Yep, mine is wrong. Now I'm going to have to fish through receipts to find the name. But I will do it!

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

The intracacy of the bloom is amazing...color as well.
You didn't pair it with anything ! What's up with that ? LOL

It's partner is Belle of Woking.

So there, JD!

I got a tiny cutting of Multi Blue in a trade that didn't make it, now I need to find another. I have seen it with multi different looks. HollyAnn, the one you labeled as Snow Queen should be a white bloom, not blue.

Love those cow fence ideas pirl! I am going to look around and see where I can find some panels, seems like a great way to stretch your pennies.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Sue, The tag says white flowers, tinted blue with pink bar. The pic on the tag looks more blue than white, but you know how they enhance some of these pics. My pic may be a little bluer due to the light from the stain glass, but not alot.

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

Ah, missed the blue glass. Does it normally look like these images?

Great pics. HollyAnn, love the windows in the front garden by the side walk!
Can you show us the blue thing? Looks like a giant blue egg by the entrance.
I collect eggs- just curious...
Karen

I like how this Amorphophallus konjac in the foreground takes the shape of the arched arbor...

You have that sixth sense for photography!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Beautiful

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Sue, It looks a good bit like the second pic. Not quite pure white.
Cheerpeople, The pic is beautifully composed. I like the tray of glass pebbles. That is a giant blue egg. LOL I can't bring myself to call it that so I call it my Beautiful Blue Ball, but it is definitely egg shaped. It's a water feature a bubbler. If you would like a better look and see the story behind it and the installation. I have a thread for that, too.

HollyAnn,
You are an inspiration. That's a neat project and thanks for the link and how-to tips.
I like how your garden constantly changes with new projects. And that you use several different art media.- arbors, windowboxes, wood deer, ceramic fountain egg, stained glass lamp post garden...not to mention the art of gardening!
The trumpet vine winter shot is lovely.

Wish you lived closer and offered tours...:)

Pirl, Thx!

Karen

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Karen, You would be disappointed with a garden tour right now. I quite often give the 2 penny tour to friends, it's called the 2 penny tour because it's not worth a Quarter yet. LOL
But it is coming along, give me a few years for things to grow in. The back yard is pretty empty, we have a couple of big projects planned for back there and need to keep space for the heavy equipment that will have to come in. I have islands scattered here and there that are IMHO very pretty but mostly it is just open waiting space. I think there is a very good chance we will get the Greenhouse up this summer and then I can plant that whole area. The other big project is a large pond, once that is in place I can really, let loose. In the meantime I am planning.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Keep up the great work, Holly, and keep those photos coming!

Gorgeous bubbler, Holly.

Well, I don't have much else to post in the area of Arbors and Trellises but I do have my Gazebo. My Mom gave this to me in 2007 and we got it up that year. I had wanted to get one ever since seeing some beautiful pics on a DG Thread. As I said my back yard is still pretty empty. I couldn't quite decide where to put it so I had Ric set up the frame and then had the guys move it around a bit so I could live with it and think about where exactly I wanted it. Once I decided he put down the RR Ties and secured it and put up the canvas. I placed it at a diagonal to my Raised brick patio. You can get a pretty good look at my empty back yard. Notice the Shepherds Crook to the right, there is a nice small bed there now It was in one of the previously posted pics. A Little farther down to the right of the Bird feeder is a L shaped Holly hedge with my Canna bed. You may notice my Birdbath Fountain to the left of the feeder, and that dip you see in the lawn will one day be my pond. There are 2 very tiny beds at the front of the Gazebo. Remember this is just the start.

Fast forward to 2008 and things are starting to look a little better. Got a few more plants in those tiny beds and the brick patio floor is in place. This is just Stage 2, Stage 3 calls for more brick and bigger beds surrounding the Gazebo. There will be a brick walk from the Raised Brick Patio out to the Gazebo. The Gazebo brick floor will have a step down to ground level and come out an additional 2-3 ft all the way around it,with a brick and RR Tie floor space with larger flower beds on all four corners.

We spend a lot of time out here in the summer watching the bird feeders. It's close to our ugly but much used above ground pool and one of my water features sits close by.

I took a lot of my house plants out there last summer and they loved it. I let my Jasmine grow up one trellis and my Passi grow up another. There were a few small MG and Cherry tomatoes that grew up the other two. I need a lot more Cherry tomatoes next year as my GS ate almost all of them last year. He loved to come and pick and eat them right off the vines. I had a large pot of Coleus that sat in one of the corners and several different Ferns and Ivies.

Once again, lovely photos, Holly. How well do the curtains stand up to the sun? No problem with mildew on them?

In the last photo (post #6101479) is that the variegated Plectranthus that smells like mint and is very fuzzy? I love that one and take many cuttings of it every year. Put a few in sunshine (directly in the soil) and watch as that beautiful edge gets trimmed with pink. I'll try and find a photo.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

I held two Passion vines over the winter. The one in the window is really happy!!!

From the gazebo I can see my Birdbath/Fountain Pond.

Yes, It's Cuban Oregano http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1356/
I have been fighting spider mites and a few other pests all winter but I have been able to keep my passi going, doesn't look great but it's still growing.

The curtains are really zippered screens you can close up to keep out the bugs but we haven't had much trouble and just leave them swagged.
Anyone else have more pics to share? I would love to see more of your gardens, too.

OK all done, Remember that empty space with the Shepherds Crook and hummer feeder? That it where my DIL is standing trying to get a pic of a hummer. That's my son lounging in the swing by the Gazebo. As with most of our projects I have a thread on this one, too. LOL
Start to finish although this one has a bit more to go before it's finished.

Yes she does.

Great. I've never seen one sit still long enough to take a photo.

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

Holly I love that water feature.... is it something you bought or something built yourself?

would love to have something similar right next to my master suite patio....what is it lined with? I have lots of unused redwood laying around here...thinking DH could build something similar...

you all have such beautiful gardens~! I just cant wait til mine fills in like yours.... I just started gardening last spring so most of my plants havent quite grown up yet! LOL!

Hillsborough, NC(Zone 7b)

Great photos everyone!!

more..more !!!

The arbor - not in bloom - has confederate jasmine and clematis (the jasmine hides the clematis from the deer)

A trellis - but this one is a pain... It has to be propped with bricks behind..it keeps leaning against the house.

St. Francis had a black eyed susan vine growing in all his crevices --and it looked great!

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Very interesting St. Francis work of art. Did you make it yourself?

The trellis against the house is still lovely. I bet JD would know what you could put behind it to keep it straight.

The big arbor is beautiful!

"The trellis against the house is still lovely. I bet JD would know what you could put behind it to keep it straight"

Yes, I do too but I am afraid I'd get tired standing in one place for so long!! !! (smile) But I would love some other suggestions.

No I did not make the St. Francis. A friend, Francis Vega did (he won't mind my sharing his name) Cricket Forge Metals --but he really specializes in ironwork fences/rails etc. This was a Donald Drumm design and Frank and Mr. Drumm work together- Drumm designs and Frank manufactures. Frank is most known for his butterfly bench - that was his design.

I am always looking for plant ideas for that arbor --the deer---- the deer----and the rabbits----

Long Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

That arbor is beyond supreme. I love it.

All your metal accessories are great. Very cool !

Just get 2 pieces of rebar and drive them into the ground on either side of that trellis and tie them together with some galvanized wire.
