Coffee Break: Odd News, Helpful Info & Laughs for 2009 Pt 2

South Hamilton, MA

We used to live in Cheshire CT, but that was over 30 years ago.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Iris,
We were almost neighbors. I lived in New Haven on the North Haven line for a while.

Dahlia, we are glad you are here (even if you cheat on us).

Z9 right about now would work well.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I'm with you Sherrie. We are getting another "wintery mix" (That pretty much means ice)

I just as soon be Tom Hanks in the movie Castaway with Wilson, then go through this stinking weather.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Sorry I missed your 1 year anniversary d-nut. I am glad you come to visit with us too.

Just learned from DH that the logs get cut and go to the mill. The shipping containers come in and get loaded. They then go to Boston to get DEBUGGED! Then they go to port.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

happy anniversary d-nut, just had mine in Nov. and re-signing was a no brain-er with all the advice and information everyone shares as well as the conversations

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Couldn't have said it any better, Bill.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

I paid for mine this morning as soon as it came to my dmail this forum is great this winter it has been a big part of my daily routine will get put aside again in the spring maybe quick visit here and there but as soon as the weather permits I am outside from dawn to dusk mmmmm maybe I will bring the lap top outside and check in at coffee time hahha
but should have paid when canadian dollar was better it cost me 25 dollars to cover 19.95 lol

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

mona you will be surprised by all the DG activity here in the spring - i was always wondering when anyone had time to garden with all the activity and picture taking

i am also out dawn to dusk on the weekends - although hoping for some free time this year - of course i have projects planned that may tie me up again.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

I am always tied in knots hahahah from the minute I see a spot with no snow till snow covers everything again
since I like to do a little at a time with a bad back it takes me two months to do spring clean up lol and then the planting starts
we have to build a vegi garden this year so there goes most of april and may

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Happy Anniversary D-nut!! Glad yo have you here for another year ot 2?

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Interesting, I just paid for another year also. I guess quite a few NE DG people found Dave's in the winter. Makes sense.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

yes it does I found daves one day when I was looking for plants info and found that if I was a member I would have access to better pictures and more info boy I was surprise when it also gave me access to the chat threads, loved it ever since

Winters dead, spring is coming.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

not soon enough snow storm here today about 10 inches by tonight and then more and more tomorrow and more the next night lol all week till sunday when it gets super cold again lol enough I say enough hahahah

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

We are about to get dumped on hard.....im in the 14-18" zone. YUK!!!

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

ya you are getting it first but it has already started my way at 7am this morning probably will have to pick up the girls from school again since I am way out and the last stop the driver will call me at lunch because the first storm this year the girls didnt get in till 5:45 instead of 4:15 the roads by my place are very narrow and slippery it is real bad with a large bus so being the nice person I am I go get them so the driver doesnt have to come out my way since my girls are the only ones out here

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Hey d-nut! You've been here about 6 months longer than I - so glad you re-signed! I love all the singing and dancing! Please visit often!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I'll take the 14-18"...why can't we seem to get a good amount of snow?

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

you can have all of mine lol by the time we are done this week we will have about four feet with what we already had lol come and get IT please

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I wonder if snirt gets as far east as NJ? Probably not but flowerjen maybe you should wish for giant snowflakes like the one that flopped out of the sky in MT. That way you would get more coverage with less snow. Drat unfortunately my blizzard weathertransporting experiment went awry so I can't help YET.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Keep trying D-nut.....then you can send Jen all of yours and all of mine! lol

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

dont forget mine been wishing it away since november the fairy is not listening to me lol

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Well I only missed the mark by 315 miles which planetutidely speaking is pretty close but still not good if you happen to live in Ennis MT and weren't expecting a blizzard (oops).

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

it seem I moved to a snow belt lol and I had better get use to it lol or so my sisters keep telling me so I tell them my next move is the keys so now I have to balance and see what is worst gators or snow big snakes or snow sharks or snow oh well anything is better than snow

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I luv snow. Freezing your face off cold is tiresome though.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

ok gals here is something I think is funny

when my husband went to work this morning I was a very light blond and without the sun it was starting to look washed out and not nice anymore so

when he comes home he is going to find a new wife hahahah
with dark hair so if he doesnt look at my face he will think I got rid of the blond hussy for a smarter brunette hahahha

South Hamilton, MA

We are in a 4-6" prediction--trying to change to snain now. Give me big snowflakes any time.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

what is snirt?

South Hamilton, MA

Snain = snow-rain mix.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

snain i could figure out - snirt on the otherhand sounds like dirty snow on the side of the road or maybe it is snow/sleet.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I thought snirt was dusty snow that blows off the prairies. But googleguy just told me the urban meaning is the dirty snow that piles up in parkinglots and at the side of the road ewwww. Flowerjen I take back the snirt wish for you in case you get the wrong snirt. Man I'm really dangerous, aren't I? First I midirect a blizzard and now I'm wishing for dirty snowfalls in NJ. I better plant some more seeds or something SOON.

Mona in Metcalfe, ON(Zone 5a)

ya you need to channel your energies to something positive girl

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

time to go out and snow blow the driveway and shovel. looks like it is mostly snow with the occasion blast of ice pellets going on out there.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

You snow blow your shovel? :)

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

driveway/snowblow - walkway/shovel

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

tee hee good one venu ^_^

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)
