Never a sit down just for nothing moment for Trisha :D
Slow down.. take a breather Sis!!!
۞ Sweet Interruptions ۞110
laura and I decided as soon as the walk through is done Tuesday we are taking one day a sitting and doing absolutely nothing!
Trisha, I'm not holding my breath on that!!! Someone will be needing you on Tuesday..
If not for a day.. maybe a couple of hours of doing nothing will be just the rest you both need.
Maybe you're made of stronger stock than me, Trisha. But don't forget to listen to your body...
I know my limits.. after being hospitalized from exhaustion.
Cody, your house must be spic and span right now!
Shall bid you all sweet ladies good night.
See you in the a.m.
Have a good night Jaye, sleep well.

Morning All,
Was a beautiful day out yesterday. Rick and I worked outside from 8:30 am to about 3:30. I was pooped, but if felt so good. Today we are going to work outside some more. I just might get all of my seeds to sowing. Have been find odds and ends bulb around my potting area. No clue as to what they are, just have to wait and see.
Of course after dinner and resting we had to hit the hot tub to ease some aching muscles. Rick fell asleep in his recliner about 8:15 and it still in bed. Worked his little hinny yesterday, LOL.
Morning everyone. Jaye, thanks for the great breakfast! Sometimes it takes us bit to get moving but once we do, it feels good, then we can't stop.
Bj, sorry to hear you got your yard tore up, but it will grow back. Who knows, maybe it happened for a reason, and maybe that will be a new garden area for you??? LOL
Off to watch the hummers with my coffee.
Later
LK
What??? It's still dark here and it's 6:30.
Morning, wow this time change has me all messed up.
Cleaned out moms garage yesterday wow was that thing filthy. Going to paint some fachia we had to replace today. Get that done early enough and back home to get some bulbs in the ground, Hoping to get some rain tomorrow so I can sew.
Coffee is on!! Wakey! Wakey! Has the time change gotcha all cofused?????? Well it's 7:22, I'm heading to the hot tub to get loosened up for another work day outside. LOL, poor Ricky I must have worked him too hard yesterday he's still in bed.
TTYL ^_^
Morning Ladies, Happy Sunday!
Looks like my Mom will be coming home on Tuesday from TCU. At least that's what they're shooting for. She is walking the halls with Dad and she was proud to say she got up to go to the bathroom all by herself 3 times!
Looks like it could rain here any time. If it stays warm, I just may go sit on the porch and enjoy it.
I loved sitting on the swing yesterday and after a while the birds even came back to the feeders with me sitting about 6 feet away. That was fun.
I saw some things poking through, but not nearly enough to suit me. I did quite a bit of leaf cleanup and cutting back, but I didn't get finished. I have hellebore buds. YAY!
Not sure if any of you know Badseed. She's one of the original members of DG. She has 6 daughters and early this morning she gave birth to her first son. Noland James 8' 13". Oh my. Will he ever be spoiled!!!!
Do any of you have any "rock ferns"? I saw them at the home show the other day and fell in love with them. They guy says they're hardy here, but I have never seen them on sale here. I want some...BAD!
Hope you all have a great day!
WOW 6 girls!!!! Boy you can bet that little guy will be spoiled, lol. Hope to see a pix of the little guy.
Sun is shining outside... birds are singing....footsteps light!!! Is it spring?? ^_^
Almost.. anyway..
Yep 'spring' forward today, and it did kinda mess my internal body clock too.
Morning LK, Cindy, Tina and Cookie!!
PTL for the good news Cookie. I'm sure you'd be spoiling your mum and cooking whatever she wants!
Cookie, my mum had 4 girls before she got her boy!! Wow.. Badseed tried 7 times!!
Sistahs, those that haven't wrote on these pages for a long time.. please take time to let us know how you're doing. Silence is never golden when you are missing!
Gonna head out the door, get more bird food at Lowe's.. a few bags of premium soil.. maybe I'll cave in to some more camellias and that frog!
