are you feeling better yet? didnt you have foot surgery?
This message was edited Feb 2, 2009 8:59 PM
I had both feet operated on, for heel spurs, and plantar faciitis. It is the tendon that runs from the heel to the toes on the bottom of your foot. Not a fun surgery to go through, but they are doing much better. I have to be careful and not over do it, like going through wal-mart. Thanks
Cody I'm checking in girl, thanks for missing me {{{HUGS}}}}....I've been sick again for 2 days, but different illness. Now I'm vomiting my head off for 2 days, continuously nauseated. Hello everyone.. glad to be back... for now. I start a new job this week. Not sure exactly when I will start. Takes a while for all the paperwork. I will be working 7p to 7a. It is the shift I wanted but will take some getting used to. I have never really been a day person.. hate getting up at 5:30 to be leaving the house by 6:30 so this will be better. I have been missing for so long because I have been sick with one thing after another with the icing on the cake being the flu that really got me down. The worst part was that my cuttings were completely neglected the entire time I was sick and they dried out. I lost most of them. I think maybe 4 or 5 may have survived. I have watered everything in hopes something may come back but they are pretty dried out and dead. Things dry out very fast here with humidity lower than 10% most days. I was heartbroken when I finally had the strength to go in the atrium and look.. everything dried up and crumbly.. that is what I get for not getting a flu shot and coming down with the real thing.. never again. I was so weak for 10 days I could hardly move.. had a fever of 103 for 5 days. Good thing weather was warm for the back door to stay open so the dogs could run in and out. Thank heaven the cat insisted on being fed at night or they all would have starved! The dogs just quietly laid by the couch with me and would have starved!
Tammie
Morning everyone. I have been up for hours, first husband and dog woke me up and then the cat. Finally gave up and came to work. Stopped and got you all a bacon and egg sandwich. So sit down and warm up with coffee, or tea. I will have diet pepsi....LOL
Faye, what strength did you use on the brugs with bayers? I use it on the roses all the time. The brugs are about to send me over the edge with these bugs! EE's and brugs just must make the best dining for bugs in the world. I have lady bugs all over the windows in the garden room but must not be too hungry cause I only see one or two feeding on the bugs....the rest just crawl up and down the window.
AuntB haven't tried any Buddah Belly seeds yet, but the plant is still blooming and setting seeds. It has not stopped blooming since the day I got it. Funny plant. Only two things blooming for me now. Buddah Belly and my poinsettia or how ever you spell it.
Tammie I don't know how you can work nights. I did it one time and selpt every hour of the day and still never felt rested....good thing we have day and night people.
Later everyone
Anjl, I know what you mean about getting your porch back. I feel the same way about my guest bedroom.
Oh Karen, poor thing. If you do have what I had, yuk!!!!!!!!!! I feel for you, I really do.
Bonnie your seeds are on the way.
Yep Tammie, when I get sick my plants are neglected too. My hubby doesn't like gardening or tending to plants. He does just what he has to do to keep his vegetable garden productive. So I just hope and pray for the best for my plant babies. Good luck with your new job.
LK thanks for starting a new thread. Was taking awhile to download with this dial up.
Tammie- CONGRATS on your new job and for regaining your health. Last year was such a tuff year for you so I'm really hoping that this year is quite the opposite :)
Jan
Morning everyone. Thanks for the breakfast!
Tammie has a new job, JBBerger is back with us. (Sorry, I forgot her name), Lookes like the crud is finally leaving everyone!
Tammie, don't worry about your cuttings, I bet we can fill your mailbox with some new ones when the time is right. Just let us know.
Take care everyone.
LK
Morning everyone!
Tammy, {{hugs}} sorry to hear about your health...and the demise of your cuttings. I know how you feel...last year I had seedlings & cuttings started in a lil mini greenhouse and a bad windstorm blem them all over :o( I lost about 400 plants.... I gave up and havent started any more seeds/cuttings since. was just too heart broken! was like loosing 400 babies all at once! its just as well tho, last year was also a difficult year for me, and if I started any seeds/cuttings I would have lost them too. so glad for your new job, and that you are feeling better now. I need to update my resume and start looking for a new job, as soon as doc releases me back to work.
cant remember if I asked this already, but when is the best time to transplant my brugs from pots to the ground? anyone know? I just want to make sure that walkway is done before I transplant them, and if spring is better than summer...well, then I need to get going on that end of the walkway soon! lol!
thanks for breakfast!

Good Grief, I am sorry to hear some of you are sick or have been sick. I think the stomach flu or whatever it was that was going around really did a number on alot of people. I personally try and stay away from indoor crowds, even church in the winter months because I usually get bronchitis twice a year just about the same time. Since I have stayed away from crowds, I went all winter so far without it. If I make it thru February I will have broken the curse and then I will feel free to get back to normal again. It is very hard to stay well when there are so many people using the grocery carts, door knobs, etc. I sound like that guy MONK on TV who is such a clean nut. Ha. I do hope you are all feeling better and that you stay well. Take some vitamins and drink alot of water. Thanks for remembering me. JB aka Jacquie.
Hey Jeanne, that Orange Glory was the one that sprouted on top of the hot water heater. Two of the four you gave me so for has sprouted and i have to get them in pots.
THE FRIST PICTURE IS A DATURA .GOLDEN QUEEN FRILLED DOUBLE IS THE SEEDLING.
