Morning Sistahs !!!

Well, it's not suppose to warm up much today... high of 52*... so, my helper might not want to work today... if not, we'll get a good start on Monday, and keep going till we get it all done.

Donna... thought about you this morning during the news... will the stimulus package help you with your mortgage?... sounds like between 7-9 million people are going to get help with it.

Kim, drive careful... I've never driven in blizzards before... heck, I've never driven in snow before either... but I know it can be treacherous... so, be very careful dear.

Just checking in this morn, if my helper wants to work today, then I probably wont be back on till tonight...

See Ya...

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

BJ I'd settle for 52 about now....LOL.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Bj, I hope he shows up, and you get a lot of work done! It is supposed to be 75 here for the several days!

LOL... I know Synda... you northerners get it pretty bad every year... it was 80* yesterday and I was in shorts all afternoon. Worked up a sweat...
For us Texans, anything below 60* is too cold to work outside... the down side of that is that we get too anxious to plant spring stuff when the weather is like this... then we get a late freeze in March.

Morning everyone..

Kim Im so sorry to hear about your dad.. I will keep your family in our prayers and elieve me we say alot of them lately..

BJ Im hoping the stimulus will help but I doubt it.. We already have a 5% fixed loan that was done while Tony was sick and most of the package is to reduce rates.. Sorry I guess after everything we have been through I have given up on the fact that **the man** is gonna help us in any way..

LK crapes root pretty easily in a sandy well draining mix.. Semi hardwood is best if its too green it will limp and die.. very pretty and the closest thing to lilacs that grow here in the sunshine state.. Unfortunately Tony is the only one in the house who isnt allregic to teh pollen on the blooms.. My eyes well up and I can breath,, When we ought the house there were 7 huge ones out front that we ended up having to cut out with chainsaws.. Babies still pop up from pieces in the ground and I will keep an eye out for them if you want them.. I think they were purple and white..

Trisha love your clay work.. Very very pretty.. I never would have though of ding something like that!

Jaye your quilt blocks are beautful. Someday Someday I will learn to quilt after all this mess is over.. I am taking care of my sinuses and spent most of the day cleaning the house ( disenfecting..) yesterday and organizing. I can actually find my tote of fabric now and its storming pretty bad out there today so I should be able to get it out.. lol

Huggs to everyone I missed,,,

Since it is below 30 and snow with ice under it, I could go for some of that 52 degrees! Here someof you hav ethings poking up and all I have is leftover dead leaves and snow. Actually, I would settle for just having some sun.
Kim, take it easy with our weather here in Michigan. Different parts get way different stuff, so go slow.

( Kim) Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

I no that when I left Fairy's house to go a 3 hour drive to Ohio I was going 35 on a 70 mile interstate So I pay lots of attention on all side
It took 5 hours
Just talked to the UP storm last nite but so windy it blew away the snow so wait for mailman that go

Morning All,

After 5 days of rain we are having sunshine. Yesterday I was outside to see what damage had been done as we had a bad rain and wind storm Tuesday night. Everything a ok found this lone daffodil on the other side of my little creek.

I'm going to Curves this morning to check it out and see what it's going to cost. They are haing 50% off plus 30 days on them. i really need this big time. All of my clothes have shrunk, lol. Blamed it on Rick, he did the laundry last.

Here are some of my Tulips and Daffs sticking up. I'm hoping to spend time today and Friday outside. I started some garlic in some peat pots and have them in a huge plastic jar that pretzels came in and they are about 6 inches tall.

Today is my grandson's 14 b-day and he will be coming home from Washington DC. Him and some classmates and chaparones left Saturday morning. He had talked to my daughter on Monday and said he was having a blast. Will be having pizza and cake Friday night for him.

Morning everyone!!

Kimmie-I am so happy to hear your dad is doing better!!!!

I am so jealous of the lot of you that have things peeking:( I saw some green on some iris and some crocus peeking, but it will be a bit B4 they come up-now if I can keep the rabbits from eating them all this year!! I got to enjoy just a few blooms this last year-I would come home from work one day and they would have beds, the next day they would be eaten down to the ground!!UGH!!

