Loved the one about the phone calls, even if I did feel sorry for the dog. What a great way to start the day, with a laugh among friends.
I have got to stay chained to the sewing machine for the next two days. I am hostess of the black and white quilt block swap and I still have 6 (yes, 6) left to do before Monday. I picked a very difficult pattern, for me, and then I am being very picky about what the finished product looks like. I have made and rejected at least 3 that didn't meet my standards. So now it is crunch time. The blocks I have gotten are so good I must keep up with these ladies!
Computer back in running for the moment. I'll take it in to work on Tuesday for my boys to have fun on their lunch hour taking it apart and doing a final diagnostic.
Betty-I am having a little problem with the feeder you gave me for the feeder swap-the slits at the bottom don't seem to be big enough for the seed-how do I make them bigger??
And I know I HAVE to have some more of that glue you sent me, so we will have to go to wherever they sell that stuff at...
Good morning,
Betty MIL came home Thursday and is uncomfortable...but glad to be home. She is about 25 minutes from us. Not sure I am going over there or not. Its too early to drink in the morning....and I just don't feel Gods hand over my mouth today.
Shane has a soccer game at 1:00...and Shannon needs a new pair of jeans and wants to go shopping. Ugh. She will no doubt try on 15 pairs...and go back and get the first ones.
We got hit with quite a bit of snow yesterday, at least 8 to 10 inches. I had to drive Rochester way in it for Shannons PT for her knee. It is supposed to snow all weekend.
Wish I could pack up and head your way. One weekend I will do just that, but the snow needs to be gone first I think.
Everyone have a good day.
Debbie

Laughing so hard Linda Kay, Cafe des Oisseaux is
Birds Cafe...so I read you 'text' and see I've forgotten yep, an 'a' in oisseaux..thanks for catching that..lol
So back to the work table, painted oisseux..shortly to be written 'oisseaux' drats I knew that!!!!
Stacey there isn't suppose to be a large opening, you take the chimney off and fill it with bird seed, not big sunflower seeds, grain type..but if you feel there still isn't a lot of room for seed to come out, let me see, what could you do? ahhhh bring it with you and we'll fix it...lol
Liz, I just know I'll get mega compliments on the set..can't wait to get into those pretty summer outfits and co-ordinate the set with it..I'll surely be queen of the ball..lol..and yes, out and get that passport..save those pennies, am sure you can get a flight to Toronto just as cheap as Chicago..lol..
OMG Debbie, laughing away here, your comment
" Its too early to drink in the morning...and I just don't feel Gods hand over my mouth today" I've felt that so many times..at least you are smart enough to know you should be quiet..lol happy shopping....
Janice, you are being much too hard on yourself..you do beautiful work..look at that bag you gave me when we were in Frankenmuth..think I should have joined that swap as well..looking forward though for the swap of 'my area'..so many things I can give that reflect my area..OMG I already found something - it's a joke type thing but soooo cute..would share but there are lurkers and I might have that lurkers 'name'..lol
welltaters55 i guess the free food is out .Thats okay we still get free advise & good conversation
What more could ya want !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL
Girlfriend Ann just dropped in, hadn't seen her since Christmas Day when I had brunch at their cottage...they've come up to make sure all is well at the cottage..some disturbing news though...her daughter Melissa who is in mid 30's just diagnosed with throat cancer..her hubby because of the problems with Melissa has been hidding a growth on his arm..went for testing this week, not sure what the problem is but they have to operate....can't believe Ann is holding up..she's prone to depression, most likely will deal with both situations only the breakdown once both have been operated on..
We both went through a few patterns and chose something so that on weekends when she's up we'll spend a few early hours Saturday painting together..
We were both saying just how blessed we are to have such great friends..
Funny, just before Ann dropped in, telephone rang and it was Jeff...thought he had called his ex-wife re Caleb and Braedon, so said 'mom' call you right back..still waiting..thought maybe if hockey game was finished early he might be heading north..won't take out the turkey roast though..lol..with these kids you never know!
Had the main door open to let sunshine in, but when Ann left you really could feel the temp had dropped, now downstairs it's time to turn the fireplace on..don't want to sit or that will be it for the day..not accomplished much so far, except to re-paint 'oisseaux'..lol
Cheetos& Deer sticks DW works this weekend (every 3rd)
Windy & cold UGH
Afternoon all.........not as cold as some of you, but I am having a difficult time getting warm this morning.....when I settle down to some projects may have to turn on the electric lap robe mum gave me...once I warm up will probably be too warm for the rest of the day.....never a happy medium!
One of our ladies at Church is sorting through all her fabrics and craft stuff before the big Rummage Sale next week. She called me and had good sized bag of fur scrap she thought I could us for Santa's.....some fake some real...one piece is a mink collar that had be disassembled for some project but never used.
