They have the old house until the 7th.....we will see how it goes....
The reason we found out Holly had been with them was Sage said something to Bill and said they weren't suppose to tell......the problem with the grandmother is that she is the type that lets her daughter walk all over her....Holly can be a very nice girl on minute and a vicious little b#&%# the next....she is not a stable person.
Best/Worse &What did I learnt today/Chat with Friends #89
LOL Betty, the worse that can happen is my house looks like crap LOL!
Sad sad news, Paul Harvey passed away. I started a new thread for him.
It's not the acknowledgment so much, it just seems that they're not too bright in their scheduling techniques. They put one guy on a shift by himself with no back-up plan. Then they throw a fit when that one guy gets sick and can't come in because there is no one else to do the job. Moral of story, Always put 2 people together on a shift. He's not supposed to take any days off or have any vacations, sick days, or anything else. Then if they don't take all of their vacation and sick days by years end they get in trouble and lose their time. What since does that make?
Will miss Paul Harvey! I loved to listen to him!
Happy Birthday, Betty and Sharran! I wont try to send you anything, you both HAVE everything, and if you didn't, you'd make it!
Oh...not my birthday....only Betty's tomorrow....and Anjl's next week, I think. I already had a birthday, and don't ever plan to have another one!!!!!
Lovely pic, Bev.
What a sweetheart, Wonder!!! He is beautiful.
Isn't that what you had before?
Audrey thanks for the birthday wishes..when Jeff called me last night he said which birthday would this be..excuse me, if I was 60 last year and it's my birthday once again how old do you think I am...lol.. 1 + 1 = 2..simple math..lol..like Shar, when do we start not to have birthdays? Was sound asleep, toasty as can be, telephone rings its Greg, invited to their home tomorrow night and 'what do I want to eat'..simple..'anything I don't have to cook' lol..
Glad the telephone did ring though, must clean my mess downstairs rather than keep it till morning..not a nice way to start a Monday morning..
Audrey, Bev? What kept you 2 busy this weekend...
OH Laura, can just imagine how happy you are, you know when I go back on threads, seems you started to feel much worse when you had to part with your beloved 'pup' now here you go, you've got Harley to keep you smilling..puppy stage, how will you deal with that? lol..just too cute!
Paul Harvey, yes they had a show this mornig on him..I so loved listening to his story..unique way of telling them..
'and now, for the rest of the story!' he will be missed..
yes i have been very sad and will always miss my baby.
as for puppy stage, as my daughter is living with me she is helping us with him.
i get up every three hours to toilet him but thats ok, im not a good sleeper anyways.
he is so cute.. he is no lucy but then u can never replace them and i will love him anyways.
Guess what?
Hello To All;
Well - we did get a lot done this weekend. Probably plant Veggies next weekend....if weather permits.
19 Days till Spring! Yay!
Sharran, Betty, Tubby, etc....Yes - I think DH is leaning toward the Bamboo right now... digging a planter down in the dirt, and planting a bamboo. It would go well with our other planting....a tropical theme....
Trisha - Holly sounds like the girls Mom.....They are just now realizing how crazy their mom really is. I overheard them talking after they spent 2 days after Christmas with the Mom & maternal G'ma at a hotel here. Friend said..."Your Mom is Crazy".....Youngest glanced at me and said "yes but in a good way".
They just don't want to admit Mom is crazy....but she really is. The older daughter seems to know. The youngest seems in denial.
It's not as bad sending them with her (she is supposed to be "supervised" when she has visitation). But what they don't realize is that they were so young at one time....and it was way more scary to send them with her....and her "boyfriend du jour"....and who knows what she would do with them when I first married DH and they were 7 & 8.
So glad those days are over.
The Mom's Mom is just as crazy just smarter..
Anyway - I think we are leaning towards a bamboo in a planter, dug in the ground.
I can't wait till Spring!
It's March!
Yay!
Hugs to all,
Mary
Baton ROuge, LA / 8B
4004 wish you luck with bamboo It always looks so neat..Adventurist right.Have fun
I know what you mean about crazy people My DBs X is crazy smart The welfare folks give in to her because they are scared she will throw a fit in there office ,.Second hand info but I believe it.
Tubby
Mary we did find it interesting that when Sages grand parents divorced she took Holly and Tom took her brother. I know the grandmother has some issues and Holly is a real nut case. Tom isn't bad we get along and Leigh (Holly's brother) is really a great guy. We all like him a lot but he moved to the other side of the state.....
I love Bamboo.....mine is in the ground and is not a problem at all, it depends on what type you have, the clumping bamboo such as Black Bamboo are not that invasive.
Yayyy for the bamboo, Mary. I think you will like it. And hats off to all of you for the care you are giving those children.
As a teacher of many kids over a long long career...I know what you are doing for them. You will see the good results. I love Sage's name, Trisha.
