Forgot to tell you a piece of news...this morning when I got to Suzanne's for my ride Lenny was outside starting his and her vehicle, said Suzanne wanted me to come inside to see something...

Now on Saturday when Danielle came with the baby she said she had something to ask of me...she is planning a June 2010 wedding and would I make her wedding dress..apparently when she was no more than 10 she saw a porcelain doll from the mint..said that was the dress she would want to wear when she got married so Suzanne saved and bought her this doll..she's about 2' tall

This morning the doll was standing on Suzanne's kitchen cupboard to show me the gown..gorgeous/gorgeous wedding dress...would suite her to a 't'..not so sure it's out of my league, have made a few wedding dresses and they've turned out ok..told her I would research more and determine if I think my sewing skills are up to it..anyway, will think about it...

Honor that she asked me though!

Stacey, I always purchase Fiskar's - good strong make..my other scissors have same mechanism..helps with hand ache...

Oh Betty, that sounds like an honor for her to ask you to make the dress. Do you have a picture of it? Or maybe a pattern that is close!

Fairy - sorry - too many posts to keep up!! LOL

Wow Betty-that is a lot of time to make it in too-well over a year....good planning on her part!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Cousin, also sister in law just e-mailed me..let's see if you can follow this:

My cousin Linda whom I was raised with - 5 yrs. younger than I married Roger's brother Rene..ok so far..

My brother Bernie was married to Noreen...

One day both Bernie and cousin Linda came home to find that Rene had left with Bernie's wife Noreen...

I wouldn't have them in my home after this...affected so many in my family and Roger's as well..got off track, thought I'd give you some history..

Linda just e-mailed me the following as I found out from sister Sharon that Linda needed some surgery... her reply:

"Many many!

But 1st I go March 19th for a deviated septum, they need to break the nose area and straighten it out. I have terrible sinus infections. I am going for a cat scan and a MRI next week. The MRI is because I cannot hear in my right ear and he thinks it is from past sinus infections and it might be inflamed.

The other surgeries which are not booked yet are: Bunion surgery both feet and 1 toe needs to be broken and a pin put in it. The other surgery is carpal tunnel, and then finally a breast reduction, because of my snow mobile accident many years ago when the ski hit my chest and Roger grabbed me and held on, that is why I have severe chest pain and they think by reducing my chest it will help with the weight.

Not sure when I will book them.

Wow I hate getting old"

And I thought I was having a bad day yesterday...lol

Oh my!! That is a lot!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

just had to post

Cancel your credit card before you die...........(hilarious!)

Now some people are really stupid!!!!
Be sure and cancel your credit cards before you die.

This is so priceless, and so, so easy to see happening, customer service being what it is today.

A lady died this past January, and Citibank billed her for February and March for their annual service charges on her credit card, and added late fees and interest on the monthly charge. The balance had been $0.00 when she died, but now somewhere around $60.00. A family member placed a call to Citibank.

Here is the exchange :

Family Member: 'I am calling to tell you she died back in January.'

Citibank : 'The account was never closed and the late fees and charges still apply.'

Family Member : 'Maybe, you should turn it over to collections.'

Citibank : 'Since it is two months past due, it already has been.'

Family Mem ber : So, what will they do when they find out she is dead?'

Citibank : 'Either report her account to frauds division or report her to the credit bureau, maybe both!'

Family Member : 'Do you think God will be mad at her?'

Citibank: 'Excuse me?'
< /B>
Family Member : 'Did you just get what I was telling you - the part about her being dead?'

Citibank : 'Sir, you'll have to speak to my supervisor.'

Supervisor gets on the phone :

Family Member : 'I'm calling to tell you, she died back in January with a $0 balance.'

Citibank : 'The account was never closed and late fees and charges still apply.'

Family Member : 'You mean you want to collect from her estate?'

Citibank : (Stammer) 'Are you her lawyer?'

Family Member : 'No, I'm her great nephew.' (Lawyer info was given)

Citibank: 'Could you fax us a certificate of death?'

Family Member : 'Sure.' (Fax number was given )

After they get the fax :

Citibank : 'Our system just isn't setup for death. I don't know what more I can do to help.'

Family Member : 'Well, if you figure it out, great! If not, you could just keep billing her. She won't care.'

Citibank: 'Well, the late fees and charges will still apply.'

(What is wrong with these people?!?)

Family Member : 'Would you like her new billing address?'

Citibank : 'That might help...'

