BJ..Dmail me your Brothers name...I kept a notebook...Thats how I knew about Julis Bro...I looked in my book...I was there from Feb 5th 1966 to April 17th 1973...so yes, I was there...1968 was a very bad year for casualties.. it was the year of Tet...

Thank you Debra dear...no salute necessary...I understand...

Yes, Judy Sis, I am still feeding my Squirrels...I feed them, they leave my stuff alone...LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That picture was taken April 22, 2006, and yes Cindy I was freezing. When the snow arrived we said "enough" and she still had more pics to take, we didn't care. We ended up with about 100 pictures as it was.

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Is this like your squirrels?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

What do you feed squirrels? That's a great idea Dusty!

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

Cracked corn, whole kernal corn off the cob, sunflower seeds and of course the required whole in the shell unsalted, roasted peanuts...plus, they scavenge from under the bird feeders...

Ummm... Mine have some weird expressions Synda, but that so far, has not been one of them...LOL

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

We had a squirrel feeder when we lived in town and it was 2 boards nailed together to look like an "L" and then there was a spike nail coming up from the bottom that you would put ears of corn on.And we had that nailed to a tree so they would stay out of the birdfeeders.I have even thown out mixed nuts left over from X-Mas.

What a few nap hours can do to these old bones.

Cody, if you're lurking...... :(

About ready to leave the house and celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year. Friends will be toasting with their V.S.O.P Courvoisier, but we will be toasting with our very aged well brewed, tea :D
On this day, kids pay their respect to their parents and in olden days, all pay respect to their ancestors. Kids receive "ang pow" (red packets) filled with money from their elders. Back home, fire crackers dangling from up to 10th floors of apartment buildings, will be lit. When Singapore had wooden houses back in the 70's, there will be some houses that were unfortunately lit up too!!

So, I'll see you later!

( Kim) Zion, IL(Zone 5a)

Synda I've seen that picture somewhere else, like in an email.

Tequila doesn't make me sick either, at least I haven't drank enough for it to, but I've had a pretty good buzz from it. LOL

Pangburn, AR(Zone 7b)

lovestogarden2000.... I am glad your mother's (_!_) checked out ok

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

The Panda is ME…….got drug out for a bike ride in 35 degree weather….what kind of an idiot does that!!!! Told him enough!!! I will not go out in this temp again….I have nothing that isn’t frozen!!

I ‘m with you Susan….neck hurts, back hurts and a bit of everything else!!

I have a recipe book called The Recipe Keeper that I got at Costco. I fell in love with it. It is in a three ring binder. I made one for each of the kids, brother, sister and mom. Got the binders that have a clear plastic front so I could print out a cover to go in it, and did the recipe pages to match. Keep their pages saved in Publisher and when I find a recipe I think one of them would like I can just print it out on their page and mail it to them. At the Trifocal Stage it is much easier for me to read 8 ½ x 11 than it is 3 x 5. Have 2
plastic page with a slit through the binder holes so you can just pull it out and slip it on the pages you are using to protect the recipes from splatters etc. Below is a picture of mine…..I need to get pictures of the one I did for Laura or Mom …..Laura’s was Blueberries, Shawn’s was Chili Peppers…..

Crissy, Beautiful picture!!!

Happy New Year Jaye!!!!! But then, we already knew it was going to be tough year….Obama can’t fix it all overnight If I was inTaiwan we could enjoy all the firecrackers….the paper from them will be knee deep in the morning!!!! Sure miss that!
But, yuuuummmmm I love a Hot Pot Dinner!!!!!! Have some for me!?!?!?

Cody, rest up and take care sweetie!!!

Judy, was just telling DH I should make Ruby’s Applesauce Cake today!!!! Great minds think alike!!!

Synda I am soooo in love with all the cute kitty pictures….they are so precious!!

Tia, Bill had the cutest little boy in the shop yesterday, about 3 to 4 years old. They had been talking an Bill asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up? He said a Porn Star……asked who told him to say that, he said his daddy. Bill asked if he knew what a Porn Star was? He said No but he thought his daddy wanted to be one……..Bill was about to bust!!!!! On one hand it is hysterical, but I cannot imagine a parent teaching a small child something like that….it’s just wrong.

obma won't be able to fix anything.

Pangburn, AR(Zone 7b)

Well, I go in to Little Rock to see the neurosurgen and the neurologist at the butt crack of dawn. I am not a morning person, no way, no how. not ever. I have to get up at 5am to shower, dress, and get enough caffeine in me, so I don't bite the heads off anyone who says "Good Morning" with their cheery little smiles. Now don't tell me I am the only one who feels that way??

(Trisha) Olympia, WA(Zone 8a)

No Cathy, my DH says that is perfect description of Me in the morning!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Why do you say that about Obama?