I would love to have some large petoscky stones to put in my beds for interest. I so have some puddin stones that my mom gave me-apparantley they started in glaciers or something and then kinds rolled on down-I don't know-that is what my mom told me-they have speckles of reds, blues and greens in them-I just have red ones..

Trisha-what a pretty bottle!!! Can you have me for the repurposed glass container swap-Huh Auntie Biggles & Jiggles??LOL

The daff and this Primerose are the only flowers in bloom here.

Although I am not retired, yet, these really do apply.

Ramblings of a Retired Mind

I was thinking about how a status symbol of today is those cell phones that everyone has clipped onto their belt or purse.
I can't afford one. So, I'm wearing my garage door opener.

I also made a cover for my hearing aid and now I have what they call blue teeth, I think.

You know, I spent a fortune on deodorant before I realized that people didn't like me anyway.

I was thinking that women should put pictures of missing husbands on beer cans!

I was thinking about old age and decided that old age is 'when you still have something on the ball, but you are just too tired to bounce it.'

I thought about making a fitness movie, for folks my age, and call it "Pumping Rust."

I have gotten that dreaded furniture disease. That's when your chest is falling into your drawers!

I know, when people see a cat's litter box, they always say, "Oh, have you got a cat?"
Just once I want to say, "No, it's for company!"

Employment application blanks always ask who is to be notified in case of an emergency.'
I think you should write, "A Good Doctor!"

Why do they put pictures of criminals up in the Post Office?
What are we supposed to do... write to these men?
Why don't they just put their pictures on the postage stamps so the mailmen could look for them while they deliver the mail?
Or better yet, arrest them while they are taking their pictures!

I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a whole lot more as they get older.
Then, it dawned on me, they were cramming for their finals.
As for me, I'm just hoping God grades on the curve.

Stacey, you need to take a week end trip up to Traverse City area. You can walk the beach and find them, Not easily, but they are there. Now big Petoskey stones are very hard to find, they are mostly large golf ball, and maybe tennis ball size. And once they are tumbled, they are really shiny and pretty!
Cindy, Curves is a bunch of aerobic exercises, at least the one here is! They have recorded music, and everyone goes around the room in cirlces, taking turns on the different machines. By the time you complete the cirlce, you have worked every muscle group, arms, legs... Then they try to sell you all the curves foods, and shoes....
Janice, how you doing? When do you get your computer back?
Donna, would love some crepe myrtles if you get some to show up this year. Thanks

LK

Cordele, GA(Zone 8a)

Cindy, Linda K explained Curves well. I'll add that you weigh in monthly and your measurements are taken monthly also. When you signed up your initial weight and measurements were taken and your weight loss goal was recorded. I lost over 50 lbs closer to 60 but I can't remember the exact amount. I went for 2 years. Not going has caused me to find 18 of those lbs back plus the fact I'm not smoking anymore. Cindy, Curves is a great way to lose weight and get into shape. You'll discover muscles you didn't know you had even though the exercise is a low maintenance workout. Trisha goes to Curves, she can tell ya too.

You go Deb!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, this is what I am working on for my angel trumpet garden. I will probably put some ground cover in as well, but this is what we have so far.
I spent all day yesterday cutting all the old fence boards. Everything is in place, now it just needs to be assembled! The fence boards will go in the back, and the timbers will be the front and the sides. Then I need to call for some dirt to be delivered.
So after cutting all those boards yesterday, today is a day of rest. Muscles are too sore to do anyhting else! Maybe I will color my hair!

A good doctor for an emergency would make sense, Janice!! Lol!!
Looks like you're on the way to a happening bruggy garden this year, LK.
Well, it seems that not all states will qualify for the foreclosures' bailout plan, and Florida is one of them :(
My whole body aches today, on account of NOT following my own advise. In trying to help a church sister, I've been using muscles that I've not used in a long time!!

LUNCH BREAK !!!

My helper did show up, and has worked really constant since he got here... I did make him stop for a coffee break though... he'll probably be the rest of the day on the one bed to finish in the secret harden, though. Then, next week, we'll move to another part of the yard...
I planted my sweet pea seeds today too... been freezing them, thawing them, freezing them, thawing them, and soaked them all night last night... so... they should be ready to plant... right?

Well, gotta run to the bank so I can pay this young man today... It's looking so nice... and I'm getting too excited about getting it all planted now.
