I would advise you to keep receipts...for dresses, shoes, insurance, etc...because who knows, someday they might need to see them (or perhaps for other legal reasons, just for verification).

Shar, how wonderful for the group to have cleaned the yard, these things do bother us when undone..now you can relax and 'smell' the roses can't you? no wonder your bones are aching girl, you've been at it for quite some time..they are probably telling you something..did you get the high painting done? with all your painting I had the thoughts of changing basement color..girls in my painting class picked the colors for me, an almost 'salmon' color and it's just NOT me..I'm not brave with colors as you are..if I already didn't have a project, that would be what I'd be doing...

Mary, sorry to hear you are disappointed with step-daughter..she's not treating you very nicely..headache would be appropriate..

Tubby OMG that's an awful lot of projects, likely will take you until fall to accomplish them all..

Ahh time changes tonight doesn't it? maybe I'll get up to stay till 8 now instead of 7..lol

As for the insurance, deductable I believe is $400..so I'll let Roger's friend repair as he owns a 'body repair' shop ..wonder what he could do to repair this old gals body?

Stacey thank goodness Post Office was already closed, can almost guarantee they'd be all over the counter and floor..decided what I will do with them..what a tremendous amount of work..

Speaking of work best get at it, will take photo of how far I've come t break time...

Love the card Carol, where have you been all week? busy/busy..found another gardening store..so much I wanted..we must visit Barrie for the 2 centers when you visit...so many yard art that glows in the dark, not solar, spectacular...

Are you able to get outside and do anything?

So tempted while I wait for paint to dry on the floorcloth I'm doing to go out on back deck, pull the table/chairs away from side wall, make it look pretty, shucks, can't have too many week left for snow can we..wouldn't take plastic enclosure off as yet...if it warms up as it did yesterday, I'll have my lunch outside..

Brushes are drying so best go tape more diamonds, block in color..with any luck I'll be done by mid afternoon, tonight I can start coating and tomorrow night can put it on the floor..

The one that's there now is in excellent condition, I'll put it on the table and give 2 or 3 more coats of finish, roll it up and it will be used on front deck in another month or so..I'm getting soooo anxious for spring..just like a kid..

Was thinking as I looked out front window this morning, remember on such days when you were young, perhaps not all of you, I'm a little older lol, couldn't wait to go out and play hopscotch...

Do kids still play hopscotch???

Anyway Bev, meant to tell you yesterday, I love that photo of Powder!! my goodness he is getting bigg too.
And so were you able to take advantage of the weather yesterday? OMG, was like 68 here!!!

I cleaned outside all day, my hands are shot, lol but I am loving it. I got some tulip leaves. and I am wondering about the Indianchilef Iris!
but maybe they are daff leaves. Geesh, tossed some seed arou the front there so will have to find the packets to be sure I won't pull them as weeds!
Well the only other thing is, I didn't uncover the aroma of earth yet. But then I was only raking out the stone walk! you know getting rid of twigs and leaves and such. Was just so splendid, I hated to come back in.

Betty, Hope your matt comes out nicely. I have some sewing to do today and probably the rest of the week.
Need to finish this projects so i can move on to next.

got my jar now to draw on wood but first, a run into san francisco to go to north beach to pick up some foccicia bread lol

then wait for pest control to do their annual spraying, then watch out busy cutting wood.
only 40 outside cold! got the heater on 80 even dogs cold hidding under covers.
so by this afternoon it should be warmer we will be thawed out, can you imagine and i want snow lol

ironing yuck, just throw it back in dryer lol

Looked again yesterday for gallon jugs, guess they just don't make them anymore..thought I'd run into town late this afternoon, want to go to Fabricland, big sale and I'm a member so get an even bigger discount..while waiting for paint to dry, that's the only thing with this project, do a few squares and have to wait till paint is dry enough to tape the next, anyway I've been on back deck, don't even really need a coat, but guess I should, don't want to come down with a cold again, guess the plastic enclosure is keeping it warm..so up went the changelier, moved the floormat on an angle so that people coming in during the yet to come storms won't damage it, cleaning as I go..looked at the cusions I made and they are sun faded..all I do is get material, cut in large circle, leave about 1/4" turned under to fit elastic, and in no time 1/2 hr. perhaps new tops and just throw away the others..

