Linda Kay can you ever have too many seeds? Doubtful..lol..remember I started a DG friendship garden, was late in the fall, bought a lot of shrubs and did dig up a bit of the garden area, but this year it must be extended so am hoping to get enough plants from seeds that it gives the area an english garden look...at least 1/2 of the area gets afternoon sun but the other 1/2 is shade so will be picking up some hosta's..previous years in June the local church has a plant sale..always purchase hosta's..last year I believe they were between $3 to $5. each but in gallon tubs and mature..so it will be a must this year...

Bev, thanks didn't know if i was suppose to get earth/take seeds and lay on the snow..must get more knowledgeable..perhaps my journal will help me...

Off to check the link..

Do I have all these craft project laying around..omg do I ever..just need to pick up MDF for sleigh tops and we're ready to go..going to teach you what real multi tasking is all about...we might even get a trip to Meaford is we play our cards right...

Goint to view your link..not sure why, many of the links didn't work lately...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I have been getting up about 8 or so these days-been staying up later-til about midnight, and then I read through all my other threads and do this one & SI last:) By the time I am ready to go to bed, DH gets home and then I have been spending about an hour with him before pooping out.....

BTW-Terry-DH & I both loved the joke!!LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Beautiful home Stacey...wow, didn't know you were 'that' into gardening..lovely specimen..another lilly lover...you've made an archive of each and every plant..a must do for me this year...

Just too bad you won't be visiting when you can see my gardens... oh well, who knows, you might just want to come back in the summer....now Stacey, in prep for your visit, is there anything special you'd like to do?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Judy, you with teens and in school thought I'd share..could just see Jacob pulling this off..lol

Why mothers drink!

A Mother passing by her son's bedroom was astonished to see that his bed was nicely made and everything was picked up.

Then she saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow that was addressed to Mom. With the worst premonition she opened the envelope with trembling hands and read the letter.

Dear Mom,
It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Dad and you.

I have been finding real passion with Stacy and she is so nice. But I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercing, tattoos, tight motorcycle clothes and the fact that she is much older than I am. But it's not only the passion...... Mom, she's pregnant. Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.

Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the other people that live nearby for cocaine and ecstasy. In the meantime we will pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Stacy can get better. She deserves it. Don't worry Mom. I'm 15 and I know how to take care of myself. Someday I'm sure that we will be back to visit so that you can get to know your grandchildren.

Love,
Your Son John

P.S. Mom, none of the above is true. I'm over at Tommy's house. I just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than the report card that's in my center desk drawer.

I love you.

Call me when it's safe to come home

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Fairy, You pics of your flowers are very pretty. I have a suggestion if it won't make you mad. When your tulips die down along your walkway you could put some low growing cosmos in between them and have color all summer and fall. BEV

Thumbnail by dragonfly62

Interesting concept Bev..that's primarily why I don't plant a lot of things i.e. tulips/iris..when their time to bloom is finished you just have old gawky stems...hmmm guess that means I ought to be buying Cosmo seeds..

Think I asked last week, maybe no one was into gardening that early..lol..have any of you heard of vine spinach...beautiful purple like flowers??? can eat the leaves...bought some seed going to try it..not that I eat spinach..each week going to Garden Gallery I'm going to purchase seed packets that are totally off the wall and see what becomes of them

Pretty butterfly..how's that kitty of yours?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tubby, brain storm idea just came to me..been looking at your birdhouse condo, trying to figure an easy way (FOR ME) to make this..then it hit me...the main frame I'll cut to size but will not put it together..then I'll make all the birdhouses .. then will screw them to 1 of the 4 sides, then more birdhouses on the 2nd side, then 3rd and 4th and then screw the sides together to make the main frame..piece of cake..can you follow my concept..think it would work..now what do I have planned for this weekend...lol

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Betty-I just want to learn some painting techniques and be crafty in general...see some of your area-go to any super neat stores you have by you....nothin big...my 2 fave flowers are lilies and iris-i just got a TON of iris this last year and hope at least some of them bloom this year:)

Bev-doesn't make me mad at all, but DH has prohibited me planting anything else there-he says they are a pain to mow around but will deal with it as he LOVES the way the tulips look, but once they start dying back, he just mows over them!!LOL When I was planting those tulips Nov '07 though, he was making fun of me freezing my butt off but agreed that the end product was fabulous and yes that I do have an eye for these things;)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tubby forgot the visual.. yours of course...could you provide me with dimensions of all the little birdhouses?

