Best/Worse &What did I learnt today/Chat with Friends #89

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm leaving work right now, I'll see if I can find one of the pictures of them when I get home, if Dave doesn't keep me busy lol! They're called "Flying Saucer"

Baton Rouge, LA

Betty - Sharran & I must be the "Night Posters". If she's like me she likes to sip a glass of wine at night and get on the computer to relax before bed. (Maybe I'll call us the "Bed Posters") :)

Most of you ladies I'll call the "Breakfast Club". .... :) You post in the morning.

Tubby just posts all the time!

:)

I get up at 6a, at work by 8a, then slammed till at least noon....so you'll probably never hear from me in the morning.... I wish I could! :)

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Mary we are lucky, in the meeting with DSHS they determined that she can only have supervised visits with court appointed supervisor (mom pays 15 and my SIL pays 15 for a 2 hour visit) . The brother was supervisor before he moved to Eastern Washington....we could all agree that Leigh was suitable......but Holly would not agree to me being supervisor, and we would not agree to her mother being supervisor.....at least on our side we are very pleased to have the unbiased paid supervision. They get to visit and we don't have Holly telling her things.......she told Sage when was four that daddy was going to get a gun and shoot them, and that they would go somewhere with Holly's mother where no one could find them...she was usually high or drunk when she came up with these gems....that is when Laura and Sean filed for, and were awarded, permanent sole custody of Sage. It also helps that she still refuses to have random drug/alcohol tests.....which is all she needs to have unsupervised visits. In one of their meetings she said she didn't think it was fair that she had to have tests and Sean did'nt....he pushed his chair back and said no problem lets do it right now......she refused.

You're right, time for happier subjects....I was just over to the new house and they are making a lot of progress with the move. The next load today was going to be her pots, plants and outside garden stuff....all the feeders, planters and fun stuff! She is looking forward to nice weather and working on the yard....it is ablank canvas at this point !

Baton Rouge, LA

Trisha - Sounds like a similar situation. It's nice to know I'm not alone in dealing with something like this! It's so much easier now that they are 15,16, but we still have rough moments every single time Crazy Mom is involved. And it breaks my heart to see 16 yr old...gets stomach ache everytime she is going to see her....even now.

I forgot to include you as a member of the "Night Poster Club". :)

So far includes: Trisha, Sharran & Mary.

(Smiling!)

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

me, me , me!! lol! I am usually only on at night too! lol!

and I can SOOOO relate to both of you (mary and trish) we have similar situation with my 15 yo DSD and I soooo wish that her mom had supervised visits only! problem is...if we asked for supervised visits now, DSD would see it as an attack on her mom, and then she gets very protective of her mom :o( even tho mom is really ill (mentally). Mom has been hospitalized many times for attempted suicide, even on weekends when DSD was there visiting her :o( and on several occasions has called all 4 of the kids and told them she was dying, only to get them to feel sorry for her and visit her again :o( really sad for DSD she keeps getting pulled into this emotional whirlwind rollercoaster ride every time she is around mom :o(

okay! back to happy, soon-to-be springtime thoughts! lol!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Thanks Mary....Laura says she will probably join us once she gets this move over with....:)

Baton Rouge, LA

Sorry Anjl! Didn't mean to forget you! Probably forgotten scores of others :)

It is nice to know the next tussle we have with CM (Crazy Mom) I can go on here and have other folks that know the situation. It can be stressful without someone to vent to. Can't vent to DH anymore - High Blood Pressure. :)

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Mary those are my hours! I'm slammed all day though, but somehow sneak a little of DG in sometimes. Oops!

My heart aches for those kids, but so happy they are with you. They will soon learn what real love can do, and will be able to sort out their feelings.

Yep...I am a nigh owl, for sure....so it's nice to know there are others out there too. I wasn't so much when I taught, but now that I am in this house alone, with no set schedule...well, this is how I unwind. I am not much of a television fan, but I am a DG fan.

So Yayyyy for the Night Posters!! Maybe we should start a different thread and not take over Betty's...we could call it DG's Night Owls....then Betty and everybody could visit whenever they want...

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Great little flowers, what are they?? Can't put a name to them....usually I can. Hmmmm.

Choosing A Wife

A man wanted to get married. He was having trouble choosing among three likely candidates. He gives each woman a present of $5,000 and watches to see what they do with the money.

The first does a total make over. She goes to a fancy beauty salon gets her hair done, new make up and buys several new outfits and dresses up very nicely for the man. She tells him that she has done this to be more a attractive for him because she loves him so much.

The man was impressed.

The second goes shopping to buy the man gifts. She gets him a new set of golf clubs, some new gizmos for his computer, and some expensive clothes. As she presents these gifts, she tells him that she has spent all the money on him because she loves him so much.

Again, the man is impressed.

