunchbag to school with me that has an ice pack in it. Yesterday, I had to get cheese, and into the lunch bag until I went home!
The 4L jar is a little more than a gallon, but it should do just fine! I found a link for an indoor window planter, so I guess I'll have to just adjust the measurements for the size I want.

Hope those feeling under the weather feel better soon! and sending prayers for family and those in need.
love, julie

Julie, pressed the arrow that says previous..nice planter..great instructions for the project..is the reason for fibreglassing them so as they last forever?

have you ever bought a book that has 200 pages of projects and instructions and you want to do everyone of them..well that's this The Family Handyman one-day backyard projects..118 easy projects..a couple great ones for children as well...just love the book..can tell by how ruffled every page it...

Says project in a day..so Tubby figure you can get supplies today, make tomorrow and post photo's of smilling wife on Saturday..lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Trisha, were you able to rest today? Might be a worthwhile book to purchase...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Been with mom out to Mother Josephs (a care facility) to visit a friend from Church who has meningitis... Luckily not the contagious one. Hopefully she will be home early next week. Then went grocery shopping.....waiting for Bill to get here for lunch and gone so I get started on some cleaning projects....don't want to get started and have stop part way through...have a couple of outside things I would like to get out of the way before the rain returns....but its cold....:(

Victoria Harbour, ON

Best Trisha to leave the outdoor things till a warmer day..just went and put my project paints/case out in the car,but 5 minutes left of my workday..have to spend 1 1/2 hrs. looking around until class time..I'll go to Curry's art studio and Michaels..that should keep me busy..also LeeAnn niece needs easy costume for a prince for her little boy who is 3 and is attending a birthday party..3 year old girl wants a 'princess party' lol but it's mostly boys..so will see what I can put together for her ...when, don't know..she needs it tomorrow...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Trisha, you don't hear muchof menengitis anymore do you? Didn't know there were different strains of it...hope she's on the mend...of I go..might see some of you on the 'late night owl shift'

Enjoy your day everyone...

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Have a good class!

From what I have seen in the past I am sure you will come up with a teriffic costume for the little Prince!

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Hello, I should be back on simi-regularly now. We're still unpacking, but at least we're getting to the point we can live in the house instead of "camping" there. Mom shared some of what I missed, but I just jumped to here.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Hi zhinu Don't believe everything ya hear..LOL

Tubby

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

She shared a bunch of your jokes.

Here's my new yard http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/962115/

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To ALL;

Laura & Trisha - can't wait to see your new backyard...but my old computer just won't let me click and bring up pop ups anymore...I'll be able to view possibly tomorrow. Wondering if it's a "blank slate" or something you'll need or want to change...

Seed - Love the idea of a "Robin Tradition".
Sharran - News says you're getting snow!
Julie - I'm new to B/W/Learned Blog....but I am near you. (Baton Rouge, LA) went to USM Way back when (class of '86). Love all the teachers on this blog...so helpful...I'm from a teaching family...always a special place in my heart...

Betty - We saw one bluebird last year and DH was SO excited...I'll have to copy paste your info. He bought a bb house and seems that the instructions are very particular (direction they face and everything)

Ves - What year mustang? I love mustangs! But I inherited a Model A...wish I could get DH to fix it up...but they work him too hard at his job...

Crissy - Thank you for the American Idol Update! What did you think about the show?

Liz - I knew it was you with the Acura....dont' know why I got confused. I am glad to see folks buying stuff...especially vehicles in this economy...

Well I guess the Night Shift is beginning to drift in...

G/B/ Learned.....
Good - son won his second tennis match
Bad - we did put Indy down. 15 yr old greyhound. Thank you Betty, Liz, Terry, Trisha, everyone who sent their well wishes.
It was a tough day...and as "Forrest Gump" says...."and that's all I want to say about that".... (But before I say that......)

Learned - Stopped at school to notify kids of the above and surprised that all 3 wanted to be checked out and come along to be with Indy as he passed on.
I guess I just didn't appreciate or understand how much their lives were influenced by Indy.... but it truly made the ordeal comforting to me and possibly the reason I am with you all tonight and able to cope.

Hugs to All

Mary

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Oh Mary, I am so sorry. That is such a hard decision to make, and since Indy was your mother's, so much harder to do.

But that the kids wanted to be with you was special. And Indy knew it, too.

Things to do tonight so I won't be on the night shift, but will talk with you tomorrow.

And yes, there is a lot to finding a perfect spot for the bluebirds. Mine were back again today, still checking out their house. They just haven't started building yet.

No snow for me, but seems like it might be all around me, Mary. We are surrounded by lakes and rivers though, and sometimes the warmth/moisture from them protects us from snow this time of year.

Y'all have a good evening.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

4004, blank slate in that all but a couple Rosemary plants, some ferns, some holly sprouts a couple things out front and I suppose the “lawn” must go.

It’s always hard to lose/put down pets; especially after them being part of your family for so long.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got in..snowing heavy when I left my class but about 1/2 way home started to settle in..that's why I hate registering for a class that's 2 months in the future, you never know what kind of weather there will be...