Guess I got off track Debbie, at same time, I'll drop in to Walmart and look for the jugs..need to make 2 or 3..

I could be working on another project which I have but means dust and cutting, can't have that when I'll soon be giving 10 coats to my floorcloth tomorrow, so best I find something else to occupy my time..had to add off white squares, white is just too white...

Judy, you'll never believe it, had a stand with flowers in back room, forgot to water half the time, cold in there with no heat on but I just might be able to salvage 4 or 5 of the plants, that's new for me..sorry it's raining there..you can enjoy your sewing..

Liz, laughing with you, you are just as bad as I with all those weekend projects..mom Liz rolls all her clothes from the dryer that needs ironing, puts them in the freezer then takes them out and irons and no wrinkles..you look in one of her freezers and it's full of clothing..odd but she swears it works...

Judy it's great that no snow is on the ground, still couldn't spend time here gathering up broken branches..too much snow, but if it rains tonight and tomorrow like they are calling for I just might be able to during the week...love to have backyard fires, gets rid of so much debris...

Greg's got snowmobiling, how and where I don't want to know..lakes come to mind..Melanie is on her way with boys, Noah is playing Creemore hockey team today..Creemore she laughs, Creem..is what the team will do to them, apparently they are best in league, so saying a prayer they'll win..lots of pressure on Noah seeing as he's the goaly...

She saw my quilt hanger and said why didn't you say you wanted one, the one you gave me is up in attic, now we've changed all decor it's too country for me..so, told her I'd pick it up at some point over the weekend...should have mentioned it before I got creative right..

These soaps look good enough to eat..

Vicki doesn't it always happen when you have things planned..know we'll get more snow but just enjoying the days we don't, they are nearing the end..

to take me anywhere today omg the calories lol! so on the way out of san francisco via 6th street not the greatest area lol this place is abandoned and for sale its been there for years actually was a apartment building and this is what they did it was a kind of a landmark it is something to see all of this furniture and such mounted to the building

Nice blue sky...perhaps if I got out of the basement there might be semi-blue sky here..almost 1:30, think I'll have a bath using my pretty soap, do my hair, get dressed and go do a bit of shopping, that way tomorrow I can take it easy..

Just went and looked, no blue sky, going to rain soon I would think..taking me longer to paint my project, just not drying because of dampness..so now have micro heaters on, could paint with shorts it's so hot..only way to get this project done today..

Omg when you (anybody) decides to clean don't you end up with a cyclone..brought all the goodies from out on back porch into kitchen to wash rather than just sit and watch paint dry...better get it done before evening or I'll not sleep thinking about it..that's what happens half the time, know it sounds obsessive, but I just hate leaving a mess...

I bought 2 rolls of painting tape, looks like I'll need another, best I get ready..everytime I say I will, I think I'll do but a few more squares..

Rich dark red, and sage green. I have the red everywhere, creamish on the walls that aren't red, lots of brick with the same red in, so use green for the accents. Also forest greens.

I think fern/greenery will be perfect on your mat.

I am just cleaning and straightening the "room"...it's going to drive me crazy. Did get out to get some photos, now that I can see my plants.

I loved SanFrancisco when I was there. That was years ago, when Union Square was a safe and lovely place. I'd like to think it still is.

Looks as if the storm has destroyed my little mint green Japanese Maple....it has no arms left.

Yup-I used a stencil of sorts I guess you could say and cut them all out-I have a whole thing of them, so if anyone else wants some, just say so:)

Judy-I am planning on doing that-my one problem is my 6 yds of Muslin-may have to cut that to iron it-I don't want it all over the floor as I iron... I am doing laundry right now and after that I will get the material done.

