It is cooooooold here too! Only getting to 24 today (which I'm sure is warm compared to some of you). We are expecting single digits this weekend and some potential (shhhhh, whisper....) snow on Sunday (don't want to jinx it!).
Best/ worse/ ? did you learn today #79 visit with friends...
So funny Jeannine, here we're willing to give our cold/snow away and you are hoping for some..poor Mother Nature can't win...
Anjl, glad you joined us.
Hellnzn, it’s been a bad week. I don’t think I’ve had a day without some issue. I’ve been really depressed and stressed out. My FIL was given a month to live earlier this week, we’re having to move, I’m way behind on my swaps, etc… stress and depression suppress my immune system. Then there are the side effects of depression, and yesterday I tried to stay up on my sleep meds; that sucked I went all white, my hearing and sight were acting like I was going to faint, I started a cold sweat, mom and DH were quite worried about me. As soon as I had the chance to lay down I was fine, but… I had trouble sleeping the night before, so I had taken my meds to take a nap, but I had the day off on when we were supposed to look at one of the houses, so I tried to stay up. So, far today I already have a headache; but the headache is called kids, so it should be over in about 15 min.
I end up having to skim or skip ahead anytime I’m not on everyday on Best/worst and SI. I think everyone has to at some point.
Crissy, let’s see, I’ve been to WA, OR, CA, AZ, PA, NY, Tai Wan, Hong Kong (before it belonged to China), England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and France. Doesn’t seem like a lot compared to your list, but I’ve lived in WA, OR, CA, PA, and Tai Wan.
Sharran, my DH has back problems from being shaken by his step father when he was a kid, ex-step dad quite shortly afterwards, there is not much they can do for it.
Judy, to each their own I guess, DH would love to live in a high rise, the very thought of it gives me the willies, but as I always say, if we all wanted the same things we’d be in big trouble.
Stacey, don’t forget munchies, never know when you’ll need them.
Betty, Love the quotes! “Money can't buy you happiness, but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery. -- Spike Milligan” Mine is “Money can’t buy happiness, but the lack of it sure causes misery.”
Another good one is “If Pro is the opposite of Con, than is Progress is the opposite of Congress?”
“I don't feel old. I don't feel anything until noon. Then it's time for my nap. -- Bob Hope” Speaking of, mine’s a little earlier, but it’s time for my nap. I stayed up a bit after I would normally go to bed to talk to you gals. I stay up later than I should to get up at 6 a.m., I have a really hard time going to bed before midnight, just seems unnatural to my body, so I go back to sleep when I get the kids off. I don’t think I’ll be back on till tomorrow? and I missed SI.
Betty, wouldn't it be nice if she listened to our wishes?
Judy will you dmail Ruby's applesauce cake. Sounds too moist!
Enjoyed those quotes Betty. Many summed me up.
Laura, sounds as though everything right now is overwhelming you and not without just cause..prayers for your FIL..have you heard how he is doing today?
Best of luck getting the house you want...bit frightened of height as well so best keep my legs planted right on the ground..the place you are hoping for Laura is it the loft apartment? am sure a lot of your worry will end once you have accommodations...what will they be doing with the place you are in? selling/re renting or moving in themselves?
At times laura when stress is high you have to keep a routine with sleep and eat and exercise...if each of these things are out of sink it means problems... so take time to get yourself some of all of these things...
Greg just dropped in, he's outside with my hood up looking again to see is I have a plug-in..when I said manual said 'may have' he said most likely not then, key word is may..lol...
Doing the 'HAPPY DANCE' yep Carol, got me a plug in..no more worry..Greg said he needed some tools because they have the cord wrapped and tied in about 20 places soooo he'll get it done either tonight if he's not too late or this weekend...deep freeze is almost over for now so I'm sure another day or so won't hurt..maybe even a drop in at the dealership tomorrow..save Greg the work...
Yay Betty!! That is a good thing!
Be careful when you ask for snow.........I asked for a little and got foot that here for a week......where it was piled up in parking lots still hasn't melted completely!!!!
All of you please take extra care in the extreme cold conditions........
Betty so glad you found the plug!!!!!!!!!!!1111
So am I Trisha, won't worry now..
Took my lunch went over to the Habitat Re-use it center OMG they were getting a new shipment in..they had a surround tub and casing around it..know when I lived on the lake cost me almost $1,000. brand spanking new $250.00, then they had carpet rolls, anywhere from 10 x14 (top of the line quality)..omg $45.00 for any of the rolls - brand new...
Some inside doors, wouldn't you know I need about 7 or 8 and didn't have my list with me for sizes...told myself to always have it on hand but didn't listen..might even drive myself in tomorrow just to go back with the list....then they had a shipment of lap top computer bags..they types that have all the additional pockets for paper/files etc. on for $5.00 bought Kyle one and might go back before I go home and pick up another for Noah, he doesn't have laptop but he sure could use it for his wii games and his other game units...
Went to fill my gas tank up 5 cents a litre from this morning..because it felt half way warm with sun shinning decided I'd best check my oil..noticed that it's time for oil change..when I stopped for Subway only because I had a discount ticket..buy one get 2nd free, guess I know what's for supper...I stopped and asked the oil change place next door how much and how long..said that before I could get my sandwich the 7 guys standing there would have my car done..and yes they did..so another thing off my to-do list...more expensive then I remember thought $39.99 but then it's a long time since I got an oil change myself...
I'm happy back in the office with 10 minutes to spare..imagine that..lol
Edited to read...
With all those young men, not looking a day over 21 I gave them the old wooo is me, grandma type story, can't sleep, got to start the car during the night, worried it won't start....yada yada yada...we'll they fixed my plug and I'm now in business...

Good news Betty..
You will feel better knowing it is plugged in when it is real cold.
