You are indeed Laura loved by many...didn't stay late, Greg's working on a big project and has to go back to work, boys had homework and grandma we'll she was tired..so funny, Melanie is enrolling both Kyle and Sophie (doggie) for training so that Kyle can make weekly trips to the seniors home so the residents can enjoy petting Sophie and seeing her do her tricks..

Starting with this old senior..lol glad I stopped at home and got into some glad rags...

She just turned 2 last Saturday..misses grandma, usually comes the odd time when family is away so grandma can sit her..been awhile, she was so happy to see me!

Kyle, he's just getting so tall, both love standing beside me, measuring, Kyle is taller and soon Noah will be as well...being taller is the highlight of their day..lol..not hard to be taller than someone who has to stretch to reach 5'..

That little guy looks so much like you, Betty.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ok, go to a birthday supper and you all take out your 'art' treasures...Bev I love the paintings, especially love the 'blue jay' as well as the scenery..black background sure makes the paintings more dimentional..
you should get those paints out again, good therapy it is..
8 years is much too long not to be creating..

Ann Marie, I'm singing 'we're in the money, we're in the money' don't know the rest..good for you regardless how it's spend it's one less bill you'll have to worry about..had to go back a few times and look at that tree...what is it???? almost looks like it's been varnished...very unusual..

Mary, Mary you weeded all day and didn't go to Mardis Gras..shame on you..you drive right? could you have gone yourself..lol..sure hubby and family would have been impressed...

Evening Debbie, how's the MIL and Shannon doing? and you of course..you haven't been ill these past few days have you? hope not...best you get out your craft supplies as well..I'll have to pick a spring project so we can all get at it..lol...

Crissy, your adult sitter lol is a storm brewing..how are you feeling tonight .. any better...

Enjoyed Shar's article on the 'oak tree' today..her stories are the best!

Tubby, know what woodworking shops are all about, can't be creative and clean both at same time, so please share photo's..now what would your DW's name be?

Guess I'll call it a day...Cathy dropped in today, see she did a few chores..girls are all coming to paint tomorrow..they cancelled Monday because I was not well..

Laura, do you have any specific pattern you will do for your friendship quilt?

Not even sure I'll have a bath tonight, think I'll go to bed stinky..just me, who cares, I'll now the odor was offensive if the kitties don't sleep on the bed tonight..lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Linda Kay, still pressure over the eyes, but not bad..thanks Shar..yes he's the most like me, personality much the same..loves to tease, affectionate..and above all a con artist..his brother purchased a coin counter, it's like a mason jar with slots, guess the counter is tripped by a ballbearing..anyway he put his pennies in and asked if I had change to show me how it knows the difference..after quite a few quarters Mel had dragging and also loonies, he was content to have an extra 2 or 3 dollars..guess if he keeps showing everyone how it works and they give him coins he'll have a good bank account...lol

Asked Melanie and Greg what they thought if I took the boys for 4 or 5 days at Easter time, bring them to Washington D.C. show them history..no opposition there but doubted that Lisa would let me take the other 2..very religious and both are alter boys so unlikely, but I'll ask..

Glenview, IL

hheheh, Betty, you are so funny...

Good night then....lol odor and all.
Have some sweet dreams.

hi Shar!! Good to see you, yep..Noah sure does look just like Betty.
(sounds liike some else I know.

Wanted also top say Thank you Stacey, Betty, Annmarie, so good to see you.
About the epson salt...awsom will try.

So we've had some excitement in our neighborhood tonight and as usual, I missed it! So I was up at WalMart with the kids (dang kids!) getting stuff they needed and my DH calls and says we won't be able to get in the neighborhood b/c there has been a fire - an old barn from the 1800's went up in flames. This barn is part of a historic homesite from the Civil War time that I worked with neighbors to preserve vs. being torn down and made into townhouses.

Anyway, it appears some boys my DS's age (and friends of his) might have been back there playing and lighting cans of Axe on fire. Thank God my son was with me and no one was hurt! Also, had this happened 24 hrs ago when we had high winds, the outcome to the surrounding area would have been horrible. As it is, the investigators are still out there and hopefully will be able to get the boys (2 of which are BIG troublemakers!). One of the boys (troublemaker #1) was actually telling my DD today at the bus stop about what they had been doing. I just think it's very sad that a piece of history went up in flame today. There is an old family plot back there with a Civil War soldier buried in it so hopefully, that was not ruined.

So that's my excitement for the night.

Here are my quilting projects I have just finished

This is a quilt that was a BEAR to make because you had to line up all the seams. Not an easy thing to do even if you sew perfectly (which I don't!)

Hello To All;
The quilts are all so pretty! I envy you all with your craft talent!

Gardengirl - what a tragedy to see a piece of history that you worked to hard to preserve damaged by a prank. But as you said...thank goodness no one was hurt...and possibly that will teach these kids a lesson before someone would get hurt...

Betty - I teased DH that I would take them by myself...but he very seriously told me that he wouldn't let me....and he never tells me what to do....I was teasing anyway...I would go down there with other adults...but it's a bit precarious with just little me and being in charge of kids. I am not as familiar with the parade area downtown as I would like to be...and 'stuff' does happen... a man was shot down there Friday near St. Charles....I wouldn't want anything to happen to the kids...

At any rate, I highly impressed DH by my weeding. He was speechless (and rarely is that!) LOL. Remember I am the "Beginner Gardener"...

Supposed to rain this weekend...but by Mid -March we'll plant tomatoes, cucumbers, perhaps a squash, zucchini, and a few other veggies...

