Okay....drum roll please!

Marion got me these FABULOUS gifts that are PERFECT!

She got me two bird feeders that are globes...I think I will do sunflower seeds in them and hang them out where the cardinals all like to eat. She sent two note pads with magnets to hang on the frig with hummers on them and a pack of note cards to match...so thoughtful..she sent me a COOKIE and the tin is perfect. She sent an adorable angel for my garden and her head came off in transit, but I'm pretty sure I can fix it. I got a Vera Bradley cell phone cover and it is so cool, now I just have to get a cell phone!! :O) I love the necklace she sent, it looks like she had it made just for me cause it is sage green and plum, my colors and I can't wait to wear it, it is beautiful. I'm saving the best for last...

This is the most wonderful gift. I can't wait to get some lamp oil. It will have a place of honor on the coffee table in the living room. It's awesome and I love it. Thank you so much, Marion. I was floored when I saw how much it cost you just to SEND me the gift, let alone all the really cool things inside.

This is an oil candle. I'm going to go to their website and look at their other things, I just love this so much.

Here is a close up of my necklace....it was so worth the wait on this gift.

Marion, from the bottom of my heart...thank you.

Woohoo...I got my hands on a toaster oven!!!

Waiving hello...Got some things to catch up on so will be back in a bit.

Enjoy your day all.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Judy. Please explain the busha scarves? What does that have to do with a fairy?
LK

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Hi everyone!I'll be so glad when I get over this crud! When I start thinking it's gone, it reminds me it's not! I've been spending my time taking phenergan and sleeping! Almost anything I eat hurts my tummy, and I have to eat, I'm diabetic. Sigh!
I have things peeping out of the ground! One looks like a tulip, but I don't remember planting a tulip! I want to plant my devil's trumpet seeds, but I can't find them! I will, sooner or later, and I don't feel like hunting for them.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Oh Kimmie-I am so sorry to read that:( I am glad that he is a "tough old bird" and should be better in no time..

BJ-mailing you some atlas gloves-if anyone wants some, just ask AnnMarie when she is doing her next co-op....I think if a couple people want to share, you can get a box of like 12 pairs with free shipping from the site she used-then it is like $2 to send the 1/2 to the other person...who else was it that didn't get a pair but meant to-Debra?? LK??

BJ-also I was thinking some pretty grasses, like Huron Sunrise, Huron Solstice or Purpascens (sp?) would be nice there and would do OK with that amount or light-you said it gets about 70% sun?? And tell Uncle Don I am mad at him too and to make it up to me he can have an arbor ready for me when I come in May!!ROFL!!!

Cody-if you do small claims and win, they would also be responsible to pay the legal fees, to which you don't need a lawyer for small claims...

Coushatta, LA

Morning everyone!!!!

Kimmie sorry to hear about your dad.My prayers are with you and your family.

Audrey, sorry to hear you are still sick i hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Stacey.....

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Kim, sorry to hear of your dad's illness. Hope he is feeling much better soon.

Cookie, that's some special 'stuff'! The bird feeders are unique. I've never seen any like that. Marion goes above and beyond for her sistahs doesn't she?

Stacey, your recipe is going straight to my files. BJ, your bread is already there.

Just came in from trimming crepe myrtles and digging up three roses. Tired and sore! Supposed to get to 70 degrees today so my plan is to do as much outside as possible. Will get back down to the 30's tonight and cold the next few days. Gotta make hay while the sun is shining! (or in this case, trim crepe myrtles)

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, I am making BJ's bread right now, and we will find out if goofing it up works. I didn't read my instructions and added the yeast to the liquid before I microwaved it. It's in the bread machine on the dough cycle now, so we shall see!

There are tulips coming up and since I didn't plant them, I'm not sure what they'll look like. I dug most that I could find out when I planted the new garden area last year, cause they were only leaves and no flowers. If all these that are coming up are the same, I'll dig them also. Looks like all of the Japanese Maples are swelling, so I don't think I lost any in that minus temp and fridged wind. I am SOOOOO happy about that. I just LOVE my JMs!

Couldn't find anyone to go walking with me, so I just walked over to Dusty and Bertie's house with Cayenne. I'm ready for spring. I pulled some grass out of the flower beds and if it wasn't so damp and icky out, I could have pulled weeds too! Oh well, there is always tomorrow. Dusty said it's supposed to be 50* today and snow tonight. Aw the joys of living in the Miami Valley in Ohio....