Carol much the same..tell you if I wanted rugs on my bedroom floors today would have been the day to buy them then just have them installed...
They also had in the very back some windows...saw a couple of new patio door sets..not a lot of time on lunch but would love to go and see, maybe pick up one for back bedroom and one for the dining room ...they also had so many mirror slidding sets for closets...have to find out their Saturday hours..but it's the kind of store that you have to check from time to time and purchase then...

Carol the unit we bought when we lived on the bay was all in one unit..we had to take walls down in order to accommodate it..lost some of my bedroom closets doing that...
Make the washrooms look so clean and tidy don't they..
LOL Ya'll just reminded me that I'm 10,000 miles Over the normal 3000 miles for an oil change! I have got to get it in!
Oh Bev look at him...funny isn't it you can purchase beds for them, make them beds and what do they like, an old cardboard box... looks so much like m Riley...
Snowing hard again, wouldn't you know, it's time to go home and now it starts...but had a productive afternoon...if you all don't mind I'm going to post of few of our photo's from summer time..might make us feel like spring is on the way...
Here goes...
Hope I don't get them mixed up...
Vicki gave us this beauty...
LOL! My car dash is telling me it's time to change oil, too!!
Any word yet on Jesse???
None as yet..just got home, picked up Noah so off to either cook him supper or off to the Pizza restaurant next door, wonder which it shall be..he brought the Wii so he and I could play...
I would vote for Pizza!!!
LOL, voting for pizza too!!
Too cold to have to cook.
Oh, wow...Betty, thank you for a preview and Remenisence.
Oh, oh Breenie is mad I got her allowance...
Carol, Betty and everyone...Got more bird food.
You should have seen the size of my wood pecker...ohwah!!
LOL, called everyone to come see!
Betty, I saw on the birthday forum that Jesse had a birthday the 13th I believe it was.
Those pictures are so pretty! I have nowhere safe to start seeds, I just wanted a bit of color and was thinking of paper whites ... but the darn cats think they are toys.
No new snow here yet, but it is supposed to drop some more on us.
I usually pay $29.95 for an oil change, and to have it done in about 5 mins I would pay the extra $10!! WTG Betty with the old granny routine to have them find the plug-if they only knew that it is a VERY deceiving act and you could probably run circles around them!!LOL I on occasion have played to dumb chick to get something done...not a lot, but a couple times;)
LOL Judy, how long before you cave in, knowing you got the $$ ad not Breenie...best you keep it in your pocket, buy something nice with it, she'll learn more from that than you sharing...bet next week her chores will be done..any photo's of the woodpecker? you just reminded me, must put out food before I leave for work..
Suzanne says she's going in, Dr.said she has pneumonia and a 'flu' bug so I'll drive in myself just incase she has to leave early..our last 1:00 closing then it will be 3:00 on Fridays from now on..
Last year Debbie I tried to grow from seed, was somewhat successful but I started WAY too early, if I start some this year it won't be until April..shucks we still could get snow in late April...getting snow here this morning, Greg plugged my vehicle in last night so didn't even think of it not starting..he still didn't think I needed to worry..told him put another 21 years on him and he'd worry to..
Pizza didn't win out but poutine did...Noah wasn't hungry when I first picked him up..about 8:00 he said 'grandma I'm hungry but you don't have much food in your fridge'..kids..not the kind of food he like, freezer full lol and I explained 'why' before he tells everyone I've no money for food...that I eat breakfast out, my main meal at 1:30pm and never really hungry for supper..much to make if I am...a simple 'ahhhh' was his answer..
Kyle loved the computer bag..hoping his laptop will fit in it...
Trisha and Audrey, re my oil change..was laughing..think once a month I should do an over the border run for mailing my 'swaps' and also an oil change.... look at the money I'd save!
Best get read...waving hi to all
LOL Stacey I don't do it very much either but it was worth it, no worried about it starting..now saying that, watch if I don't go and start it and the outdoor plug didn't work..lol..
talk later..with it snowing I'd much prefer leaving 1/2 hr. early in order to drive safely..
Good morning!!
LOL another 555 wake up, and Julia just going to bed!
Well, it is no surprise no school today!! Buses won't start. I decided to call Breenie out of school as too.
Personally, it is just too cold.
LOL, Betty...I am not caving! Told Breenie if she wants her allowance then she needs to adjust her way of thinking. Or it will be done and she won't get paid. She wants everyone to go around her schedual...Hello, when you pay mortgage and all the thge insurance then we will work around you. LOL, until then, you are 15 and will work around my schedual which does not include do the the dishes after school.
I have to be home and I want to see clean counters! So we are working on a compromise with that. So, she needs her little bit of cash, now I have to come up with some chores worth 20 bucks.
OK, almost 7...going to see how long it takes Jacob to realize there is no school!
Oh I am so glad you have a plug in...Will be nice not to worry about vehicle not starting. You'll still nedd to warm up up though right?
Anyway, yep I have a photo of woody wood pecker, LOL, now I realize the "blue" bird is actually a female woodpecker. Wow, they are conciderably smaller.
HEY G I T A, Are you there? Waving Hello.
Bev, what a cutie your powder is. she looks all snuggly in the box!
Morning Liz...Lemons arrived, LOL, met Rosie at the door. Steve so excited, thank you!!
OK I am off to watch CSI...anyone follow the show? Been waiting for this episode.
Have a good day, Stay warm and cozy warm if you can.
Stacey, I hope you don't have to be out there today. Do you take turns with anyone?
He looks small in this picture, unless we have 2, is that possible??
Because the one I was telling you about, very excitedly, was HUGE!!
Nope-not outside today;) I watched CSI last night-CRIED BUCKETS-told DH I had a tear duct problem!! I am talking the original CSI in LV