See me later everyone!
Oh Jaye! LOL! Noland wasn't planned! He was an oops!
Hey everyone..
Feeling icky this moring so this will be quick.. I think I have a bad case of pollen in the lungs after being at my moms yesterday or its the crud.. Not sure which.. My nose is unning, im coughing and hurts to breath.> Came out of nohere.. Making me crazy..

Donna
Oh my goodness, now she has 7 kids! God Bless her for having a son. I bet daddy is pretty happy?
Donna sorry to hear your not feeling well. Sending you hugs long diatnace!
(((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))
Cindy, enjoy that hot tub. Some day we will have one!
Good morning !!!
I'm so sore... all over. I don't think I was built right for physical labor.
I know, I know... it'll all be worth it when it's finished... but sheesh... TODAY I'm hurting.
I've come to the conclusion that I just want to plant it and water it... I don't think I want to build it anymore. After this walkway is finished, I'm not taking on any more big projects... for a while anyway.
Poor baby, Mike is still asleep... he worked so hard yesterday.
Good to hear about you mom, Joyce. Sounds lie life might get back to normal again for you soon.
Kimmy, How's you're mom and dad doing?
Jaye, I just love to go to Lowes and just walk among the blooms in the garden dept. Problem is, when I do that, I start dreaming about what all those blooms would look like in my own yard. So, Don quit taking me to Lowes... he spends too much money when I go with him.
I did find the cutest little tree hangers yesterday at the Dollar Store when I was looking for something else... and I had to get them... I'm so bad.
This one is the turtle... but I also got a frog, bunny, and squirrel... $4 each.
Oh that is CUTE! Love the smile.
Morning Glory!
what a lovely Sunday. i"m playing hookey from church - that's becoming a habit.
can't wait to get back outside. woke up to a loving man, hugging on me and reminding me to take my meds, which means he wants a big breakfast. LOL He is changing all the clocks. one DD is up but (might as well be adopted) girl is still asleep in herbedroom/ myoffice. After breakfast, I've got to get me tax stuffs pulled together, so I'm waiting to get in there. Got the accountant to see tomorrow.
The air is so mellow, slept with windows wide open despite the pollens out there.
Good Morning
Sorry I haven't updated Mom Is good she has been thinking of getting out of the House yesterday to go see my Dad But they Have lock down as all of them have the flu so its running wild at the Nursing Home we have to wear Mask so with that she didn't go there. But she is doing quite well

Flaming KIm
My day started out ok until 45 mins ago. Received news that my daughter's MIL has two spots of cancer, 1 on her lung and 1 on her liver. They are small and it's early so she may be ok. Will know more later today. My daughter has insisted tha my SIL go to the doc for a complete physical as he has not been feeling good, is always tired and has been having headaches. He did have an MRI for the head aches and they found nothing.
Morning or should I say by now afternoon everyone!!
OK-for Delphiniums-I have several-I got them for $1 each (so Jaye I will pick you up some or I have a butt load of seeds you can have) and I just planted them in full sun and will eventually have to stake them, but for the last 2 years that I have had them, I haven't had any problems:) LOVE them!! They are in a corner of one bed next to some misc iris a DGer gave me....I have done NOTHING special-they get watered 2 X a week with everything else and that is it...it took them a bit to take off, but once they did they grew at a rapid pace....
Jaye-why am I a sweet neice-what did I do?? Did you get the envie from me & mom yet?? I too only buy sketchers-I have wide little feet and they are both cute and comfy:)
There was an awful lot of butt talking yesterday-staying regular, farting-you all had me cracking up this am!!LOL
DH is a closet nudist-he would love it if we waled around nekked all the time-but I am afraid we might not get much else done;) Either that or hurt bad parts of ourselves while doing normal everyday things!!LOL
Kimmie-so glad to hear about your mum and dad-and how exciting-a house all of your own!! I went to copy the KFC recipe, but it is missing an ingredient-right B4 the bag of chopped cabbage....LMK please as I LOVE their coleslaw!!!