Betty - We took the kids to Washington DC back in June 2006...(they were 14,13,12 at the time). We stayed in a Holiday Inn at 550 C Street....and as I recall - it was close to everything. (As close as you can get- it's all so spread out). I wrote reviews at www.tripadvisor.com

Liz - They moved American Idol to tomorrow due to the President's speech tonight.

Laura - That stimulus idea seems to make so much sense!

Well - once again I've put myself in a spot where I can't read back...so ....more later....

Hugs to All - Mary / Baton Rouge, LA / 8B

Anjl - That is precious! I've seen those larger - poodle-type dogs before...what kind of dog is that? It's so cute how they are leaning in towards one another...

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

oh, forgot to comment on that historical building :o( I almost cried reading your post....I'm a BIG US History fan.... absolutely love old buildings...so sad that the building was destoyed...someday those kids will REALLY realize what was lost because of their actions, unfortunately most kids dont realize it until they are grown up :o(

Our history in CA doesnt go back as far as it does in the east. I took DD on a train trip back east about 5 yrs ago... everywhere we stopped, I would oooh and ahhh over the historical buildings and museums... she got really frustrated and told me "no more history lessons mom!" lol ...but then when we got to Boston, she had all sorts of history questions for me LOL! guess who inherited my history bug now?! lol!

The puppy is a Bischon that was rescued from a backyard breeder :o( They actually have 6 Bischons that are all rescues, Riley (the one in the pix) must have some sort of throw back gene tho..he's a monster compared to the other 5 lol!! He's about 3 times bigger than he most bischons.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love the quilts. They are so pretty. Laura, what colors of fabric do you have from everyone! Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Anjl, love the grandson picture, that is so cute!
Here is an article of a shooting at Mardi gra today. Gotta be careful going to places like that. Infant and 6 people were shot, non killed, but so dangerous.

Good night everyone.

Mary, I don't know if you've seen the headlines yet, but apparently there were 6 or 7 people shot at Marti Gras today, I'm glad you didn't get to go. Everything happens for a reason.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All;

Anjl - Sounds like the 2006 Washington DC trip....the kids enjoyed a few things....whined about most....however if you ask them now...it was one of their favorite vacations....they don't realize when they are actually at the museum....how cool it actually is! I have seen the bichon frieses...they are rather small ...but this bichon looks to be a rather large dog....they must come in different sizes! :)

Linda Kay & Crissyr - Wow - I'm out there weeding my garden feeling sorry for myself...and all the time God was looking out for me! :) I had no idea and I am so close to this! I can't click on the links to find out what happened ....my computer is messed up...but I'll go back to your link tomorrow at work and find out. Perhaps we were being looked out for! :)

I know that if I brought the "crew" down there (The 3 teens plus their friends including Line from Norway)..... if something were to happen I would never forgive myself.

Thank you for letting me know! I've been so pre-occupied...with everything else...I had no idea what was going on at Mardi Gras today!

I'll check in tomorrow ....Hugs to all....Mary / Baton Rouge, LA / 8B

Morning all, you've been a gabby bunch while I was sleeping..lol..'tubby' can see the mischief in those eyes..just love the wedding photo's..you've got yourself a beautiful wife 'tubby' and one who can decorate your birdhouses to boot..not many of them around..we'll maybe on this thread...'waving to you Shirley'!!! lovely birdhouse ideas...have you seen the squirrel house project? I'll go look for it, take photo and can give you dimensions if you'd like..want to make me one this spring, need some kind of entertainment in my life, might as well be a watching squirrels...hmm

Jeannine, can just imagine you trying to line up those pieces on the first project you've posted..wow..stunning quilts..watercolor one must have taken you ions..OMG thank goodness you were all out shopping and having your son with you..how tragic to lose a piece of history..let's hope the gravesite has been left intact..imagine what could have been if the winds were up..hope they find these boys...don't want to harp on my area, but similar thing happened in Wasaga Beach..entire waterfront burnt down..2 young men have recently been arrested..doesn't help those merchants though.. how's the pooches...

AnnMarie, that photo is just adorable...will check your site this morning..DIL said not the kind of place she'd ever think of going..hello, this is more for the children, history lesson....still will check with DIL Lisa to see what she thinks..

OMG Linda Kay, never think of the dangers of going into crowds like Mardis Gras..thanks for link, will check it out when I get to work...

See that Mary, Lord was looking after you and yours..had you working in a garden..always think when we do so it pleases Him...

Morning Crissy and Liz, are both of you feeling better this morning...

Laura anxious to see what pattern to do pick for the friendship quilt..

Waving Judy and all others...so enjoyed the photo

Best we keep brushes and tools in hand..sewing machines out while waiting to get into our gardens.....

Talk later

Shucks know it's time to move us over because of the thread post numbers and some having to download, but will leave it for the morning for all to see...

Laughing away at myself..a few days after I was organizing my seeds into that beautiful garden journal I received I came across a package of seeds, stored into the cutest pouch, name of seeds 'Snowman Seeds' so at the time I glanced at the back of the packet and wondered what they would look like in my garden...set them aside..

This morning while cleaning my junk drawer I set everything in groups, throw away, store in it's natural home, things that I felt should be in the drawer stayed, while looking on the counter at these groups I saw the seed packet, thought I'd better put it into journal as not to lose them...so again, trying to do a zillion things before work, pick out a few words on back... "KEEP IN FREEZER" ok lots of seeds you have to keep refrigerated right..so I pull out the plastic bag holding my seeds, again, didn't read the black magic marker on the top of the plastic package, stopped after I opened freezer door, looked inside and thought these seeds are mighty small, look again...yep, one of you got me..lol...it should have been an April Fools joke...I'm slow at times...

Tubby, can't seem to get a clear/clear photo but it will give you an idea of the squirrel house...I'll bring the book to work and if you think you'd like to make one I'll post the instructions...