It's a lovely 62* here today! And I feel like s&%t! This crud wont go away! I'm weak as a kitten, NOT hubngry, but I have to try to eat, diabetes, ya know! My kitty, Marmi, makes up for it, he keeps me busy filling his dish! He's laying by his dish now, meowing really soft! I know he can't be hungry! I'm drinking a little coke, hoping that will make my tummy feel better.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Hey Fairy. Tell him he can mow right up behind the cosmos and no big deal then plant a ground cover on top of the tulips. WOWZY BEV

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

What my eventual plan is, is to have Dahlias in pots on each circle-pots that are hard enough, that he doesn't have to be careful with the weed wacker-I have learned after several lost flowers, that if he doesn't have an edge for the wacker, I loose things:(

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I know what you mean. I used to have that trouble too. Good gardening to you. BEV

OMG Audrey that has been going on for some time..know you cancelled your appt. the other day because of it, can you not get into the Dr's office..know it's hard when you need washroom facilities close by but perhaps that would make them see you quicker..flat ginger ale and crackers..that out to help..low 60's, what I wouldn't give..snow has stopped here for now, perhaps it will be all we get and it's off to north country..

Just love kitties...when I was cleaning yet another cupboard last night, found a catnip throw .. thought I had hid all the ones I had dragging as a treat as I got a call last fall from painting girls saying Missy was going into fits...ok so nobody told me you can't have about 10 of these on the floor at once..she sure was on a 'high' so am careful now..she sure did enjoy playing with it last night..

Stacey best you get your rest now...you'll need it...

Aren't we lucky to have cats/dogs around to keep us company...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Bev, you know what I like about these threads..when it is done out of kindness to help someone, no one gets their hair in a tizzy..all willing to learn..

Stacey..GOOD NEWS!

Did you know your dollar is worth about 25% more than ours, so everything you see you'll think what a discount..lol..

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Tubby

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Betty-I am ssuming my debit card will work for gas and such, that way I don't have to deal with exchanging currency??

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'll keep looking for the sander..not so sure that our Canadian Tire doesn't carry same brand..

Trying to remember Stacey, do know interact I can go get money and they do the exchange..perhaps not pay for each fill up but you can get cash from time to time..ask me..lol

Update on my computer...I came into work and told one of the guys I work with about my problems and how much it was going to cost to fix. He told me to cancel the job at BB and bring it in and he and a couple of his friends here would fix it on their lunch hour. Did just that; got it back before they had done anything so didn't cost me a dime and now all it will cost me is buying lunch for these guys so they can have "fun" playing with my computer. They are all geologists or engineers, but they have a passion for the computer so I am in good hands. I am, however, without a home computer until they get mine fixed sometime next week. I am down to getting on here at work and that is only a some time thing. They do pay me to WORK here.

Debbie, when it comes to the ring on your table...take good old Vaseline and rub it into the table. Put lots on and keep rubbing it into the wood. Lots of time this will do the trick. Always does it when someone leaves rings on the table from glasses and this is a similar problem.

Victoria Harbour, ON

How nice for you Janice, saved you some $$$ and they probably felt great helping you out...now what a nifty idea you've just given Debbie..am sure I'll be able to put that to good use..

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Enjoyed all of the garden pictures.....am sooo ready for summer to get here............

Mom is doing great.....she had our monthly lunch group over yesterday, and in spite of the help I think she over did it a bit.....so her knee bothered her a bit last night....she has agreed to take it easy and read today.

Need to get all the birdhouses ready and feeders cleaned.....sun is out today and the little birds are out and chasing each other everywhere....Spring is not far away....(I keep telling myself this).

You should go over to the Polymer Clay Thread and see the Beautiful Fairies jsut posted there.....need to practice a LOT.....I would love to make something that looks as good as these!!

Guess I will go and work on my little frog.....

Ames, NE(Zone 5b)

Vasaline !!! who would of thought..I'll bet lots of us learned something today..DW says we will have to remember that..Thanks for the tip.. ladydragon5

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad your mom is doing better...isn't that always the way, think you are on top of the world do far too much and end up taking a few steps backwards...must fill my feeders as well..only thing left is sunflower seed, must pick up something for the little birdies....

Trisha you keep telling up about the plymer clay forum but where, going to try and locate it...lol

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

It is a thread I opened in the Craft and Decorating Forum....may need to see about changing it to the Clay Forum? I will go and find the link for it...BRB

Open the web site you want, then go to the top of the page, and highlight the address bar. Then right click and copy. Then come back here and click on paste.
It will look like this, (see below) but when you send the message it will look like the above link.

Stacey, what I'm saying is I don't think you can use your actual interact card at stores or gas stations, credit cards yes..same as when I travel the USA..but, that doesn't mean that I can't go to an interact machine and get a few $$$ for my day!