The third invests the money in the stock market. She earns several times the $5,000. She gives him back his $5,000 and reinvests the remainder in a joint account. She tells him that she wants to save for their future because she loves him so much.

Obviously, the man was impressed

The man thought for a long time about what each woman had done with the money he'd given her.

Then, he married the one with the biggest boobs.

Men are like that, you know.

There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research

So funny Stacey, don't fret no you can bring it across but I was wondering if I went across the border and didn't stay for 24 or 48 hrs. and someone gave me something would I be able to bring it across?

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

The tree to the right is in front of mom's garage cant quite see my half of the duplex...

This shot shows our duplex centered between the two trees, the mailboxes are in the way of seeing the house as I was more interested in the Rainbow for this shot.....will get a better one of the house down the road when I get all of the spring clean up done....

Okay Tubby. One point but only because I laughed out loud.
:)

(then since I laughed out loud DS asked what I was laughing at so I had to let him read. He said he'd have picked the one who invested in the stock market. That's a good son, I raised him right! )

Baton Rouge, LA

We won't desert you Betty. We'll just be the "Night Shift" watching over things while the Breakfast Club is asleep.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ohhh, Cathy and her family bought me a lovely plant, called Maltese Cross..says keep moist, do not over water..sure hope I can follow those simple instructions...

Glenview, IL

Trisha!!!

How exciting and glorious is that.
A double rainbow even. Wow.
so very happy you got a picture!

Hi everyone,
I have been one busy, not so busy and irritated mom.
Oh well, thats what happens with kids.

Anyway wanted to pop in and say hello...
Betty, i gave you a ringle jingle and left a messsage!

What a wonderful picture with you and Noah.

Ooooh, well i will have to watch for a very late night thread, sometimes I am up , lol just a lurking.

Phooey, i am coming down with something.

OMGosh, GG....How fun and exciting for you to get snow, so happy for you since you have waited, all winter for some.
You are so cute, and wow...how come I am counting 3 Labs??? They look like they had a ball.

Vicki, HI ...Ty looks like he was enjoying all the snow too... bummer on the cut hours. But it will be good for your winter sowing! Lot and lots of work.
I am so anticipating Spring to view my Indian Chief Iris you sent.!! Oh and the Daisies too...

OH My gosh...tubby, your pup is a beauty too.

Did i tell you all, I asked for one and DH said no! so still pouting oer it....LOL.

LIZ...ROFLOL, The fire man is outragously Done!! hahah, I just knew Kenny would be retired for long...Yep, I'm giggling at you Kenny!!
heheheh.

Well got my calling card all ready and waiting...

Shar, Thank you for the New Garlynn thread...did make a post.

Ok I am off for a few minutes...gotta check dinner...Liz, we are making it together!

So nice to see you all chatting away.
and Stacey bummer your not well. take care.

Calvert City, KY(Zone 7a)

Oh good grief, Betty....We wouldn't desert you, we'd just wake you up in the middle of the night and take you with us. NO.....don't panic again...not going to do that. Actually I am on central standard time and right now it is 7:53....so whatever time it is on your screen at the time of this post will tell you our time difference. I really don't know, but think after next week it's gonna change anyway, so doesn't matter.

So don't worry, we'll stay right here.

But Tubby, I have to say this, I don't read your jokes because I don't like anything that makes derogatory fun of women, nor do I like those that are a bit off humor and tawdry. I had enough of that when I taught high school. So I just don't read them, which is why I don't comment on them. But to each his own, and I am not one to stir things up, so you just do what you gotta do, and we can read them or not... and it doesn't matter. I am glad to see that you like to laugh.
On the other hand, Tubby, I do love all your wood working projects, and am always glad to see them.

And Betty, I hope your birthday was the best!

Mary, Trishia, I'll see you later tonight...and Anjl and anybody else who is a night owl.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty your birthday is the same day that Dr. Seuss is! That's cool!

Terry's jokes don't bother me a bit. I love to man bash a lot so it's ok by me. Men could never keep up with women in the long run so bag if they will, us women know the real story!

I just saw a funny on the local news, and this is NOT current events.
This man decided to put his bride to be's engagement ring in a Wendy's Chocolate Frosty to propose to her, but she didn't notice it and Swallowed It! They ended up in ER and X-Rays showed it in her stomach!

I would be a night owl if I didn't have to get up and go to work everyday, but since they say I'm too young to retire work I will.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Betty, there is an idea, I can just hear Bill when I take the laptop to bed!! But that is a good idea when I wake up in the middle of the night and don't want to get up....hmmmm....

Sharran, Mary, AnnMarie will probably see you later tonight...

Judy and Stacey, don't know where you are catching those bugs, but put them back....

Thumbnail by zhinusmom
Baton Rouge, LA

Okay so "Betty's Night Shift". Sharran, Anjl, Trisha, AnnMarie, me (Mary) and others will make sure the room is ready for Nighttime. We have a big responsibility....so I'll start the list of what all we need to do.

