Betty, regarding my Laura.....the owners would not negotiate....and with out that the house is not worth what they are asking so the search continues...we have leads on a couple of places that are also close to ME... so we will see what happens.....

Joyce, sending out prayers for your lil brother. That is really scary, he's younger than I am! My oldest son is 21, but was diagnosed with hardening of the arteries disease when he was only 14.... he's supposed to be watching his diet, but like any 21 yo thinks he will live forever.... so I know my days of worry are coming :(
I sincerly pray they get your brother all fixed up and he no longer have any pain.

waiting for docs to call me with an appt, think I've got a UTI again :( every time I need a dr appointment seems I have to beg for it! grrr! so told them today.... I either come in today or I will go to ER room! LOL! now they have a note out to my doc to see if they can squeeze me in today. If I go to ER, ER will FORCE doc to see me today..teehee!

Betty, please stay safe and warm today, I would be terrified driving in such conditions.... I'm sure youre probably used to it, but it would scare the heck out of me! lol! sis often talks about 'sliding' in to work when the conditions are icy up in WA.... makes me second guess my decision to move there! lol!

Laura (Wonderhug) I'm so glad you posted, thank the Lord you and your family are ok ..saying prayers that you soon hear from your brother..cannot even comprehend the magnitude of the destruction..if it is indeed arson related to some degree, how will these people ever live with themselves...just went on the internet to listen to more of what is happening..prayers are all at this time what we can offer..I'm sure there will be sites where we can make donations...put an extra prayer in that your boss gets her new job...wouldn't that be fabulous..everyone else at your work is caring aren't they? You sure deserve for things to get better...

AnnMarie, what is causing UTI? is it still the infection from when you were operated on? It's very painful..praying for you sweetie..omg so many of my friends/family and DG family need prayers this week? Best we take our rosary out... Off you go to the hospital..you don't want to leave it and create more problems...you overdid it last week didn't you???? if you are shaking your head no, better reconsider, I've photo's to show you have.....lol....

They would like to have three bedrooms, but can get by with two....as Laura said with two... if they start getting on each others nerves at time if they are really close, she can just come over to my house and do crafts for awhile, or send Sage over depending what is going on at the time!!!!! Let me think about that for a bit????

Today was just cleaning up the winter ick that blew in. got a whole bag of debris. it is pretty windy, but the sun sure makesup for it.
Yes Betty, You remember correctly I ripped alot of the wild flowers out of front garden. I will try and keep it maintained and add some ferns and hosta. Also This year i can take up some stufft to transplant to the cottage.
It is going to be a bit of a trick on when and where. LOL, told Gypsy I expect her back in the spring o help me clear the leaves.

Yes, i did get the extra material for my project, lol and then some! Should have just gotten extra immediatley.

Oh AnnMarie, it is me Judy...(not Joyce) Thank you...I have not heard any news as of yet. Both Nephew and BIL said they would call.
I only have his room number so no one there and Geesh won't risk waking him. BIL said now they would be doing the other 3...
I hope your doc visit goes well too. Geesh, sure is crazy trying to get appt. and then have to go to such measures to do it, yow! But I am gklad tohear they are squeezing you in.

LOL, Betty! I was working in a nursing home and one night, on the 11/7 shift, the lights all went out. We were all walking down the hall, checking on everyone with our flashlights. We were laughing and my teeth went flying! Good thing we had flashlights! I did find them, though!

Mary, that brought a tear to my eye..I treasure my DG friends..worry about their health/well being and look forward each and every day to hearing from them..it's not just a gab, it's knowing they are well..thanks for posting..

Audrey..is funny though..thank goodness there was no client in the room..imagine what they would have thought..lol..my niece laughed and laughed all afternoon..think it was primarily because of my laughter...

Just running through ro say HI!, these days pass so quickly, LOL! When I was younger and had less responsibility, they seemed to move soo slow, now even working from home, I get backed up on cleaning and straightening.

Betty, to answer your question, our property has a 2 acre pond so while it gets very muddy around the property it all drains into the pond so no flooding here thank goodness! It's been lovely here, have had the heat off during the day since Saturday and because it is above freezing at night, the heat doesn't come on more than once or twice. Although we have had many warm days during the winter these past few years, (shortsleeve weather), the cold comes back all too soon!
I have a few daffodils poking their heads through, not sure what happened to my crocus and I can't wait for their cheery yellow blooms! It makes me glad we moved here because back at home in NYC, the temps aren't as moderate.

Laura, sorry to hear about the fires, I saw it on the news, such a great tragedy. Hope you have heard from your brother and he is ok!

Have a good evening all, I have company coming this weekend for my GD's 2nd birthday so I have to make up the guest beds and straighten things out.