Family Member : ' Odessa Memorial Cemetery , Highway 129, Plot Number 69.'

Citibank : 'Sir, that's a cemetery!'

Family Member : 'And what do you do with dead people on your planet???'

(Priceless!!)

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

ROFLMBO!!! That is too funny and so true when dealing with some people!! They have a way to write that stuff off or delete it from the account, so come on-that is so funny!!LOL

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Just a quick check in before I leave....helping Laura pack today and get organized, they get to start moving things to their new house tomorrow! Sage is the smart one, she asked if she could come live with Bill and I until after the move....Dad and Laura are grouchy!

Sorry about the migraine Betty.....as you can see we were all quite concerned.....we tend to run around like little chicks when Mama isn't here!

Later...if I am still able to move.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

OMG that's hilarious!

Yea, I thought I had a bad day yesterday too, that made me feel a lot better! I'm going to have to get pencil and paper out to follow that!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Trisha, aren't kids just the cutest...got it down pat..so will she stay with you for a few days? Is Laura feeling any better know she hasn't been well...you'll all be so relieved when the move is behind you..do they need trucks or can it be done with car/trailer?

Was funny, on Sunday gas was down, I needed window wash fluid so thought why not fill up while cost is down, so there is about 8 pumps, cars all over guess coming back from church, I pull up, lift my hood for the fluid then my tank to fill turn pump on and lady comes across the speaker saying, it's a prepay pump..drats, so off I go inside the store, stand in line-up, say I'm not sure how much it will take, I'll give you $50.00 bill, said I'll fill up and come and get the change...'no, you have to pick an amount...will that be $10/20 etc. etc.' so I reply that I'm NOT sure how much can I just not fill it ..nope pick $10/20 etc. drats then just give me $10. - so stupid...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That's stupid, here all of the pumps are pre-pay but you give them a 50 and they put 50 in and give you the change of whatever is left over.

Victoria Harbour, ON

well they aren't that smart here...another hour to go..then it's party time...thank goodness only for an 11 year old..couldn't hack a 'real' party lol..still bit of a headache, good nights rest and I'm sure I'll be as good as new tomorrow..better be, have to drive in myself rest of the week

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Well you be careful out there! Get rid of that headache too! My next door neighbor is coming over for a bit this evening so I probably won't be online, after she leaves I'm going to bed!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Tell the Birthday boy we all said Happy Birthday!

LK

Victoria Harbour, ON

Is that the same neighbor you'd like to drop in on from time to time?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will do LindaKay, he'll get a kick out of that..might just drop in, let Sailor out for a sec, get my camera...who knows, might be a few photo's left before battery runs out..lol what are you up to today LindaKay?

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi all, just taking a quick break, then back to getting stuff done around here...

Betty the painting is actually an acrylic paint by number thingy.... I finished filling in all the spots on the canvas last night...but whole painting looks 'flat' to me, no depth, no highlights, etc. funny thing, when I pulled it out of the box (its been in the closet for forever!) and looked at it, I thought maybe I should just use my oils to paint it...then figured this would get me used to using acrylics....so I can paint oudoor stuff in the future... well, after using the acrylics to paint it I am now wondering if I will EVER learn to use them! lol!will try to take a pix and post in a few minutes.

I just love coming to this thread and reading up each day. It kinda brightens my day, must remember to check this thread first thing in the morning each day...maybe will have brighter days from now on! lol!

happy Birthday to Noah!! Betty, I hate those migranes, thankfully I have not had one since Sept last year...of course I havent worked for that horrible boss since Sept last year....hmmm? correlation there? lol! Still praying for your brother. Hope everything turns up for him.

yes on the epson salt.... was going to post this and saw stacy beat me to it...works wonders on ingrown toenails!

Trisha, dont over do it! and give Laura a big hug from me....remind her that soon it will all be over (the move) and she can then concentrate on her new garden!

know there is lots more that I read about here, I just have horrible memory! ugh! so waving hi to all for now, will reread and post again later.

AnjL

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

here is the painting.... any and all help is greatly appreciated!

also, another question.... once I spray this with finish...will it look more glossy? like oil painting does?

Well AnnMarie you always brighten up our day..how's that for a mutual admiration society that we've alll join through posting here...

As for painting with acrylics, yes, it will always look flat until you shade and highlight..that's the trick..believe me once you learn how to do it, you'll be off painting everything in sight..I used to laugh at Roger, he said if he stopped long enough I'd paint him..one evening just for fun I DID!

