Good Morning all. My prayers are with you and all Judy. Congrats Sharon Inuk is beautiful. Betty you be careful. Well I went and ordered some more Asiatic lillies this morn. I have got to quit. LOVE & HUGS BEV
Best/Worse &What did I learnt today/Chat with Friends #84
Back inside, will take at least 1/2 hr. of idling to thaw the ice from my car..schools are cancelled, roads icy as can be..Suzanne has to work late tonight, called to see if I wanted to go in with her but I'll venture out alone, taking my time...OMG I'm sneezing and coughing again, just doesn't seem to completely go away..
Bev..Asiatic Lilies are addictive...lol...the year before last I had no lilies and after listening to you girls talk about them I purchased about 10 last year..such a beautiful scent..more to come this year I'm sure...too bad they don't last long though..are you making a new bed for them or fitting them in an existing one...it IS only the asiatic that has the scent right?
Trisha, you are off to the specialist today..know you want it over with but doubt they'll operate for some time, at least here, goodness, we have to wait months to get an operation time slot..not good...hopefully in USA it will be a short wait seeing as she's in so much pain...prayers coming your way...years ago took grandma to Disney, wanted her in a wheelchair so that she would enjoy the day and not tire...she was in her late 80's..said nope that was for old people...guess your mom feels much the same, hate to say they need help..
Laura, watched the news this morning, fires still going on..so many deaths..it must be overwhelming for you all to listen to the news and know you have friends and relatives in the area...did you reach your brother?
Crissy, such beautiful dogs in the show, I fell in love with a few myself..do they have a 'cat' show of same importance..gee whiz, I've 2 lovelies here at home I could enter..lol...as for Inuk Crissy, he's only 1 1/2 so that is young to have won the status he has here in Canada and now at this show...can have empathy for you talking about your mom and dad divorcing..lordy it's over 40 years my mom has been with Jim and yet she still goes on and on about my dad...says she should be buried with him, they made that promise...not so sure my dad's wife would agree..her name is already on dad's tombstone..lol..guess we just got to listen
Mary do you use the pool that you want to put creeping thyme around? might overtake and do mega damage...I'd love to plant some around my pond but I've such beautiful flowers from spring to fall around it that I'd be worried it would take over and kill them...but, after seeing AnnMarie's patio I wouldn't mind finding an area to do same and plants some...just down the street in the spring/summer there is a lot with miniature flowers throughout..absolutely breathtaking but the downfall would be I'd never want to cut my grass and cut the tops off.
Kyle just called me to tell me that I should stay home today, school is cancelled and he's got the cold..said I could come over and visit with him..lol..said because he wasn't feeling good last night and Noah was playing hockey about 80 miles from home that he stayed at his other grandma's for the evening...they made donuts so said one day over the weekend he'd come over and show me how...lol...these kids are bound I'm going to learn to cook..even young Caleb last year went to chef's camp and tought me a few things..these grandchildren as are all of yours, just the apple of our eye...
Going to make a coffee for travelling and head out..take my time...
Good Lord willing we'll talk from the office
Betty, drive safe. It is supposed to hit 50 here today, but we do have rain. Tomorrow...they say 60, but snow on Thursday. I am sure your coughing/sneezing had to do with sleeping in the Artic Freeze Hotel up here! Lordy! I still want to write them a nasty letter!
Judy, saying prayers for brother in hospital, so scary to be 36 and have that health issue....at any age, but he is so young for that.
Today is the "blue hair" day after school. I will post pictures when he gets back.
Debbie
Betty I have the Asiatics in a space in my long sun garden but some of these are going in a differant place. I don't know if others have sent or not. BEV
LK-you are a day early;)
Betty-oh my, please do be very careful this am...
Oh well, I will get up in the morning and do it over! LOL
That picture is wayyy cute BTW;)
Good morning.
Thank you all so very much for Prayers and good thoughts for my brother.
It amazes me that they even let him go so early. I am just glad the wasn't too far away when the second hit on way home.
I have yet to call this morning. As I over overslept a bit.
Linda Kay, Thank you for the birthday greetings as well! So sweet.
Waving hello Shar, got your D-mail and will reply. I sure hope things are going better out your way. Expecting big rains here today.
unbeleivably warm too. 62! So i hope they don't come out your way. Worry about you when it storms. heheh, could always ringle jingle you if it does! Big smiles Thank you for early birthday wishes too.
Betty, Now, see told you Shar would love what you are making her! Thanks you for Birthday greeting too...oh gosh, I am just spoil this month...ROFLOL, not complaining mind you!)