Light the fire, light some scented candles, keep the wine glasses full, milk glasses for those who don't partake, cookies for the Milk drinkers, what am I forgetting?

:)
Mary

Tubby - you're the guy....so you'll have to be security....the watchdog....though you're probably more like the friendly dog who wags his tail and shows the bad guy where we keep the silver....

:) See - I can tease you right back. :)

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

A little music doesn't hurt....I keep Betty's Pandora Radio going on my computer most of the time......some good music there...

Mary, Didn't mean to confuse things...... but AnnMarie is 1Anjl......

Oh, sounds like my watch dog......ferocious bark....but if they could see the wagging tail on the other side of the door....Bill says she would probably hold the flashlight for them as long as they pet they pet her and give her dog biscuits. If they want my silver they are going to have to do a lot of polishing!!! Guess if we used it more instead of keeping it in the drawers or on spoon racks it wouldn't tarnish as fast would it? Luckily I don't have too much of it to worry about!

Thumbnail by zhinusmom
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

MARY - Cheese for the wine!

Baton Rouge, LA

Thanks Crissy - definitely the cheese....Havarti for me please...maybe some muenster! I'll eat cheese before chocolates! But there's an idea...someone get a few chocolates out for the night shift too.....the ones with sweet tooth's. :)

Trisha - Thank You - How could I forget the Music! Some light background music please! That Pandora sounds nice....how do I listen in?

Thanks for letting me know.... Anjl = Ann Marie....what a pretty name...

This is shaping up to be quite the Party !

Night Shift Hugs,
Mary

Whew! Shoveled the driveway with DH and man, that takes a lot out of you! Of course, now the tendon in my wrist is aching!

Tubby, your Golden is beautiful! He looks just like our first girl - Hobbes. She was that pretty red color! Aren't they just the best dogs???

Judy, yes, we currently have 3 Goldens at our house but only 2 of them are ours. We are "fostering" one of Sailor's sisters. Dana, the breeder has 2 of the babies and wants them to not become totally attached to each other becuase she doesn't plan on keep ing both. She just has to decide what she wants to do with the one she keeps - mainly show her (which puts a lot of pressure on the breeding quality) or just breed her. Anyway, we take one of the two girls every two weeks then switch to the other one for the next two weeks. Dana is also expecting a new litter in 2 weeks so I will be taking both girls for a week once the pups arrive. Yes, that's right FOUR dogs!! I love it. DH thinks I've lost my mind! I just tell him where else can you come home and you've got 3 or 4 creatures that are just so excited to see you? It's priceless!

We have Hula right now and we will get Mango on the weekend. They are both so different it's funny! Hula doesn't like to be left alone and is a big lap dog. She's also pretty dominate and doesn't take anything from any of the dogs including Murphy! She always has a "smile" on!

Mango is a counter surfer and I think ADHD! She cannot settle down. She's the moaner and groaner and is quite vocal when she's happy. She is also a wrist grabber and forgets it's not a dog bone and clamps down! I love having them both and Sailor and Murphy love playing with them too!!

Betty, I forgot to mention that I absolutely LOVE the canvas mat you painted with the flowers. Please come down to Richmond and I will supply you with all the supplies so you can make me one! Just absolutely beautiful colors!!!!

Well, school is out again tomorrow. I have an 8am doc appt (yuck!) so DH will work from home in the AM and go in after lunch. I'm not sure if work will be open tomorrow but I'm assuming they will. The road are a sheet of ice and the temp is only getting to 30 tomorrow. I'm sure by the weekend, I'll be ready for spring!

Well, night all! Chat with you tomorrow!!

Jeannine

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Jeannine that is so cool with the dogs! If the roads are icy don't drive if you don't have to, it's just not worth it. Now I'm going to worry about you all driving on a sheet of ice.

Mary thank you for the wonderful chocolate! The wine has made me sleepy so I'm going to have to say good night to the night shift and I'll see you tomorrow afternoon!

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Jeannine be very careful if you have to drive tomorrow.....

Crissy, have a good night....

DH will be home soon so guess I had better get dinner finished up.....

But first look really quick before it disappears....I found the top of my dining table tonight!! Between craft stuff and every thing DH brings in from work I haven't seen this sight for awhile!

Gorgeous Trisha....I haven't seen the top of mine since I started painting..
OMG I love this Pandora thing.....whoooohoooooo...my life will never be the same.

i have DirectV and have all their music channels too...so I rarely watch TV, but always have music playing. Thank you so much.

GG...love the puppy stories, and glad you are happy about the snow! Enjoy your snow time, but be careful driving.

Baton Rouge, LA

Wow Trisha - pour me a cup of tea!

Sharran - going to figure out the Pandora thing right now. :)