Grandma was also a firm believer of epson salt..even to this day if I feel off, achy, I'll put a few spoonfuls in my bath..you feel so refreshed afterwards..you are not doing things you shouldn't be doing are you???

Victoria Harbour, ON

AnnMarie, that's awfully pretty...you are too hard on yourself..hard to shade and highlight a 'paint by number' piece, but you could, but why..looks nice enough to frame..

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

also... gotta post new grandbaby pix ^_^

He got his first haircut on sunday! isnt he just a handsome lil man now?!

He was sooo good too...just sat there on mommies lap trying to figure out why the lady was brushing his hair with her scissors! lol!

Thumbnail by 1AnjL
(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

it's hard to see in the picture, but there is really no depth at all.... I'll try to re do some of the darker areas tonight, and put some highlights in...

DSD wants that painting in her room! lol! so thinking if its gonna go on a wall where people can actually see it (instead of back in my closet with all the others I've done! lol!) then need to get some depth to it.

when I frame it, should I use a glass panel over it?

just realized I posted wrong photo of DGS! lol! here is the haircut pix... I love the eyes in this pix...like hey lady! what are you doing?! lol!

Hello Betty, not up to much of anything today. Just taking it easy.
Hope you get rid of that headache!

Enjoy the party.
LK

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKay, can't see you doing a little of nothing..lol

AnnMarie, I'm glad it will be displayed..you'll be encouraged to do another..do you have good brushes? that's half the battle..

He is just too adorable..omg usually children his age fight hairdressers..know LeeAnn here in the office has to do her little boy as she can't get him to stay still...ahhh love the photo with he and his mom..she looks terrified herself...

Mary, what have you been up to today..bet you are in New Orleans celebrating Shrove Tuesday right?

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Anjil, Your painting is very pretty. Make sure you get the glossy spray not the matt and stand back at least a foot and spray from top to bottom going back and forth and just lightly so it does not run. You can give about three coats that way. Hope this helps. BEV
This is one of my acrylics not paint by numbers but I used to do them.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

oooh! i love it! and love that black background! do you paint the white butterflies on top of the black?

yep, lots of really expensive brushes for the oil paintings lol! used my brushes for this painting (not the one in the box) just thinking I would have been happier with it if I had done the whole thing in oils, using their outline for the flowers and my imagination for the rest. May take out a blank canvas and just duplicate in oils and hang THAT one! lol! will play with it tonight and see what I come up with. part of the problem may just be the generic paints that come with the kit...thinking if I use my own acrylics to do highlights and touchups that I might get better coverage with them.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL She's my adultsitter LOL

Love the paintings, very very pretty!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Does anyone remember from old cartoons, like from the original Bugs Bunny days, a multi-colored pastel steam train engine with a huge pastel pink smoke stack shaped like a diamond?

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Yes Anjil. I paint all the background first. I think I remember a train like that Crissy.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All;

Well - I'm a little bummed....we didn't make New Orleans Mardi Gras. DH had to work Monday and Tuesday....both times he kept saying ...."Maybe I'll get off early"....but it was wishful thinking I think. Might of gone without him just to bring Line (Norway) but would have had to plan in advance.

So was off today for Mardi Gras, sunny almost 70 degrees, DH at work. What did I do? I completely weeded out the vegetable bed. Now that was a day's work...but I'll be glad I did it. Supposed to storm this weekend...so I won't get to putter around outside.

So sorry for the migraine....we were worried about you! Hope Noah's bday will be fabulous tonight....I'm sure it will be with his 'special surprise'!....

Quick visit....more later....
Hugs to all,
Mary

No Anjil just any acrylic paints. I did a couple of oils but didn't like to mess with them takes too much time. I haven't picked up a paint brush since Scotty had his strokes 8 yrs ago. BEV

I know what you mean about the mess, thats part of the reason why mine are in the closet...but its only been a year! lol! was going to use the gym as my art studio...but son will be living in there when he comes home...may just use it in the meantime, just put lots of drop cloths on his stuff! lol!

I want to do an oil painting of this photo....just with a different background

I finished planting all my bulbs (should have been planted in the fall!) now will cross my fingers and hope some survive and bloom! lol!

Oh and guess what? I actually receive the $1000. from state of CA for that lottery ticket I won! was expecting an IOU, but they actually sent a check! lol! wish I could go on a shopping spree :o( but DH already earmarked the money to pay off our new stove/oven grrr!!

off to buy more lottery tickets! lol! back later...