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Cody, you grow roses, I have a question! I bought a beautiful rose last year. I know you're supposed to trim back roses in the spring. Mine is just full of leaf buds! What happens if I don't prune it back? I'm afraid I'll lose a lot of flower buds!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

OK I need some advise here.I've never started seeds inside before, and I would like to know what is the difference between regular fluorescent lighting and fluorescent grow lights besides the price.Money is an issue here.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Synda, I bought a flourescent tube light fixture and mounted it on the wall, mine are doing well. That's for overwintering plants, so I would say seeds would do OK, too!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Great ,because we have some of the regular ones and I have a metal shelving unit that has like 6 shelves and I want to mount the light under each shelf and then put my seed tray on the shelves.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

There is a good bit of natural light in the room but not enough.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Cookie those are beautiful….please share the website with us! I love Cattails and Copper! One of the local galleries has several sculptures of Cattails done in wood and copper that are to die for….and their cost would probably give you a heart attack…definitely out of my range.

Marion wonderful job!

Kimmie so sorry about your dad, glad they decided to go check on him. Hope everything will be okay. And sweetie don’t ever be sorry to coming to us for a little support when things aren’t going well…..we would be more upset if you didn’t. A big ((((((HUGS and PRAYERS))))) and please keep in touch and let us know how things are going.

Audrey hope you get to feeling better soon…..no fun being sick.

Judy I think we have all been dreaming of fairies……..have any of you seen the fairies just posted on the Polymer clay thread?? Really cute!!!!

Stacey, you should look at the fairies there too….. Oh that recipe sounds good!!

Hi Cody….How are the little ones doing today?

Debra, I love crepe myrtle…..we one right outside my bedroom window when I was little…they are so pretty.

Synda….like your shelf idea!!!

Speaking of walking, and dogs.....mine is telling me we are overdue for our trip outside and over to check on "grandma".....that is usually our first item of business in the morning but I have gotten sidetracked... so guess I had better go take care of business!

Later.....

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Synda-it has to do with the amount of heat put out by them and the light itself-I would dmail critteroligist and ask her-she knows a WHOLE bunch about these things-her and Starlight1153...

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Yes Trisha it's just a cheap $25 shelf stand thing my husband has for the basement to put stuff on ,he has 3 or 4 of them so I'm taking one....LOL.It's metal that you put togeter and you can adjust the shelves.I think he got then like at walmart or someplace like that years ago.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Ok thanks I will.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Helllllllllllllllllllllooo everyone!!
It's raining and not fun getting caught in cold rain. Hope rain's not in your weather forecast, Debra.. brrrr..... To think of snow in Cookie's area... double brrrr!!

Judy, I love your smile! Enjoy your surprise shopping spree dear one. I am sure you'd pick the most lovely fabrics and some tools you might need for future sewing projects.... and don't forget those embroidery thread too!

Trisha and BJ, I have to resort to hired help too. Can't do much and Kel's always tired. Neighbour, having 3 kids enjoy the little pocket change. I rather pay than listen to Kel gripe and moan :D
And BJ... "what a difference a little hot air makes" I'm sure applies to Don condescending to your wants too!!!

Maybe you should try sinus rinses Donna. Since I've been doing it, seem to bother me less. Take it easy Sistah..

Oh my Cookie!!! Has the Hallmark store camp at your home?? Indeed a neat pair of birdfeeders there. Looks like I'm not the only one without a cell phone :D I love the necklace, so unique! Never seen a lamp oil like that. Of course, Maid M. is one ORIGINAL sistah!!!
Worth the wait..

So, only niece Laura hasn't received her swap gift. She did send a dmail saying she wouldn't mind the wait, till she's settled in her new home. You know what they say about patience being golden?

Audrey, glad to read you're over the crud. Me too.. touch wood! I see daffodils popping up in my yard, and I know you are anxious to get something going in your small garden. Just don't hurry your body, please.

Susan, it will soon be the weekend and you'll be able to rest from all the "skunks" at the office!!!!! Lol!!!

Gonna say special prayers for your Dad Kim. It's good that he has you and your sister to lend support to your Mum.

Niece, of course Uncle Kel's going to the show :D He enjoys playing with those big long arm quilting machines, and will practically pick up all gadgets and telling me "Buy, buy, buy"! I'm the one that have to show restraint!!!
BTW, where is your banana nut bread recipe? WE love it!!

Cody, pet Mocha for us will ya? Hope she is feeling better and less blood in her poop.

Synda, good luck on your seeds!!