My mum has a cute little tree she made from old jewelry so Clara also sent me two quart jars of old beads buttons and items from old broken costume jewelry...so I may have to try and make one.....I still have told mum I get the one she made someday...she gave me a beautiful silver bracelet she had back in the 50's but she put the matching earrings in the tree!! I want to replace the earrings with some other jewelry pieces as I would like to wear the earrings.
Guess I get help Laura finish packing since they can move into the new house early.....will be so glad to get this all over with so we can start on some projects here!!
Well, I have SAge under foot and I have to a flower arrangement ready for Church... will pop back in later.
Waving to all~~~
Hi, Good Afternoon!!
OH my gosh, I am in so much trouble!!
I received the most wonderful gift certificates to the Fat Quarter Shop.
Ahhhh. How overwhelming is it to shop on line. Betty, too funny, thought for sure in and out right,
Ih I have been lurking at everything for hours!! have no Idea what I want to make or what material to buy!
LOVING every minute though.
Speaking of material...BETTY,
Thank you so much for such lovely material. Wow...2 plus yards, You are a doll.
Thank you, now to figure out what I'ld like to make, and Sissor set, one can never have too many scissors in this house.
LOL, will have to lock them up! Took a photo now have to load it up...
Crissy, know this is past post, lol...but you know thats me always backwards...Anywho, I loe your birdhouse set. You got at a round up...they are real neat, an yet another project for my list. LOL. So, did Dave end up working??
Well, my friend your most welcome!! ROFLOL, so sorry it sort slipped when I was explaining you weren't feeling well. Show my honey cares about you, wanted to know why you weren't having your vitamins from lemmons, and hahhaha, so sorry, said you were too busy blasting racoons with em...oops! Anyways glad you are feeling better today.
Woke up to 4 inches of snow, yow.
Betty, geesh, don't think I can outdo last years birthday present. But it sure is fun to know you are still talking about it!
As far as me and Liz, yep were quite the pair...you know she is the one to always get me started...(right)...hehehe,shhhh.
OH, Stacey...how exciting, you and Betty will have sooo much fun. And I am so looking forward to see and hearing all about it.
OK gott run for a few...be back shortly.
OMG Judy it got there so quickly..you didn't notice that the material was purchased to fit the top of your bed, and it's a cheaters quilt, meaning it resembles blocks , shapes, as though you already did sew them together? I have the same trio set of scissors and I find they cut well...still can't believe it got there already..post office must be improving their service..
Tubby you wouldn't want to be eating anything I cook..you haven't been around enough to know grandchildren call me the 'pretend food' grandma..my husband God rest his soul spoilt me with his cooking, don't like to cook, only do if I must...
Wow Trisha you hit pay dirt..laughing when I think of you doing more of those victorian santa's..surely you are tired of them...no wonder you are tired out...when will Laura be able to move in? Is she excited..know it's hard to be excited when you are not feeling well..once it's over she can relax and enjoy..with spring around the corner she'll be thinking all different ways of designing her gardens...
Danielle, my niece just dropped in..thought I'd better get that table/chair set done, the one with the tea party set up on top of the table and the chairs cut out to look like rabbits having high tea...she pick golden oak for the stain..then I searched and searched for the book that this project was in..know I had it last weekend when I was cleaning and organizing but where it is goodness knows..doesn't matter, I'll pray to St. Anthony he'll find it for me..I can still stain the set ..oh my, Ariana is growing so quickly, she was sound asleep until Sailor started to nudge her and bark, poor Sailor she wasn't quite sure what a baby is?
Had shovelled all the back walkway but hadn't done so in the front, Ann trudged through the snow on the front deck and now Danielle so thought I must get out and do the front deck and walkway..thank goodness I've a plow man who does the entire drive..while shovelling telephone rings, can always tell because Sailor howls when the phone rings, run inside, stops, no message left..back out I go, same, inside I come..finally thought perhaps being Saturday night it might be Greg..called his house and yes, his snowmachine isn't ready yet but Melanie has an extend a track so they thought if it was ok for Noah and his friend to come and spend evening/night that they'd go up the islands..Kyle is at a friends house ... they always check, wonder what they would do if I said 'yes, I am busy!' must be nice to know mom is always home!
Thought I'd post before the kids get here as I'm not likely to get the computer once they are..lol
My little visitor...Ariana
Table and chair set ready for me to stain..big project..mega painting in this set, but only little girl I know, it's been sitting here forever it seems waiting to get done..at least if it's painted/stained any time I'm looking for something to do I can work on it..don't think Ariana will need it for yet another year but would look pretty in her room...I'm off...burning MY potatoes, had them on before I knew the little tykes would visit..off to the restaurant they can go..
