Haven't seen robins here Judy, lots of the 'ass-ups' though..been feeding them, hear a lot of chirping, more like caw-ing so must be blackbirds..

Busy on internet getting vacation planned and hotel rooms booked..decisions/decisions..

Then Melanie called, can't find the certificates for Canada's Wonderland season pass I gave them all for Christmas..should have kept them myself..now not sure what to do..I didn't keep confirmation #'s..drats, at least I should have photo copied them but who would have thought they'd lose them..let's hope they can still have access to the park..

Yes, they do Judy. And they raise as many as 3 or 4 different hatches through the summer months. They learn to fly from the holly tree that was frozen to the trellis when it iced. That was another reason I was worried about the holly...the bluebirds. Being of the prickly sort, it protects them from other critters while they are learning to fly. Sometimes my deck is covered with bluebirds.

Usually they don't like nesting close to a house, but with the opening turned toward the east and the holly, they don't mind when I watch. They really can't see me. When we put it up, we put it there so that we could see it through the window, and low enough so that I could reach it to clean it out between hatches. Didn't think it would work, but it did. They haven't missed a year, and only once did I find blue feathers on the ground, but not sure what happened. They do keep coming back.

Morning all! I never did log onto the puter yesterday! ugh! ovwerslept, then spent the day with mom, so just now catching up!

Liz, you will LOVE the GPS! I have it in the Durango and OMG! what a life saver! when I was at moms last year, had to drive some wierd back roads from sis to moms house...I used to always get lost...but the GPS told me 'where to go' all week! teehee! even told me how to get to walmart and HD which was a big help cause seemed like we were going there at least once a day! Dont think I ever wanna drive in a car without it again! lol!

Betty your gardens always look so inviting and beautiful!! cant wait to see what they look like this season.

Crissy, I agree..thankfully we dont get bad storms here, but took the kids on trips your way, and AZ/UT etc...and OMG! those storms are really scary when your lying in a tent out in the middle of nowhere! lolol! the lightening storms in UT were absolutely beautiful tho! lit up the entire sky. The kids dont want to see fireworks anymore, like lightening storms better! lolol!

Okay, its a beautiful day here in CA...supposed to be sunny all week, so I am headed outdoors to make more cobblestones for my patio/walkway! YIPPEE!!! will post photos later tonight...if I can still move! lolol!

Morning (Afternoon to most) everyone!!!

Slept about 90% of yesterday! Feeling almost human today. The sunshine is beautiful, but quite deceiving….it is COLD out today.

Betty, Laura is doing fairly well…last night was Sages first night at the new house, we got her room in order yesterday…I may have to help move boxes a bit today….there is one box we Really Need To Find….we don’t know what Sean did with the box from their master bath at the old house and it has all of Laura’s medication in it…not good when she is without her anti-depressant. May have to loan her one of mine until we find it, or she can get a new prescription…problem is she just got hers refilled.

As for a rest day?? I am hoping to find part of MY house today…..have been spending so much time at Laura’s that I have rather let things go here this week.

I did get three Dust Bunnies made last night!…..probably didn’t need to make any, just go look under any piece of furniture…Ready Made Dust Bunnies!

Crissy, have been keeping you and Dave in our prayers, as well as all who have their jobs in question….it is not an easy time for anyof us….

Judy glad you had a nice visit with your brother…. Oh isn’t it great that our birds are starting to return? While Laura and I were cleaning her patio door the other day we saw a large White Goose fly over…and I do mean Large!! We are not sure if it was a Snow Goose or a Tundra….but it was big. I would love to have seen it up close!

Shar beautiful birds...while Noah did his french homework last night I was going through one of my design books, the one with the live birdhouse feeder Judy and Liz did with me, the squirrel feeder then they had a blue bird house..they said that not so long ago they were all but extinct because they no longer have homes..gave the dimensions and it's really quite a simple project..front opens up for cleaning..specialty hole in the front but what was interesting is they suggested that once the house was put together you should take a rasp and roughen up the hole at the bottom..this allows the little ones to be able to fly in/fly out having a grip on the rasped edges....made me thing..usually when making birdhouses I sand and sand as not to have a roughness when really I should be doing opposite..

Anjl thanks, I work hard at the gardens but then I go visit Bernice across the street, our dear Carol and I shake my head, so much more I want to do..but, each summer it get's prettier..last year the lady who owned the house dropped by..it was a shack..yes it was...when I moved in..no more than 3 or 4 flowers that randomly dropped their seed was on the property so to her she saw what I had accomplished in 4 years..that made me feel good...

GPS is marvellous..Greg has one with several computer chips, uses it for his snowmobiling and also for boating..tried to teach me the boating one so it would be easier when I take the boat but too many much info shows there, lol, then seeing the rocks, sand beds etc. made me more nervous..

AnnMarie, there you go again, feeling just a bit better and you are off to pour cobblestones for the garden...yikes..best you be the boss and let someone else do the work

Trisha, you'd not be able to sleep all day unless you needed it..omg, got to find that box..we were all careful when I moved but still I lost several boxes, never to be found..Does Sage like her room? is everything still in boxes..don't you hate that stage of moving..half the stuff I moved should have gone in the dump..things I'll never use..got rid of lots but have much more to rid myself of..this weekend think I'll undertake cleaning all the kitchen cupboards..

