That's right, Dave! Imagine that guy in that huge umbrella landing near that manhole! Surprise!! LOL
Coffee Break: Odd News, Helpful Info & Laughs for 2009 Pt 2
What about catch and release? Why does the gator have to go to tourist prison? It doesn't sound like it bit anyone. Bummer break for the gator. Here we catch and release and paint a yellow patch on their bum. If they come back again, then they go to prison.
I;m back and I can answer that. large gators return to there home territory and they can get into and cause trouble. So the rule is that those that are over a certain length by law must go to a attraction or be Killed
The make good eating!
Got it. Note to self: Gators are really smart.
No! gators are dumb as a sunbaked tourist.
"sunbaked tourist"......LOL, Wren! Really sad about the gator......guess he walked too many city streets. (:
Good morning y'all It is raining down here in "Sunny" Northeastern Florida
The gator was either looking for a mate or was chased out of it's home range by a larger gator or looking for a deeper lake because of the cold.
"sunbaked" is right us native Floridians know enough to stay out of the sun!!!! LOL
Naa dont stay out of the sun. Become a jungle bunny. I went fishing out in the everglades once. There was so many gators, I think about it now and its creepy. The only thing I could catch is gar fish. The guys would break their beak/nose off and throw it back in. I remember it was going towards alligator alley. 25 years ago no wonder I cant remember.
I have no wanting to be that close to them thank you I profer a plexi glass between me and them if I has to see them lol
If they have not been feed by people they are usually more scared of you . Of course it would not be wise to swim in among a group of large gators. I think I read that there was only 3 attacks by gators last year.

I walked every day in the Villages---one day, as I was passing a storm drain, a roar sounded---I did NOT check the drain, but walked very quickly away! The gators did frighten me----especially one on the sidewalk at Hilton Head---that ended my walk that day!
The gators around a lot of people are the ones you should be afraid of.
The really scare thing is to be in a canoe in the wild and either hear a female on a nest growling at you or a really BIG gator drifting across in front of your canoe and no brakes on a canoe and your champions frozen in fear, That one was close.
i can remember going to some nat'l or state park near Venis in FL and you could take a boat ride to see the gators in the lake. What struck me was there were a half dozen guys in waders out quite a distance from shore fishing - the guide on the boat said it was safe in the middle of the day - it is dawn in dusk where there is only two things in the water - gators and food.
I just have this adversion to being a meal !!!
don't we all!!!!!
If confronted, do you punch them in the nose like sharks?
NO Their noises are hard. And the poking in the eyes will not work. I have heard of people getting away. But as their jaws lock down. And they usually pull there pray underwater. I guess you just say your prayers and kiss you a--- good by.
I will follow your advice.
Really you have very little change to be attacked by a gator. Just stay out of the water in the early mornings and late evenings and if you have a dog do not walk them around fresh water. To a gator a dog is LUNCH!!!!
Oh and do not feed one!!!! The have very, teeny tiny little brains and they do not know where the food ends and your hand begins.
man they are mean buggers lol
that a good one lol my dog doesnt know either lol bites my fingers all the time hahah
Not if you respect them and do not feed them. Like most of nature they will leave you alone if you do not mass with them. When I was younger and in a lot better physical shape I spent a lot of time in the woods. I have seen less than 10 snakes. Only 2 where poison. I have only seen a dozen or 2 of "wild" gators. I have only once been in danger with a gator and that was when I was in the canoe.
The gator was as long or longer than my 10 ft canoe. To keep from hitting it, which would not have been good. I tapped on the canoe with the paddle and the gator lashed the water and took off. I though my too companions where going to jump out and walk on water.
And my brat bites my finger some times to.
ya its always the ones we love that bite lol

Best place to live Mona! I love small towns, thats why I live in one but mine is growing on me.
That's the kind of town I would like to live in. Jax has gotten way to big-the problem it's government still has a small town mentality.
Mine is getting it's first big store....'Shop N' Save' is coming. I have mixed emotions about it as it means my town is getting bigger. On the other hand it will bring jobs to my area and I won't have to travel 20-25 miles to buy food anymore. It will be more like 2 miles...during the winter months thats a blessing! ^_^
Different subject....makes my town problem sound whiny.
Did anyone see this about the volcano is Alaska? Lets keep our fingers crossed for our DG friends in Anchorage and surrounding area's.