Inuk is splendid, i am so glad he took Best in his Breed. Sharon and you all must be so proud. Who wouldn't be...Congratulations.
Liz, Waving Hello...Thanks so much for talking last night. always so good for me. Hope you have a good day! Text you later.
Dawn, Yippee, I was so happy your first day of promotion went so well. Good for you girl. Keep up the great work!.
Can't remember Wodspirit, I love your woodspirits!, they are really cool. You husbands turns out really neat. They have great expressions.
Guess what everyone, Talked to Stacey yesterday too! What a cutie! Ok and I am watching for Cedrick and Baily.
Hi Trisha, thank you for kind words too.
Well, I have to get Breenie up for school and run a bunch of errands!
Have a good day all!
Judy-make sure to check your email honey-you have something in there for you:)
Betty..the ones with the strong scent are the Oriental lillies..you do have some..I think you have the 'Stargazer 'for sure..and probably others.
Great news about Inuk.
Sharon must be thrillled.
Bye for now..
Made it in...1/2 way the roads were extremely icy, only vehicle on those back roads....doesn't that tell you something...I stopped at a few drives to let the children who were waiting for bus to go check, entire Simcoe County bus lines were not running..wonder why they had a smile on their face..lol
The other 1/2 of my journey was pouring rain and yes, calling for high temps and rain for today and tomorrow - snow Thurs/Fri
Debbie, perhaps today I'll write something and e-mail it off to main office of Howard Johnson hotel...aren't children of today lucky, having p.j. days, blue hair day, pet day etc. etc. I don't even think we had personal development days...makes the school year that much more interesting doesn't it..
Judy go telephone your brother and give us an update please....
Thanks Carol, yes think after visiting with you and I went to a street sale I purchased several..know I'll have to have more...did you get this freezing rain? Think a few post ago I asked if you left your big mirror and other works of art in the yard this past winter...
Thank goodness you made it safely-but shame on you-you shouldn't be driving in those conditions!!
Hi,
OK talked to Jack. Well, he is hanging on..They are doing Surgery this afternoon.
Right now they have him on meds to bring blood pressure down and keeping him calm.
He has blocked arteries. Apparently they went after the one that was the worst. Didn't want to do the others as it was going to be bad for his Kidneys. I am real confused on that. So now they have too. I guess the others aren't that bad, they want to try and dissolve the blockages with meds...Poor baby brother said never ever has felt such pain.
It was just good to hear his voice. Not so good to hear him so weak! So, told him, Honnee and Shawn will keep me updated, I will call him tomorrow.
Waving Hello to you Carol!! How are you, What you up to in the last of winter?
Betty, so glad you made it to work ok. Hopefully that will melt throughout the day.
Windy, sunny, warm day here.
OMG Judy, why on earth would they let him go home so soon??? Will be praying that all goes well during his operation this afternoon...confused also re kidney's , why concern yourself with kidneys if your heart stops...doesn't make sense...not the greatest that they will have to operate while his blood pressure is so high...tell him he's got the best of the best praying for him....
Thoughts I'd post...
Stacey what time does your mailman come??? lol Don't they know valentines day is just around the corner...so glad you picked me to celebrate with...too cute...what are you up to today...finished all the swaps?
June just called me checking to see if I made it in ok..said she and the girls who painted at the house yesterday went upstairs to see all my treasures..she said next time, I'm to get $$$$ from them all and shop on their behalf..now wouldn't that be a treat...

Betty what a nice post! Gave me some get-up this morning.
Well, I seem to be doing better today, have only had 2 minor cramps, one around 7am and the other around 9am, but haven't need to go to the bathroom, so Yay!
Another yay, Dave's finally mad at his work, he's worked 3 1/2 weeks in a row without a day off on 3rd shift (graveyard) and he's the only person who pulls parts on 3rd for several different departments, totaling about 20 guys. They kept him so busy last night he didn't have time to make a cup of tea, let alone drink it or take a lunch break, then when the dayshift guys came in they told him that he's lazy and needs to work more. Oh he was pissed and said staying home with his wife making sure she is safe is more important than being yelled at for not working when there are 3 people who do absolutely Nothing plus lie on their time cards and never get in trouble for anything. Not Good.
I'm still praying for your brother hun. I'm sure he'll be much better once they get the procedure done. My uncle had to have stints and balloons put in all the time, I think he had 20 heart surgeries that started when he was about 40. He always felt better after having some stint work done.