Did a walkabout in the garden..know they are under there somewhere..but I see the picture frame waiting for a live plant, well perhaps not today, then on the left, see the lighthouse so know the pond is there..wonder if my fishies have made the winter...and if you look just in front of the pond you'll see the metal art Dragonfly trying to work itself out of the snow..now here I thought all was put away..guess the worse that can happen is it rusts just a little more..lol

Hello All. Betty - thank you for mentioning the poem. I was hoping it wouldn't be presumptuous for me to post something so long. But it seemed to "fit" your group and I couldn't wait to share it with you all when it showed up on my email.
Yes - the pool is still relatively new so we do swim when the weather allows. The Teens have a great time with it...especially the girls. I planted creeping thyme last year and it took off...but then dried up (as with most my herbs). Reading a local book, it says our weather might just get too hot for it. At least where I had it. So it 'takes over' where you are? I have a more shady spot...I might try...then maybe it'll make it at least to June...
My prayers for the fires, illness, surgeries...Truly with you all....

Laura so sorry for the fires, I started to read a bit about the fires online. I do hope your brother and all your friends/relatives are okay. While reading about the fires it brought back all the horrible memories of our fires here in CA, I had to stop reading or I'd start crying again :(

Doc says no UTI, so more tests tomorrow am after I fast for 12 hours! grrr! I just want to be all better so I can go to work again... having all this time on my hands gets me in trouble! I might wind up pouring the cement walkway soon.... I have never been one to sit and idle away, so the past 4 1/2 mos has been a tremendous strain on my patience!

I loved the prayer...that is really how I feel about all my DG friends here!

Sending prayers to all...and thank you all for your prayers for my mom. The Doctor says she has the knee joints of a 20 year old....the torn meniscus can be repaired in a 20-30 minute Orthoscopic procedure.....she will have to stay off of it for 3 to 4 days.....then come back in on the 27th to have it checked and should be back to normal within six weeks!!! She is so happy and so thankful.....she gets to have the procedure on Thursday so we are all happy campers tonight!!

HAPPY BDAY JUDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Betty-you are most welcome-I did have a card in my mailbox yesterday after we got home from the movie (which was very good and had a love story as part of it that made me cry) and dinner that said they had tried to deliver it yesterday at a time when I was home!! I called them this am and let them know I WAS home at that time and NO ONE knocked or rang the doorbell-they will be redelivering today.

Yesterday was an interesting day-I had to take my car in to have a new door handle put back on and found out I had a recall to replace the alternator-I was fine with that since my car is at 82000 miles, I figure once it hits 100, I will have to start replacing things like that anyway, so that they did it now means I won't have to do that next year. $278 later I was leaving-they washed my car too which was nice and I had gotten a rear windshield wiper from them too that I asked them to put on-no one could figure it out!!LOL So 2 techs and a service man later and 15 mins later, I drove off all fixed up:)

Today I start my spring cleaning, while fitting in crafting too:) WE are getting rain and supposed to be 58 today, then dropping to 30 tonight, so they are saying we are in for some serious weather and gusts up to 60 MPH!!! WOWSERS!!!

Judy-I am glad to hear that they are starting the "fix up" process on your brother-it may take them a bit, but I hope he is good as new by the time they are done.

Laura-so sorry to hear about everything down under-I hope you hear from your brother soon.....

Betty-BTW-what did you think of the beads on the one set that I used to hide my blunder?? And the little guy was glued to the top of the box-sorry he came off:(

Judy, bet they are all keeping low key and will surprise you later today..I'd have gone for the pancakes...after I left for NYC Debbie wrote there was an IHOP nearby where I was staying..didn't think to look, my favorite breakfast place...not worried though, have plans to go back next month..after all it's only but 3 or 4 hours away..skip/hop and a jump..as long as they let me across the border...

What did I bring in, well, I was working on that insert a few weeks ago for a cupboard downstairs..not pleased with what I'm seeing so far but will continue to paint, who knows, maybe I can fudge another flower over the rose and no-one will notice..so that will be my project of the day..just settling in and then out it comes...

Sharon is back home, didn't get to talk to her but I did leave a message on her telephone last night congratulating her...boy she's had such a rouch year, I'm glad something good has come into her life..this is a long weekend for us as well, might call her if weather co-operates and meet her for lunch in Barrie over the weekend, I've still got her Christmas gifts..maybe it would be a good day as we're both alone to meet up on Valentines Day..get us through the day..probably the only day I have major depression..everything this week is so geared on LOVE/LOVE/LOVE and we've been so trained that if you are a ONE and not a TWO you've somehow not made the grade..isn't it stupid the think that way...hey, should check how many pennies I have and hire me a 'beau'...lol

Debbie, they didn't check the car when I crossed over the border so my flower bulbs made it home with me..last night I added water, set the bulbs inside ..says in a few weeks I'll have pretty scented flowers...then I got my new magazine and didn't they have an entire article on same subject...so looking forward to seeing their growth..