That's funny, I am a morning person. I get up at 6 every day and I may not like it at the time, but when I get started into my workday I'm fine. And if I sleep in late, say 9 or 10, on the weekends I get mad because I've missed part of the day, unless it's 25 degrees outside then I really don't care.

It's funny how each one of us have our own little quirks, isn't it?

Me too Cathy & Trisha....I am a jet propelled B on wheels in the early AM,but now the tables are turned on me and I have to be the one to make the cheery Good Mornings at 5am... LOL

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Crissy-I am with you on the am and I won't comment on your ?? as I don't want to start a political discussion and get in trouble, but I will say that I am excited for the changes I can already feel in Americans as a people and see a new dawn on the horizon...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

night night-4am comes early!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Left the house, and had to return... forgot the 'ang pows' the main thangs.. without them, they won't be good luck money..
Trisha, I'll eat your share!! It's Kel's first treat to Steam Boat/Hot Pot. The mandatory 'good luck' fish will be in the pot too.. I hope they have fresh crysenthemum leaves.
OK.. be back later..
oops... a gentle reminder. Politics is off topic here, DG's rules sistahs.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Cody, so glad you are home and have posted. Don't overdo it and get yourself down again--we need you here with us!

Flamingo Kim, your adventures are taking you to the northern states--no trips south? Maybe next year--ok?

Happy New Year Jaye. A tough year? I know it deep down but somehow reading about it seem worse! Nope we will all have a good year as long as we stick together.

Crissyr--I loved your wedding picture. Like the other I think I detected a chilly look but it really is a pretty picture.

Synda, I , too, love your wonderful clips of the cats. We had 2 beautiful white-I mean snowy white-kitties come up on our lower deck this morning. They are about 3/4 grown but small. Every year we seem to have another white cat appear but no one in the neighborhood claims to have any cats besides us. Beginning to wonder if there is a ferral cat community somewhere in the area. So far we have Smudge, Smear and Frost. I wouldn't mind if they stay around here as they are so pretty.

Tink, how you doing deary? Staying warm?

Oh my Debra, your classes sound like fun. I always enjoyed my classes --might have to see if there are some locally and take a few more. One can always learn something new. Interesting about the "dongle"--learn something every day.

Tia, Tina, Whatever--waving. I hope Sheila is okay. Keep us posted.

Hello Cathy. How is the back today.

BJ, very nice idea about the recipes. Will have to see what I will send so give me a day or so. What a very uniques idea and one that would be so much fun. I bought a couple of cookbooks when I was in Austria and had trouble finding the ingredients so haven't used them very much.

Well we have had a rainy, cold day today. One that really makes you feel cold. So I am off to have a cup of hot tea--plain tonight. Will chat later.

Sugar Valley, GA(Zone 7b)

Thank you Jaye.....I was about to post this reminder...

We'll stick to DG rules, not to offend anyone. No political nor sexual topics.

We may all be Sistahs, but we do not all share the same political views, so we need to stow them in the Checked Luggage and not in the Carry on bags.... LOL

Right now its an 8 in the pain chart, but after the 2 demoral, a soma, a valium, and my sleeping pill, it should be fine in about a half hour. Or at least I won't care how it feels. LOL

and I am not the one who brought up obama.

Pangburn, AR(Zone 7b)

No sexual topics?? Darn, well there goes a bunch of my semi-sexy jokes.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thank you! It was cold, about 30 degrees out there, plus there was the wind coming off of the lake from that snow shower in the distance. I started coughing like a fiene.

Ug I made dinner and it sucks, big time, it even stinks. Oh well, I tried something new, won't do that one again! LOL! I'm going to stick to chicken, can't mess up chicken LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL!!! I'm wondering what (( kind )) of sex topics LOL!! J/K!

I'm sorry you are in such pain! That's horrible.

Kemp, TX(Zone 8a)

ATTENTION PLEASE !!!

A DGer contacted me today, because I'm hosting that Fat Quarter swap, and asked me to try to find her some Rooster fabric.

Here's what she wrote me (I don't know how to do the blue "quote" box)

While I am not a quilter, I am in need of about a yard of cotton print...that has roosters on it...I want to decorate a chef's type apron and chef's hat with the roosters...having some of them to applique on to the fabric./...and enough to make big pockets....

This is for a Walk To Emmaus (if you are familiar with this religous experience)....and the only place I have to buy fabric in my town is Wal-Mart!!

I need the BRIGHT collored roosters...in reds, yellows, green, etc. I would be glad to reimburse you if you can find any.

If any of you have about a yard of bright rooster fabric you can spare, will you let me know?

Carrollton, OH(Zone 6a)

Well Cathy I have the perfect morning picture for you.Hope you like.....LOL.