With nothing to do this afternoon I went and got a photo out of my wallet, some photo copy paper and am playing with sketching Noah when he was aout 2..pencil lead isn't moving well because it's on regular paper but it's giving me a bit of knowledge in how to get the darks and lights..

Sage is happy to have a room and a place to get away from it all....she isn't happy about the move.....she will get used to it. This house is only about a third of the size of the old house she will not have so much room to scatter junk from one end to the other as she did at the old house. About time she learned to pick up after herself. We all love the new house.....it is 40-50 years old, has all wood floors and just a lot of warmth and character.....as Laura's MIL said, It has Soul..... The old house was in one of the "Mushroom" housing additions....where they pop up half a small town of almost identical plastic houses overnight, all beige and white......need I say I despise these modern, large, cold cookie cutter mini-hotel type houses? I really do think they are going to be so much happier at the new house......instead of having to call me, Laura and Sage took their bag and walked down to the supermarket to get groceries for dinner last night!!

Love the sketch Betty, it is really great! I have done very little pencil sketching....I have one Charcoal I did in my art class, of Laura when she was little.....not the greatest, but for a first attempt.......may go back one of these days and see if I can correct all the mistakes and problems I can see now that some time has passed...

Trisha best you get back at sketching..great way to relax..now listen to me, went to one class and just did 'eyes' and now I'm giving advice..sorry that I played with it on photocopy paper..no sense finishing it..was just something to keep me occupied.

I'm sure they'll all love the house once the moving is done, and as you say, just being able to have the freedom to walk to the store and not having to depend or ask someone to drive them will make them feel more independent..are there children her age that she can play with..once she makes friends all will be well...

I don't know about the rest of the neighborhood but the people in the other half of the duplex have a boy a year older than Sage.....that should help, and I imagine he will know other kids in the neighborhood.

I am half way through the kitchen.....decided to take a break before I finish...Bill is due home for lunch and will just make a mess, might as well wait and only have to clean it up once!

Smart thinking Trisha..wow, said 'holly h*ll' a couple of times coming home, wind all but lifted the car and that's some doing with me inside..lol..

Trying to decide how energetic I want to be..2 favorites on tonight, 'Lie to me' and 'Bones' might make one if I'm good, but, if I keep active from now till 8pm might have adrenaline going and can stay up...

Betty and Trish your sketchs are wonderful! I think you both did a great job....maybe someday I'll take the time to learn to draw...just is sooo much easier for me to push some paint around on canvas lol! when I took the oil painting class....teacher wanted me to DRAW the objects before I painted them! ugh! never had I drawn first, just grabbed a paintbrush and painted it. now I'm glad she forced me to draw it out ..but manoman did I hate that part! lol! I always painted stuff I saw in my head..never tried to replicate actual scenes before....but now that I learned how to sketch out the scene...well, kinda opened up opportunities to do more paintings! lol! I still havent attempted to paint a person... way too intimidated to try that one yet! lol!

I did get cobblestone poured today only did 5 bags of cement ...so I AM taking it easy! lol! at this rate.... should have the walkway and patio done in about 4 more years! lolol!

oops, DH just got home, maybe I can drag him outside and have him mix the remaining 5 bags! teehee!

Hi All I've been busy starting my tomatoes..Can't decide on how many to start I've 47 different types..Last year I had 24 plants. I have the space so I think I'll plant several more..We can give them away to folks Shirley works with at hospital..A small payback for the good care they gave me..Easy to find those that don't or can't garden..Also low income Ministry, Salvation Army, Home for abuse victims,& most any church..

I had to dig through my seeds to send to a DG member that lost her job..Tough times are all around us.
I had plenty of tomato seed .Few cukes. &.Salsify

Power was out a second time yesterday from 6:00 till 11:oo DARN ice..
Shirley and I had a CANDLE LIGHT dinner..KFC..LOL

We had to talk to each other ..No TV.LOL

Tubby was without electricity last night....if it is still out he may not have any battery left on his computer, I know mine doesn't last all that long.

This guy really wanted a boat....he keeps asking ........and his wife keeps on saying no way!
So one day the guy gets tired of it and just goes out and buys a boat. When he gets home, in order to maintain a semblance of peace in the family he tells the wife that she can name the boat........she thinks for awhile, the make arrangements and has the new name painted on the boat.
The guy can hardly wait....he hurries down to the slip to see the name on the new boat. There it is in Very Large beautiful lettering....

Snowing and blowing has just stopped, let's hope it has till winter 2009/2010..doubt it but I can always hope..

Came home to homemade dog treats for Sailor (ohhh almost ate them myself-looked like regular cookies) and a few buttertarts and cookies for me....Cathy came to let Sailor out today...she's always leaving treats..another earthly angel the Lord sent my way..

Ended up putting an outer border of 2" on floorcloth, did my load of wash..dried and put away and now I'm off to watch my shows..

Terry I'm glad your power came back on! We were without power for 4 days because of a tornado that hit a few miles away. I think that's the time I ended up getting a hotel room because I needed a shower and comfortable bed! Dave got off work and stopped in to visit with me, then went home to sleep cause I had it too hot in the room for him, I was comfortable!

These are going to be for tater's..You make row 3' wide fluffed up to 12" or more.Should be around 20'+ long..Potatoes grow in straw..No digging YAH

Learned: Wow this a hard one. Maybe that sometimes you have to put the hard decisions off a bit until you can see a bit more clearly. And sometimes that will cost you but the price will be worth it.