Betty, Laura and Sean were told the old tenant will do his walk through with the Landlord early on the 25th.....and as soon as he is signed off they can start moving things in. Guess what I most likely be doing this week? Probably helping finish with the packing....have already given notice that I will watch Sage and sidewalk supervise but I am not toting boxes.....don't have the back for that any longer......
Mail truck just left so guess I had better get the ladies their mail......I am never in that much of a hurry to receive My bills!!!
Judy-I can't wait to see what material you get!!
Betty-I will bring it with me-I guess part of it is my fault as I buy the seed mix that does have some of the sunflower seeds, but even with just a few of them, I have to go out and shake it so hard my "girls" hurt by the time I am done to get seed to come out!!LOL
Judy, my 60th will always be the most special birthday I ever had because of you all..and do I talk about it, yes to everyone who will listen..no need to celebrate the rest of them, my biggest joy already was experienced..
Trisha best you not be lifting heavy boxes..my downfall, always thinking I've more muscles than I have..my goodness, the 25th is next week, not long at all..
Boys went over and got supper, then treats for the evening and they are settled downstairs watching t.v. while grandma is upstairs watching her shows..
Stacey you have me laughing..'girls' hurting! lol
Now time to get into my jammies and call it a night, sure these young ones will be up half the night...who is looking after who..lol

I'll bet you two have a good time together.!!!!
Buttercups
Toward the end of the golf course, Harry somehow managed to hit his ball into the woods finding it in a patch of pretty yellow buttercups.
Trying to get his ball back in play, he ended up thrashing just about every buttercup in the patch. All of a sudden, POOF!, in a flash and puff of smoke, a little old woman appeared. She said, "I'm Mother Nature! Do you know how long it took me to make those buttercups? Just for that, you won't have any butter for your popcorn the rest of your life; better still; you won't have any butter for your toast for the rest of your life..... as a matter of fact, you won't have any butter for anything the rest of your life!" THEN POOF!....she was gone.
After Harry got a hold of himself, he hollered for his friend, Fred. "Fred, where are you?"
Fred yells back, "I'm over here, in the Pussywillows."
Harry yells back......"DON'T SWING FRED!!!" "For God sake, DON'T SWING!!"
Turpentine Vs Holy Water
Little Johnny was sitting on the curb with a gallon of turpentine,
shaking it up and watching all the bubbles.
A while later a Priest came along and asked Little Johnny what he had.
Little Johnny replied, 'This is the most powerful liquid in the
world, it's called turpentine.'
The Priest said, 'No, the most powerful liquid in the world is
Holy Water. If you take some of this Holy Water and rub it on a pregnant
woman's belly, she'll pass a healthy baby.'
Little Johnny replied, 'You take some of this turpentine and rub it on a
cat's ass, he'll pass a Harley Davidson
JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story. His dad read: 'The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt.' Concerned, James asked: 'What happened to the flea?'
The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget .
This particular Sunday sermon...'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust...' He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
Hello To All -
Just popping in for a bit. Big Weekend. Hairspray was really enjoyed by the teens. Betty - considering we gambled a HUGE $15....no - we didn't win anything. :) We had spent more time at dinner, and right about the time DH offered to show me his prowess at the roulette table, the kids texted "Hairspray over"... so just a few minutes at casino. Fine with me - that's not really my thing. :)
Spanishtown in Baton Rouge was fun today albeit....we were quite tired from last night. Line's first Mardi Gras (Norwegian Exchange Student). She seemed to have a blast.
Will send pic if anyone wants to see.
LizRainey - As best I can tell...it's different this year....American Idol....Three groups of 12, and we pic the #1 Male, #1 Female, #2 top votes. So Group 1 went last week and Danny, a blonde girl, and a country guy will end up in top 12. Tatiana is out. Supposed to be on Wednesday / Thursday next week, not sure why....could it be because of Mardi Gras?
Not sure if I'll get to plant anything this weekend (probably a good thing if so....frosts can still appear!). But We have a little area near the house/brick wall with a Sea Grape and Rosemary, and I'm thinking of planting some Sun Coleus, and Lemon Thyme with Creeping Thyme. Boring area now...needs some interest. HOT (in summer), low water, full sun. The thyme near the pool didn't work last year...maybe because the pool has salt-water.
DH and weather permitting, we might take in New Orleans Mardi Gras tomorrow. I hope it works out....I'd like to show it off to the exchange student. (Line-Norway). Have realized that Rico (German) just doesn't enjoy those kinds of things....so he probably won't accompany us....
Hugs to All,
Mary - Baton Rouge, LA - 8B
Hey all....

A Young woman was pulled over for speeding. A South Dakota State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said, 'I bet you are going to sell me a ticket to the State Trooper's Ball. 'He replied, ' South Dakota State Troopers don't have balls.' There was a moment of silence. He then closed his book, got back in his patrol car and left.