Laura..you'll have the yard looking as cute as a button, between you and Trisha omg imagine what fun you'll have...

Mary, sorry to hear about Indy..how difficult that must be for you..know you are worried about the family but you must be taking it hard as well...prayers coming your way..

Glad Shar you ar enot getting the storm..

Ann Mari sure hope you are not out there pouring cement..

Debbie, you are in my thoughts and prayers tonight as are you and your student Julie..

All others, always ask the Lord to bless you all before I fall asleep each night..

Laura (Wonder) do hope you are feeling a little better today as well...

Well, It's 11pm, past my bedtime, enjoyed my class..starting to look like glass...starting daisies now..

Hey Sharran & Laura;

Yes - Sharran as always - you are SO right! - From the look in Indy's eyes when they first brought him in, and then after we all took a turn talking to him...he knew we were there...and knew were going to be with him at his time to pass.

That is sweet that you remembered that Indy was my last link to Mom. Mom was present today, though, DS said he felt it as well.

Glad you didn't have snow....I'm sure at times you're glad to see it...but if you're like me...I'm loving all the signs of Spring right now....When do you start planting?

Hey Laura - Then a "blank slate" would be a good thing, correct? If you all enjoy gardening....so many plans to be made! Are you excited about that ? I love our Rosemary...it's only about 2 foot tall but planted just a few years ago....we do cook with it from time to time but I think we could be doing more than we do.

That's great that you & Sage can just walk to the grocery...that's a good experience for her!

Back in a Bit.... (Bedtime tonight is 11pm). :)

Mary

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

404, that I can do what I want with the yard is a great thing, but it'll take a lot of work to get it anywhere from this point; it should be good for me though.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Mary so sorry It's hard no matter what..Thankfully you didn't have to be there alone..
Puppy Heaven!!!!!

Learned..It takes a long time to plant 82 tomatoes..I did finally learn a trick..Pick the seeds up with a damp tooth pick..Much easier than ten thumbs ..LOL

Good..My cousin found me some wheat straw bales..I knew he could..

Bad..My back is mad at me.. Should have had a higher table..

Trisha..Laura needs help..Something about raking some leaves..LOL

Baton Rouge, LA

Laura - Do you have any plans already in mind?

Baton Rouge, LA

Terry;
We cheated...we planted 4 Tomato transplants...have room for 2 more...

Good idea about the Toothpick.

If you were near - I could recommend a good chiropractor......... :)

Indy is prancing about in a field in heaven enjoying sunshine and an endless field with no fences...and he is with my Mom. (tear)

Hugs,
Mary

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

My ideal is to plant with native and useful plants mixed. My idea is to put up some cinder blocks to create a wall between my yard and the next door neighbors. Put a herb garden by the back door. Put down stepping stones through the side and back yard and plant the rest. I'm putting the bulbs I pulled in the flower box, not sure what else I'm doing in the front, though I'm thinking of putting in some more beds.

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Mary your Mom and my Dad will take care of Indy

Chiropractor wouldn't help..Cancer damage

I was nearly done when i remembered about the toothpick..DUH

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello Laura & Terry;

Laura - I am a beginner gardener...but I started out with an herb garden and loved it tremendously....especially the Sweet Basil and Greek Oregano...I thought I killed my parsley...but it's HUGE right now....

what will you plant?

Terry - So sorry to hear that...didn't realize "c" could affect your back problems. If it makes you feel better - I would have NEVER thought of the toothpick solution. Bless you for planting for so many individuals....

Think It's gonna rain here all weekend....we need it.

Go figure - I always hated rain until last year when I took up gardening. Now I'm glad to have it!

Hugs,
Mary

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Mary, ((((((Hugs and Tears)))))))))

Baton Rouge, LA

Thank you Trisha;

Going to bed now.... Thank you ALL. MIL just sent me a really wonderful email that brought me to tears....

Indy had a hard life but I'm hoping a good life. He was with 6 other dogs when mom was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. They all went through Hurricane Ivan alone together. I tried to place them all in homes but not so successful..

Indy ended up with us. He was always so sweet.

Prob need to cry a bit before bed.

Hugs,
Mary

Night Mary.....Just know I am having a good cry with you.

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Well I brought over several types of Sage (My step-daughters name is Sage so I have a "Sage" garden. I'm not sure if the Pinapple, Anise or Melon Sage will come back, they're sticks now) Catnip, Thyme, Marjoram and Rosemary (these will like stay in it's pot), Strawberry, Catnip, Wild blackberry and Raspberry (will likely stay in pot; they take over too easily) Tulip, Iris, Crocus, Globe Thistle... I think I'm missing a couple, but that's most of them. I'd like to replace my Basil, Dill, Parsley, Chives, Garlic, Onions, and Echinacea. I have a bunch of seeds I need to go through. I want to try growing some Heirloom Tomatoes this year, maybe do up a hanging planter with some other vegetables. Other than that I'll need to wait and see what I end up with.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Laura, grandma has an extra upside down tomato planter if you want it, I don't have room for two of them....

(Laura) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

I was thinking about that. You can have some of the tomato seeds if you want them.