Thanks Sharran, her name is one of the few good things Holly did. We got Sage when she was four and an absolutely undisciplined little animal......she hated everyone, even my dog didn't like her then, bit her twice....and they are absolute best buddies now.......she is a completely different person now. We love her to death and she loves us too....my DH is her favorite toy. She was taken from her mother and no one was telling her anything.....finally my daughter sat her down and explained why she couldn't see her mom and the whole court thing and it made such a change in her. She is very smart and just needed to know what was going on....Laura refuses to treat her like a little child and it has worked wonders.
that is such a sad thing, but so good that she has you and Laura and your family. Kids are a lot smarter than we give them credit for, and sometimes all it takes is an explanation. A bitter pill for them, though. I had some in classes who just broke my heart.
Sage and Laura went through the you're not my mom thing. One day they were at the shop where my DH works....a guy working on the computers said something to Sage referring to Laura as her mom. When Sage said she isn't my mom the guy asked does she feed you? Does she take care of your clothes? Does she take you to school? Does she read you stories? Then she is your mom....you could see the wheels turn. After that Laura became her "Laura mom" and her birth mother is her "Holly mom", never got anymore of those SHE's not my mom! There are still a lot of issues, and if they get in the position where they have insurance to cover it I still think she would benefit from some counseling, but she is for the most part a very sweet little girl now.
A sweet little girl now....probably thanks to Laura and you, and the role models she has. A lot of progress in a short time.
We've tried hard but most of the credit goes to Laura and her Dad. We keep her one night a week. When she went through the I hate you stage....I would just hug her tight tell she could hate me if she wanted to but I loved her and there was nothing she could do about it! I guess it has worked. The move is at the stage where they have two houses in disarray. She asked if she could come live with me and Bill until they were finished moving cause mom and dad get grouchy trying to pack and move things!! (and she likes all my craft stuff).
Smart girl!! I hate the packing and moving thing too.
The key is that she knows she is loved. Amazing what a difference that makes. One time in class I had a big tough football player and one day he was just really acting really smart with me, and not in a good way. I took him aside and into my office...he got really defensive and started the mouthing thing. I looked at him, and said: Luke, I am so not angry with you, but something is just out of kilter for you today, and I want you to know that it's OK to be out of kilter sometimes, but I'd like to have my old Luke back."
Tears started streaming.....when he could finally talk, he told me that he had just been diagnosed with diabetes, and he was really really afraid of that. He was a junior, and he thought his life as he knew it was going to change drastically. He and I became good buddies, and when he graduated, he gave me a rose, even though I no longer had him in class that year.
Caring makes a big difference in a kid's life.
It does, you only wish there were some way to help them all......
Well it has been a long day and looks like tomorrow will be another one. I will be so glad when this move is over and done with. For now think I will finish my glass of wine and take all my aches and pains to bed for the night.
Hugs.....talk to you tomorrow.
Have a good sleep..no bad dreams.
Nite Trisha....hugs to you too.
happy birthday!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you girls, another day older..lol!
Loved reading about the kids/Mary-Shar-Trisha, just passing by the computer, as you know I made one big disaster zone in my craft room and the girls are coming to paint..got most of it cleaned up but left a little for this morning...
Jeannine, only you could be jumping up and down because of snow...yuk...do hope you get to make a snowman though..
Best I run..
Talk when I get to the office..
Happy Birthday Betty
Have a wonderful day
Sit back & enjoy all the warm wishes
Happy Birthday Betty - sending you Hersheys....

I believe that Newton was on the right track with gravity, but did not take the idea far enough.
I think that gravity actually builds up in a person as they get older.
This accounts for the weight gain, walking slower, harder to get up, and the body parts that start heading soulth.
(as I get older, I look for excuses)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETTY!!!!!!!
Happy Bairthday Dear Betty...
Happy Birthday to you!!
Be back in a bit, got a school meeting(grr)
Hey Betty, and Shar, beautiful decorating you did!!
Betty, your quilted wall looks great!
Yes..great job on the quilt rack and arrangement..
Thank you girls...was fun doing a treasure hunt indoors looking for articles that Shar suggested..lol..
The weatherman says with wind chill factor it's -28, I dressed warm but lordy driving into work with sun shinning it had to be 80 in the car..so sun is getting stronger..time change next weekend isn't it?
Love Malva Carol, have a few plants, must go check you website..was just thinking to myself, Suzanne and Paul are in the city today and I drove in on my own (big girl now..) lol so it's a Garden Gallery day..pick me up something..
Can't believe I got that craft room and woodworking room back into A+ shape for everyone today..
Tubby, I do look at others thinking OMG they've aged so much, meanwhile I'm sure they've the same thoughts..
Kyle called me before I left for work..he's such a dear boy..I said, 'grandma's getting old isn't she Kyle' no response..best not agree..lol