Joyce-so happy to hear about your mum-I know she must be excited to get home too:)
OK-so I opened a swap- http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/960446/
I am going to wash my material today-throw it all in at once-it should be OK as I don't have any reds or anything like that-then I am wondering if I want to maybe only dry it part way to make it easier for ironing as I am assuming that I don't want to starch it?? And what about fabric softener-can I use it or no??
Mom sent me the pics from the orchid show-so I will have to start attaching 1 to every post I make so you can see the pretties:)
I hate the spring forward day-feel like I am behind ALL DAY!!! I mean my clock said 9 something this am when I got up and it was of course really 10 something-now by the time I have coffee and get caught up on the threads, it is already almost 1!! UGH!!
Joyce-so happy to hear she had a healthy baby boy!! Her and I had several conversations on how to get pregnant as I had asked if I could come rub on her for fertility!!LOL
here is I think one of my fave pics from the show that I took:)
Fairy - NO dryer sheets!!!! I also damp dry my fabric and then iron. I will use sizing but NO starch. Starch will eventually attract crawly things so I never use it. Hope this helps.
Dave's mom moved all 6 kids to a nudest colony somewhere in CA! He walks around naked all the time, doesn't faze him because of it. What's funny is now I'm starting to do the same thing and not care who sees!
I'm 36 years old and just now getting into gardening. Nowadays there's too many other things to do for someone younger than me, gardening seemed so mudane and tiring before.
Oh you guys up in Illinois are getting slammed by severe weather and tornadoes right now, be careful. Looks like the storms are moving very fast. We're supposed to get a "swarm" of tornadoes on Tuesday, I don't know how many a "swarm" is but I'm not liking the sound of it.
Cindy I am so sorry to hear that. I'm glad they caught it early and my thoughts and prayers are going out to you hun.
Well yesterday ended up being a very busy day, but not doing exactly what I wanted to do, but what needed to be done.
I was in here typing to ya'll about what I was going to do and my neighbors across the street got into a fight. They're new there and he's the one who came over and got Dave all worried that he might try to break into our house at night when I'm home and he's at work, well I got nosy and went out on the front porch to listen. She was screaming "I don't give a &^*% about you, just Get OUT NOW! My house is foreclosing and You have to leave!" She must have said that about 10 times and I heard a car door shut, so I ran back into the house. Looked out the front window and it was the Land Lord yelling at the man! OMG! So I texted my next door neighbor (the wife), and went out to weed. Next thing I know my next door neighbor's home and comes over to talk to me. We ended up doing a lot of work together on this Pompous Grass on the property line. It's supposed to be cleaned out every year, but hasn't been done in at least 4 years, here's the picture from last August.
Here's what we did yesterday. Took us about 6 hours and we were just going to rake as much of the thatch out that we could, had no intentions of taking it this far.
Stacey I fix that it was lemon juice sorry. well getting ready to go north to my Dads just waiting for the call to come from my sister Moe she is always Fashionable LATE so it will be about 2
I don't like this time change the days is going so fast1 minute it 9 the next it 11 what have I been doing nothing. When I get to my Dads I will go on his computer it dial up so it will take a while
Dimmer
I guess what happened with the neighbors across the street:
he man and girlfriend were outside talking yesterday when we were out there and I guess they haven't paid rent in 3 months, in other words they've never paid rent since they moved in. The Landlord, a very very nasty woman, went over and the man said he wasn't going to pay rent because he was fixing up the trailer. She told him she needed $900.00 now, which wouldn't get them caught up but it would keep them living there, he told her they don't have $900.00 and can't pay, she would just have to wait. That's when she went off, so I guess they'll be moving. This may be mean, but Yay!