I loved the golf story 'tubby' and how are you this morning...what do you and DW have planned for today, anything? Can you get outside and garden?
AnnMarie, went and posted my 'yellow' flower in memory of those who lost their lives...
Mary, as the years go by if Rico doesn't go into New Orleans/French Quarter to see all it has to offer during the Mardis Gras season, he'll be kicking himself, he'll say how he was afforded the opportunity and turned it down..maybe, know it's not nice to do so, but should say he must..might never get another chance...didn't think your area could still get frost....hey, that $15.00 could have been a shrub..lol you've been keeping up quite a schedule of late entertaining those young ones..
Noah and his Jeremy have just left for the outdoor skating rink, because it did snow last night I didn't think it would be cleaned off but they seem to think it will be..Sailor so wants to follow them..too cold her her old hip..don't kids eat breakfast anymore..wanted to make hot chocolate/toast and etc.etc but they were not hungry..
Spiced pork roast out of freezer, going to put the bread machine on and take to my sewing project...
Be back at break..lol..
Terry-those were cute!!LOL And no I didn't forget you were here when I posted that-that was my PG version for DG:)
Betty-it is true-I have to shake the bejesus outta that thing to get seed out-you should see me-if you were watching from a ways away, you may think I was having a seizure or something!!
New Orleans is one place that is on DH & mines wish list for places to go visit-we have several, have already been to several places, but for me Hawaii is #1...
Just bring it along with you Stacey, we'll figure out something..
Got a call from Cathy saying there was an inside garage sale and there was one or 2 items she thought I might want..a little fountain - a chandelier..so figured it was time to check on those boys of mine at the rink even though Melanie went already and they wanted one more hour of playing hockey...also needed a few groceries, thinking of calling my MIL as she has about 8 pairs of slacks that need shortening, so, good excuse to go, in the snowy winter weather to my 1st garage sale of the year...
What did I find, little water unit too small, chandelier way too heavy, you'd need a 150 yr. old oak tree to hold it, but did find a birdhouse..have no idea what I'll do with it but I'm sure something will come up..he wanted $20.00 but I got it for $15.00 most likely I could have gotten it cheaper but hey, everyone is trying to make $$$ and it will be a garden treasure...
Missy, we'll as she and Riley keep their distance she's sitting patiently waiting for Riley to move so she can get top billing..have to say always have company...
Ann and Mike are coming over, I've a coffee table made of oak and as I bought that lift coffee table type no room for it, they can use it at the cottage, so off to make muffins so I'll have something to offer them...
Not having much luck though with finding my painting book with the table and chairs in it..came across a photo copy of one of the chairs, HAVE to tear thi
finish my word, OMG just behind this keyboard I've my sewing machine scanner hooked up, sitting underneath what did I find...yep..my book..thank you St. Anthony patron of lost objects..prayers do work!
lol thank God I didn't stain this piece..no stain whatever on it...can't you just see a little girl playing tea time at this table..think somewhere I have a little tea set that might just match...
Photo on the left, the blue square is what will be painted on table top...
2nd chair..cute as a button as well, now I have to get at it...
Stacey try my best to complete it by the time you visit so you can see it..
oh my-how ADORABLE!!!
Good Morning!
I caught the crud yesterday when I was out shopping, my throat started hurting and all went downhill from there. I don't have a fever this morning like I did when I went to bed last night, so that's good, but my chest is all congested, I have body aches all over, and my throat feels like there's a porcupine stuck in it.
I'll read up later after I eat and take some medicine.
Stacey I was just being a smarty..Dw got a giggleout of that when she came home from work..DW works today again.(every 3rd weekend)..18 degrees outside to cold to go to shop.Suppose to be in 50s by Tue & wed.Snow on Thur. &cold again..I'll take advantage of that on Tue & Wed.DW & I Are going to see DWs mom on Wed DW will fix her hair (perm I think) I'M sure she will have a list of CHORES for me..LOL That is okay I love her We give each other a lot of S--t (guff). She is quick with a come back..Love it..New garage doors for her ..But not till it is warm on a weekend when BILs can help..I got them into a Job a few years ago..We put Vinyl siding on her house. We only had a start. Then I got sick.It took a long time to finish .I was only able to supervise & doing it on weekends. One is a welder the other a machinist ..Not carpeters.LOL
The ground is to frozen to garden.I will finish my light stand for my seedling.Made of PVC..Take a peek Easy peasy
[HYPERLINK@www.tsflowers.com]
Maybe to the shop later 35* we'll see..At least the winds are calmer .Dishes are done.I'll straiten up a little around house after I get done making my mess with stand.I'm screwing it together
I tried to post a yellow rose but pic wouldn't move DUH..Called operator error.LOL