Stayed up til 5am reading, then up at about 11:30-been doing laundry, dishes, errands and now am making some eggo's:)

Shar, does that mean the municipality doesn't pick any of it up? I'd be terrified to burn that much for fear it might get away on me..would imagine also if the wind comes up you just might have a yard full of branches again..now that's a lot of branches..thank the Lord to all who helped...

When Melanie was here earlier we were saying just how dirty everything looks, I also have mega branches on the ground, not like you of course but enough for me to clean..one almost wishes it would snow to hide it..lol..

I purchased sheeting for stencils and bought the burner, when we did the flower floormat I made everyone's stencils, so enjoyed the burnin gof it..must go see where the pkgs of ferns is..although I'm organized sometimes when everyone is here going through pattern boxes they don't get put back into proper box...might be my next 'to do' while watching paint dry..

City picks it up, Betty, but the burn pile is in an empty lot, and the fire chief lives across the street. Some of it is his too, and there won't be danger. Too, there is a burn ban right now because of the wind, and the pile is so heavy with huge branches, doubt if they could blow anywhere. So no worries.

After starting a new diet I altered my drive to work to avoid passing my favorite bakery.

I accidentally drove by the bakery this morning and as I approached, there in the window

were a host of goodies. I felt this was no accident, so I prayed ... "Lord, it ' s up to you, if

you want me to have any of those delicious goodies, create a parking place for me directly

in front of the bakery." And sure enough, on the eighth time around the block, there it was!

Thought why not purchase material to do the 4 cafe chairs on back deck, nothing to them and it will give me a lift..found some lovely colorful material and got my elastic for them..downfall was when I got to the cashier..there was a table with goodies galore..they had the loveliest velvet black box, when you take the lid off it opens up into a sewing kit..was $14.98 on for $3.00 only 4 left, guess who came home with them, then the rag quilt scissors..reg. $19.99 on for $5.00 so bought them as well...hey, don't laugh Christmas is coming...need some cute little gifts..buy them while on sale is my motto..everyone needs a 'stash'

You should have seen the beautiful flannel, to die for and on for $5.00 a meter (39" versus yard at 36")..said no/no to myself...If you purchased $50.00 you got a free bag...hurrah, says "Sewing is my bag!"

Guess because it was raining everyone was in Walmart so didn't take long there to pick up a few things..Debbie will go back re the plastic gallon containers early one morning to miss the crowd and I can look around..bought me a tropical plant about 5 to 6' tall..see how long before I can kill it...

Noah's team did not win...saw Kyle and Greg while travelling through town, guess that's the end of snowmobiling for now..knowing Greg, he'll be here looking to see what I might need done on the boat..lol..he's always one season ahead of himself...


that was my afternoon..now back to painted..I'm behind..has to be done by tonight so it can cure and I can give the 10 coats tomorrow at my leisure...

I'm trying my best to stay up for the night owls, any idea when they come out????

It isn't very late for Mary or me, and certainly not for Trisha, so usually we show up around 9 or 10-ish my time. Right now it's only 7.

Hi all, just checking in real quick.

DS is here for his first overnight visit. He loved the new patio :oD we spent the day outside in the yard, didnt get anymore walkways made, but did ALOT of clean-up and weed pulling. hoping that I'll be able to start on the walkways tomorrow. I'll have DGS here tomorrow afternoon and once he gets here, well...I gotta watch him! lol! now that he's walking he's into everything!

So far visit with DS is going wonderful...hoping he is home for good soon, Dr is waiting to hear report from me next week :o)

well, off to shower and spend time with DH & DS....BBL

oh, almost forgot! DH spent the day putting up my new arbor! yippee!!

Sharran is right - I did go out tonight....

We had about 10 kids (teens) in the backyard....they are just now packing up and going home...