Oh Crissy, hugs to Dave...how come it is all the good workers get crapped on...always same ole/same ole...must be because we take on far more than any one else and the upper tier management just keeps putting more and more on the plate until we hit the breaking mark...glad he stood up for himself..
Betty, to answer your question of yesterday! I bought all my fabric for the fat squares swap, then went to the flannel. Sooo hard to choose! I got 2 purples, a pink, and a white backgrownd with little hearts, etc. Three yards each except one of the purples didn't have quite three yards! Think I'll have enough? I was going to use three layers, but you didn't, so I wont either! I want to make one to fit my full sized fed. If I use 8 in. squares, 11 across should be plenty, don't you think? I'm going by the size of batting you use for a regular quilt. Of course I wont have to use batting!
Had an mri done on my knee. I'll find out the results next Mon., when I go back.
54 degrees here and wind advisory out. Raining, it rained most of the night!
I was so tired when I got home! My nurse pulled up the same time I did, so we got that over, and I started to prepare the fat quarters, but I was just to tired! I lay down at 4 and got up at 8! Went back to sleep about 12 and I could still sleep! My cat woke me up about 10! I thoroughly enjoied myself! I had lunch at a buffet restuarant. Boy, was I full! Apple cobbler and ice cream for dessert! And just think, I have to go back next Mon.!
Seedtosser, I hope your brother does well in surgery and is up and at 'em in no time flat! We're all praying for him and for you!
Audrey, the one I did for Darlene which was about double side I used 12 yards total..that's using double not tripple...personally, tripple to me would be too hot..you'll so enjoy doing this project..
Sounds as though you did far too much and tired yourself out, but it sounds as though you really enjoyed your day..know on Friday we kept busy 12 hrs. and were so tired at the end of the evening but oh what fun....do Dr's work on President's day?..let's hope he has good results from the MRI...
Betty, those pictures are so pretty....lovely scenery. My DH used to ski until I came into his life...he has gone off with friends a couple times, but I have a horrible allergy...to cold! LOL I am like you, will stay in and make the soup.
Greg and family look so wonderful, so happy to see families having fun and doing thing together like that instead of kids in front of the Tv. Those are the memories kids will treasure.
The "blue hair" is my "lost bet" for Shane winning the medals. When I told him if he won a medal I would let him get blue highlites.....I should have known!
Debbie
Yes, Debbie I'm so glad that my boys spend a lot of time outdoors with the boys, either skiing, snowmobiling and in summer boating...guess we kept the busy doing same so it just spills over....
That will teach you making bets you think he can't win....did you have to do the coloring Debbie? That would hurt even more...
It's sunshine here this afternoon, rain no longer...Paul was just saying if we get the rain they care calling for tomorrow, a lot of snow will be no longer...not looking forward though to possible flooding in the house...too mild too fast...
They are saying the warmth and rain today and tomorrow, then more freezing and snow the rest of the week....so I don't think you will need to worry about it getting into the house. It just depends how fast it thaws.
No, I didn't color his hair...I was afraid too. Started reading all these warnings and such, and a friend works at the salon...so he is going over there after school, I bought all the supplies. I will take my camera.
And yes, this will teach me to give him too much incentive or goals. LOL Honestly, this will grow out and is not bad compared to some of the things i have seen on the streets.
I went upstairs and got my dolls to show picture to you....and the girls head strap that holds head on broke. I now need to get her repaired!
Debbie
Oh Debbie, sorry about the doll..I'll have to go through my pictures and find some of the by lo's I've done..the baby with teardrop is my favorite..actually I smocked her dress....
We're having much of the same weather..each day that's nice is one day closer to spring...
My girlfriend Rita wants to go to Buffalo in April so will let you know..
Hey Janice....checked tracking number and it says 'out for delivery'...
Waving hello this afternoon. (well almost afternoon)
Wow, I am amazed at this weather. Mighty windy but very sunny and warm!!
Debbie, so rry t hear about your doll. Sure hope it's fixable. UHM, so sorry about the bet and your loosing to blue hair. Not so bad at least it grows out.
Hahaha, Liz wanted to give me purple hair!..good thing we didn't bet anything.
Betty, very nice picture of your family.
Also, I did enjoy watching the Best Breed show. LOL, not sure if I enjoyed watching the dogs or the people running around! LOL.
That cracked me up to see Best opposite sex...Was fun to watch altogether. And you should be a proud Aunti!
Who is the man that run with him? though he did well too.
