That is a great bargain. You will never find anything like here!

Did y'all know that SE Mo. has been declared a National emergency site? Power could be out for up to a month. It's terrible. No power and no water. I don't know what these people will do.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Audrey how terrible...people will have to open up their homes as was done in Katrina..sending prayers..

Think I belonged to that group since I've been 6 when my aunts and grandma invited me to participate in their quilting 'b'

Victoria Harbour, ON

Must tell you about my younger sister Sharon...since early teens she has a medical problem that it's difficult for her to even hold a cup of tea...shakes like the dickens...

Her quilts have won top Ontario prizes! Lo and behold, when she quilts or does stained glass her hand is as steady as a rock..apprarently the specialist told her that because of the mechanism mentally needed to focus it bypasses almost like in a circuit board and she is able to do the art she loves...OMG you should see some of her quilts..will ask her if she'll take photo's to share..she is annal, in order to be judged what is it 24 or 28 stitches per inch" can't recall right now but if she doesn't have the correct amount of stitches within 1", out they come...she did learn from Aunt Muriel who to this day makes award winning quilts...little stressful got to tell you when both submitted quilts in same show...oh oh student beat the teacher...lol

I would be tickled pink if I could do 10 atitches to an inch!

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty, please do share photos of your sister's quilts! How is she doing, by the way?

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Wish I could get up courage to start sewing again! I think I'd feel better!

Victoria Harbour, ON

-18 and snowing..what better way to spend the day sewing..come on Audrey, get your scissors out..lol..

Went to Canadian Tire today..each and every time they have their pkgs of scissors usually $24.98 on for $4.99 - pkg of 3 guess who buys them..yep...I've 3 sets ahead of me now...they cut so nicely...

All my blocks to the rag quilt are cut..1/2 sewn..was telling the girls on the Best/Worse and What did I learn thread that you have no idea just how quickly one can sew when they have another project lined up..told myself although I bought material to make a canope type window dressing for my bedroom that I would not touch it until the quilt was done, well talk about energy ...lol

I just know as no person has posted since I last did that you are all working up those scraps into 'treasures'

I've been putting the quilt blocks together..hopefully later this afternoon I can start snipping...am sure Darlene will love to find a quilt waiting for her when she comes to teach painting here tomorrow morning....

So best get at it, join you busy ladies in sewing...

Can I have a peak at your project???

Beautiful! Can't wait till next week so I can get mine started! I went to the site you gave me, Betty, and learned a lot! I'm gettin' "In The Mood"!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Audrey, it is so easy to do. All you do is cut then sew squares together, then sit and clip!
Have fun.

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Tee hee hee!! I may not wait till next week!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Where were you, oh my buddies! I went to shop for my fat quarters swap and came across a black and white fabric I didn't have. Since it seems that my goal is to have a piece of every b & w fabric know to man, of course I had to buy it. Someone has to restrain me from this double addiction of fabric/black and white! Is there a number I can call?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Fostoria, OH(Zone 5a)

Soon we will have a new member to our group. My DIL, Fairy, got some nice fabric from one of you enablers and she wants to make a rag lap quilt. She can't do anything the easy way, so instead of 9 or 12" blocks she wants to do 8". Since I have never done one of these she is pretty much on her own, except that she will have to bring it here to sew since she doesn't have a machine. Today she is going out to buy coordinating fabric to go with her goodies. Once she goes into that fabric store I think it is all over but the shoutin'!
She will be hooked.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Stacey, I know you will love the sewing part of it. Who knows, maybe you will get a sewing machine for your next Birthday, or Christmas? Start hinting to hubby now, maybe by then, he will get it! LOL

(Audrey) Dyersburg, TN(Zone 7a)

Gooo, Stacey!

hello--I guess I must join your ranks

I have a storage I rent to keep my stash

I work in a store that has 3700 bolts

a new temptation every week

they are all decor fabric, however I just made a jacket out of two
if the picture feature ever lets me upload I will post

when I started this job, husband declared it was like hiring an alcoholic to bartend

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Welcome Garden Whisperer.
Wow.. a rental just for your stash.. you must be 'seriously' affected!!!

Confessin' here that I can't help but got more fabrics yesterday at a Quilt Show. NOT my fault. The organizers have schemed to place the booths so close to each exit point of the rows of quilts displayed,
that you can't help but be a hair breadth's from one of those tables.
Yes Lord, I'm weak.. and it has been only ONE day since I purchased some FQs online :(
I need one of your telephone numbers stored on DH's cell phone. You see.. instead of helping me towards recovery, he's my greatest enabler!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I, too, am a fabriholic!!! I make something and can't bear to dispose of any scraps unless I give them to another fabriholic. I've joined two BOMs this year and of course that involves monthly trips for the meeting. And then there are all the trips for that one special piece of fabric to make something "POP". And then there are all those wonderful notions that make quilting/sewing so much easier that I just must have. My wish list is LONG!!
HELLLLLP
PS I tried calling 1-000-111-4RED and the answer I got was GO FOR IT!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Too cute..keep on watching for those bargooooons...

Ferndale, AR(Zone 7b)

Welcome gardn_whisperer! Ummmm, you may need to be president of this club. Or our mascot? LOL!

Off to work on my first 'real' quilt. Believe I need to make three more blocks today and it will be ready to piece together. There are more than enough blocks already but didn't like the lack of contrast. Off to do something about that ...