Thanks Kimmie-now to go back up and find it and copy it down:)
Crissy-not mean especially if you feel they aren't safe for you.....
Stacey, I think your fabrics need to be free of all sizing, softner etc. because it will mess with your needle, but let the experts tell you the real reason why. I would just take them out of the washer and press them. I took sewing classes in high school. Always prewash then stretch by taking opposite corners and pull to straighten out the grain.
Kim/Dimmer - keeping your folks in my prayers
Crissy - we are going to hear about more and more foreclosures. I believe more banks are going the opposite way all that bailout money was supposed to take us. I'm seeing lenders foreclose faster and cut losses while the bailout $ is available. When I first got into real estate, I lived in an area where 11% of all homes on the market were foreclosures so I'm less worried.
Honest folks have a hard time believing this - because who likes to move?? - but there are folks that make a habit of not paying rent! If they can manuever around background checks, they squat. If I still had a rental property, I'd advertise "gardeners only" because gardeners think long term
Stacy - all your fabrics are so lovely, the strong colors are yummy. BJ has a great quilt being pieced together with a jewel green leaf pattern background. Can't wait to see it finished. Y'all are giving me the quilt bug. I need to make a a duvet cover, maybe I'll piece one. That's a thought.
Jaye - that man ate bagels and banana before I got going! wish I'd eaten breakfast at your place!
oh well, can y'all tell I'm avoiding going back to tax prepping? At least my office is cleaner in the process.....
oh good - it's time to go to DD's soccer game.
purpbutfly is right. The less of anything in the fabric makes the sewing much easier and safer for your machine. I use a minimum of laundry detergent and if there is a lot of fabric I'll sometimes rinse twice!!
OK-that is what I needed-thakns:)
Giving out names for Welcome Spring swap.... come and get your name
Can you all believe I didn't buy anything today??? I know Lowe's different from region to region, but the store that's closest to home does not have any frogs nor outdoor ornaments.. except for 4 shelves of birdhouses!!!
Didn't buy any camellias neither, got suspicious of the tags, when one with a white bloom has a tag showing red blooms!!!
BJ, I walked through the rows of potted plants, and nothing else caught my attention. The roses were generic.. labeled by color!! Somehow, Lowe's in small towns differ from the ones in the big cities, even though the retail space are the same :(
But tomorrow, I'll be going to another Lowe's at the beach.. may find my frog there.
Sooooooooo.. we did some essential grocery shopping, not for us, but our growing animal kingdom.
The security system has shown that now we're feeding 2 possums, a fox and a stray chi.
Looks like God is taking care of your security issues, Crissy!
Cindy, I'll definitely add your DD's MIL to our prayers.
Donna, hate to hear you're already suffering from exposure to pollen. We have Carolina Jasmine growing wild here and they're terrible for allergies. Stock up on Benadryl sistah!
Kim, I wish you all the best in getting a home!! Hope it has a nice size garden for you.
Bonnie, come on over for grilled steaks and pork chops!! Kel does a mean easy cole slaw, not as good as Kim's but ok... Grated carrots, finely shredded cabbage, and he uses Champagne Dressing over them mixed with some mayo and a tsp. of sugar.
Question answered there niece! I don't use any fabric softener nor a dryer sheet. Less gunk.. easier for the needle to pierce the fabric.
Wow.. Cindy, that's pretty drastic!! I was taught to look for straight grains 30 years ago, to remove a single thread, from the crosswise grain, and there you'll be able to lay your templates along the straight grains. BUT buying good fabric nowadays assure you that your fabric will be 'on the grain', ready for cutting. Thank God, if not I'll damage my eyes more!
Barb, what say you?
And yes, Stacey thank you again.. I plum forgot to thank you and Janice for the beautiful coffee themed fabrics!! :D I love the panels!!! Can't find them around here. Believe me, I'm keeping my eyes open on fairy prints!!
Maid M.. come out and say hello!!
Hello
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