THE SECOND SEEDLING IS ORANGE GLORY X ?

Jacquie;
How are you doing? How did your business do over the holidays. Hope you stayed busy, but not too busy! Do you sell other plants now that Christmas tree season is over?
Anjl, about time you got back to your self, and planting, but please don't over do it! You just had surgery a few weeks ago! Take it easy please. I would place them in the ground now, if you think you will have no more freezes in your area. I would think place them in the ground, so they can get settled in, and start the growing process? Anyone else from California?
LK
happgarden, The Bayer Killer I get comes in a spray bottle and i use it as is. Hope this works for you. The bugs were about to make me double wish for planting outside season.
So sorry you sweeties aren't feeling well, and I pray you all will be better tomorrow.
Brugmansia Orange Glory ! Never heard of it, but if it's as pretty as it's name, it's going to be a beauty. Good luck with it.
Faye,Orange Glory is one of the parents to the seedling.
If you want to see what it looks like,go to seedman.com and it will show you a picture of Orange Glory.I might buy more seeds from them.
Good evening, so nice to catch up and see everyone stopping in.. Thx for the new thread, LK. Tammie, and JB, we'll all have cuttings and starts to share in Spring.. AnjL, I'd plant if no chance of frost.. settle them in and once new growth is noticed start feeding them a bit.. 1/2 strength at first.. I'm pooped today... finished potting baby brugs.. still a few more to go, but I'll give their roots more time.. Pic.. Maya and the youngin's-at the bottom. Karen, dear girl, take care.. everyone, drink lots of fluids and get your rest.. Tammie, best wishes on the new job.. I'm kind of a home-body in winter this year too, and I dare to say I've been sick only once.. I'm so thankful. Janlynn you stayin' warm up there at the north pole? 14 degrees here today.. Jeanne, THX on the seeds.. I'll let you know I have yours in the mail. AnjL.. pics? Cody, look at yer cute lil infants!
Thanks Bonnie.
WOW!!! No one posted today yet??? Hi "B" :) It's nasty, nasty cold---will it ever warm up again?! There have been quite a few water main breaks in our area due to the Big Chill...
I've been working in my plantroom and in the basement---starting some of my bulbs (or at least trying to wake them up :) Several of my brugs are taller than me (yippee!!) and I'm looking forward to more blooms this summer. Been hangin' out at the CO-OP Forum quite a bit---gotta stay away from there!!! So far I've got Cannas, Caladiums, Lilies (Asiatic, Oriental, DL..), Messenger and a couple of other odds & ends ordered...eeks! No wonder that I'm broke :(
a big "HELLO" to everyone :)
Just "ME", Jan
Just got home from doing the "official" hire date paperwork. Don't know my schedule yet.. she will call me later today to go over that.. was too busy earlier when I was there. Three cuttings are alive .. yea....!!!! Spring thinks it is here outside.. my rose bushes are putting out new leaves! They for sure will get frozen at some point. Still getting very cold at night.
Hi ya all!
I did absolutely nothing all day :( guess I over did it a few days ago and now havent been able to muster the strength to get out there and transplant the thyme :(
wont transplant the brugs until after the walkway is poured....so will start on that as soon as the weather stays nice.... I hear we have rain coming :( means the weeds will get a dose of natural 'miracle grow' and be 5' tall soon :( I tried to get them all pulled before the rains, but no luck.
Yeah for tammie on the new job!
{{hugs}} to all
AnjL
Jeanne, now i think three of the four seeds you gave me has sprouted. It's cool already seeing the root on the sprout.Three more of my Golden Queen X ? has sprouted.
Jeanne,by the way we keep our light on the seeds 24-7.
Congrats on your germinations Cody. Well worth the wait I'm sure.
LK, NOIDS are surprises and I love surprises. Let us know what it turns out to be.
My rose bushes have been putting out new growth for two weeks now. Our coldest temp has been 27 (last week) and it doesn't faze these guys one bit. I'm glad. One last group of plants I have to worry about.
I love hearing the talk of new growth and LK, that bud! What a nice surprise! I noticed new buds on Antique Lace and Golden Lady yesterday, just love seeing them, especially in winter. Jan, I had to ban myself from some of the trading and coop forums.. lol and warm is coming, really TX and CA reporting signs of spring... it's actually supposed to get to 60 here tomorrow.. YAY! I know the winter isn't over, but I love 60 degree Feb days...Cody... ya mean I should have light on brug seeds 24-7?? Oh, goody! That may be part of my problem.. I keep them in naturally day light and only a small fluorescent above my kitchen sink at night.. I'll put them under my new light once it's in place and I'm ready to start some annuals. Karen.. hope you're feelin better.. Tammie, hope you get the shift you want. Debra? Miss your seedling updates... how's it doing down there? I ordered a few seeds for a couple places.. variegated tomato plant seed among them.. can't wait for them to get here. I'll wait a while to plant.. don't like things getting leggy before I can set them outside. Jeanne, hope you and your girls are feeling better...2 more egg tree sprouts.. :) am I just too impatient?? I'll make it to the PO tomorrow. Meant to say yesterday...Jacquie, we couldn't forget you!
AnjL, I'm glad you took a do-nothin day.. you deserve it!
Bonnie,i have mine under a fluorescent light 24-7.Not just a light.I will take a picture and show you the way i have mine set up.