OK, I have mailed out most of my BW blocks swap.
Debra these are just a few of them. Count the pieces in one block :D

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Jaye-they are sooooo pretty!!!!!!!!!

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Thanks Jaye

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

So it's your grandma's recipe, niece? Thank you so much!!!!!!!! Are you sure you want him to pick out your BW? Ok.. don't hold me responsible when you see some weird ones :D

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

Whew... what a morning here... finally got Don off to work.
He woke up this morning like yesterday didn't happen. LOL, Jaye... yep, guess the "hot air" comment does apply there too.

Synda, I have a shelf with regular florescent lights under the shelves, and it's working fine. I bought 2 cheap clear vinyl shower curtains at Walmart, and some screw hooks... screwed the hooks into the shelf where the drommits in the shower curtain were positioned... and walah... it's an indoor mini greenhouse. Here's a pic below. Then, after I did that last fall... my sistahs bought me a mini greenhouse... LOL... so I use them both.

Kim, add my prayers for your dad too.

Fairy Faith... keep dreaming dear... I placed my order yesterday for a bunch of wood projects for him... gonna keep him busy one way or another. He's got 2 bridges to build, 2 arbors, and a deck (maybe 2).

Got out this morning and dug to the end of the fence, then I had to rest my back, so I did something else for a while... finally got Don off to work... and now I am going out to turn the corner and get to the next corner before going after Mike.

OMG... those quilt blocks are beautiful... I would never attempt them if I had to put that many pieces of fabric together.

Joyce... just look at all that love that came in the mail from Marion !!!
As long as you didn't kill the yeast in the micro, it'll be ok, I think... if the temp of your liquids got above 85*, you might have a problem... if not, it should be ok.
I usually use a meat thermometer to test the temp of my liquids after microwaving... and before I add the yeast...

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

BJ that is exactly what my plans are.Thank You.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hello everyone. Just taking a break. I am cutting up some old fence boards, to use for my nre garden area. I think it wil come out nice. Just lots of work. Sounds like we are all busy getting the yard ready for spring, and or getting seeds to germinate.
Guess that is why we are all here, for the gardening!!!

Stacey, let me know when the gloves go on sale please?

Audrey, hope your feeling a little better. Don't over do yourself! I don't know much about roses. I only have 2 rose bush's here. I just prune them when they get straggly looking.

Bj, don't work too hard today, you gotta save some of that work for Don, or the hired help!
I called Kathy the other day. I got her daughter, and only for a few words. They were all sleeping, and not feeling well, so say some prayers for them please.
Has anyone tried JoJo lately?

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Good afternoon Jaye!
Laura is busy packing.....they have their current house until the seventh.....can start moving on the first. She hasn't been feeling great, sinuses I think.....mostly moving stress is my diagnosis. Will be so glad when this is all over with....I think getting her gift right after the move will be a good pick me up for her.....she says if she get anything now it would just have to go into a moving box and she would not have any time to enjoy it.....but at the same time she is still looking forward to it!

We have sun and upper forties, maybe into the mid fifties today....rain is on the way, but today is beautiful! The little birds are out chasing each other around so I need to get out and make sure the birdhouses are all ready...spring IS coming!!! I am ready for summer....soooo tired of being cold!

Well, need to get a little cleaning done so I don't feel so guilty playing with clay...after seeing the latest pictures on the Polymer Clay thread I need lots of practice....... and Porter thinks that with this sunshine we should take a Long Walk today! I think she is probably right!

Also need to start thinking about lunch before Bill gets home...........BBL...

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh my, Jaye! That's impressive. Your swap buddy's will be thrilled. I like the cute tea cup in the center of the red/black/white one.

Trishia, crepe myrtles are a staple in the south. Along with azaleas. It's hard to find a yard without at least one.

BJ, that's a creative use of shower curtains and it makes a nice green house.

Haven't looked, but may have gotten a touch too much sun today. It has felt so good to be outside and actually get hot! Had to take off the vest. Taking a little breather, then back outside.

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

Debra, I lived in South Easter Oklahoma when we had our crepe myrtle....I think we can grow them here, am going to have to check into that... I know the other thing I dearly love is the Mimosa, or Silk Tree. They seem to do well here so I imagine the crepe myrtle would do well also.

Speaking of sun, I think the dog and I will go out for another dose before it starts to cool down.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debra, what are you doing with your crepe myrtle cuttings?
Will they grow in the Texas heat?
Can you start new plants from the cuttings?