Found a new Italian Bakery with restaurant inside..omg had stuffed peppers and spareribs..liking my lips..no, must have been the fruit tarts I ate..just incase I get hungry tonight I bought an apple turnover..lol
Judy, Graeme (Graham) is the trainer..will tell Sharon you enjoyed, will make her feel better...
Everyone busy today except me...this computer is so slow...Paul said if I'm bored now just wait until tomorrow night when he hooks up my new computer, I'll be twice as bored..nice guy!
Trisha, just love that photo..omg soooo cute...you be careful now driving in that snow..isn't it unusual to be having it? Saw on the news I thought they said Arizona were getting the most they'd ever had..maybe I'm confused...
JUST laughing away...coughed and out went flying my upper teeth, thank GOD they didn't break...best I rid myself of this cold..lol...
OMG, just had the RC cola come up the nose when I saw that....that has got to be the funniest picture.
Ohhh Betty, get rid of that cold. I too have an apple turnover love, it is my "craving" at the strangest times of the night. I have to keep a package in the freezer to make in times of a "crisis".
Someone just sent me a Budwiser video of the horses on the 9-11 commercial, and I started crying like crazy. Anything with the animals and touching like that makes me so emotional....and when I am already in that frame, just right over the edge.
Well now that I've found the bakery I'll be making a few nightly stops for my supper..not worth me cooking for 1..my girlfriend in Ireland Debbie is always sending me those kind of e-mails..crying here 2 -3 times a day at my desk...
I'm so lucky the didn't break..would have to take time off that's for sure...dizzy person that I am, curled my hair this morning then Suzanne called to tell me to be cautious with the ice or did I want to drive in with her, she was working late so decided best I drive myself...
About 2 hrs. after arriving at work, went to Ladies powder room and guess who forgot to brush her hair...so, I'm in quite a state today..dying of boredom here...
Must be something I can do to occupy myself..best find a project for tomorrow..
We usually get a little snow shower in February....but we have had so much more snow this year than we usually get.....first time we had snow on Christmas Day since the late 1800's....don't know what to expect any more........
.....keep watching the news reports....Laura our prayers continue for you and yours.....have you any news from your brother??? Pray that all is well with him..
They keep saying high in the low forties here today......sure doesn't look possible with all the snow that is still coming down right now!
Just love the kittie photo's Trisha...Missy and Riley have tried going outside these past few days but still a bit cold so in within 10 minutes..haven't heard Trisha how Laura is doing with accommodations..the day I was leaving for NY she was negotiating?
Terri (Dragonfly53) how are things going in your neck of the woods...mild temps? You have a lot of land, any apt to get flooded?
hi there
sorry i have taken so long to respond.
no news of my brother as yet and the fires still rage... 181 lives lost and many more to come as they wait for the ground to cool so they can go in to find the missing. they expect it to go into the hundreds.
over 5000 homeless... its beyong belief. we have bushfires as its part of our country and the native bush. it needs fire to continue growing as strange as that sounds but men lit these and are now looked at a mass murderes.
they have caught one and are closing in on another,.
such tragedym no time to run ... one minute u could see a little smoke in the distance and within minutes the fire is upon you. it travelled at 3 miles a minute,,
we have heard from presidents of many countries including you own,,,,
we soldier on. many are digging deep and helping those in need, i have donated some furniture and bedding... i mean they have nothing. i can do without a little.
anyway, we are fine. we just await news of my brother.
thankyou for your thoughts.,
on the good side,
my boss is trying out for a new job!! PRAY she gets it!!!!!! lol.. make my life easier for sure.
hugzzzzz
OMG Betty, that is so funny!
Well not really, but I have had teeth pop out on occassion.
geesh, I hope you find something to do for tomorrow.
LOL, being that is a special day, I will be happy to blab with you.
How come you are getting a second computer? LOL, your boss is funny, in a cute kinda way.
Forgot to say Thank you to Audrey. I appreciate your thoughts. Still waiting to hear anything.
BIL now just called and said they will now fix all the blockages! I guess, it is too dangerous on the body to try all at one time.
At this point, we just want them to fix him up and keep him until all danger is gone!
LOL, can you beleive her was concerned about my water seepage! yikes thats crazy.
Yes, i was also Wondering if Laura heard anything from her Brother. Wonderhug are you reading? Are you still doing ok too?
Stacey...Got your e-mail!! Wow, thanks and yep waiting for card like you said.
Hope you have enjoyed your day. How was the movie. even though i am not into blood and gore, such as vampire movies, I do hope you enjoyed it.
Well, went out and decluttered the debris. LOL, I love that word Debris! such a dumb little thing to like huh.
